The Model: By the late 1960s, both Volkswagen and Porsche were in need of new models; Porsche was looking for a replacement for their entry-level 912, and Volkswagen wanted a new range-topping sports coupe to replace the Karmann Ghia. At the time, the majority of Volkswagen’s developmental work was handled by Porsche, part of a setup that dated back to Porsche’s founding; Volkswagen needed to contract out one last project to Porsche to fulfill the contract, and decided to make this that project. Ferdinand Piëch, who was in charge of research and development at Porsche, was put in charge of the 914 project. The Car: This Porsche 914 is a well kept and maintained driver with recent engine and transmission rebuilt. The body shows to be an honest original car with no signs of previous damage or corrosion. The interior shows very well with no large blemishes to be found. With its very presentable paint and attractive color combination this is a turn key inexpensive gateway to become part of the Porsche owners club.

The Model: The first Ferrari to be christened Mondial was a two-liter racing vehicle produced between 1954 and 1956. Only 39 of these cars were prepared with the Scuderia’s Formula2 engine, and they found moderate success when the main focus at Ferrari was still on the mighty V12’s. In 1975, Ferrari introduced the 308 family of sports cars with the Dino 308 GT/4 offered as the entrylevel Ferrari. In 1980, the Dino 308 was transformed into the new Mondial. It was still the least expensive Ferrari at the time, but that still put it in a league far superior to most every other car on the road at the time. With its low stance and wide tires, it grips the road with excellent acceleration, brakes with ease and hugs a corner tighter than a race winner hugs the trophy girl. The Model: As with its predecessor the Model T, Ford’s second generation Model A often found itself doing things that it was old Henry Ford never even thought of. While its primary mission in life was to be a family car, it was often pressed into commercial applications as well. On those sturdy yet simple chassis one could find tow-trucks, farm vehicles, pick-up trucks and even hearses and ambulances. Starting with 1929, Ford even attempted to capture the station wagon market by being the first car maker to offer such a model straight from the factory. Even with assembly line models filling those needs, there were still some companies that provided after-market bodies and a good number of home craftsmen played their hand at making custom bodies. Ford’s Model A from 1928 to 1931 was a major leap forward in the automobiles world and with over five-million examples produced, today they are still highly sought after and actually, fun to own and drive.
The Car: Even though the factory started offering a factory supplied station wagon, often referred to as a depot hack, there were all sorts of home-built creations that could carry passenger, cargo or just about anything one needed to transport. This vehicle appears to have been hand crafted, though there is no known history about the builder. Starting with a restored chassis and running gear, the hood and cowl are from the 1930 model year, while the engine was assembled and numbered during the month of October 1929. This unique vehicle appears to have been built as a touring wagon or possibly for use in local parades. It would be perfect for taking guests around a large estate or ranch, or for those who are civic minded, what better way to promote a company, a cause or an organization than this open-air beauty. Including the driver, it would make a perfect ride for four, a couple more if you don’t mind squeezing in center seat passengers. Original Ford wire spoke wheels have been retained, painted in a vibrant red hue, body sides appear to be of sturdy quality pine with rugged construction throughout. The Model: The heart of Ford’s updated version of a Shelby classic is its 5.4 L (330 CID) Modular 500 hp (370 kW) supercharged V8 engine. Features include the Tremec TR-6060 6-speed manual transmission, suspension tuning, a body kit, and 18-inch wheels. A collaboration of Ford’s Special Vehicle Team (SVT) and Carroll Shelby, the GT500 was produced in limited quantity for three years (approximately 10,000 units per year) The GT500 also came with a very successful launch control system – needed with 480 lbs. of torque at 4,500 rpm – as part of the standard traction control system. To get a nearly perfect launch, all the driver has to do is rev the engine to 3,200 rpm, dump the clutch and floor it. The system automatically modulated the engine power.

The Car: This car has been used on only very special occasions. Always serviced and maintained by the current owner and kept within the confines of a climate-controlled atmosphere, this beauty finished in white with blue striped with a complimentary black embroidered leather interior. The Model: One of the styling cues that the Chevrolet crew was hoping to tie-in to their new 1955 models was the egg-crate grill that was likened to contemporary Ferrari sports cars. From any angle, the 1955 Chevrolets were a beautiful execution of modern style presenting grace and elegance. Not only were the exteriors new and fresh, but the interiors were equally as exciting. While most of the media attention for the new 1955’s was Chevrolet’s completely new V8 engine. However, there were a number of dedicated customers that swore by the trusty in-line six. Pumping out 140 HP, this engine performed as well as a number of V8 engines from this same time period. With origins dating back to the early 1930’s, it was a design that had been perfected, delivering plenty of passing power for modern highways while providing the economical operation expected with a six. Even in days of gasoline being under 30 cents a gallon, there were those who paid strict attention to the MPG of their new cars. Always popular with car buyers, the handsome Belair four-door sedan, Chevrolet’s top shelf car, saw over 345,000 units produced making it by far, the best seller for the brand. The Car: This 1955 Belair sedan isn’t for everyone. It is reserved for those who can appreciate a well-preserved, beautifully designed and crafted automobile. Our consignor says it appears that this solid sedan was given a cosmetic restoration during the early 2000’s. It is finished in its original two-tone combination of Glacier Blue and Shoreline Beige with the interior done it original style fabrics replicating the proper design and stitching patterns. Under the hood, you will find that impressive six cylinder engine is in excellent mechanical condition. Described as the perfect car for a Sunday drive it is fitted with factory heater-defroster and a dash-mounted clock. The Model - By the early 1960’s, Nissan’s Datsun brand was starting to make some in-roads in the USA market. Their light duty pickups were winning praises for being durable, reliable and economical, while their Patrol 4X4 vehicles promoted by cowboy star Roy Rogers, put only a small dent in the off-road market. Their sedans had become a bit more powerful and were starting to be seen on more and more streets in the USA. But in the world of sports cars, Datsun was ahead of all other Japanese competitors and carving out a little market niche of its owner. One of the most innovative models was the 1500cc Fairlady, model SPL310, seeing distribution pick up during 1963-64. In 1965, a new and improved model, the SPL311, 1600 version was released. It was this model that started to capture those wanting to get into the sports scene on a tight budget starting to turn to. Actor turned race-car driver Paul Newman used a Fairlady for his first racing events which led him to become a major supporter of Peter Brock’s BRE Datsun team. The 1600 was lightweight, handled as well as anything from Europe and could be purchased for a bit less than the UK’s MG-B.
The Car –Nobody bought one of these peppy little roadsters when they were new and put them away. They got out and did what they were designed to, be driven and enjoyed. This example is no exception. An early production model of the 1600, this car features what appears to be its original drive trains. Finished in its original shade or white with black vinyl bucket seats, these cars were subject to being equipped to the owner’s taste. This example is fitted with a vintage Momo “Team” steering wheel and has been upgraded with a set of custom sport alloy wheels. Reported to be well sorted out, it provides the performance and handling that was so finely engineered in these early sports cars from the land of the rising sun. While the fit and finish appears to be at or above factory tolerances, and the car is overall neat and tidy, this is not a trailer queen by a long shot. It is meant to be driven and enjoyed. With the growing interest in early Japanese cars, especially the Fairlady based roadsters, this vehicle presents a great chance for someone to join the fun and do it economically.

ot 07 L The Model: Following Alfa Romeo’s withdrawal from the American market in 1994, Alfa premiered this “new generation” Alfa 916 Spider for non-US markets only. The new car featured projector-style headlights and clean lines from a completely concealed folded top. The interior refinements of the new Alfa stood apart from the competition offering special optional leather sports seats, leather color-coded door panels and stitching around the handbrake, gear lever and the new three-spoke steering wheel to tie it all together. A new higher output 2.0 16 valve Twin Spark engine with two spark plugs per cylinder was available as a high-performance option. Most important was the introduction of the inline six cylinder engine, based on the BMC C-series, fitted with a pair of SU carburetors and backed up by a 4-speed transmission. The styling was unmistakably Healey, even with a two-inch longer wheelbase, wider opening for the radiator up front plus a functional hood scoop, fixed windscreen, and for the first time fold-down occasional seats installed behind the front bucket seats. Acceleration was decent, 0-60 mph in just under 11 seconds, with conservative fuel usage of right around 21 miles to the gallon. In its four model years of production, a total of 14,436 Austin Healey 100-6 models were produced. The Car: Finished in a monochromatic scheme of pure white, this little roadster has been treated to a fairly comprehensive cosmetic and mechanical restoration. The body panels line up quite well with proper gaps seen for the doors, bonnet, and boot. This 100-6 is riding on a set of knock off wire wheels with fresh rubber, white the bucket seats are covered in supple vinyl retaining the original stitching pattern. Under the hood is clean and tidy, with all the proper markings plus all wiring and hoses sorted out. The gold faced speedometer and tachometer are original, as are other gauges mounted properly in the dash. To keep one toasty and warm on a cool early morning drive is the original heater provided by Smith’s. On the rear deck is mounted a handy luggage rack perfect for carrying the picnic basket on. As an honest driver quality this would be the perfect launch for an afternoon lunch.

The Model: Coming under new ownership, Volkswagen decided to let Bentley build its own market niche based on the rich racing heritage the marque had enjoyed before becoming a part of Rolls-Royce. While there had been several performance Saloons such as the Turbo R, a more sporting look was sought, hence the Continental GT coupe. In the fall of 2005, a convertible concept of this car was presented and a year later put into production as the Continental GTC. It was an immediate success. Using the same drive train and suspension set-up, fined tuned for the convertible body, these British born open cars took performance, style, speed and elegance to new heights. The fabric soft-top convertible roofs were produced for Bentley by Karmann in Germany, and a vast amount of German technology was applied to the bodies and chassis which are still being produced by the finest craftsmen in the industry. With 0-to-60 times in the 5.0 second range, the GTC is the only way to do some neck-snapping acceleration while being completely surrounded in the lap of luxury. The Car: Considered by many, the Continental GTC is about the best bang for your performance buck wherever you go. The Model: 2002 marked a major milestone in the history of Bentley. Under the BMW leadership what was still getting in tune with the Bentley tradition, the most powerful engine ever placed under this marque’s hood by the factory, was unleashed. The use of twin turbos created a monster of an engine that was not shared with any other make or model, making the Arnage the fastest production sedan in the world. There were a few other technical touches that helped besides the turbo power, such as the Motronic 7.1.1 “Engine Management System” that kept just the right about of fuel-air mixture delivery, and for handling the Bosch electronic stability program kept these big luxury sedans on the straight and narrow. The Car: Maintained to the highest degree since new, this beautiful Arnage is finished in Barnato Green complimented with Saddle leather throughout the interior. Showing relatively low-miles, our consignor tells us that this Bentley has been given the highest quality with a file-folder full of receipts to back up those claims. The Model: When the 1961 Lincoln-Continental was released Ford Motor Company was honored with the Bronze Medal from the Industrial Design Institute. Its creator Elwood Engle, who had already moved on to Chrysler, (and whose touch is seen in the 1964-66 Imperials), returned to Ford just to accept this prestigious award. Not resting on their laurels, Lincoln continued to make improvements and 1966 would see a complete redesign but staying with Elwood’s original theme of “less-is-more”, and understated elegance in motoring. For 1967, few changes were made to the Continental, except for minor trim updates. The Lincoln emblem on the front fender was deleted on 1967 models. The dashboard gained several indicator lights, cruise control on, trunk open, and an oil pressure light. In the interest of safety, lap safety belts became standard alongside an energy-absorbing steering column. The Model: From 1961 to 1967, Lincoln produced the only four-door convertible in the USA, and it was used by heads of state and celebrities alike. The interior was kept original and while it shows a bit of patina and the rubbers a little age, it is ready for the open road. Finished in its factory color of Granda Yellow it is complemented by the seating surfaces and white folding top and reportedly is the perfect classic luxury cruiser. It received an engine-out service in 2015 that included a complete engine re-seal. The car is original apart from an upgrade to electronic ignition and a new top. The Model: Ferrari introduced the 308 GTB (Berlinetta) at the Paris Salon in October 1975 as the replacement for the Dino 246. The new 308 GTB was beautifully designed by Leonardo Fioravanti, of Pininfarina. Power came from a transverse mid-mounted four cam V8 with four Weber twin choke carburetors connected to a 5-speed manual transmission. The finished product was a success for Ferrari, and with the sleek styled GTB and the later open top GTS, the 308/328 models become one of the most loved and recognized model range that Ferrari produced. The early cars utilized a fiberglass (vetroresina) bodies, and from mid-1977 the bodies were made of steel. Production was 1975 through 1979 during which time just 2,185 steel bodied carbureted 308 GTB’s were produced for the world markets. The Car: This beautiful US delivery 308 GTB was produced on December 1979, which is the last year Ferrari offered a carbureted variant of the 308. Finished in wonderful Silver (Argento Auteuil) over Red (Rosso) leather. It’s easy to see this car has been loved and cared for over the years. The vehicle received a complete bare metal repaint (photo documented) to renew it’s aging factory silver paint, and even after several years the paint looks excellent. The Rosso red interior is very original with great patina, only natural aging and wear. Overall this vehicle is very clean and well preserved with a very good service history. Recently this 308 received an extensive engine out major service with new timing belts, water pump, valve adjustment, and several items replaced / updated due to age (hoses, seals, ignition wires, etc). Some noted enhancement to the car, 16” Ferrari wheels from a later model 308 and a TUBI exhaust muffler. Car comes with the original set of 14” wheels, as well as the owners manual/books, service records, tool kit, and jack kit.

The Model: For Porsche fans, there have been many ultimates in the near 70-year history of the company. But one of the latest, street legal ultimate performance machine has to be the 911 GT3. When tested by Motor Trend the numbers they turned in were downright impressive. 0-to-60 time, 3.1 seconds. Talk about neck-snapping performance. In the quarter mile 11.3 seconds, or just under 123 MPH! It has stopping power too, from 60 MPH to dead-stop in just 98 feet. While this car can hold its own going down a drag strip, it was really designed to make turns at speed, which it does admirably. While cute, the 190SL, which looked like a baby brother to the 300SL, lacked some of the refinements found with the next generation. The first 230SL had more power, a tuned suspension and really was a true sports car in every sense of the word. A couple of years later the 250SL was released and finally the most impressive of all the 280SL. Whether or not it was the aim of this German automaker to target the American market, over half of the 23,885 280SL’s produced ended up in the USA. Given the nickname “Pagoda”, because many felt the removable hardtop had a resemblance of those Japanese structures, they were loved by those who knew fine automobiles. The 280SLs were powerful and properly balanced, agile and so easy to maneuver that almost anyone could pilot one of these roadsters. 280SL owners praised their performance, style, and comfort when they were new, while connoisseurs of the finest automobiles today continue to offer those same accolades on a truly superb design. With production of the Pagoda styled SL’s coming to a halt in 1971, it was the end of a golden era at Daimler-Benz. The Car: In the “Pagoda” Mercedes final incarnation, the 280SL featured more power, a retuned suspension and creature comforts than its predecessors. This example was produced during October 1970 and has been well sorted out. Finished in Snow White it is fitted with comfortable tan leather seats that appear to be nearly new. It is equipped with a matching color removable hardtop and a fresh and snug fitting black soft top. Among the interior appoints is a full assortment of gauges plus a very hard to find Becker Mexico AM-FM-Cassette sound system. This 280SL was recently serviced and it is reported the fuel-injections system, one of the most reliable ever produced, is in excellent working order. The Model: In 1936, Rolls-Royce released their first V12 with the Phantom III. It would be the only 12-cylinder engine produced by this prestigious automaker until 1998 with the Silver Seraph would arrive. In production up to the beginning of WWII, a total of 727 PIII chassis were produced between 1936 and 1940. However, not all of those chassis were sold prior to the start of the war, with records showing the last unit wasn’t delivered to its owner until 1947! The PIII would be the last model that Sir Henry Royce actually worked on before he passed away at the age of 70. As was the practice in this era, the customer purchased only the chassis from Rolls-Royce, and then contract with a coachbuilder of their own selection for the body. Founded in 1600, Windovers was one Britain’s oldest coachbuilders and when they entered the motorcar generation, they were one of the most popular suppliers of bodies for Rolls-Royce chassis. Their beautiful designs and craftsmanship were truly worthy of being called a Rolls-Royce .

The Car: For many years this exquisite example of superb design and construction has rested in a private collection. Currently finished in white, this car appears to have been given a cosmetic re-do in the 1970’s. At that time, the front driver’s compartment was done, in what the owner describes as, a new leather, which the rear compartment is also described as retaining its original leather upholstery including the occasional seats. It has been treated to a recent mechanical reawakening and is reported to run out quite well. Capable of maintaining highway speeds when in proper working order, the Phantom III was an impressive machine. Despite its size this stately automobiles measures under 19-feet from bumper-to-bumper. Fitted with factory wire wheels, and the original Lucas headlights plus a trio of driving lights, this PIII features the “One-Shot” lubrication system operated from the driver’s compartment. Another PIII built-in convenience was the built-in jack system located near at each of the four wheels, which this car retains. It is also fitted with dual sidemount spare tires which add to the prestigious profile of this magnificent automobile. If ever a car deserved the term “Classic” it is this Rolls-Royce which deserves to be in a world-class collection.

Mechanical improvements and aesthetics were noted as was the use of the new more powerful Colombo designed V12. Ideas came from several directions with the canted headlight design attributed to Mike Parkes, a factory test driver. During its run a total of 625 units were produced proving the public loved the ideas behind this sporty 4-place coupe. Pinifarina’s coachwork lent itself well for the purpose of these cars with flowing lines and expert craftsmanship in the build. Also applauded, when new, was the more powerful and efficient engine that boasted a 25% increase over the previous version. Performance, handling and the ability to take friends along, albeit rather cramped in the back, all made for a more practical sporting coupe. The Car: While this prancer was covered in a dark-red finish from the Italian factory, it has been wearing a Ferrari factory shade of Metallic Silver Gray since the late 60s. While that finish falls short of being perfect, it remains presentable with lots of shine left to give. Inside, the Italian leather has aged gracefully, now presenting an irreplicable a lovely patina. The V-12 under the hood is in proper running condition and could easily be driven to the local cars-and-coffee event. A respectable driver’s car, this Ferrari is certain to be a high point in any collection.

The Model: With the birth of the 928 Porsche, this rags-to-riches sports car maker entered the world of V8 engine production. While some critics of the day expressed displeasure over the size and bulk of this new Porsche, plenty of dedicated customers lined up to purchase and experience this totally new machine. What they found was a peppy touring coupe, more at home on the wide-open autobahn or a straight shot through the desert than on a twisty-turny road course. When the car was first introduced it had plenty of room for improvement, and when the 928S was introduced in 1983, it brought the car to a whole new level of appreciation. Higher horsepower, retuned suspension, better handling and more creature comforts made the “S” superb. The 928 family of fine Porsches saw 18 years of production, not a bad lifespan for any model. Described at the perfect Grand Tourer, especially in parts of Europe where 120 MPH can be driven at all day long and legally, it will car two adults and a week’s worth of luggage with ease. The Car: If this is the first 928S you will ever climb into the driver’s seat of, you are sure to be taken by the large controls that are at your finger-tips. Lights, air-conditioning, power windows, all at your beck and call. There is even a button for the luggage compartment, and this is available to both the driver and passengers. This example has been enjoyed and used quite a bit, but appears not to have been abused. According to the consignor, the mileage is from new and this is an untouched original example. The factory black paint and black leathers seats are the same as when assembled at Zuffenhausen. This was a factory USA spec car where it was sold new, but has lived a major part of its life in the car of a Porsche aficionado in Mexico, where it was rarely used. One of the few upgrades to this car is the addition of an Alpine sound system with AM-FM radio and a CD player. Fitted with its original slotted alloy wheels, there is probably no way finer to explore the United States than in this double-black beauty.

The Model: A one-year production run gives the Mercedes-Benz 250 SL the distinction of being the rarest of the cars known internally as the W 113s, but Pagodas to the rest of us. A replacement for the 230 SL, they featured a new torquey engine that was more reliable because of its improved cooling system. The new nomenclature also saw the addition of the California coupe, aptly named because it lacked a soft top, replacing it with a fold down back seat, limiting their use to climates that were entirely predictable. The “California” models remain some of the best examples today because of their kind environment.

The Model: Ferdinand ‘Butzi’ Porsche sketched the concept of a larger replacement for the legendary 356 in 1959. First shown in 1963, the new 911 chassis developed in parallel with the new 901 engine, an air-cooled flat-six with a 1,991cc displacement. Although production began in 1964, the first ‘big’ Porsches weren’t available in the United States until early 1965. The 911 received a number of developments quickly as the 901 engine, the brakes, and suspension components rapidly improved. The 911S of 1966 received the most powerful engine and braking system, but this model was not available in the US market until 1969. The 911L appeared for the 1968 model year only with better comfort and trim levels the base model. The 911L received an upgraded 130 bhp engine and the brake upgrades of the ‘S’ model, making it the top s pecification car in the US market for 1968. The combination of upgraded performance and higher overall specification has made the short-production 911L a rare and sought after Porsche.

The Model: Long before O.J. and A.C. made the Bronco name infamous in the world’s slowest car chase, Ford introduced the line, in 1966, to compete against Jeep in the compact SUV market. Fun and peppy in the early days, by the late 1960’s the factory had really dedicated itself to creating honest racing vehicles. In 1973 the Carrera RS was born and the 911-based vehicle was really took the sport by storm. Taking little time for licking its wounds after the 917 had been legislated out of any competitive events, Porsche focuses on Group 3 and Group 4 production classes with their full-on race car, the RSR. To quality, the factory had to produce 500 cars equipped with the basic 2.7 Liter engine. Thus was born the street-legal Carrera RS. Starting with an over-bored 2.3 Liter engine, a mechanical fuel-injection unit was fitted and the rest is history. Starting with a stock 911 shell, both the front and rear wheel wells were modified to take on larger tires and wheels, plus wider rear quarters and up front a new valance with lower-lip spoiler. The most notable addition was the “ducktail” spoiler which was molded into the rear engine cover.

The Model: Created on the “back of a napkin”, or so one story goes, is how the Volkswagen Type 2 Transporter came to be. After the end of WWII, one of the first German industries to get up and running from the ruins was Volkswagen. Under the guidance of British engineers, the little Beetles, which had been developed in pre-war Germany as the “People’s Car”, started to populate a car-hungry region of the world. In the late 1940’s Dutch VW dealer/importer Ben Pon visited the factory and fell upon the idea of a Beetle-based utility vehicle. He sketched out his ideas and presented them to the company officials. While it would take a few years for resources to be freed up to create a prototype, the final product reflected most of Pon’s original ideas. Once in production, the VW Transporter was pushed into dozens of jobs from postal work to deliveries, from simple transportation of goods to work in fire brigades as support vehicles, ambulances and often by police as “paddy” wagons useful when taking a large number of lawbreakers to jail. With the new tasks came a program of constant improvements. From 1951 to 1967, while the basic design remained the same, over 600 improvements had been made. One of the most important duties of the VW Type 2 was that of hauling passengers, and hence the “micro-bus” was born. People like to see what is going on around them so VW designers answered that request with more windows, the ultimate number coming to 23, which is the very number of window panes this example presents. Picking up the nickname “Samba” this was the top-ofthe-line. Originally designed for touring the Alps, these highly trimmed models feature belt-line bright molding, sky-view windows along the top of the car, and even corner windows for complete 360-degree viewing.

The Car: This Volkswagen Samba Bus 23 Window is an exquisite example of a fully restored model from 1958. In 2010, the bus received an extensive nut-and-bolt restoration. The original panels were retained as the body had been rust free and original. The Model: The 365 GT 2+2 is a luxurious car with leather seats and electric windows. It was the first Ferrari to be equipped with standard power steering and brakes and the company’s first 2+2 with a self-leveling independent rear suspension. It quickly became the company’s top-selling model with about 800 produced in four years.
The Car: The 4.4-liter single overhead camshaft V-12 engine was fitted with three Weber carburetors and produced 320-horsepower. Cosmetically, the car is an honest driver example. The Model: During the 1970’s and 1980’s, America’s automobile industry was more concerned about emissions and new safety standards, rather than styling and high performance. Those valiant engineers and technicians on Chevrolet’s Corvette team didn’t give up though. Lead by Dave McLellan, with help from British sports car maker Lotus, a package was developed and unleashed at the start of the 1990’s. Its option code was its name, the ZR-1. That year all Corvettes had a 5.7 Liter V8 under the hood, but the ZR-1’s engine was a work of mechanical genius so special that GM had to go to Mercury Marine in Stillwater, Oklahoma for its four-cam, 32valve monster to be assembled with the skill of masters who had a little more time on their schedule to build these engines the right way. The result; everyone who was anyone in 1990 had to have a ZR-1.

The Car: When looking at an investment car, its history is paramount, and this ZR-1’s background check has been completed. Shipped new to Abraham Chevrolet in Tampa, Florida, this was one of the first ZR-1s delivered. Not too many people actually got to see the car as it was quickly secured and put away in climate controlled storage. Today it shows just over the 600 mile mark and still features the cardboard floor mats installed at the factory to protect the flooring during transit. The Model: The first Healey sports roadster was introduced at the 1952 London Motor Show by Donald Healey. Before the show was over, he had changed the name to Austin-Healey at the urging of British Motor Corporation’s Leonard Lord, who wanted a sports car for his new company. A number of record runs and a first in class in the 1954 Sebring 12 Hours earned wide publicity for the little Healey. The so-called 100/6 was transformed into the 3000 in 1959 with a larger 2.9L/124 HP inline-6, a tougher driveline, front disc brakes and an increased wheelbase to answer North American market demands for more cockpit room. Racing and commercial success quickly followed, and in spring of 1961 the 3000 Mark II was introduced in 2-seat BT7 configuration with triple SU carburetors; in January 1962 that gave way to the 2+2 BJ7, and the engine reverted to twin SUs to facilitate easier tuning. The Car: Benefiting from a complete and comprehensive photo documented ground up restoration by marque specialist Healey Lane of California this matching number and certified 3000 MkII is truly a magnificent exhibit. The inviting interior sports new black carpeting, a leather covered dash with rebuilt and recalibrated original gauges fitted with new steering wheel and seats upholstered in Ambla leather with red piping. With its professionally tuned drive-train showing only a few test miles in the odometer this Healey is one to be enjoyed by the most discerning collectors in the open road and likely to be seen in the concours circuit.

The coachwork of the RCR GT40 is a precise recreation of the original GT40 Mk1—after all, the tooling was cast from an original car. It’s decked-out in period-correct livery with the appropriate vinyl vintage decals, Ford Racing Red and Wimbledon White paint. This reproduction is one of the most published cars of its kind. Built for the track, but street legal. This car comes with an extra set of track wheels (BRM Vintage) and tires (Hoosier). The engine is built with an aluminum 8.7 deck, Ford SVO 302, which produces 630hp (Dyno Tested). The gearbox is the coveted ZF 5-speed just like in the original. It has been completely & professionally rebuilt and all internals have been safety wired. From the driver’s seat, you can adjust the front/rear brake bias on the fly, you can activate the fire suppression system and you can monitor the vital statistics. The 6-point roll cage is unobtrusive and barely visible. Some of the instrument gauges serve two functions—for example, the oil temperature gauge will read the engine oil temp or the transaxle oil temp when you flick the toggle. The speedometer is an extremely accurate 200 mph device! The Model : The GT40 story is a tale of how the underdog beat the giant. Known and loved by car enthusiasts around the world, it is a story of perseverance and triumph against the odds; a real-life legend. Henry Ford II, as an automotive magnate confined to spectatorship, expressed interest in a partnership with Enzo Ferrari and the pair brokered a deal that culminated in the imminent sale of Ferrari to Ford Motor Company in 1963. However, the deal was ill-fated and Ferrari severed ties at the 11th hours after millions of dollars in legal fees had changed hands. In 1963 Henry Ford established Ford Advanced Vehicles (FAV) specifically for the development of the forthcoming racing car, under the direction of John Wyer. The Model: After the end of WWII, Aston Martin was finding a tough go at getting back into production. Their high-end specialty sports car niche was filled with competitors and selling their pre-war 2-Liter Sport edition found just over a dozen customers. When David Brown entered the picture by buying the company, he brought with him an advanced in-line six-cylinder design that had been purchased from its developer, W. O. Bentley. The DB2 was first shown in 1949, and when two extra occasional seats were added the designation was changed to DB2/4. Sales picked up a bit while constant improvements were incorporated into the model until 1957 when the Mark III was introduced. Going from about 140 units a year to 551 by the end of 1959, this car was a smashing success. This model is often referred to as simply the DB MkIII, it was the final version of the DB2 and the one most people first experienced the marque’s name. Incorporating the now famous radiator grille opening for the first time, the shape of which was repeated with the interior’s dashboard design. Most welcomed was the addition of Girling disc brakes up front while retaining the contemporary drum style brakes to the rear. Of the 462 DB2/4 Mark IIIs produced, a total of just were LHD export editions, making this car quite rare and very desirable. The Car: This is a most unusual DB2/4. Starting with a solid and rust free California car, it received a total cosmetic restoration several years ago where it was finished in Raven Black and still shows quite nicely. Fine red leather was used for the interior including the occasional seats which can be used with the storage shelf is raised. All bright work such as the bumpers and those stunning wire wheels are in show condition and even the undersides have been finished making car quite presentable from all angles. But the real surprise on this car comes under the hood. A built Chevrolet 350 cubic inch V8 has been installed backed up by a 5-speed manual transmission. The Model –There were only subtle changes to the surface of the Corvette for 1972, but it would prove to be a pivotal year for the model. This season marked the last for chrome plated front and rear bumpers as well as the chrome egg-crate side grilles and the removable back window on coupes. One added feature this year was the introduction of a new VIN composition for all Chevrolet passenger cars, for the first time ever, a code was included that identified exactly which engine was placed in the car at the factory. For 1972, the code “L” was the hot one, it represented the LT1 option, 350 cid rated at 270-horsepower. While the 1971 edition was rated at 330-horsepower, a new system of determining an engine’s output was put into place, in reality, the 1972 edition was every bit as potent as the earlier models. This wasn’t a cheap option, $483.45, which was one reason why just 1,741 customers checked that box. This season would mark the end of the first chapter in the LT1’s story, but not end its respect and desirability by performance minded Corvette enthusiasts.

The Car: Under the hood of this car you will find a number of modifications to the original LT1 engine. Ceramic coated headers channel the exhaust, a Holley 750cfm carburetor combined with a Crower cam boosts the performance and a larger capacity radiator helps keep the engine as cool as a cucumber. The original Rally Wheels are fitted with a set of B.F. Goodrich T/A tires. Inside all of the original instrumentation, including the tachometer, remains and all are reported to be 100% functional. With the standard black interior still in place, one interior upgrade is the addition of a Kenwood sound system including a CD player. During the restoration, a color change to Ontario Orange was applied which really brings out the dramatic lines Bill Mitchell was looking for with this generation of Corvettes. The black convertible top fits snug in place and the entire car looks ready for the road in any weather, for any reason. The exact formula that was used to fit the Bird with its 23-inch high tail feathers isn’t known to this day, but what is known, is that the wind-tunnel data translated to on-track wins. The cutting edge design that lengthened and shaped the front end of the car and added the unmistakable wing to the back was enough to lure Richard Petty back into a Plymouth, but car buyers weren’t initially sold on the awkward appearance of the car as daily drivers. Homologation rules dictated that Mopar build 500 of their race cars in a road-going package and that they be for sale at dealerships. The funny wing and sharp nose, in 1970, were a bit gaudy for most consumers taste and many were left to languish on showroom floors, some dealers even converted them back to regular Roadrunners to get them sold. As is usually the case though, retrospect looks fondly on innovators and winners, and modern car collectors of every bred agree that the winged beast, only produced for one year, have become one of the most collectible and recognizable cars of all time. The Model: Originally planned to be a very limited production run, the first XK120 Roadsters when shown at the Earl’s Court Show received such attention from the media and show goers, including many more orders than the entire planned production run had been, that William Lyons soon switched all the development of his newly designed dual overhead cam six towards the sports car side of the business. Initially only an open two-seat roadster was offered but starting with 1952, a bit cozier cabin was created by the brilliantly styled fixed-head coupe. Sleek and beautifully styled the coupe would see a production run of 2,679, of which 2,484 were prepared in LHD configuration for export, most of those coming to the USA. Like the original XK120, the coupes were also capable of meeting the 120 MPH mark, reportedly the reason Lyons specified that number for the model designation. In 1954, NASCAR held a road-course race in New Jersey which would mark the only time a non-American built won a NASCAR event, the win going to an XK120 coupe.
The Car: The stunning English Silver coupe appears to be absolutely gorgeous in its execution and finish. All of the sheet metal panels line up at or above factory specifications and they appear to be laser-straight. This coupe is fitted with the optional fender spats, or skirts as we say in the USA, plus the stylish and easy to maintain disc wheels. Looking at the interior, the skillfully crafted steering wheel is the main attraction, but the wood finish on the dashboard appears to be as new, with outstanding natural patterns that work to frame the gauges. Seats are upholstered in camel tone leather with matching door panels while the floor covering appears to be of the finest wool available. Under the hood looks immaculate with the engine highly detailed including the alloy cam covers and even the SU carbs looking as new. Our consignor says this is the smoothest running XK120 that he has owned, and there have been a few predecessors in his garage. An outstanding car that has been seeing renewed interest from motoring enthusiasts around the world, the XK120 family was cutting edge when new and is cutting edge in style and grace today.

The Model: Vanquish has proven to be one of the most successful models ever developed and marketed by Aston Martin. The Model: The original Porsche 911, introduced in the autumn of 1963, was the bringing of a now famous, distinctive and durable design. The Porsche 911 design has been a consistent platform of improvements, studies, and resulting victories on the track. Mechanically, the 911 was notable for being a rear-engined, air-cooled performance-focused car, which also translated into a well-composed streetcar. The 911 series is often cited as being one of the most successful competition cars ever. Between 1972-1973, all models got a new larger 2,341cc ‘2.4’ engine. The 911 came in three model variants, the T model, with the 130 HP 2.4, the E with a 165 HP 2.4, and the S, topping the line, with a 190 HP 2.4. The Model: When introduced in 1996 the 550 Maranello was touted to be Ferraris exclusive model. The Marque: Cisitalia was founded by the bigger than life vision of Piero Dusio who paid to release Ferdinand Porsche from French Nazi prison to work under Cisitalia to created some of the most iconic and historically important post war European sport cars. This Car: This 1950 Cisitalia-Abarth 204A was raced by Tazio Nuvolari in two Grand Prix competitions in 1950: the Targa Florio and Palermo Monte Pellegrino. Recently, it was Classiche certified with the highest grade of originality by Abarth Co. as the first car registered by Carlo Abarth under Abarth Co. and certifying its serendipitously important history and originality. Created as one of the last cars that Ferdinand Porsche was involved in during his time in Cisitalia before establishing his own company and one of the last cars Cisitalia produced before Piero Dusio closed the legendary Cisitalia factory. Chassis 04/08 is fully documented with Abarth Classiche, FIA Passport, FIVA Card, original documents, extensive period photography, and the LUCE 1950 video showing Nuvolari driving this Cisitalia. With verified certificates of origin, it has documented racing pedigree of legendary magnitude. First raced at the 1950 Targa Florio by Tazio Nuvolari, it was the 1950 Palermo Monte Pellegrino race that would go down in history as the last race that Tazio Nuvolari participated in and won. In the 1950’s, it was raced in 18 major international races including Mille Miglia, Parma, Gran Premio di Napoli, Coppa Gallenga, Trullo d’Oro Bari, and the Buenos Aires 1000. After finishing its Grand Prix racing career, the car continued to be used in racing school training in Argentina until the late 1960’s. Its history is well known and documented since new with known ownership from its first owner in 1950, the newly formed Abarth & Co Factory, then in 1953 it was sold to E. Ferri for competition. In 1954, it was sold to J. Saggese and in 1958 its last competition owner was O. Silich. In the 1960’s it was owned by Asociación Argentina de Automóviles Sport as a traninig car for racing drivers. It was in 1978 that Señor Sergio Lugo purchased the car and became its longest caretaker. In 2009 he began the tedious task of restoration which was headed by marque specialist Jose Maria Pedota in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Restoration was completed in 2011 in time to register the car to participate once again in the 2012 Mille Miglia where it was awarded the Premio Speciale as the most historically significant entry that year. Once in Italy, it was displayed at the Museo Tazio Nuvolari and Museo dell’Automobile di Torino. It made the trip to America for its first time in history in 2013 when it was purchased by Mr. Russell Whiteis of California whom commissioned for the car to get its FIA passport and to be shown at the Quail Motorsports Gathering, Silverstone Classic, and Salon Prive Concours d’Elegance in London. .
The car’s most significant mark in automotive history was without a doubt the fact that it was driven in the last race that the legendary driver Tazio Nuvolari ever participated in and he deservedly won, finalizing one of the most important racing careers the world has ever known. Nuvolari’s racing career started in 1927 and accomplished more than 72 major victories and 150 in record, but it was this 204A Cisitalia-Abarth that successfully took him to his last winning podium in 1950 before “The Flying Mantuan” died in 1953 of natural causes. Nuvolari as one of the most important racing figures in history was respected and admired by all of his peers, including his greatest racing adversary Achille Varzi. At his funeral, none other than Juan Manuel Fangio and Alberto Ascari would help carry the coffin of their late hero Nuvolari. The Model: In 1899 the Bianchi brand was born in Milan, Italy. The company operated for 56 years building a wide array of products in addition to automobiles, including military vehicles and and a series of Mercedes-powered trucks. Then in 1955, following an alliance with Pirelli and Fiat, the company reorganized with the new brand focusing on a series of Fiat 500 variants. The company name was changed to Autobianchi, and the Bianchina was the first vehicle produced under the new venture.The Bianchina offered the reliable and familiar Fiat 500 mechanical components, but coupled them with luxurious levels of trim. In addition to the luxury, several mechanical upgrades were implemented, notable among which was the lowered suspension making for a sportier ride. And even it was powered by a diminutive two-cyclinder air-cooled engine, the Bianchina performed quite well topping out with a speed of 60 mph and a range of nearly 300 miles, while yielding surprising good fuel economy around 50 mpg.To add to the allure, the first body style produced was the ‘transformabile’, or semi-convertible, that featured a foldable fabric hood and suicide doors. The production was limited to only 10,000 units, and it didn’t take long for the Bianchini to be known as the rich man’s Fiat. Despite the quick success enjoyed by this first Bianchina model, it had a short lifespan which ended in 1962 with the release of the 4-seat saloon.
ot 42 L The Model: Just the year before this wonderful automobile was produced, Cadillac had been awarded the prestigious Dewar Trophy and had become the Standard of the World. Three identical 10 HP Cadillacs had been sent to England, totally disassembled down to every nut and bolt, had the parts scrambled into a big pile, then randomly separated. Then the parts were reassembled into three perfectly running automobiles, proving Cadillac’s precision in engineering was identical in each vehicle produced. While these cars had been of the single-cylinder variety, in 1909, Cadillac upgraded all of their models to a new 4-cylinder design that produced triple the previous season’s 10 HP output. Cadillac touted its degree of tolerance to be within 1/1,000th of an inch. For $1,600 the Cadillac customer received not only excellent coachwork and superb mechanics, but also Delco electrical distributor system and a Magneto, plus dry batteries, a taillight, oils side lamps, Presto-Lite gas headlamps, tire repair kit and tire irons as well as a tool kit, bulb horn, and a lap robe rail.

The Model: During the 1970’s when most domestic car companies were worried about MPG, Porsche was still concerned with MPH! This led to the development of one of the most potent machines ever built with the engine behind the driver and the road in front. Born out of the 911 program, the 930 Turbo was the fastest way to get from point-A to point-B and still be street legal. While it flew like a rocket, you only needed a driver license, not an FAA issued pilot license. With reported times of 0-to-60 in six seconds flat and top speeds out of the box at 160 MPH, it delivered everything you could want, except for somewhere that didn’t have a speed limit of 55, which was the law of the land. Each 930 Turbo engine was hand-assembled and tested before being placed in the car. Then “break-in” miles were applied at the factory to insure these cars were driver ready upon delivery. The Model: When four German automakers come together under one roof, there is bound to be innovation through design. So, when Audi, Horch, DKW and Wanderer coalesced to form Auto Union the products rolling off the line were often at the forefront of technology. Winklhofer & Jaenicke built vehicles since the turn of the century under the name Wanderer for its exports and eventually for all of it cars and. The company was constantly developing, starting with its small 4-cylinder engine and eventually had developed a 6-cylinder by the time the company was sold in 1932. While Horch was positioned as the conglomerate’s flagship, it was Audi and Wanderer that were providing the engineering innovation. When the Wanderer W25K made its debut in 1936, it looked like it belonged to the luxury line because of its elegant styling, with its low-slung lines and deep-cut doors, but it had the heart of a racer with its powerful 6-cylinder powerplant conceived by Ferdinand Porsche. Often fitted with a supercharger, it is believed that only about 250 examples of the W25K ever 100 left the factory.
The Car: When the designer gets the lines of an open-top sports car just right, it doesn’t need shiny paint or perfectly aligned panels to draw the attention of those who have a passion for relics. This wanderer did require some imagination, however, when Nascar legend, Ray Evernham found it in pieces. After he and his crew reassembled this rare example of pre-war sports cars, it has become clear that even after years of neglect this wanderer is every bit as exceptional as it was when it left the factory. This W25k is the perfect foundation for a complete restoration. While little is known about the history of this car, and research is ongoing, it is believed that the in-line 6-cylinder present in the engine bay is a non original variant. Much work will need to be done on the inside of the car to bring it back to life but the centerpiece of the interior, the elegant white-faced gauges still reside in the center of the dash. While this ultra-rare German will test the talents of any restorer, this Wanderer isn’t lost, and the finished product will undoubtedly be the highlight of any collection. 101

The Model: In the fall of 1988, Ford was ready to release the next generation of one of its star players, the new 1989 Thunderbird Super Coupe. When first released the T-bird had been promoted as a sporting personal car. Over the years that initial concept had morphed into making the model a personal luxury car. That attitude was about to be changed with this new car and it would be a woman at the wheel. Lyn St. James had winning in her blood and in 1981 she secured Ford Motor Company as her main sponsor. In 1988 Ford decided to take the Thunderbird to Talladega International Speedway in Alabama, where she and her team set an amazing 21 National, International, and World records. She also set a National Woman’s Speed Record clocked at 212.577 mph with a top speed of 232.400 mph, besting the old record by over 10 mph that she had set in 1985 in a Ford Mustang Probe. Her achievements were hailed when Sports Illustrated named her one of the Top 100 Female Athletes of the 20th Century, and she was invited to the White House to meet Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton. An accomplished woman and her efforts might have helped keep this basic T-bird platform alive up through the end of the 1997 season.
The Car: This is a one-of-a-kind, purpose race car built by the famous Elliott Racing Team under the direction of Ford Motor Company Special Vehicle Operations in 1988. Under the hood was a specially prepared Ford V8 built by engine builder Ernie Eilliott for the record attempt. The lightweight “Super Coupe” body shell sets on a tubular frame with a full roll cage. It is fitted the original race seat and a five-point safety belt. The car left the track and Ford often used it as a show car, and in 1995 it became the property of Lyn St. James. The car continued to be on display at numerous locations, including the Daytona 500 Experience and The Henry Ford Museum. It is still an operational car and ran the the hillclimb at the 2007 Goodwood Festival of Speed. It would be welcomed and easily displayed at major international events, museums, and concourses celebrating vintage motoring. There is official FIA documentaiton to supoprt the history of the car, as well as photographs and other memorabilia from the hiistoric event. There is also a documentary on DVD of the record attempt. This car is a tribute to a woman who was a pioneer in a field where where speed counts.

The Model: Never has a production automobile featured so many trendsetting ideas as did the design Gordon Beuhrig created for the Cords of 1936 and 1937. Let alone the innovative front-wheel drive, or the powerful Lycoming V8 under the hood, its elegance of design was simple, streamlined presenting low and sleek bodies, that were also quite roomy and very comfortable. Bodies were assembled by another of E.L. Cord’s holdings, Central Body located in Connersville, Indiana, with these sedans being one of the first to feature a full metal “turret” top. Had this design been created for a more conventional vehicle it would not have played nearly as well as it did on the Cord. Often referred to as the “Coffin-Nose” design, they were elegantly understated, no massive chrome grille, just a front end design that seemed to wrap the engine compartment before flowing into the elegant passenger cabin.Smooth fenders with headlights showing only when used at night created a seamless vision of beauty. Sadly, it was to be the last hurrah for Cord as the economies of the day just couldn’t produce a demand for such an elegant vehicle.

The Car: When new both the Beverly and Westchester sedans from Cord came with the same base price of $2,445. Mind you, at this same time a V8 Ford Deluxe Fordor Sedan would set you back less than one-third the cost of a Cord, so it was a fairly expensive car for the day. This 812 Westchester, with its smooth, flowing fastback-like design exudes the less-is-more concept that Buehrig was after. It was treated to a full restoration about 20 years ago and has been kept in excellent condition by a marque specialist. Fitted with a factory heater, as well as an instrument cluster filled with gauges including a clock and even proper radio, everything it right with this car. Finished in a rich maroon exterior color, the seat match in a color-keyed fine wool broadcloth including the fold-down armrests in for front and rear seat passengers. Under the hood features a fresh look restored to its original appearance including the proper fabric-shrouded ignition wires. One of the few concessions to modernization is the addition of a vintage Yankee turn-signal system. Reportedly, this Beverly sedan starts and runs with ease. Like all Cords, this 812 sedan is considered a “Full Classic� by the CCCA and would be welcomed at any A-C-D event. The Model: Homologation is a funny word, that has given us some of the best road going cars out there. In 1976 the desire to stand on the top of the podium, and the pesky FIA rulebook, finally forced Porsche to build what Americans always wanted: A Porsche that could hold its own down the straights. We wanted POWER. The product of tinkering in the Porsche R&D shop, that began in the 1960s, the 930 had it all with the addition of a turbo to the base 911. It was nimble and had the zip of a turbocharged 3-liter engine. The combination that put out 280-horsepower, has become a bit of an urban legend with tales of unbridled tail-whipping power when the turbo “kicked in.” Perhaps exaggerated, the stories of power and handling were enough to sell the upgraded sports cars until 1989. With power peaking at a still respectable 330-horsepower, the path to Porsche’s modern machines was clear. Thirty-some-odd years later, the Porsche 911 is an all-turbo line, ceasing production of anything that breathes on its own in 2017.

The Model: When Ferrari introduced the 458 Italia for 2010, the press declared it to be a new day. While it wasn’t cheap by any means, it was still way under the seven-figure mark and, and its acceptance was legion. In 2014, technology had advanced to the point that Ferrari needed an updated package for this stunning car, thus was born the 458 Speciale. First the engine was given some revisions featuring a new carbon-fiber airbox and intake manifold, the combustion chambers were reworks and new pistons, reshaped intake port and runners, plus higher lift intake and exhaust valves were all combined to raise this engine to a 14:1 compression ratio which ultimately added 37 HP to the base 458’s engine. Ventilation doors that are spring-loaded and placed on either side of the car, open at 105 mph, which redirects the airflow front over the radiator to a maze that eventually send the air under the car that tilts the downforce balance in the direction of the rear axle. This car is wild enough to do over 200 mph, and yet tame enough to be driven in everyday traffic.

The Car: Appearing in many ways to be brand new, this exquisite example of one of the most potent Ferrari road cars ever built has what it takes. The Model –Lancia’s Flavia program started in 1963 with several different body styles all finely crafted by various Italian coachbuilders. The production Coupe was supplied by Pininfarina and more than one casual observer has noted the marked similarity to these sporty coupes to the Ferrari 250GTE. Lancia’s engineering was a bit unconventional for the time, employing a horizontally opposed four-cylinder arrangement, and as the model continued to progress in the market the displacement continued to rise. When first released these engines were fed the fuel through a twin-throat Solex carburetor, of which many owners switched over to a Weber carb for more reliability. Then in 1965, when the displacement was enlarged to 1800cc, the Kugelfischer fuel injection unit was made available which put these little Lancia’s front-and-center for a number road rally events. Today an original Kugelfischer injection system is a highly prized item for those who collect and cherish superb performance options.
The Car – This Flavia coupe was given a recent exterior respray in its original Platinum finish. Recently brought to the USA, the original interior is still fitted with those luxurious tufted leather seats in red. A quick inspection of the body does not reveal any outward signs of rust or corrosion. Under the hood, you find a well-maintained vehicle which has recently been tuned up and just the right about of patina one might expect for a 50-year-old car. Looking at the odometer it shows under 76,000 KM (about 47,200 miles) and is believed to be from new based on the condition of the car. A full assortment of gauges are found in the dashboard, but we do note that the real wood veneer facing is in need of refinishing. While showing their age the leather seats appear to be serviceable and could be well preserved. The Model: When Dodge released the charger as their intermediate-sized car in 1966, the car looked fast with its fastback design, but sales were sluggish. Car buyers apparently liked the redesign for 1968 as sales picked up for the second generation of the model. Dodges second redesign for the Charger hit the street in 1971 and featured a beefer design that reverted back to the fastback design. The Car: NASCAR was in it heyday in the late 60’s and early 70’s as the sport’s popularity exploded. One driver to emerge from the era was James Hylton who made his first start in 1964 and didn’t stop racing until he ran his last race in 2011. Race cars from the top series from the era were often passed down and rebuilt until they were no longer competitive at which point they are often left to die. This Charger, piloted by hylton,however, remains just the way it finished its last race. It was taken from the track and put into storage. Nothing has been changed, reworked, recreated or fitted in this time capsule, right down to the driver’s water bottle, still in the car. The NASCAR style Hemi engine under the hood has been tuned up and refreshed, brought back to life by another NASCAR legend, Ray Evernham. This piece of racing history is extremely well documented and was featured in the 1977 movie “Grease Lightning” as well as in an upcoming episode of Evernham’s Show “Americarna”. True historic pieces of racing history are few and far between and this genuine racer will fit right in as part of any top-notch collection.

The Model: Iso had a long-established history of providing automobiles that were needed for a recovering European continent after WWII. They had created one of the most popular micro-cars, the Isetta, which was produced under license to great success by BMW in Germany and several other international car makers. By the early 1960’s, Iso wanted to produce a grand tourer and turned to the talents of Giorgetto Giugiaro who was employed at the time by renowned body suppliers to several Italian marques, Bertone. Aiming for the American market, this four-passenger car would be powered by a Corvette V8 supplied directly from Chevrolet. It was to be a family sports car with a very limited production run. From 1962 to 1969 a very limited 799 copies were produced.

The Car: Rarely does a Rivolta come to the auction-block in America. This example recently arrived in the USA from Europe where it had been given a comprehensive restoration on what was reported to be a solid and original coupe. Finished in bright red, it brings out the lines Giudiaro developed for this car. The interior was left in its original state, fitted with black pleated leather seating surfaces. The dashboard is equipped with a full set of gauges including a full size speedometer in kilos, plus a tachometer, both emblazoned with the Iso Rivolta name. It is fitted with a set of Borani knock-off chrome wire wheels fitted with fresh rubber and has been given a recent tune-up. With the all-synchro Borg-Warner 4-speed transmission, this coupe has the potential to really turn head and make other driver’s envious when they hear that Chevrolet small-block winding out. All of the lure of a Ferrari, and the power and reliability of a Corvette, there is little more one could ask for in a fine Italian sports coupe.

The Model: Climbing up family trees can be fun and interesting, especially when tracing the roots of a vintage automobile. One of America’s most successful pioneer automakers was Thomas Jeffrey, who unlike many others in these early days of motoring, did not apply his name to the horseless carriages he was producing. His claim to fame was the Rambler, first applied to a line of fine bicycles starting in 1897, and then to a line of early automobiles that won praise by customers and the press alike, starting in 1900. Rambler continued to develop and improve upon their designs. Thomas Jeffrey may have been the founder, but he had a lot of encouragement and contributions from his very talented son Charles. When the senior Jeffrey died in 1910, his son took over the operations and continue to build on the solid foundation. When the improved 1912 models were released, they presented all the latest in automotive technology for the day. Thanks to the creative genius of Ned Jordan, the new Ramblers had names that invoked visions of speed and durability, hence the moniker Cross-Country was applied to these handsome touring cars. The Car: This outstanding example of the Rambler Cross-Country is ready to tour wherever you want to travel. The Model: In 1956, Maserati announced to new big engines, a 3.5 Liter in-line six and a revolutionary 4.5 Liter V8. Taking a starring role in the world of racing was the very limited production 450S. It attracted names like Behra, Moss and Fangio, who all took turns behind the wheel of these impressive vehicles. Even an American legend, Carroll Shelby drove a 450S, a car that he affectionately nicknamed “Big Hawg”. Compared to most of the post-war racing machines produced by Maserati, which were in the 1.5 to 3.0 Liter range, these were massive cars. Maserati produced just nine of these cars and each one carried unique features that set them apart from the others. Unfortunately, being competition vehicles several of them suffered major damage and were either scrapped or destroyed. It is felt among experts that is one of these cars were to come to the market today, it would be valued at between six to eight million dollars, and those numbers are probably on the conservative side. The Model: In 1930, Cadillac made headlines around the world when they introduced the mighty V16. Unfortunately, it was a stellar car introduced at the on-set on one of the worst financial crises in history resulting in a lack of sales. Undaunted, a few months later, Cadillac’s Chief Engineer Ernest Seaholm, announced another new break-through, the Model 370 V12 series. Effectively it was the same basic engine as the V16, with four fewer cylinders. By 1933, V16 production had slowed to only confirmed orders while the V12 was finding some marketing success even though just 952 units were produced that year. Among the exclusive body styles offered on the V12 chassis was the Town Coupe which could comfortably accommodate 4-passengers, or 5 if needed, and presented a smart and appealing design.
The Car - It last changed hands in the late 1960’s while our consignor was residing in Wisconsin. It was a fully operational vehicle and he and his wife showed the car at several events including meetings of the Cadillac-LaSalle Club. Several reasons including health necessitated a move to Texas, so the Town Coupe was moved to its new spread where it was placed in a barn to curate for over four decades. Finished in Classic Blue, the lines on this car are remarkable and it retains all of its original running gear. The interior appears to be mostly original with gray-stripe broadcloth fabric covering the seats and side panels, while the original headliner remains in place. While it lived in a somewhat protected environment, there are still expected signs of aging on this 82-year-old classic. The motor has been started since being extracted from the Barn and vehicle was recently driven a very short distance. It is offered as running barn-find which will still need further attention to make it road worthy. The Model: Ferrari’s new 308 had the difficult task of replacing the popular 246 Dino in Maranello’s lineup. When the new car was first spotted during initial testing, rumors flew about the new Dino. Howard “Dutch” Darrin, who had been instrumental in the styling of Kaiser, came up with an idea that seemed to fly. Using the chassis and running gear of the discontinued Henry J Corsair, he would create a limited production fiberglass roadster. With the designs wrapped up, it didn’t take long for a company already experienced in the art of crafting car bodies in fiberglass. Glasspar located in Santa Ana, California had found moderate success by selling their own roadster bodied kit cars that were designed for Ford chassis. This company had more experience with this new lightweight, yet sturdy material and the bodies produced were considered to have better fit and finish that the first year of the Corvette roadster. With conventional drive, chassis and suspension, the KD161 most unique feature had to be the pocket-door design where both doors slid effortlessly into the front fenders. This would turn out to be the last hurrah for Kaiser with the marque disappearing just a few weeks after the 1955 full-size sedans had gone into production. The Car: According to the consignor, this is an ultra-rare example of a very rare model. Finished in its original Radiant Red, the interior is finished with comfortable and form fitted leather surfaces done in an original hue of Ivory, while a recently installed folding top has been done in white. Reported this car is a black to drive, with the little in-line six producing plenty of power to propel this sporty roadster down the road. Imagine the admiring looks you will get when you arrive at a social function behind the wheel of this unique and quite attractive looking sports car and the amazement people will express as you “slide” open the doors. Glasspar was a leader in the fiberglass world when “Dutch” Darrin came to them with this project. With a limited production of 430 units, owning one of these cars when they were new was an honor. The Model: It seemed that the world had turned against convertibles just as America was getting ready to celebrate its 200th birthday. At the beginning of the 1976 season, it was announced that would be the end full-size, factory designed and built convertibles. Chrysler had built its last open car in 1971, Ford followed two years later in 1973. All of the other GM brands, including the sporty Chevrolet Corvette, had seen their last convertibles in 1975. Only Cadillac remained and its production. Once this announcement was made, the orders started to fly into Detroit like crazy. It was decided that Eldorado production would be limited to 14,000 units, which it was. However, this was a major boost in sales compared to the 8,950 produced for 1975! These cars were big, powerful and loaded with all the whistles and bells, or should we say “chimes” as this is a Cadillac. Despite major concerns about fuel economy, those who had the money still wanted luxury and these cars were still the most exciting ride available. With an average delivered price of around $13,000, they were not cheap, but then nothing with the quality of Cadillac is ever cheap. 128
The Car: Taken care of from day one, this Galloway Green Eldorado Convertible is the epitome of mid-1970’s culture. As with all of these glorious land yachts of the mid-1970’s it is loaded with features that were either extra-cost on lesser models or not available at all. Power assisted steering and brakes is a must, as are the power windows, front driver’s seat, radio antenna and of course the convertible top which stows completely away when lowered and concealed under the hard-shell parade boot. These cars presented a handsome profile with the top up or down and the color combination on this example displaying pure white leather seating surfaces with color coordinated green accents look to be as new as one could expect from a 40-year old vehicle. This example is a very well preserved original car and the front fender and quarter panel extension are original to the car and appear to be in excellent condition. Other amenities include cruise control as well as climate control with heating and air conditioning and of course a Delco AM-FM radio. Under the hood has not been altered in any way from when it left the Detroit assembly line, with the exception of fresh filters and a new battery. A time capsule that represented the end of an era at Cadillac, this is one car that can be shown and displayed with pride.

The Model: When Donald Healey created his first sports car it didn’t take long for privateers to enter variations of his machines into a wide range of competitive events. By the time the 3000 series was introduced in 1959, Austin-Healey’s were already legendary around the world. While some complaints were filed early-on about the difficulty of the triple-carburetion set-up of the BN7, a properly trained mechanic can make this combination work together to produce a most exhilarating ride. The BN7 roadster would be produced up through the 1962 model year and would be the last of a true open two-seat roadster from Austin-Healey. Keeping things simple and staying to a basic plan of producing a reliable and fun machine helped produce a long line of satisfied customers. This enthusiasm for the marque has continued through-out the years and in the world of vintage racing, we have never attended an event where there wasn’t a dedicated contingency of Austin-Healey fans, and the BN7 continues to be a most sought-after model.
The Car: Our consignor told us this car was built to perform and deliver by a private individual who obsessed over making this car every bit the performance vehicle it could be. Up front the stock bumper had been replaced by a pair of Lucas driving lights, and to help keep the hood closed at speed, a leather belt has been added. Plexiglas wind-wings have been added to deflect the win, and the seats are finished in beige leather. It is equipped with a tan folding top along with a very hard to find removable hardtop, plus pop-in windscreens. The up-graded sport-wheels provide a platform for a set of modern radial tires that grip the road and allow for excellent control on the road. With the exception of those all-important gauges on the dashboard, the only other controls are for the heater-defroster to help keep the occupants warm on a cool morning run. Reported to be in excellent condition, the consignor did tell us that the removable hardtop would benefit from a restoration. Sporty and exhilarating, this Austin-Healey presents a perfect opportunity to acquire a car that will be welcomed on the road or at a vintage race or rally event.

The Model: When Ferrari replaced what was a well-liked car, the F430, they started from scratch,debuting the F458 at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2009. The new car featured sleek, modern lines and was powered by a direct-injection V8, a first for the company’s mid-engined cars. While some balked at the lack of a manual transmission, the car’s performance was undeniable. Every once in awhile, a car company makes something that is truly special, and even less frequently they continue to make it better. When Ferrari replaced the F430 with the F458, anyone who was lucky enough to get behind the wheel of one was pretty sure that Ferrari had created an almost perfect car. But then 2011 rolled around and Ferrari upped the ante. They added a button you could push to make the car do a little dance that’s end result was a topless version of the car you started with. Often, the “real car guys” won’t take a second look at the convertible version of a sports car, saying they weigh more and don’t handle as well. Well, Ferarri shhhed those nay-sayers with the F458 Spider. All of the reinforcements and mechanical gadgetry that make the top tuck away neatly behind the driver only add 100 pounds to the 570 hp car. So how much did it affect the zero to 60 time? It didn’t, both the hardtop and soft top versions blast to 60 MPH in 2.9 seconds. The Car:The Rosso Corsa paint laid at the Maranello factory remains nearly perfect on this drop-top Ferrari, contrasted nicely by giant yellow brake calipers. Inside, you’ll find a virtually unused space that vaguely resembles the cockpit of a fighter jet, if you covered it in fine Italian-leather and Alcantara. With just under 10 thousand miles this Italian is ready to stretch its legs and run. The Model: When Ford’s Model 18 hit the streets in 1932, long before they gained popularity among hot-rodders, they were notable for being the first mass-produced car with a V8. The now iconic “Flathead Ford” engine started in 1932 with 65 HP but due to advances in carburation and ignition the little V8s were pumping out 85 HP by 1934. The Ford V8 platform became popular with hot-rodders and over the years has become an American icon. As Iconic as the cars themselves are the people that built the cars that defined the genre. “Wasted” Willy Glass is one of those characters. His mastery of the flathead Ford let him build big HP cars that would rival anything on the road. He even set a land-speed record at over 200 MPH; an impressive feat after your 70th birthday.
The Car: This very subtle hotrod was Willy Glass personal car, and it shows. A find of epic proportions, this classic look hot rod remains just the way glass built it. The 231Ci flathead V8 was fitted by Glass, in the heart of the hotrod era, with a set of Edmunds heads and intake manifold that he topped with a set of Stromberg carburetors. Odometer: 23,895 Actual The Model - When it came time for Ferrari to replace the iconic 328, Pininfarina set to work capturing the design cues of the 12 cylinder models to ensure the new 348 was unmistakable as a Ferrari. The sensational side strakes of the Testarossa transformed the lines of the new 348 when it was unveiled in 1989. Mechanically, Ferrari now mounted the quad-cam V8 longitudinally for a much lower center of gravity and placed the transmission in a transverse position. In its original form, the 348 produced 300 hp. In 1993 and 1994 Ferrari built just 100 examples of this special high-performance version of its 348 model, the “Serie Speciale”. This super 348 had power output increased to 315 bhp, revised gearing for quicker acceleration, improved rear suspension geometry with a 50mm wider track and a special ‘Challenge’ style splitter front spoiler. The rare Serie Speciale cars are also quite distinct in appearance from ordinary 348s with unique front grill, tail lights and body-colored spoiler, bumpers, rocker covers and engine lid, as well as unique leather, covered door panels and Serie Speciale badging, none of which is shared with regular 348s. Of the 100 high-performance Serie Speciale models produced, just 65 were convertible Targa models. The Car – This incredible 348 ts Serie Speciale is one of only 65 open cars produced and it is believed to be one of just 6 examples produced in the triple black color scheme. Absolutely beautiful in every respect, this ultra-rare high-performance Ferrari is road ready and incredibly well maintained. ot 68 L The Model: Without a doubt, Gordon Beuhrig’s fabulous design for the 1936-37 Cords was an instant classic. It was a total departure from everything else on the road with it “coffin-nose” design, concealed headlamps and at the owner’s request, those exhaust tubes coming out of the side of the engine compartment. Two different styles of open cars were offered in this line-up, a convertible coupe and for full five-passenger comfort, the convertible Phaeton. This model was really closer related to a Victoria style convertible as the rear windows could be removed and with the top up, a certain aura of privacy was given. While Cord’s were assembled at the company headquarters in Auburn, Indiana, the bodies were produced down the road in Connersville by another company owned by E. L. Cord, Central Body. Their ability to replicate Buehrig’s design was flawless, and yet the customer could still make custom requests that Central could fulfill.

It would be their attempt to dominate the sports car market, and it did take leaps and bounds in modernizing their flagship sports car. The C4 ushered in modern suspension, tuned port fuel injection and a more subdued shape with celebrated aerodynamics that offered a fresh American Sports Car from the dated lines of the C3. Partnering with the Lotus Group, the Corvette folks developed what would be the heart of the ZR-1, the all-new LT-5. The wildly modern engine design was powerful and reasonably efficient with 16 injectors, which at full blast delivered 405 HP to the 275/40ZR17s on the 11-inch wheels. In order to house those extra meaty tires, the designers gave the ZR-1 its most distinguishing feature by widening the car. Suspension upgrades were also made, making the ZR-1 handle as well as it accelerated. It should be noted that its MSRP price tag was nearly double from the base model and customers were known to have paid in excess of $20,000 above MSRP to get their hands on a ZR-1.

The Model: What can you say about Aston Martin, except they know class and they know sports cars? When first released it carried all the classic lines, long hood, swept-back windshield, short rear deck and typical angular body lines. The Model: Looking for a totally new direction in design, Rolls-Royce turned the John P. Blatchley for a new look to their luxury automobiles. From the beginning of this line a drop-head coupe had been incorporated into the mix, but it wasn’t until 1971 that these special cars, as well as a limited run of fixed-head coupes, would receive the name Corniche. Over the years the Corniche saw a number of improvements, a slightly longer wheelbase, improve steering with rack in pinion starting with 1977. Most every motoring accessory or convenience was a part of the Corniche package with the real options boiling down to exterior colors and custom ordered interior appointments and décor. With the Series II introduced in 1986, which saw improved braking, refinements in the electronics and federally required collision avoidance lights on the rear deck. The Corniche was not just a convertible, but a luxurious one at that. When American car makers stop producing open cars, the market for Corniche was left wide open for those in the ultra-luxury car market. With padded tops, tons of sound insulation and peppy performance from their own V8, Rolls-Royce scored a winner, with the basic styling surviving 30 years in production.
The Car: This beautiful example is one 1,234 Series II Corniche convertibles produced. It is finished in out-standing shade of Olde English White complimented by a plush seats covered camel-tone full leather featuring ivory whipcord. The Everlast top is done in light tan and appears to be a fairly recent installation. According to our consignor this Corniche II started life in Southern California where it was constantly maintained by marque specialists. On a recent in-depth inspection no sign of any body maladies were detected. Mechanically this convertible performs as one would expect a car of this caliber to perform, quick, responsive, quiet and silent. The top rises and lowers as designed, with it folding neatly into the rear boot when down, or smooth and snug when raised. All of the power amenities are all sorted and reported to be in excellent condition aside from the passenger side seat. As a bonus all of the books and manuals as well as an assortment of receipts and other documents are included. The Model: Ferrari engaged Pininfarina design legend, Leonardo Fioravanti, to pen what has become one of Ferrari’s most iconic shapes as a replacement for the popular 246 Dino. The Model: One of the most legendary automobiles produced, as least in post-war history, was the Porsche 550 Spyder. These were not your average sports car, they were built for those who wanted to be involved in competition events. Porsche in itself was a revolutionary vehicle with its unit-chassis and body construction and rear-engine over the drive-wheels set-up. The 550’s body design was more aerodynamically efficient than the more affordable 356 Speedsters of the day, with very little shared between the two models. Probably the most famous of all 550’s was the ‘Lil Bastard”, owner by screen legend James Dean. That is the car he was driving when he was killed in a traffic collision while traveling to a race in Central California. Porsche would only construct a total of 90 550 Spyders. If the world wanted more, they would have to wait for a couple of decades and then settle for a replica.

The Car: One of the first to pull molds from a 550 Spyder so as to create a fiberglass body was CMI. However, the original car they took the molds from had some major flaws and body damage. Only about 10 CMI cars were created and then the molds ended up with Marvin Simes and Chuck Eiler under their name of Prestige Classics. Skilled in the restoration of authentic 356 models, they correct the flaws and set about to produce a perfect clone. However, only a handful were produced before Simes passed away and production ceased. This is one of those CMI/Prestige based 550 Spyders. It is mounted on a Volkswagen chassis and powered by a stock 1584cc engine. Finished in Alpine White and fitted with a pair of bucket seats in red, this car appears to be in solid condition and is reported to run out quite well. Riding on chrome wheels with Porsche hubcaps, this vehicle can be a lot of fun for not a lot of money. Agile and nimble with tamed performance, the 550 Spyder replica could serve as the gateway for better things to come.

The Model: Everything about this car is “super”. Super handling, super sleek, super-fast and as the name itself implied, super light. When Lamborghini unveiled the Gallardo in 2004, it was hailed as one of the greatest supercars ever. A modern, powerful new V10 powered these cars which featured on-demand all-wheel drive that engaged automatically when the rear wheels start to slip, plus a body design that was second to none in stealthy sleekness. Then in 2008, they upped the ante a bit with the Superleggera. First, they tweaked the 5.0L V10 a bit and squeezed out another 11 HP by improving the intake, exhaust, and ECU, then they shaved all unnecessary weight taking off 70 kilograms, or a little over 150 pounds by substituting carbon-fiber for such components as the central tunnel, rear air diffuser and interior door panel, seat buckets plus little things like using titanium wheel nuts. There were a few extras such as carbon ceramic disc brakes which added $15,600 to the base price. A couple more “supers” related to this model, it was in production for less than six months, a super short period and just 172 of these unique vehicles were produced, making it super-rare. The Car: Whoever said “you can never get too much of a good thing” must have experienced a ride behind the wheel of a Superleggera. Of the 172 produced only 37 of them were finished in Nero Noctis, or Black, and adorned with the matte-black stripes and markings. The special light-weight sport seats are covered in the highest quality of suede leather, a treatment that extends to the massive dashboard. After careful inspection, everywhere you look the Superleggera appears to be a new car. Riding on specially constructed lightweight 19” wheels the Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires show little wear. Our consignor tells us that all required maintenance has been performed and all books and records are included. As one of the most powerful cars ever produced and flawlessly engineered, this is a car that was built for a person who likes, no, make that “loves” to drive. It provides the feel of the road and at the same time makes other sit up and take notice, even in a sea of supercars!

The Model: Distinguished by its “dorsal fin�, used to rivet the body panels together, the Bugatti Type 57 Atlantic was the masterpiece of the Jean Bugatti. The Type 57 Bugattis were given highly modified versions of the type 49 engine, throwing away the chains that formerly drove the twin cams and replacing them with a much more precise gear drive system. Bugatti only produced four of the aluminum bodied Atlantics and only two still exist. One of the existing examples is owned by Ralph Lauren and has been valued at over 40 million dollars. The other is being kept in the Mullin Museum in Oxnard, CA. With only two examples available and a presumably cost prohibitive price tag, the door has been left wide open for coachbuilders to recreate interpretations of this beautiful design. 152 W W W. The Car: When Terry Cook, former editor of Hot Rod magazine and Car Craft Magazine, took on the task of building this car, he brought years of custom car knowledge with him. He knew what he wanted was not an exact copy of Jean Bugatti’s car, but rather a sort of rolling sculpture that would pay homage to both its designer and its most well known owner, Ralph Lauren. The process of hand sculpting a final product out of carbon fiber was a process that would take builders four years to complete, ending with several coats of House of Kolor jet black paint. The Pacific is noticeably longer than the original, 10 inches to be exact, giving the interior a spacious feel that is roomy enough for any of the NBA’s starting forwards. The upholstery was handpicked by Cook after scouring New York, eventually finding the brocade fabric in an antique warehouse. The fabric was then laid over the exact copies of the tubular stainless steel seat frames that were used in Lauren’s Bugatti. A graceful BMW V12 resides under the hood and is no less pleasant to look at than the sweeping lines of the body. Paired with an electronic 4 speed transmission the power is finally passed to the wire wheels through a Ford nine inch gear. This Pacific exudes grace and beauty. It has even been remarked, several times, that this stunning piece with its wider body and longer flowing lines, is a worthy bespoke tribute to the stunning Jean Bugatti’s design. The Model: In early 1955, just as the quickly re-worked the 1956 Chevrolets had been finalized, work was started on the 1957 edition. Corporate HQ had already dictated that 1957 would have to be face-lift of the 1956, that’s all that was in the budget. Rumors were flying that the other two members of the low-priced three would have brand new cars with ground-breaking designs. Mackichan’s team went to work and the finished product was a master-piece. Only because Ford pushed to produce and dump low-line models on their dealers, did the best Chevrolet’s numbers, and then only by a slim margin. The iconic look of the Chevrolet, with its impressive and beautiful up-front grille and bumper design, the the finely crafted and distinctive side trim, made the 1957 Belair and instant classic. To celebrate this new look the popular smallblock V8 introduced in 1955, was enlarged to 283 cubic inches and came in six flavors of horsepower. From the base two-barrel, the Power-Pack 4-barrel, a pair of dual four-barrel engines and another pair of V8’s with fuel-injection, made Chevrolet the car performance minded buyers most often turned to. The Model: By 1929, Cadillac had become an industry leader and in the luxury market was always at the top of the list. With smart styling coming from Harley Earl’s studio full of the finest talents Detroit could find, the offering of body styles was almost mind-boggling. GM’s Fisher Body Division presented a total of twelve different models to choose from, all mounted on the 140” wheelbase of these massive machines. The Car: The history of this car has been lost to the ages. According to the build tag on the firewall, it appears this vehicle started life as a Fisher bodied 4-door sedan. Along the way it acquired a rather attractive Victoria Convertible coachwork. While this body is carrying a Fleetwood badge, despite the long list of catalog offerings from this prestigious coach building division, there is no listing for this body style. Basic lines appear to follow the styling seen in Waterhouse designs, but overall presents a rather unique, yet trendy look. Finished in a butterscotch tan with black leathers seats and a fully functional tan soft top. It is mounted on an original 1929 Cadillac chassis with original style fenders, headlights, hood and that trademark radiator shell. Riding on a set of wooden spoke wheels, the wide-whitewall tires lend to that classic aire of its appearance. The Model: Only a handful of the M-series Stutz cars were produced for 1931, and this is believed to be one of less than five Cabriolets that still exist. From the same marque who produced the Blackhawk and Bearcat early day sports car, the SV16 had come from quite a lineage of performance vehicles. The SV-16 which had been developed by Charles Greuter, a Swiss native who had been with Stutz for a number years, it features the Bijur lubrication system, nine main bearings, overhead cam unit and dual spark plugs for each cylinder. While officially rated at 113HP by the factory, many feel that number was dialed down a bit so as to make the Stutz star engine, the DV32, appear to have a much higher power advantage. These powerful engines were still capable of powering these mighty machines of up to 90 miles an hour, and for swift-sure stopping power, hydraulic brakes were standard equipment. It is kind of sad to think that some of the finest machines produced by Stutz, as well as a number of other American classics, were created during one of America’s darkest economic times. The Car: This incredible machine appears to have been treated to a fairly in-depth restoration several decades ago, but today, stands as a testament to how America’s industrial growth was founded upon firm and exacting standards. The SV16 shared the same basic chassis and bodywork as did the more powerful models, and it is said that the series M engine cars were superior in handling, performance, and reliability. Finished in a please Dove Gray the body features red highlights as well as wire wheels and the center of the grill display this same dramatic hue. Seats and door panels are finished in a matching gray leather material while the folding top is done in black. The brightwork shines brightly, including the trademarked mascot, the Sun God Ra from Egyptian mythology. These cars are big, riding on a 137.5” wheelbase, so there is plenty of room for passengers up front, a couple of friends in the rumble seat and still have room for a set of golf clubs and a picnic basket. The Model: It is kind of hard to believe that Porsche’s popular 356 Speedsters actually came from an idea of an American. Max Hoffman of New York was the leader with the importation of German built sports vehicles. In the early 1950’s, he approached Porsche and told them that if they could produce a lightweight, bare-bones sports roadster, they would sell well in the USA. Porsche listened, created the Speedster and they did as Hoffman had predicted, sold well. Sleek, lightweight, no fancy appointments, not even windows in the doors, these cars became legends and were somewhat affordable by privateers who wanted to go racing but had a budget to maintain. Starting in the late 1980’s, replicas of these little Speedsters started to appear, proving that greatness spawns imitators. The Car: This recreation is based on a Volkswagen Beetle Coupe’s chassis and is titled as 1972 VW. Under the engine cover sits a built 1600 cc, horizontally opposed 4-cylinder crate engine. With construction of this car completed within the past couple of months, it is fresh and ready for the road, a professional quality build that look like the original and performs on a par with those produced back in the 1950’s. 1999 Ferrari F355 F1 Spider Designer: Pininfarina
The Model: Had Ferrari named the 355 following the previous formula it would have been the 358, but the engine builders in Maranello thought their revolutionary new five-valve head design should have its time in the spotlight. The additional intake valve did crank power in the flat-plane V-8 up to 355 HP. The longitudinal V8 is nestled comfortably behind the cockpit in one of the three body styles available. Initially, the designers at Pininfarina offered only two body styles, the coupe and the targa, with the ragtopped spider coming along in 1995. Drivability was the focus for the newest pony in the Italianâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s stable. The monocoque chassis used tubular subframe and independent front and rear suspension. The 355 would also feature power steering to add to the streetability of their new sports car.

The Model: It was a cold January morning in 1953 when the newly elected President, Dwight Eisenhower, rode down Pennsylvania Avenue, that many Americans caught a glimpse of a brand-new luxury convertible, the Cadillac Eldorado. For the first three years of the Eldorado’s life, it was not only the highest priced domestic car on the market, it was also available only as a convertible. That changed for 1956 with the introduction of the Seville hardtop. Based on the Coupe de Ville, the Seville had luxury appointments that placed it well ahead of the competition. Priced on a par with the convertible it featured a full array of power amenities such as steering, brakes, windows, seats and even a powered radio antenna. A specially anodized golden grille was available at no extra cost, as were the unique Sabre wheels, available in polished aluminum or in gold tone, either available at no extra cost. About the only accessory one could order was air-conditioning. With a base price of $6,711, the extra $538 for keeping the car cool was less than 10% of the total cost. Interiors were appointed in all leather, however, a fabric inserts were available for the Seville. Best of all was the special Eldorado engine, fitted with dual four-barrel carburetors rated at 305 HP, which was about as powerful as any other American car. Just, 2,150 Sevilles were produced in the model’s premiere year, and while not a money-maker for the brand, it was an image-maker that was positive in every way.
The Car: Finished in its original Bahama Blue, accompanied by the gleaming white Vicodee fabric roof, this example of the 1956 Seville is picture perfect. So stunning is this color combination that this selection was used in a number of factory brochures and advertisements for the best that Cadillac had to offer. It is fitted with all the power accessories that were standard, such as power steering and brakes, as well as windows and a six-way power front seat. It is also fitted with the optional air conditioning, which was a “must” when meeting the social elite. While the original owner opted for the less flamboyant golden grille, they did opt for the gold-tone Sabre wheels which really sets off the visual impact of this fabulous ride. The interior in finished in a two-tone of blue and gray leathers and all of the interior extras appear to be in excellent condition. Showing just under 34,100 miles, which are believed to be from new, this is an outstanding example of America’s leadership in the world of automotive production during the mid-1950’s. Eldorado’s styling in 1956 set it apart from the rest of the Cadillac line with rear end design that was a signal to what was coming in future years. The Eldorado Seville was an instant classic, bringing the most luxurious ride on wheels into hardtop beauty for the very first time, and this example deserves to be in a collection of only the finest quality. 165

The Marque: The RP4 was the first sports car design offered by the English racing car company Royale, which was known at the time for building quick Formula Fords. It was designed by Bob Marston to compete in the Firestone sponsored F100 championship in 1970. At that time, the challenge in building a successful 2 seater sports racer, was making the chassis stiff enough with the large open cockpit in the middle of the car. Marston’s idea was to build a light tubular space frame and wrap the center section with stressed aluminum panels to produce a semi-monocoque frame. This kept the center of the car from flexing. He then added the suspension from the proven RP-3 formula Ford and covered the whole thing in very attractive fiberglass bodywork. Power came from a 1300cc pushrod Ford 4 cylinder engine and a Hewland 4-speed gearbox. Over the years, the car was upgraded to 1600cc and 5-speed gearboxes, with the final version being the RP-6, which had wider wheels and tires, a lower profile nose and fender flares. In 1970, Royale driver Ray Allen was virtually unbeatable in the F100 championship, winning nearly every race. “That was a great little car,” he said. “It was quick straight out of the box and I had absolutely no trouble winning the championship. You just couldn’t go wrong with that car”. The same can certainly be said today, as the car is still a killer in its class in vintage racing.
The Car: The RP4 eing offered here was owned and campaigned by Hugh Kleinpeter, former owner of Royale USA. Since 1999, the car has been in the care of Andy Greene Sports & Vintage Race Cars, LLC, which upgraded, sorted and campaigned the car for several owners. It has 14 first place finishes, and one championship to its credit in HSR. The current specs are; 200+HP Lotus twin cam engine, with alloy block, built by Savannah Race Engineering. It has a Hewland MK8 5-speed gearbox, upgraded front brakes, right-hand shift conversion, Koni shocks, RP-6 suspension upgrades, CV joint axles and more aerodynamic RP6 nose at 1050 lbs. it’s ready to race. The car was completely gone over in 2014, with a new fuel cell, rebuilt shocks, new aluminum radiator, and a new nose. In 2016, Elliot Forbes Robinson drove the car in the Mitty at Rd. Atlanta, and beat Doc Bundy in a Lotus 23B in a great fight for the group 3 win. With the right driver, this car is a proven winner in group 3 and the Vintage Enduro series in HSR.

The Model: After the Porsche 917 had been banned, Porsche went to work to develop a competition vehicle that was based on its production 911 platform. When the RS was released for 1972, it was considered nearly unbeatable. Dedicated to making a good thing better, in 1974 the 3.0L RSR was unleashed. Not only did the factory campaign these cars, but a number of these were sold to private concerns that wanted to not only just go racing, but win it as much as possible. Starting with a basic stock 911 shell, the wheel arches were flared, a front spoiler added which contained the oil-cooler, and the “whale-tail” rear spoiler the major external modifications. A major suspension component for the RSR was the use of coil springs rather than torsion bars used previously. Also, added at the factory was an aluminum roll-cage which offered the driver maximum safety. Most of the victories racked up by the RSR was done by private owners as the factory boys were busy conjuring up their next machine. Today, an original RSR commands premium values and are highly prized by those who own them.
The Car: According to the consignor of this tribute to the mighty RSR, the builder wanted a car that looked and performed like the original. No expense was spared in this creation of what this legend should be. Starting with a solid 1978 911SC coupe he had proper body modifications applied to replicate what the factory had done to the real cars. This vehicle is built to race and as such weight is of a major concern. All the regular production glass windows were replaced with Plexiglass, as were the original racers, and attention to detail was paid to the application of an authentic rear spoiler â&#x20AC;&#x153;whale tailâ&#x20AC;?. Power is supplied by a 1997 vintage 3.6L engine which was factory rated at a whopping 424 HP, even more than the original 3.0L H6 had supplied. A full SCCA/ SVRA spec roll cage was added and should some daring soul wish, there is a passenger seat installed. Proper wide-width Fuchs wheels completed this package. This car has not been a trailer queen and the consignor supplied us with several photos of this car in action. Qualified to take part in most vintage racing events in the USA, this could be your ticket for the best thrill ride ever offered to mankind.

The Model: In the mid-1970s everyone was on the lookout for Ferrariâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s replacement for the Dino. Ferrari engaged Pininfarina design legend, Leonardo Fioravanti, to breathe life into what is now one of Ferrariâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s most iconic shapes. The gorgeous design was an instant hit at the 1975 Paris Motor Show and would survive in fundamental form to grace the legendary 288 GTO. The first 1976 model 308s wore fiberglass body shells while later cars were clad in all-steel bodies and grew in refinement and build quality. Underneath, a sophisticated 3 liter 4 cam Weber-carbureted V-8 provided the power accompanied by an impressive soundtrack all the way to 7,700 rpm. Much as the DB5 Aston Martin became associated with James Bond, the 308 GTS gained fame in its own right starring with Tom Selleck in the Magnum PI television series. The 308 GTS was built for only three years with just 3,219 of the most desirable carbureted examples being produced before being replaced in 1980 with the 308 GTSi featuring fuel injection which sacrificed 26 horsepower and lost the fantastic burbling sound of the four Weber carburetors. Today, the V-8 Ferrari market continues to grow as enthusiasts and collectors recognize the open-topped carbureted 308 GTS as the most desirable and collectible of all Ferrari V8s.
The Car: The beautifully presented matching numbers carbureted example offered here is finished in the iconic Ferrari color combination of Rosso Corsa (racing red) over tan leather. The Model: Chevrolet swung for the fences when they developed the ZR-1. It would be their attempt to dominate the sports car market, and it did take leaps and bounds in modernizing their flagship sports car. The C4 ushered in modern suspension, tuned port fuel injection and a more subdued shape with celebrated aerodynamics that offered a fresh American Sports Car from the dated lines of the C3. Partnering with the Lotus Group, the Corvette folks developed what would be the heart of the ZR-1, the all-new LT-5. The wildly modern engine design was powerful and reasonably efficient with 16 injectors, which at full blast delivered 405 HP to the 275/40ZR17s on the 11-inch wheels. In order to house those extra meaty tires, the designers gave the ZR-1 its most distinguishing feature by widening the car. Suspension upgrades were also made, making the

The Model: In 2006, Shelby American teamed up with Ford and announced that they were getting ready to release the ultimate in performance at the street legal level with their new 600 HP “King of the Road”. It would remain at the top of the heap, for a while, a very short while, for within a month Shelby and his team announced they had something even more powerful waiting on-deck. Reviving a name that had been applied to only a couple of his original Cobra’s, the Super Snake was reborn. At first, both Shelby and his partner in speed, Ford Motor Company, were keeping specifications close to the vest. However, when they came out, there was a lot of interest in these cars, especially when it was announced that the “to-the-wheels” HP dyno out at an amazing 725 horses. This car was not built to go pick the kids up at soccer practice, in fact it really wasn’t built to do anything close to normal driving chores. It was built for flat-out performance and believe it or not, it was 100% emissions compliant! While the original Cobra was powered by twin-superchargers and was considered too hot to handle by any but the most experienced the driver, the 2007 Mustang based “SS” is considerably more user-friendly, but still should not be operated by the faint-of-heart. The Car: This stunning example of the rebirth of Super Snake has been extremely well cared for. Showing just under 6,200 miles at the time of catalog, this pony-car on steroids has all the power amenities and looks it was born with. Finished in Vista Blue with the full stripe kit, it also has the unique Super Snake hood, side scoops and rear deck spoiler. The lower body effects and outside mirrors are both of carbon-fiber construction. Riding on its 19” Super Snake chrome wheels, it is still equipped with its original tires which isn’t uncommon considering the low miles showing on the odometer. Creature comforts, something lacking in Shelby’s original Cobra, include an 8-speaker sound system, full climate control, plush leather racing seats emblazoned with the Cobra logo while the headrest make it clear, you are riding in a Super Snake. One other very special point of interest with this car. In addition to all of the factory plaques denoting the heritage of this car, on the dashboard and large script is the actual signature of the man responsible for this and thousands of other high-performance vehicles, Carroll Shelby. ot 88 L The Model: During the 1970’s and 1980’s, America’s automobile industry was more worried concerned about emissions and new safety standards than styling with hi-performance was out of the question. Those valiant engineers and technicians on Chevrolet’s Corvette team didn’t give up. Lead by Dave McLellan, with help from British sports car maker Lotus, a package was developed and unleashed at the start of the 1990’s. Its option code was its name, the ZR1 was unleashed. That year all Corvettes had a 5.7 Liter V8 under the hood, but the ZR1’s engine was a work of mechanical genius, so special that GM had to go to Mercury Marine in Stillwater, Oklahoma so that this four-cam, 32-valve monster would be put together with the skill of masters who had a little more time on their schedule to build these motor the right way. The result; everyone who was anyone in 1990 had to have a ZR1. The Car: When looking at an investment car, its history is paramount, and this ZR1’s background check has been completed. Shipped new to Abraham Chevrolet in Tampa, Florida, this was one of the first ZR1s delivered. Not many people got to actually see the car as it was quickly taken to secure, climate controlled storage and put away. Today it shows just over the 600 mile mark and still features the cardboard floor mats installed at the factory to protect the flooring during transit. With a base price of $31,979 and the ZR 1 option running just $27,016 more (or about 85% of the base price), this car has it all, Solar Glass top, Delco-Bose Gold Series AM-FM-Cassette/CD audio, special handling package and that awesome engine and transmission. The Model: Almost from the day the 1955 Chevrolets hit the market, owners have been adding their own special touches, trying to make a good thing even better. For 1955, Chevrolet was offered in three basic trim levels, the 150 which was aimed at economy and fleet buyers such as police cars and taxi cabs; the 210 which was marketed towards growing families and was among the most popular models sold, and the Belair, which was also a family car but with a bit more chrome trim, flair and interior appointments. Regardless of the model, customizers took stock and made it their own car. However, looking back 60+ years ago, some builders today are seeing the beauty of the original design, but are adding their own touches with special colors, wheels, passenger compartment updates and most importantly, what is under the hood. The builder of this beautiful creation captured that train of thought. The Car: Finished in a Bright White and dazzling Gold Metallic, what started as a 210 sedan was upgraded with a full set of Belair trim for exterior dĂŠcor, while the interior was given a full make-over providing the occupants an enjoyable and comfortable ride. Under the hood resides a mighty â&#x20AC;&#x153;350â&#x20AC;? cubic inch V8 that starts easy and runs strong. It is backed up by a Borg-Warner T-10 4-speed transmission, which goes through the gears like a hot-knife through butter. Seats have been covered in a gray cloth that is inviting and no mistaking what type of car you are driving with the bow-tie logo emblazoned on the rear seat. Factory Rally wheels are mounted to the car with the under-stated blackwall radial tires and the rumble from the exhaust lets others know you mean business. Our consignor reports that this is one of the most civilized rides he has driven. Ready for the spring-time cruises or a day at the park, this is a design that is hard to improve upon and it can be yours.
ot 90 L The Car: In 2002 the Porsche 911 Carrera received a number of small updates that made something pretty spectacular just a bit more so. Among some of the changes were a a widened rear body stance, oval exhaust outlets, plus revised front headlight lenses and a redesigned rear indicator lights were the 2000 Turbo editions. This was done to help distinguish ever further the 911 from the Boxster. The Carreraâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s body featured a very low 0.30 coefficient of drag allowing it slip effortlessly through the air at high speed. Interiors were pretty much functional without a lot of gingerbread, full gauges, comprehensive sound system and all the basic creature comforts, but without over-teching one to death. Ergonomics was essential in the design of the Carrera with easy access for the driver for shifting, lighting controls and other important functions such as air conditioning, audio entertainment or opening and closing various portals to the passenger cabin. Performance was impressive with 0-to-60 MPH coming in right at five seconds and during closed course testing a top speed of 177 MPH was attained. The Model: One of the most popular post-war Alfa Romeo models ever produced was the legendary Giulia. Introduced for the 1963 model year, this well engineered line of car, powered by a 1750cc four-cylinder engine, kept the shop in Milano busy filling customer orders. In 1965, The GTA was developed to take this platform racing. Autodelta was the racing arm for the factory and campaigned a number of variations on the same theme and found plenty of success. In 1969, the GTAm was released. In base form it could belt out a full 240 HP. Fitted with a full steel body it was modified with a mixture of aluminum and plastic components, such as substituting Plexiglass for the windows. In addition to factory sponsored runs, a number of privateers also ran with these vehicles. There has been some conjecture of the actual meaning behind the Am moniker. One is that it represents America Maggiorata, or America Enlarged (a number of these cars were imported to the USA), while another popular belief is that it meant Alleggerita Maggiorata, which translates loosely to Lightweight-Enlarged. Regardless, driving and ownership of one of these cars is an experience a real driver will always cherish.

The Car: Starting with an late 1960’s 1750 Giulia Coupe, this car has been treated to an extensive build. First was the build of the 2.0 Liter “Twin-Spark” engine where Alfaholics provided the majority of parts including a full piston set complete with wrist pin, clips and rings, plus oversized intake and exhaust valves, connecting rods and much more. Feeding the fuel needed to run this mill is a pair of Weber dual-throat carbs, which combined with the 11.5:1 compression ratio boosted the HP rating at or above the factory specs. Among some of the other items was a lightweight racing alternator, a lightened flywheel, aluminum radiator and MSD ignition. Alfaholics was again called on to supply front and rear suspension parts including anti-roll bars and quick steering arms. They were also called upon to help with the brakes providing a 4-Pot Racing Disc Brake Kit and special Rotors using Ferodo pads. This Alfa has been enjoyed but has never been abused or wrecked. It features full instrumentation, a full roll-cage and little things like Momo floor plates, sport wheels and pop-top fuel filler. This Alfa Romeo was built not for show, but for fun. Your entry into the world of vintage racing could not be in better company that this tribute to those renown race cars from Milano that took the world by storm.

The Model – The elegant Silver Wraith II evolved as the long wheel base derivative of the Silver Shadow that originated in 1965. Born in response to criticism of the manufacturer’s resistance to innovation, the Silver Shadow and Silver Wraith II introduced power disk brakes and independent rear suspension to the model line. These were the first Rolls-Royce cars to incorporate a monocoque body. The design represented a dramatic styling change for the company as well. Unlike most manufacturers in Great Britain, the domestic market still represented almost half of the sales volume. To this end, the narrow roads drove the design team to produce a car that was smaller than the car it replaced. Despite the smaller exterior dimensions, the adaptation of unitary construction actually increased the available passenger space. The single most innovative feature of the car was the high-pressure hydraulic system licensed from Citroën that delivered not only dual-circuit braking but also performed self-levelling of the suspension. Although Rolls-Royce realized an outstanding level of ride comfort with this system, it often proved unreliable in service. Rolls-Royce introduced a long-wheelbase version of the Silver Shadow that was later given its own name, the Silver Wraith II for the 1976 model year as it gained further distinction from the Silver Shadow with the addition of an Everflex-covered roof and a rear opera window.
The Model:In the early 1960’s, you knew you have arrived when you drove up in a new Cadillac, and there was no better way to make a statement of confidence than to appear in a convertible. Cadillac had first used the Series 62 designation back in 1940 to signify a “step-up” from the basic Cadillac, if any Cadillac can be called “basic”. For the 1962 “62” convertible the list of standard equipment was long and included power steering, brakes, windows and front bench seat, as well as a full array of lights for under the hood, in the trunk, under the dashboard, in the glove box, plus back-up and even cornering lights. Priced at $5,793 in base form there were still a few extras one could add on, such as the Signal-Seeking Pre-selector radio at $164 or for year-round comfort the Air-conditioning and Heater which added another $473 to the price tag. For 1962, Cadillac had an astounding year producing a total of 160,840 vehicles of which 16,800 were Series 62 convertibles.
The Car: This very well preserved Series 62 convertible is finished in its original color of Pompeian Red with its correct white leather interior featuring proper red accents and floor covering. The tight fitting white top sets off this picture of luxury and performance from a time when Americans had their eyes to the skies during the early days of the race in space. This outstanding icon of success is fitted with all the Series 62 convertible’s standard equipment, as well as the optional radio, complete with power antenna, plus the very desirable air-conditioning system. Treated to a cosmetic restoration a number of years ago, it still presents quite well. The body panels appear to be well aligned, just as when they left the factory, and the chrome trim gleams in the sunlight sure to attract admiring looks from all who gaze at the stunning lines. The Model: When Mercedes unveiled the new 2003 SL500, it was the darling of the media. The Model: In 1972 Robert Jankel realized a dream of starting his own automobile company. The Panther Car Company set out to build low volume handcrafted exclusive replicas of 1930s vintage classic cars. His company evolved and changed hands to become Panther West Winds Ltd. The mission evolved as well. Panther has produced a wide range of automobiles over the years ranging from contemporary sedans to open two-seaters that recaptured the essence of the legendary pre-war sports cars. The Kallista (derived from the Greek word meaning “small and beautiful”) was hand built in England starting in 1983 and imported into the United States beginning in 1985 with a sticker price of $23,500 which was comparable to the price of the Porsche 944 and Chevrolet Corvette at that time. The Kallista was popular, but the pricing and hand-built nature of the car limited production to just 1,695 examples of which only 148 ever made it to the United States.
