2008 Malibu Boats Corvette Z06 Limited Edition Speedboat Estimate: $25,000 - $55,000 Engine: Engine: 7.0 Liter LS7 V8 Electronic Fuel Injection/505 bhp 3-Speed Merc-O-Matic Automatic Transmission Power Assisted Four Wheel Hydraulic Drum Brakes

Corvette Styling and Performance on Water

Awesome Horsepower from the LS7 V8

Trailer Included, Ready to Enjoy

Timer: 72 Hours

The Model: It was December 2007, just as the holiday seasons were getting into full swing, Corvette owners who had a desired to sail the open seas got their wish, a Corvette watercraft. Malibu Boats announced a limited edition run of the Corvette Sport Edition speedboat. Taking a number of styling cues from the land-locked sports car, these sleek crafts were powered by the fabulous LS7 V8, the same as could be found under the hood of the contemporary cars. Fiberglass forms a sleek and aerodynamic design that can slice through the water like a hot knife through butter. Little details were addressed such as the retractable power wedge that reduced power lost in the wakes and concentrated on the go-forward effect. Passenger capacity was limited to just four people, each person was cradled in the luxurious seating crafted just as the original. To show off that fabulous red-headed LS7, a clear Lexan door was designed that also emulated designs seen on the road. Nothing was overlooked in the build of these boats with maritime compliant electronics, communications and even a custom design trailer. With a price tag right at $125,000 when new, a total of only 50 were ever produced, for you see, this was truly a limited edition and there are no new ones coming off the assembly line. The Boat: Showing under 72 hours on the clock, this Corvette Z06 speedboat has been maintained in excellent condition. Considered the fastest production inboard boat with an advertised top speed of 65 MPH, this boat was engineered towards performance. The styling of the bow reflects the Corvette’s emphasis on speed and is highly functional. Open up the bows front cover and it reveals an LED lit compartment. For entertainment, the Rockford-Fosgate stereo system, with components stored in the bow, can rock your ride. Featuring a keyless start where your private security code activates all systems, you are in command as you sit in that Corvette styled driver’s seat, which like the other seats on this boat can be heated. LCD gauges, dual banks of multiplexed switches control every aspect of this ship’s operations. The roar of the engine, the adjustment of the throttle, computer controlled, of course, make sure there are no disappointments. Crafted for looks, speed, and safety, the highest quality materials were used in the construction of this power speedboat. The ultimate floatable for the hard-core Corvette fan, this rare and unique Z06 edition is sure to put a smile on your W W W. M O T O S T A L G I A . C O M face. Ahoy Matey, and enjoy!

The Model: During the early 1970’s, Chevrolet, as did other American truck makers, began to realize that pickups weren’t just work-horses. More and more of these vehicles were being pressed into family car duties. Bare-bones commercial models were still offered, but the more accessories and higher levels of trim packages offered, the more the customers stood in line to get their own. When the third generation of the C-10 series was released for 1973, Chevrolet promoted the design as their “Rounded Line”. But enthusiasts soon deemed these style-leader haulers as the square-bodies and most popular with the urban crowd when new and collectors today are the Fleetside, small-box models on the base 117.5” wheelbase, collectively known as the “short-wides”.

The Truck: This 1986 model features a solid body that has been treated to a number of styling upgrades, such as removal of most external badging, a slightly lowered stance, custom alloy wheels, and a two-tone paint scheme in Dark Red and Doeskin Beige that screams of the 1980’s. The interior of this truck has also been treated to several upgrades including a two-tone treatment of brown and tan to the full-width bench seat, modern stereo tastefully installed and a custom steering wheel mounted to the original tilt column. Our consignor tells us this Texas pickup is not a trailer queen, she was built to be used, enjoys taking long drives on those Texas highways, and doesn’t mind going down a dirt path or gravel road. Dependable and built like a rock, this is plain and simple one good looking, decent driving and all-around fine truck.

The Car: Twenty years after the end of the second World War, Japan was emerging as a technical and industrial giant. Prior to the war, private ownership of an automobile was something reserved for only the wealthiest. Just as in Europe, after the war, everybody wanted to own a car in Japan, but streets were narrow, parking and land for garages was at a premium, and the price of fuel quite high. As a result, most cars produced on the island nation were compact and economical to buy, own and maintain. But there were still those of means who wanted or needed a larger luxury sedan. While the ability to import such cars from the USA or Europe, Nissan Motors answered the need with the introduction of the President sedan. First released in 1965, was the full-size (by American standards) President Formal Sedan. Production numbers were consistently small, but this was an exclusive machine. Several generations of the President were produced with the Sovereign VIP package introduced in 1985. Plush seating with broadcloth for all occupants, privacy curtains and a very solid body that was well insulated against outside noises were hallmarks of the President by Nissan. 14 W W W. M O T O S T A L G I A . C O M

The Car: This is an original example sold new to Nissan’s home market, and has come to the American shores in recent years. It is a right-handdrive unit and while some of the controls are marked with Japanese characters, English is used for all the important controls related to the operation of the car, climate control, and audio entertainment. Finished in deep black, the Sovereign VIP package is fitted with fine broadcloths in both the front and rear seating compartment. Seat tops are protected with fancy lace covers while the back seat passengers can enjoy the comfort of padded foot rests and concealed in the fold-down center arm-rest are controls for the AM-FM/Cassette audio system plus air conditioning and heating. Those luxury rear seats can also be heated on a cold winter’s day. While the odometer shows just under 89,300 KM, this translates into loosely 55,500 miles. Under the hood is pure stock and the car glides silently on 14 radial tires as specified by the factory. A very well maintained vehicle that is rarely seen in the USA, this could be a rare chance to own something very special. 15 W W W. M O T O S T A L G I A . C O M

ot 04 L The Model: When the fabulous SL500 retractable hardtop-coupe was released, the factories in Stuttgart could not make those cars fast enough. On the German Autobahn, the desert roads of Dubai, or America’s interstate, these cars were at home anywhere. Then AMG got into the game. A total redevelopment of the V8 engine bumped up the displacement and the addition of a belt-driven IHI supercharger, spinning at 23,000 rpm, boosted all the figures, 269 HP, 479 pound-feet of torque and 0-to-60 speeds under 4.5 seconds. From the factory, these cars were limited from

going over the 155 MPH mark, but during on-track testing, the inhibitors were removed and speeds above the 205 mark were reached, pegging the 200 mph speedo. This extra power meant beefing up the chassis and suspension, which meant adding a little weight to the rear of the car at the rear subframe, now made of steel rather than the aluminum used for the SL500. Styling was in line with other Mercedes at the time, except for the AMG ground effects, custom wheels and extra care in the fit and finish of these vehicles.

The Car: Maintained in showroom condition from new, our consignor says he has always kept this car within the legal limits, (or at least he has never been caught), and that performance of this SL55 is as advertised, and we will leave it at that. Appearance wise, the car retains all the extra care given at the factory with smooth reflective paint, supple and comfortable leather seats plus all of the amenities you would expect in a luxury retractable top roadster. It is loaded with a superb sound system featuring AM-FM radio and CD player, plus a navigation system. The wood work decorating the dashboard and panels shows like new and all of the gauges are functioning just as they were designed to do, including closely monitoring the speed. With the flip of a switch the snug hardtop lifts and folds away with silence and perfection because that’s the way Mercedes made it! The Model: Mercedes-Benz eschewed the fins of the previous W110 series with the introduction of the Paul Bracq-designed. Introduced as inline 6-cylinder cars with 2.2-litre engines, the W111 spawned two lines of variants and was quickly considered to be an immediate success in style and luxury. The 220SE was one the last of the hand-built Mercedes. Designed by Paul Bracq, heading the Daimler-Benz design studio where he created the W111 series, as well as other great designs, such as the Pagoda SL Roadster (W113 series). The 220SE sedan, coupe, and cabriolet all shared the same 2.2L 2195cc single overhead cam six-cylinder engine fitted with a Bosch mechanical fuel injection system. For added luxury, an optional four-speed automatic gearbox and power steering were offered. Stopping power came from disc brakes in the front with hydraulic drums in the rear.

The Car: This 1970 Mercedes Benz 220SE is an unrestored driver that has age appropriate patina and has been mechanically maintained to be kept up as a driver. The car drives, shifts and stops well. It was repainted many years ago in its maroon color and the leather interior shows beautifully. When it comes to Mercedes-Benz elegant styling, the 220SE sedan is on the top of the list. This is a great classic for weekend fun to be enjoyed with family and friends.

Odometer: 45,900 Actual Miles

The Model: While the first-generation Ford F150 Lightnings had started a whole new market segment of performance pickups, the second generation stepped up the game a notch or two. Under the hood, a supercharger from Eaton helped provide enough of a boost to up the output to 380 HP with 450-pound feet of torque. Backed up with the 4R100 automatic that came off the Super Duty parts shelf, it provided power to the 9.75” limited slip rear axle. The engine and power-team were developed in a partnership between Ford’s Special Vehicles Team and Jack Roush’s organization, and among the special components developed for the program were lower compression pistons, as well as a forged crankshaft and piston rods. Working with Bilstein special shock absorbers and suspension parts that kept the truck under control through corners and high-speed maneuvers. These trucks were fast, 0-to-60 in just over 5 seconds, and despite the lighter weight to the rear, the Lightning would handle as though it was stuck like glue to the road. The owner reported the whine of the supercharger was like music, and its ability to smoke the tires was legendary. For 2002, a total of 4,726 F150 Lightnings were produced, each of them being coveted performance machines.

A number of custom graphic touches have been added to the hard tonneau cover, hood, fenders and even the dashboard. The Model: Looking for a design that would carry the Jensen nameplate into the 1970’s, Carrozzeria Touring was called upon to produce both a four-place touring coupe and convertible. There were some issues with the initial design and that is when the talents at Vignale stepped in smoothing out rough edges and bringing a production model to market. When the Interceptor was released in 1971, it won wide acclaim, but limited sales due to skyrocketing fuel prices. Jensen launched a refinement of the Interceptor and in 1974, the Mark III was introduced. Under the hood, the mighty 440 Magnum V8 sourced from Chrysler powered the car with shifting accomplished by the Torque-Flite transmission. Power to the rear drive wheels was through a Salisbury limited slip differential. The performance was swift with 0-to-60 MPH time just over 7 seconds which was on par with other contemporary British sports cars. Despite some innovative marketing plans, the Jensen brothers quietly discontinued production in the latter half of 1976. W W W. M O T O S T A L G I A . C O M

Under the hood is presentable and has not been molested or modified. The body appears to be very straight but upon close inspection, one can see this car still wears its original paint and as such there are little tell-tale signs of patina and age. The wheels appear to be original to the car and even the cargo area is clean and is well presenting, including an original vintage pump-action fire extinguisher. During a recent test drive, the car seemed to operate at factory specs or even better. The body was quite sound with hood and deck-lid lined up well and with the doors operating smoothly. All of the glass also appears to be in good condition with no cracks, marks or delamination issues. The Jensen brothers produced automotive bodies and cars starting in the 1930’s and their quality was some of the best the UK ever saw. This coupe represents the end of an era, the end of an empire. The Model: General Motors has built its reputation of performance and even with restrictions placed on passenger car related to emissions, fuel consumption, safety and to some degree, design, they have continued to produce vehicles that make the heart beat faster. After the success of the Syclone pickups, the go-ahead was given to develop a Jimmy based high-performance SUV. The S-15 based Jimmy was the perfect starting point in that it shared so many components with the Sonoma base pickups. The optional 4.3L OHV V6 served as the base for the Typhoon starting with a freer flowing intake manifold from the LB4 V6 and pushing the fuel was the Mitsubishi TD06-17C/8 cm2 turbocharger working with the Garrett intercooler, attached to a 48mm twin-bor throttle body taken from the 5.7L V8. As with the Syclone, the only transmission available was the 700R4 automatic attached to the Borg-Warner 4472 trans case that sends 35% of the torque to the front wheels and 65% to the rear. Modifications were made to the stock suspension, brakes were upgraded and a very subtle use of model identification finished off this super package. With the performance and handling of a sports car, the Typhoon was unlike any other SUV ever produced.

The Car: In production for just two model years, 1993 would see production limited to 2,200. These SUV’s were available in a wide selection of color with one of the most popular choices featuring a black exterior with black leather seats. This example has seen been enjoyed and close inspection will reveal signs of road use. However, this Typhoon has always been well maintained and retains much of its original splendor and all of its performance. There have been no modifications to this sporty vehicle as it retains its factory alloy wheels, full interior including the entertainment system, and exterior appearance. Driving and enjoying a performance vehicle such as this Typhoon is what car-collecting and experiencing is all about and this vehicle is ready to provide those pleasures of motoring. When new several celebrities owned a Typhoon such as Clint Eastwood and the late John F. Kennedy Jr. Even if you are not a celebrity, you can own this limited production Typhoon with the simple raising of your hand.

The Model: 1962 marked the release of BMW’s “New Class” of cars. While these new sedans proved quite popular in the market, BMW wanted to give this new line a wider appeal in the upscale market, so it was decided to offer a GT style coupe. Turning to the talents in-house designer Hofmeister, who was responsible for influencing many of BMW’s stylings for many years afterward, a body shell was developed that was aerodynamically effective and beautifully executed. The German coachbuilder Karman, a leader in limited production vehicles, was selected to create these sleek new coupes for BMW. Under the hood was a dependable engine that had evolved into a full two-liter format and had proven itself not only on the European roadways but also in a wide variety of racing venues. Production of these coupes was quite limited and while BMW had a strong showing in the America’s motorcycle market, their USA automobile sales had been very limited which would mean that few, if any 2000C’s would be marketed in the states. The Car: Finished in its original Polaris Metallic with Navy Blue fabrics, this is one of just 212 of the 2000C units produced for the 1967 model year. Completed on the 7th of July, 1967, it spent the first few years of its life in Germany before it moved to Canada in the early 1970’s. Remaining in the second owners care for the next forty years it was well maintained and used only on special occasions. It is believed that during this time, the car was repainted in its original colors and the numbers-matching engine was upgraded to 2000CS specs with the addition of a dual-carburetor intake and a pair of Weber carburetors. Since then the car traded hands in 2013, where it has been kept in climate controlled storage. More recently over $4,000 in maintenance and needed repairs making it road ready. Today it is still riding on its original set of Ronal alloy wheels, and wearing recently installed Bridgestone tires this BMW is ready for the road. The interior of this sporty coupe appears to be original and would enjoy a freshening, but mechanically this is a coupe that is ready to ride and enjoy. W W W. M O T O S T A L G I A . C O M

Greatest Performance of the Era

The Model –Two major achievements took place for Chrysler with the introduction of the 1955 models. From the outside, Virgil Exner’s “Forward Look” was first realized with an across-the-board restyling to all lines. For the first time ever, performance was unbeatable with the new C300 hardtop. Based on the top-line New Yorker the C300 featured dual carburetors and a specially designed “batwing” styled air-cleaner. A bold “split-grille” design graced the front end of all Chrysler’s that year, but the “300” badge up-front told the casual observer this was no luxury land-yacht, it meant performance in a big way. While the other cars in Chrysler’s lineup represented the “100 million-dollar look”, this beauty featured all the amenities you could want leather seats, plenty of room and comfort, plus 0-60 MPH times at about 10 seconds, pretty heady stuff in 1955. With a price tag of just over $4,100 delivered, Chrysler found 1,725 buyers for this limited production special hardtop.

The Car – For 1955, Chrysler 300 customers had a limited selection of colors to choose from, but red, officially Navajo Orange, was an often-selected choice, which is the color of the beautiful example we are proud to offer. With its powerful engine having been recently tuned up, that mighty Hemi comes to life easily and produces that throaty exhaust sound that beckons the driver to hit the open road. Sitting on its four gleaming chrome wire wheels, this car appears to be pure-stock in every way. Fitted with factory AM radio, heater-defroster and a clock, one of the most prominent features is the “stick-through-the-dash” control lever for the automatic transmission. A simple push of the door lever and you are inside this well-appointed performance machine. The doors close tight, and along with the hood and deck-lid, panels line up at or above factory specs. This car presents a pleasant driving experience giving the driver the feel of the road and command of the machine. The 1955 C300 was the start of the performance push in America, the first of the real horsepower based luxury cruisers.

The Model: Ford’s all new 1949 had one mission, to get the company out of a sea of red-ink and into the black. While not perfect, the “Forty-Niner” was a hit and Ford was back on track. The most expensive body style offered was a two-door station wagon that used a metal shell, combined with exterior wood panels for structural support and to lend an air of exclusivity to the line. In 1950 the wagon was christened the Country Squire and in 1951, wore that name proudly on the doors. That year all Ford’s got a new “twin-spinner” grille with larger wrap-around parking lights up front, and while the rest of the Ford line got a new dashboard, the Country Squire retained the 1950 design through the end of production. Hand built at Ford’s Iron Mountain facility, each body was built to exacting standards and then shipped to the individual assembly plants to be decked to their powerful V8 power chassis.

The Car: When the Country Squire was new it was the most expensive model in the Ford line, and when a proper restoration is done, woody wagons can become the most expensive model to bring back to its original beauty. Restored a number of years ago, it has recently been serviced and brought back to life after being part of a museum collection for many years. Finished in Sungate Ivory with factory style dark brown and tan leatherette seating, it is fitted with factory electric clock, pushbutton AM radio and Magic-Aire heater and defroster. Most of the wood appears to be original and has been restored with all repairs being of the highest caliber. It is currently wearing 1949 style Ford hubcaps with the exception of the spare tire mounted to the rear tailgate. With a west-coast heritage from birth, no matter where you come from, you will find this Country Squire is right up your alley.

The Model –Launching the second generation of Chevrolet’s iconic Camaro was a bit of challenge for Chevrolet. First, there were problems with the body stampings and by the time those were re-engineered, labor issues shut down production at the Norwood assembly plant which meant no 1970 Camaros. When the new Camaros were finally put on sale they were marketed as 1970 ½ models. Minimal changes were made for the 1971 models, and they were a smash success. Almost from the day these sleek coupes went on sale, the urge to improve upon the factory specs was in full swing. Now, some 46 years later, new technologies can help builders create machines that car far out perform, out shine, and out last the originals configurations. A few years ago, the term “Resto-Mod” was created to describe a vehicle that retained a majority of its stock appearance, but under that façade of authenticity was a modern, powerful car that blended old and new together. That is exactly what this 1971 Camaro represents. The Car – One of the most popular colors on the 1971 Camaro was Lime Green Metallic. One of the most popular packages was the RS or Rally Sport, with which one could special order interior appointments such as a two-spoke steering wheel, the option of custom racing stripes, Year One simulated mag wheels and a split front bumper configuration. This example has all those touches but with a modern spin. The front bumpers are done in weight-saving carbon-fiber, the custom 17” wheels have the look of stock, but give the car the stance of power. Under the hood a modern LS1 smallblock V8 powers the car backed up by a Turbo-Hydramatic transmission. Looking inside the car one might think you were stepping back in time with the sporty black vinyl seats and RS steering wheel, but you will notice the new easy-to-read gauges and that Pioneer stereo system neatly mounted in the dashboard. You can stay cool with the R134A air-conditioning system, and Wilwood disc brakes make sure the drive is safe. With only test miles on this mean-green machine since its build, it is fresh and ready to be taken to a local show, garner a few trophies, and then hit the road. With the engine in tune, the transmission tight and the 3.43:1 Positraction rear end, get in, hold on and experience performance the Camaro way.

Celebrates Corvette’s 1st Time at Indy 500

Outstanding Condition All Around

Well Appointed From the Factory

The Model: It seems odd that it wasn’t until 1978, the 25th Anniversary of America’s sports car, that the Corvette was selected to be the official pace car at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s 500-mile race. Not since the 1950’s had there been this much interest from a factory in producing replicas of the official car and making them available to the general public. Using the first two-tone paint scheme offered on a Corvette since 1961, the distinctive black over silver motif made these cars instantly recognizable. With a base price of $13,653, dealers, who were limited to just one unit, would often load these cars up with all the toys to jack up the delivery price, as well as their profit margins, through the roof. For 2017, a Grand Sport edition paced the Memorial Day Classic for the 14th time. A lot of great Corvettes have led those 33 racers down to the green flag, but it is the first one that people still recognize and it is the first one that sets the standard for all the rest to try and meet.

The Car: The 1978 Corvette Pace Car replica we are proud to offer has it all. Under the hood was the L82, 220 HP, 350 cid $525 optional V8 engine. Even more expensive than the L82 engine was the AM-FM-CB radio, listed at $638, it found over 7,100 buyers in all Corvettes, just a few of those were installed in the Pace Car replicas. While this car has enjoyed a bit of road time, under 27,700 miles from new. This Pace Car has never been abused or involved in any type of traffic altercation. The car still wears 100% of its factory applied paint plus its original Indy 500 decal identification package. Included in the Pacer Car package but optional for all other models were the cast alloy wheels with their red pinstripes. Wearing vintage Goodyear Eagle ST radial tires that show plenty of life left. Fitted with silver leather seats, which show minimal wear, and that all important accessory from the late 1970’s, a CB radio, this is one car you can go hunting for a bear with and let your good buddies on the interstate know where the Kodiak with a Kodak is hiding out.

Odometer: 21,875 Actual Miles

The Model: Born as a very limited-edition performance version to compete in Trans-Am racing, Pontiac’s Trans-Am through the 1970’s became the last hold-out for the days of factory performance vehicles. Starting in 1972, the HP ratings were presented in a way to make the car look meek and mild, but those who knew how to handle one of these cars knew that the advertised output was just a number, one that was rather low. This year would mark the last installation of the Pontiac born and bred 400 cubic incher which saw very limited installation numbers, with most of these cars being equipped with the Oldsmobile created 403 V8, which was more emissions friendly. The Z-code 400 V8 was tuned up to the best that it could be considering government and environmental restrictions placed on these vehicles. Trans-Am had grown into a gentleman’s sports coupe, which many ladies also enjoyed time behind the three-spoke steering wheel. With looks, power and comfort, many consider 1979 to be the real end of the muscle-car era, the era that Pontiac had ushered in back in 1964. W W W. M O T O S T A L G I A . C O M

The Car: In 1979, probably the coolest 4-place car one could own would be the Trans-Am. The temptation to drive hard, drive fast and test out one’s high-speed performance skills led to many of these cars getting sideways and teaching the driver a quick lesson in physics. Quite a few, if not most of these Trans-Ams were not spared from lighting up the tires or seeing how close to red-line one could rev the engine. This mighty car is one of those lucky survivors, one where it might have been revved a few times, even did a burnout or two, but at the hands of an experienced driver. Presented in its original Gold metallic finish, the saddle tan vinyl seats look fresh and supple. It is a very well-equipped car starting with that Z-code 400 cid V8, one of just 2,485 Trans-Am coupes to be so equipped. Everything is there, the tachometer and clock, a speedometer that is marked to 100 mph which the car was quite capable of exceeding. The Gold-tone Snowflake wheels are wearing vintage Goodyear Eagle GT+4 tires which the space-saver spare is secured in the immaculate luggage compartment. With low miles from new in unmolested condition, this is a rare opportunity to own the last of the real performance bred Pontiacs, do not miss this chance.

Last Year of a Hudson Convertible Outstanding Workmanship Twin-H “Instant Action” Engine

The Model: When Hudson introduced its “Step-Down” designs in 1948, it was heralded as bold, new and dramatic. Slab sided styling that some referred to as an inverted bathtub, Hudsons were good selling cars in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s. And they were fast for their day with Marshall Teague piloting Hudson Hornets over the finish line in early NASCAR events on a regular basis. However, sales started to decline by 1952. Despite facelifts done on a budget, by 1954 the 1948 body had run its course. But Hudson never let the guard down. Frank Spring breathed as much new life into Hudson offering Twin-H dual carburetion for the “Instant Action” engines, tuned suspensions with “Center Point” steering, airplane like shock absorbers and several luxury appointments usually found on top-shelf automobiles. For 1954 Hudson promised the world and delivered as much of it as possible.

The Car: Finding a Hudson Hornet convertible is a rare thing, finding one that is in the stellar condition of this example can be a once in a lifetime experience. Finished in Bristol Cream Yellow, the interior had been done in plush red leather with a tight-fitting tan top. The optional Twin-H dual-carb setup is the star under the hood, with the rest of the engine bay looking as good, if not better than the day it was put on sale. During a recent test drive, we were amazed at the immediate acceleration delivered from this “Instant Action” six. At a glance, this car may seem to be cumbersome on the road, but the light touch needed to steer and the immediate self-leveling system combine to deliver a comfortable and controlled driving experience. The Model: Introduced in 1970 as a personal luxury coupe, one usually doesn’t think of the Chevrolet Monte Carlo as a performance vehicle. You could still get a muscle-car icon with the Chevelle SS in 1971, but for someone who wanted something a little out of the ordinary, there was the Monte Carlo SS. Just a scant 1,919 customers opted for this model, and what they received was a luxury coupe that could deliver quite a punch of which no one was able to see coming their way, it was the ultimate sleeper. Included in the package was the 365 HP 454 cid big-block V8, bucket seats separated by a console with a horseshoe shifter to control the Turbo-Hydramatic 400 transmission, Rally wheels, a blacked-out rear panel plus proper SS badging. This was still at a time when one could custom-order their production car, and Chevrolet catered to the crowds with a menu that offered convenience, appearance and performance options to titillate even the most conservative car buyer. With a base price starting at around $4,000, loaded with the SS package and other appointments of the day, the out-the-door price was most often well north of the $5,000 mark, which was still a fair price for what was received.

The Car: This beautiful example of the Monte Carlo SS represents the end of an era for the American car industry. Presented in Nevada Silver, its original paint color in a two-stage urethane finish, this hardtop features the comfortable black vinyl bucket seats complete with a center-shift console. Restored several years ago this car looks like it just came off the showroom floor. All of the Super Sport components are in place either using the finest replacement or NOS parts available. A modern more responsive steering wheel sits atop the factory tilt-column, and the interior is trimmed to the same level of fit and finish as the factory supplied. It does feature an upgraded audio system and R134A eco-friendly air-conditioning that is reported to be ice-cold even on the warmest days. All of the pages are clean, clear and easy to read including the factory install tachometer. Even the burled walnut applique is in place and looks so much like the real thing it could fool a hungry termite. Under the hood is the numbers matching 454 V8, tuned and ready to go, wearing all the right parts including the hard-to-find air cleaner. With power transferred to the rear wheels through the original 12-bolt rear end, the B.F. Goodrich T/A radial tires grip the road. This is a great opportunity to own a true personal luxury muscle car that can earn the respect of others who meet it on the road.

The Model: Even though the basic platform for the Firebird was shared with the Camaro, the Pontiac version was built to enjoy much more in the way of performance, comfort and overall enjoyment. By 1969, the Firebird had come into its own with legions of dedicated owners, people that Pontiac listened to and also seemed to cater to. For 1968, the first Ram Air II induction system was developed, which would be joined by the Ram Air III later in the season. The following year, Ram Air IV replaced the original Ram Air II but had numerous upgrades. While officially these new engines were rated at 366 HP, the same as the R.A. II, they were much improved with cast-iron headers and weight-saving aluminum intake manifolds. For 1969, Pontiac introduced the Trans-Am edition of the Firebird which came standard with the 360 HP, Ram Air III, while the more potent R.A. IV was available and installed in just 55 of those rare cars. A total of 102 Firebirds received this top-performance induction system. With 4-bolt main caps, forged crankshaft and piston rods plus special valves, cam and heads, these engines would take on all comers and put to shame quite a few Mopar 426 Hemi V8s in their day.

The Car: Starting with a solid and complete 1969 Firebird,

the build on this car is flawless. The beautiful black finish

shows off the original designs and accent lines the stylist skillfully sculpted and brought out even stronger with dual red racing stripes. The interior of this coupe is immaculate with red vinyl bucket seats recovered in patterns that exactly matched the originals. This color scheme is matched for the dashboard, steering wheel, all vinyl door panels, floor carpets and even the four-speed’s shift knob. Disc brakes have been fitted on all four-corners and to keep everyone comfortable, ice-cold R134A vintage air conditioning was also installed. “Look-a-like” 17” special wheels complete the picture of just what a Resto-Mod should be. Workmanship is top-shelf and professional, where nothing was overlooked. The front Endura fascia is lined up with the sheet metal better than what the factory could produce, while the hood, doors, and deck lid are perfectly gapped all around. Even the back of the car, with the rear panel emblazoned in red, sits level accented by the chrome tipped dual-exhaust and spread-wing Firebird emblem in dead center. Turn the key and listen to the Ram Air IV 400 cubic incher come to life, push in the clutch, shift into first and get ready to experience excitement, Pontiac style!

The Model: When the Federal Government started putting restrictions on fuel consumption, horsepower and performance for passenger cars, those same rules exempted commercial vehicles. This had two major effects for the industry in the USA, a marked increase in the number of truck-based models such as mini-vans and SUV’s, and a whole new market niche of performance pickups and related models. Taking full advantage of the situation, GMC’s marketing and engineering people came up with the Sonoma based Syclone pickup released in the fall of 1990. Starting with the proven V6 engine, and utilizing the TD06-17C Turbocharger from Mitsubishi, coupled with a Garrett Air-Cooler, power was more than doubled and one of America’s fastest production vehicles was a compact pickup. Fast, 0-to-60 in 4.6 seconds on average. Respected, comparisons were drawn between the Syclone and the Ferrari 348. Production was limited in 1991 to just 2,997 units and ask their owners, it is rare to find one for sale. 46

Odometer: 10,200 Actual Miles

The Model: Just five years after the release of the very successful 550-Maranello, Ferrari brought out the 575M in 2002. As with its predecessor, it was a grand tourer that was brilliantly executed and ideal for an extended trip with lots of room for the driver, the passenger and plenty of storage space in the luggage compartment, or if needed on the rear package tray. Beckoning back to Ferrari’s roots the 575M was powered by a twelve-cylinder engine placed up front with drive wheels to the rear, which had been inherited from the 550M. For the 575M, vehicle dynamics were refined with every detail on the underbody dedicated to down-force, and for the first time, the F1 style paddle shifting for the six-speed automatic. Redesigned air-intakes up front contributed to better fluid-dynamic effectiveness including a new front spoiler, all helping to keep the 575M glued to the ground at high speeds. With little things such as the Xenon headlights being standard equipment. When tested as a new car, 0-to-60 times were in the 4.3-second range, and passenger comfort was paramount in the design with ease of entry and exit. One of the 575M’s high points is the excellent air-conditioning system which can keep even the hottest drivers cool, calm and collected. The Car: This spectacular example of the 575M-F1 Maranello coupe left the factory in Blu Pozzi and features a stunning leather interior done in red including the headliner, with the dash and door panels accented with black and brushed aluminum trim accents. Reported to be one of a very limited number of 575M’s shipped to the USA in this color and trim combination, it is in immaculate condition showing just over 10,200 original miles. Under the hood and on the chassis, the proper red accents are found in the engine compartment as well as on the unique disc brake calipers. Luxury appointments abound on this well-maintained example. It features functioning air conditioning with the factory alloy wheels riding on Pirelli P-Zero tires. If the sounds coming from the fabulous engine aren’t melodic enough for you, there is the factory stereo system with six speakers placed for acoustic perfection and both front fenders carry the bright yellow Scuderia Ferrari badges. Recently treated to a full service including water pumps, fluids, belts and PPI inspection this Ferrari is turnkey ready to enjoy, and ready to become a legend with you at the wheel, this is a rare opportunity for greatness. The Model: Valentine’s Day, 1999 was especially sweet for Pontiac fans. Pacing the legendary Daytona 500 was the 30th Anniversary edition of the TransAm. A special limited edition run of just 1,000 T-top coupes had been planned, and despite a hefty $31,500 price they sold out fast. Among the many special appointments were 30th Anniversary badges on the front doors, the front fascia and on the dashboard a special numbered badge. All of these hot cars were equipped with the WS6 handling package and powered by the 320 HP LS1 5.7L engine, the same V8 used in the Corvette. Special high-back, white leather bucket seats carried the Anniversary logo, and owners could opt to have the doors emblazoned with the official pace car decals. Eye-catching were the blue-tint five-spoke chrome wheels that really set off the Arctic White finish combined with the blue-stripes, the same scheme that the original TransAm’s had worn 30 years before. Air-conditioning was standard as was a Delco AM-FM-CD entertainment unit. Also, full instrumentation was included with easy to read gauges. Showing that the designers of this car were expecting good things, the coupes received a special “trophy mat”, also emblazoned with the spread-wing anniversary logo. 50 W W W. M O T O S T A L G I A . The Car: As with all of the 30th Anniversary Trans-Am, this beautiful example is finished in Arctic White with dual blue stripes. This example carries the Daytona 500 official pace-car graphics on both front doors. While this car has been driven, it has been cared for and maintained having seen inside storage all of its life. There have been a couple of performance upgrades carried out of the already powerful LS1 V8, such as the addition of a Wilson “Fast-Flo” LS intake manifold coupled to a Volant twin-induction cold air set-up. Aside from the engine the rest of this powerful super-car appears just as it did when new including those striking blue-chrome plate 5-spoke wheels. Looking inside this car, the pure-white leather covered bucket seats look like they are brand-spanking new while it retains the factory installed Delco AM-FM-CD player, and yes it still has its special limited edition and number 30th Anniversary plaque on the center console. In doing our research we found that there had only been one major recall on this car, to correct the spread-eagle logo used on the rear panel. Rest assured, this car is fitted with the “filled-wing” version of this awesome logo, which represents an equally awesome car. 51 W W W. M O T O S T A L G I A . C O M

The Model: It was a marriage like no other in the world of sport and performance automobiles. There had been a number of other attempts to create a vehicle with exotic European styling that was propelled by American horsepower, and while many of those had seen some limited success, the push that Ford provided for the Pantera was unlike anything else seen before. Offered for sale and to be serviced through the company’s expansive Lincoln-Mercury dealer organization, meant that repairs could be done in a day or two instead of a month or two. Blending beautiful design American born Tom Tjaarda, combined with the expertise from the Ghia coachbuilders, its looks were modern and exciting. Adding a small-block Ford V8 in this mid-engine beauty was genius. Lee Iacocca has often been credited with bringing the Pantera to market, and no doubt, this was one of his finest hours, marrying Italian style to American horsepower. Of course, there were other suppliers from other countries involved, such as ZF who provided the 5-speed transaxle, as well as other components needed to create a great machine. W W W. Factory Tribute to the Original

Excellent Condition and Presentation

Well Appointed from the Factory

Odometer: 3,975 Actual Miles

The Model: When given the go-ahead to create the 25th Anniversary edition for the Trans Am, Jack Folden and his team started with a clean sheet. Using the newly released 4th-generation Firebird as the basis, it was decided from the start to use the original Cameo White and dark blue stripes as used in 1969, but with the single stripe as seen on the 1970 edition. Their goal was to create a distinctive design to commemorate the model without “over badging” it, and at the same time, show-off the body design of the then new body design. These cars received all the performance appointments of every Trans Am, from the LT1 V8’s to the 155 MPH speedometer, a Delco 2001 stereo system, ergonomically designed instrument and control panels, and for the 25th Anniversary model, specially embroidered seats and décor. Starting with the Trans Am GT as the base, the anniversary package added another $995, on top of which the buyer could upgrade to an automatic transmission for $775, and T-tops for $895. Average delivery price for one of these beauties was $31,500, just a bit shy of a basic Corvette coupe!

The Car: This exquisite example of Pontiac excitement, 1990’s style, has been pampered since the day it was delivered new. Its gleaming white paint and bold blue stripes make a strong impact on all who see it. Looking inside the interior is bright and clean with those exclusive embroidered white leather bucket seats and matching door panels looking fresh while it appears no one has ever used the back seats! Equipped with factory air-conditioning, power everything and the six-speaker Delco stereo system, there is want for nothing with this coupe. On those white five-spoke wheels, offered only on the Anniversary edition, are the factory tires preserved and ready for the road, while under the hood is detailed with the original stickers and decals all in place. Used very sparingly only to exercise this car on occasion, this is the type of vehicle that will be sought after for historical preservation awards as well as acting as a “pattern” car for restorers wanting to try and replicate the original condition of this Anniversary Trans Am. They are original only once, and even then, being well preserved is the biggest bonus one could wish for.

ot 24 L The Model: 2002 marked a major milestone in the history of Bentley. Under the BMW leadership what was still getting in tune with the Bentley tradition, the most powerful engine ever placed under this marque’s hood by the factory, was unleashed. The use of twin turbos created a monster of an engine that was not shared with any other make or model, making the Arnage the fastest production sedan in the world. There were a few other technical touches that helped besides the turbo power, such as the Motronic 7.1.1 “Engine Management System that kept just the right about of fuel-air mixture delivery, and for handling the Bosch electronic stability program kept these big luxury sedans on the straight and narrow. With a base price right at $235,000 when new, customers were not to be disappointed considering all the appointments such as power everything, a solid, well-insulated passenger compartment fitted with supple and supportive seating, premium sound system and climate control for year-round comfort. Mechanically the transmission was smooth and silent and brakes the highest quality in the industry.

So well insulated is the passenger cabin that the powerful whine of those dual Garrett T3 Turbo can barely be heard. The Model: Almost from the start, Jaguar’s heritage was built on racing and in March 1961, that was driven home at the Geneva Motor Show with the debut of the E-type. Often referred to in the USA as the XKE, a pseudo-continuation of the XK models, it was apparent this car was directly related to the legendary D-type. With streamlined styling, these cars excelled in both racing versions and the money-making street editions. Constant improvements were employed with the E-type with minor body modifications and upgrades to the drivetrain, suspension, braking, steering, electrical and cooling systems. Jaguar’s E-type has been credited with bringing in new generations of sports car fans from around the world and its design traits have been copied on everything from Ferrari to Porsche to Datsun. With certified top-speeds well in excess of 120 MPH, these early cars were a blast to drive when new, and today it is an honor to be at the controls of one of the world’s greatest production sports cars. The Car: One of the best things about the Jaguar E-types is that they look good in just about any color, but most befitting colors for this design has to be Carmen Red, the hue of choice for this 1964 3.8-Liter version. Red is such a pretty color, especially when traveling at speed. The matching bucket seats have received the same treatment as well as the very rare removable hard top. The new soft top has been done in a conventional black and really compliments the entire look of the open two-seater. Under the hood that Jaguar engine has been rebuilt and detailed to show-car condition, with each of those SU carburetors acting like crown jewels. Tribute To Most Popular Muscle-Car

Outstanding Quality All Around

Will Turn Heads Wherever Shown

Odometer: 1,350 Miles Since Restoration The Model: All good things must come to an end, and so it was when regulations and insurance rates contributed to putting an end to the Muscle-Car era. It didn’t take too many years for high-performance enthusiasts to realize what they had lived through and was now lost to the ages. Ever since that era came to a screeching halt, there have been skilled craftsmen who have studied those cars of speed, design, and power and then built modern creations forever making improvements to engine output, steering and handling abilities along with improved comfort all around. As prices escalated on many models, especially those equipped with a factory Hemi-V8, building alternative creations that had the looks and performance of those originals have become an art-form. Like the originals, these are not your usual family “grocery-getters”, but are machines to be driven and enjoyed. Capturing the look, feel and exhilaration of those mighty MoPars takes an investment of time, skills and patience, of which many try to complete and few manage to succeed. The Car: With a Sassy-Grass Green finish and those big-black “Hemi” billboard graphics on the side, there is no doubt of what you’re going to be up against. The build for this ‘Cuda hardtop started with a solid body that was tweaked and finished to absolute perfection. The electrifying high-impact green exterior means business while the interior of this car is finished in authentic black vinyl. Modern instruments make sure all of the mechanical components are in working order, and an up-to-date AMFM-CD stereo system will keep the driver and passengers entertained for many miles while they stay cool with vintage air-conditioning. Of course, the main act is the under the hood, powered by a new crate 472 cid Hemi-V8. This engine has been built and prepared to deliver the ultimate in straightaway speed, backed up by a proven transmission. Since its build was completed in 2006, just a little over 1,350 miles have been clocked the odometer. This is one muscle-car that wasn’t created to languish in a garage or a static collection. It was built to perform. Custom alloy 10-spoke wheel, heavy-duty suspension, and sure-stopping brakes combine to make this beauty ready for the road. If you have ever wondered what it would be like to watch the fence posts go clicking by at high-speed, wonder no more and put your hand in the air to own this fabulous ‘Cuda. W W W. The Model: New for the Shelby line in 1969 was the 351-cubic inch “Windsor” V8, derived from the power-proven small block family. Ford handled much of the redesign of the new Mustang, transforming it into a Shelby, as Carroll Shelby was off on other ventures. Turning to A. O. Smith for the final outfitting of these cars, they epitomized the ideal of speed and style in one package, with a few even making their way to the world of motorsports. Considered a bit tamer than the GT500, the GT350’s were still a force to be reckoned with. These cars seemed to epitomize the idea of a gentleman’s sports car, but one that anyone could tame with a little patience. Up front, a new grille, hood and side ducts for cooling air, stretched the stock Mustang’s length by almost four inches. These special performance vehicles were set apart from the basic Mustang, including some high impact colors that Ford and Shelby both marketed as “The Grabbers”. It was a time of space exploration and unbridled horsepower, and the Shelby Mustangs are tangible evidence that proves it was a wonderful time to live.

As a result, production figures for 1969 and 1970 Shelby Mustangs are combined. According to factory records, a combined total of 935 GT350 coupes were produced. This example is finished in Grabber Blue and with black vinyl high-back bucket seats. South Bend’s Finest

The Model: For 1953, Studebaker using designs by Raymond Lowey, brought out a line of radically restyled cars that were cutting-edge in design for the time. Low, sleek and with a relatively powerful V8 engine, they helped keep this struggling independent alive for a few more years. In 1956, using the Packard V8, the Golden Hawk was born. For 1957, the talents of Duncan McRae gave the Lowey coupe a few tasteful updates, such as concave rear fins and developing a fiberglass filler panel for the hood. The panel was needed to accommodate the Paxton Supercharger fitted to the new Golden Hawk. Also, new was the use of the Studebaker designed and built Sweepstakes V8. The interior was restyled presenting a clean, attractive and functional dashboard created for the “Sports Car Pilot”. It featured a group of simple and easy to read gauges for speed, fuel, temperature and a tachometer. Just 4,356 customers stepped up for the Golden Hawk in 1957, and few, if any, were disappointed with their purchase. W W W. M O T O S T A L G I A . C O M

The Car: Panoz used the Ford 4.6 Liter SVT engine originally developed for use in the Cobra Mustang program. Hand-assembled these DOHC power plants are the top-of-the-performance-line. Riding on a set of Yokohama tires, the factory alloy wheels, this dark Charcoal Gray has been gingerly cared for. With the tan leather seats looking as they did when new, this rare GTLM model shows off the skill that was used to assemble this car. Upon close inspection, we did note a couple of minor blemishes to the paint, but the overall appearance is excellent as are all of the operational systems. R134a air-conditioning will keep you cool, the Alpine AM-FM-CD stereo will keep you entertained, the whitefaced SVT gauges will keep you informed and the Supercharged 4.6 Liter V8 will keep you on the move. This vehicle has never been smoked in, adult owned and well-maintained since new. With a price of over $100,000 when new 13 years ago, here is a chance to own a vehicle that will turn heads and might just be the most intriguing super-car you could own.

The Model: Dan Panoz grew up admiring sports cars. So much so that in 1989 he established Panoz LLC with one purpose in mind, to build the most technologically advanced sports car in America. He wanted to produce his cars in limited numbers, and at the same time produce a line of competition vehicles that would blow the doors off all challengers. His first production vehicle, the AIV, or Aluminum Intensive Vehicle, explored the use of lightweight alloys in the production of sports cars. His next production attempt was equally innovative with the Esperante. Released in 2001, this was the marriage of his expertise in using aluminum alloys and the emerging carbon-fiber technologies. As with the AIV, he turned to his contacts at Ford and once again used the 4.6L Modular V8, supercharged and rated officially at 320 HP. The Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission was employed and the rest was history. Each car was produced at Panoz’s Braselton, Georgia, facility using skilled craftsmen who made sure the bodies were as smooth as glass and trimmed with old-world skills. Limited in production, this exotic sports car is a pure-bred American product ready for the road.

1999 Shelby Series 1 Convertible Designer: Carroll Shelby Estimate: $110,000 - $165,000

The Model: One day while sitting in Shelby’s Gardena office, I made the mistake of asking him what was his favorite of all the cars he had produced? The answer came quick, the and loud, “Damn it, you should know that already, it is always the next one!” At the time I asked this question he was putting the finishing touches on his next one, his very own design from top to bottom, the Shelby Series 1. Getting this car from the blueprints to the highway was not easy, even for Carroll Shelby, but he had a team of dedicated people on his side. Designers who could adapt parts and pieces as needed, engineers who knew how to put things together, and those who knew how to make government monitors happy. The finished project was a dream. Working with John Rock from Oldsmobile, a source for the proven Aurora 4.0L DOHC, which Shelby was able to boost about 70 more horses out of it than factory specs, and stay within acceptable emissions levels. Safety was proven with crash testing, a very expensive proposition in anyone’s book. Then the critics who got to test the car and well, they really didn’t have all that much to criticize.

The Model: In the late summer of 1967, Carroll Shelby was putting the final touches on his “next” car. The GT500 had been released at the start of the 1967 model year and now that a higher horsepower version of the 428 was on the horizon, a new designation had to be developed. A little birdie landed on Shelby’s shoulder and told him that Chevrolet was bringing out a new Corvette for 1968 and that they were looking to call it the “King of the Road”. Shelby did a quick check and found that GM had not yet copyrighted the name, so calling up 3M, he had some decals fashioned overnight, slapped them on a car and called it the GT500KR. 40 years later he didn’t need to do a quarterback sneak with the name, he just pumped up the output of his latest GT500 and celebrated one of his favorite things, making his new “next” car. Adding 40 more horses and 30 pound-feet of torque, the new 70 “KR” can get up and scoot. Using a bit taller set of gears, 3.73 vs the GT500’s 3.31, you can stand on this car all day and it won’t break, it will just go fast.

The Car: Color was important to Shelby and this GT500KR is finished in Anniversary Silver with the big-bold blue stripes. This color scheme is even somewhat brought to the interior with silver/gray leather seats accented by the 6-speed shift knob finished in blue. Under the hood be sure to check out the SVT engine build tag that was signed by the actual mechanical artisans that hand-assembled this powerful 5.4 Liter V8 making sure it was perfect before leaving their workbench. This car is just as it left the factory with original wheels, Goodyear Eagle F1 tires, hoses, and belts all in perfect condition. Fire the engine up and listen to the low-restriction exhaust, close your eyes and suddenly it’s 1968 all over again. Just 1,011 GT500KR’s were produced, including the prototypes, with just 476 of them receiving this most attractive color scheme. Offered for one year only you are about a decade late to buy a new example, but this “KR” can fill that void in your car collecting life.

ot 32 L The Model: When first born, the little sport compact called Mustang was developed from the popular Falcon. It had a classic composition for a light performance vehicle and was economical to purchase and operate. That is until a Texan who loved to make cars goes fast got his hands on one. Carroll Shelby made his Mustang based cars into legends overnight. By the late 1960’s, Shelby had personally stepped back from the Ford Mustang program, but the cars bearing his name were just as potent and he had a hand in their design and development. For 1969, the Mustang GT’s featured a totally different front end, and many said the hand-selected engines put in the Shelby’s had just a bit more kick than the regular Ford products. There were few other machines from 1969 that could match the mighty GT500. And what few other performers could do was produce a car in striking colors and then offer it as a convertible.

The Car: One of just 42 GT500 convertibles finished in Grabber Green, according to documentation associated with this car, its original owner was Dennis Walsh, Regional Sales Manager. Shipped by rail to East Point Ford in Georgia, Walsh used the car to show off the performance of these mean machines. Showing just under 30,300 miles on the odometer today, the car was in the family for over 20 years and has always been cared for. According to the family, the car was equipped with a special intake manifold that was to be evaluated by Walsh for future planned production. It is reported this car retains it numbers matching engine with a deviation of the VIN stamped on the back of the block. Given a full restoration, it has been presented a number of awards and trophies since it was completed in 2005. It is fitted with factory AM-FM radio, interior Décor group, tilt-steering wheel and its original NACA air-induction hood. Topping off this car’s history is a copy of the Marti report which details the factory specification for this car. Well documented from birth, the next chapter in this astonishing car’s history should be in your collection.

The Model: When the Firebird was born in 1967, it was another peg in the success of John Z. Delorean. It was also another example of the excitement that was being produced by Pontiac. As a new series of motorsports was coming of age, several USA car makers produced vehicles that were aimed specifically at this market with Pontiac coming right out and saying it, Trans-Am. Customers could order any color combination they wanted, as long as it was Cameo Ivory with Blue stripes and a beautiful Blue vinyl interior. The base Trans-Am package included the 366 HP Ram Air III version of the 400 cid V8, which was plenty fast for those who were looking for real excitement and a whole lot more respect on the street. No mistaking a Trans-Am with its distinctive colors, functioning dual scoops on the hood, air inlets on both front fenders and an aerodynamically tested rear deck spoiler meant these cars not only looked the part, they played it too. In all, only 689 Trans-Am coupes were produced, with the base price coming in at $3,556, on top of which one could add on a few extras. A legend was born and only a few were able to experience these beasts when they were new. The Car: A few years back this gorgeous example of a Trans-Am was given a full and complete restoration that was so complete that when judged at the 2012 Pontiac-Oakland Club’s National Convention, it was awarded the Concours Gold Award scoring 384 of 400 points. With its heritage confirmed through PHS documentation, included with the car, this is not only a piece of art, it will be a wise investment too. Under the hood is the original “YW” coded Ram-Air III V8 that was completely rebuilt and finished in that distinctive Pontiac silver-blue hue, looking as fresh as it did the day she rolled off the assembly line. Taken down to bare sheet-metal, the body panels are laser-straight and no detail was overlooked, including removing the subframe and restoring it back to its original appearance with the proper components. Whenever possible the original parts were restored or replaced and when needed using proper date coded items employed. The fit and finish of this entire car is above factory specs including the Endura front fascia and even proper T3 headlights. Best of all this is one of just nine Ram-Air III Trans-Ams produced with factory air-conditioning. If you are looking for the ultimate in Pontiac collectibles, then we believe your search will come to an end when you purchase this fabulous Trans-Am.

2010 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Super Snake Designer: Vince LaViolette, Shelby Automotive Estimate: $60,000 - 85,000 Without Reserve Chassis Number: 1ZVBP8JSXA5124278

Engine: 5.4L 540hp V8 6 Speed Manual Transmission

Odometer: 2,255 Actual Miles

The Model: Tire smoke is a sensual smell. Some cars make more than others, like the GT500 Super Snake. With 750 HP it launches, corner exits are difficult although a smoke show is easy. Yes, the Super Snake sits lower on a polished set of Alcoa rims and yes it has all the body modifications you would expect, but underneath it all, you just can not help but to marvel at all that power. All that juice originates from a 5.4 liter V8 topped with a Whipple blower, huffing 16 PSI into the Shelby’s lungs. Engaging the throttle simultaneously delivers neck snapping performance, with a symphony of rpm’s from the ample Ford V-8 and the 4” tipped stainless steel exhaust. Inside the driver is immersed in a retro interior refined in 2010 and reminiscent of the ’64 model with a brushed aluminum accented 6 gauge instrument cluster and aluminum accented air register vents.

The Car - Delivered in Performance White with a black over the top racing stripe, the stance of this Super Snake says it means business. It is adorned from every angle with Shelby badging indicating that this is no ordinary Mustang. Under the hood, this car looks as it should registering just over 2,200 miles, spotless. The Kenne Bell supercharger dominates the space in the engine compartment, revealing what is hiding under the bulging track inspired Shelby aluminum hood with accessory hood pins. Styling carries through into the interior where Carroll Shelby’s name is monogrammed into the headrest as well as the Super Snake insignia on the matching seats. The leather bucket seats are in excellent condition as would be expected in a low mileage car. A leather wrapped 6-speed shifter in polished white is welcomed in a world of increasing paddle shift operated performance cars, and the center console is further accented with carbon fiber. Performance gauges such as the Auto Meter Products Boost indicator remind you that you are in for a lively ride. Like the muscle car era of years past, America is again delivering the ultimate pony cars to the market, get yours while you can.

1999 Lotus Esprit S4-350 Coupe Designer: Giorgetto Giugiaro/Julian Thomson Estimate: $45,000 - $75,000 Without Reserve

The Model: If Giorgetto Giugiaro had his way back in the mid-1970’s the new Lotus introduced in 1976 would have been called the Kiwi. He had created a masterpiece in the tradition of his polygonal “folded-paper” designs. In 1993, Julian Thomson did some needed updates that included a smaller spoiler, revised front and rear designs, side skirts and valance panels. While the 4-cylinder engines had proven plenty potent, for 1996, the Esprit V8 was released and the rest was history. Developing their own Type 918 V8 all-aluminum engine, it featured a flat-plane crankshaft and dual Garrett T25/60 Turbochargers. Derek Bell was called upon to develop a stronger transaxle and a legend was born. Extensive use of carbon-fiber helped lighten the car and added to its overall look. O-to-60 times were around 4.3 seconds and that was with the engine detuned at the factory. With a little adjusting, HP output could be raised to 500, but that was said to be a bit too tough on the transaxle.

The Car: For 1999, just 123 of the V8 Turbo Esprits were produced with all but 10 of them coming to the USA. This excellent example finished in Chrome Yellow and fitted with its original tan leathers, has been treated to an exhaustive mechanical rebuild ensuring top performance just as it had been designed to deliver. All connecting rod bearings were replaced and an upgraded head-stud kit was installed to allow re-use if needed. Heads were checked and found to be at factory specs as were the cylinder liners which showed virtually no wear. A new twin-disc clutch described as OEM equivalent was installed while the pressure plate and flywheel were found to be nearly perfect. New belts were installed, the starter rebuilt, while new coolant level and oil pressure sensor switches were also installed. No detail was overlooked including a refurbish of the Saturn V8 wheels. Stunning in its appearance, breath-taking in its performance, this is simply the most awesome Lotus one can aspire to own.

Absolutely Top-Shelf Workmanship

No Expense Spared

Engine: 427 cid “LS7” V8 Fuel Injection/480 bhp 4-Speed “M21” Manual Transmission Four Wheel Hydraulic Disc Brakes

The Car: One of the most spectacular colors offered on the 1969 Camaro was Daytona Yellow, a vibrant powerful hue that was in your face. Rarely ordered was the houndstooth interior in that lively yellow color. That is how this superb Camaro was originally produced at the Norwood, Ohio, plant, but today after a no-expense spared restoration, it has so much more. With a fresh crate 427 V8 under the hood, it is backed up by close-ratio Muncie “M21” four speed, this is a car that does not just look good, it moves like greased lightning. Other highlights found on this Camaro include the 12-bolt rear-end with 3.73 gears, disc brakes on all four corners, modern R134A air-conditioning, factory tachometer and related gauges, and a basic Delco AM radio. This is a genuine X11 car and has all the SS components including the steering wheel on a tilt-column, and dashboard with simulated wood-grain applique, center-shift console with a highly polished shift knob. Exterior appointments include black vinyl top, proper SS stripes, Rally wheels with Firestone Polyglas tires as well as front and rear spoilers. Kept in a climate controlled storage since its completion and used only on special occasions, this is honestly one of the most attractive and rare RS/SS Camaros you will ever have a chance to own.

Odometer: 8,075 Miles The Model: When Chevrolet reintroduced its re-born Camaro for 2010, it was apparent that the designers were bringing up an updated version of probably the most iconic 1969 designs. While some say that the 1967-68 editions were designed more by committee than stylists, the 1969 Camaro was able to break out of that mold just a tiny bit. Between unbeatable power-teams, striking high-impact colors and optional packages to dazzle the competition, Chevrolet had no problem selling these cars, even when the second generation’s delay forced Chevy to extend the production cycle for this model well into the 1970 model year. Chevrolet has always been an innovator and in the last 10 years they have been the leader in providing “plug and play” high-performance engines that deliver awesome horsepower and are emissions compliant. One of the stars of this program is the ZZ-427, which is truly the “King” of V8 engines. Originally produced in the late 1960’s, given modern engineering to perfection, this is the ultimate choice for builders and those who had a need for speed.

By the late 1950’s, these limited production vehicles which had depended upon power plants supplied by Chrysler from the start had grown quite fan base among those who knew quality automobiles. In 1958 the FVS which was powered by powerful “Hemi” V8 supplied by Chrysler. Shifting the new Franco-American design was a choice of four-speed manual transmission or the push-button operated Power-Flite automatic. This car was a mixture of old-world body construction combined with a modern drive-train, and it was well received. Just 85 units were produced in 1958 for its premiere model year, and finding an original example in decent condition is a rare treat indeed. The Car: This outstanding example of the Facel Vega has been treated to a full and complete restoration. Finished in a pleasing Argent Silver, it accents the deep “frenched” stacking headlights, with gleaming chrome bumpers, trim and flashy wire wheels. Under the hood is show-car ready with the might Mopar V8 beautifully finished including the “Batwing” air-cleaner. The interior has been finished in luxurious leather that will comfort the driver and three of his most intimate friends. The trunk area has also been finished and presents plenty of luggage room with the spare tire concealed in a special compartment. Performance is reported to deliver neck-snapping acceleration with smooth push-button shifting. As more collectors start to realize how special these cars in design and execution, their values continue to go up making this FVS a rising star you need to try and catch.

Fresh 2015 Frame-Off Restoration to Concours Standards

Entire Body of Removable Vinyl

Extraordinarily Rare Microcar

The Model: In 1943 Czechoslovakian brothers František and Mojmír Stránský designed and built a prototype small, inexpensive three- wheeled car, inspired by three-wheelers from Morgan Motor Company. In 1945, the brothers built their first production cars, using vinyl cloth instead of sheet metal as the bodywork. Powered by small motorcycle engines, the vehicles were priced at about one fourth of the cost of a typical car. After the war, the brothers joined with Velo, a small manufacturing company later renamed to Velorex. On January 21, 1954, František Stránský died in the crash of a Velorex prototype. His brother, Mojmír, refused to join the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and was ousted from the company he had founded. In 1963, production of the newly designed “Model 16” started fitted with either ČZ 175 or Jawa 350 type 572 engines. The Car: This Velorex 16/350 is fresh from a 2015 nut and bolt restoration. It is powered by the larger Jawa 350 vertical twin engine. Jawa motorcycles were imported into the US, enhancing parts support for this vehicle. The unique twostroke is timed at top, dead-center allowing the Dynastarter to fire the engine in either direction allowing this Velorex four speeds in either direction. The fit of the interior and exterior upholstery is fantastic. The attention to detail in reproducing the correct tight-fitting outer panels is exquisite. The dash retains its correct Skoda instrumentation. Fine wood finishing covers the dash and floor. With fewer than a dozen of these cars in the US and none likely in this condition, this amazing Velorex will be the cornerstone of any microcar collection. W W W. M O T O S T A L G I A . C O M

Coachbuilder: Bertone Designer: Giorgetto Giugiaro

Italian-American Hybrid Grand Tourer

Estimate: $75,000 - $115,000 Without Reserve

Beautifully Designed by Bertone

Chassis Number: 1R820766 Engine: 327 cid OHV V8 4-barrel carburetor/250 bhp 4-Speed Manual Transmission Four Wheel Hydraulic Disc Brakes Odometer: 71,350 Miles The Model: Founded in the 1930’s Iso, originally named Isothermos, was a leader in the production of refrigeration units. After the war, Renzo Rivolta had taken reigns and in 1953 refounded the company as Iso AutoVeicoli with the primary purpose of producing motorcars. Hitting a home-run with their first product, they had developed a little “bubble-car” known as the Isetta. In reality, Iso profited more from the licensing fees collected from other manufacturers that built the little Isetta under license, like BMW, which found outstanding success with the little front-door opening coupes. In 1963 the Iso Rivolta was born, featuring a modern contemporary design that many consider Giugiaro’s finest work. The Rivolta was a marriage of fine Italian coachwork and proven American horsepower from Chevrolet sourced 327 V8’s. Designed to be a Grand Tourer, its suspension used an uneven front linkage set-up connected to a sturdy sway bar, aided by a rear suspension comprised of twin trailing arms combined with De Dion rear axle and Watt’s linkage. Coils, shocks, and disc brakes are found on all four corners. Production was limited and today the Rivolta is highly sought-after. The Car: This car could be the quickest four-seats you may ever experience. Our consignor promises no disappointments with this Rivolta as it was treated to a total ground-up restoration that was completed in 2012. It is presented in a rich coffee-brown metallic with a soft beige leather interior that covers not only the luxurious seats but also carried over to the door panels and the dash panel. The black-leather wrapped factory steering wheel is mounted ahead of a full set of gauges that are all functional and easy to read. Under the hood, the Chevrolet 327 V8 has been refurbished and is reported to be in excellent running condition. Detailed to perfection it features the cast aluminum valve covers with red inserts as per the factory finish. One modern touch was the addition of a set of Enkei gold-tone honey-comb alloy wheels. Sitting level during a brief road-test this Rivolta performed just as it was designed, with excellent acceleration, cornering, and braking abilities. Showing virtually no wear or tear, it is ready for show or for touring duties, ready to deliver satisfying results in any service the new owner desires. 86 W W W. M O T O S T A L G I A . C O M

Highest Quality and Workmanship Outstanding Design and Styling Gorgeous Fit and Finish All Around

The Model: During the 1955 GM Motorama, one of the most popular cars on the Tour of Tomorrow was the Eldorado Brougham from Cadillac. Two years later, this stunning automobile was made available to the public, but it was only for those who had deep-deep pockets. Built with the same craftsmanship as the finest European luxury cars, the Brougham had one of the highest horsepower engines ever produced, as well as enough amenities to keep Professor Gadget busy for a month. Self-closing deck-lid, power everything, and sumptuous interiors that cradled the driver and 3 other passengers in the lap of luxury. Its most distinctive feature was the brushed stainless steel roof, one of the first applications of that almost indestructible metal in an automobile body, along with the lavish use of chrome trim both inside and out of the car. Air suspension constantly adjusted the ride for the most comfort and yes, air-conditioning was standard. With a delivered price above $14,000, it was the most expensive production car ever seen in America, and even at the heady price (when the Series 62 Cadillac convertible had a base price near $5,300), it is reported the GM lost money on every Eldorado Brougham they sold!

The Car: If you have never really studied the 1957 Eldorado Brougham, take a moment to look this car over. If you appreciate the finer things in life and have experienced the style, design, and workmanship that went into this car, there will be no doubt this car is for you. The Brougham was one of the first American cars to utilize the quad-headlight system, surrounded by gleaming chrome its front-end design makes a bold statement. Given a recent cosmetic restoration, the full leather seats comfort you. Finished in its original hue of Copenhagen Blue, the satin finish of the stainless steel roof sets this car off like a halo over an angel. During a recent test drive, it was reported that everything is in working order including the sometimes finicky air-suspension. Fitted with the exclusive Brougham wheel covers, the wide whitewall tires roll silently along the road. Those dual Carter carburetors regulate enough fuel to let this car cruise comfortably all day at highway speeds, but can instantly provide plenty of power to pass slower traffic and do what it was designed to do. Sixty years have passed since Cadillac introduced the elegant Brougham in their Eldorado line, and today they command as much respect as the day they were new.

ot 41 L The Model: Many fans of the “mid-year” Corvettes consider the 1967’s to be in a class by themselves. With a wide array of colors, trims, accessories and performance options available, one could order a unique car right from the factory and quite possibly create a one-of-one. One of the most popular choices in the powertrain selection for 1967 was the 390 HP, 427 Turbo-Jet V8, which provided plenty of torque, with nearly unbeatable acceleration. The best part about these big-block cars is that factory air-conditioning could be installed providing comfortable cruising temperatures for driver and passenger. For 1967, subtle styling cues also set these cars apart from earlier models. In today’s collector Corvette world, authenticity has become an art-form with accuracy in restorations being paramount to the dedicated hobbyist’s desires. The Car: This stunning Corvette convertible is like eye-candy for the Stingray fan. Finished in Ermine White with the red racing stripe centered on the stinger-hood, the word “wow” seems to be a universal first response. Under the hood, a matching numbers block sits, fully restored to factory specifications. It has everything you could wish for, sumptuous red vinyl bucket seats beckon you to sit inside, turn-up the factory AM-FM radio, hear that engine roar to life, push down on the clutch, pull the chrome shift lever into first, and prepare yourself for a thrill-ride that can’t be beaten. While you’re at it, power-up those windows and crank up the air-conditioning. During an inspection run, this car performed admirably with all gauges working and the sound coming from those side-mounted exhaust pipes just added to the ambiance of a perfect touring machine. Countless hours and dollars have been invested in making this Corvette a machine filled with beauty and perfection, and you can do the easy part by raising your hand and bidding on this Stingray. There will be no disappointments.

Odometer: 2,860 Actual Miles

The Model: When the folks at Dodge’s Performance Vehicle Operations Group went to work on the Ram 1500 pickups they were looking to produce an awesome machine. The results are a 5150-pound regular cab, short bed pickup truck that behaved more like a Trans-Am race car. Starting with the 8.3 Liter V10 that achieved 500 hp through a few tricks with the motor mounts plus the intake engine cooling systems. The SRT-10 pickup isn’t for the casual driver, you have to know how to handle this machine and you better know how to use a clutch as the Tremec T56 six-speed transmission is a must for this fire-breathing Ram. Acceleration you ask? How about going from 0-to-60 in under 5-seconds. A number of suspension modifications were included such as using Bilstein shock absorbers with performance tuned springs, plus an additional 5th shock on the rear axle to prevent wheel hop when lighting up the rear tires. The tuned suspension was lowered one-inch up front, 2.5 to the rear, and a heavy duty rack and pinion steering coupled with independent front suspension allowed this beast to be aimed and kept on the yellow brick road.

The Car: Finished in Patriot Blue Pearl with dual White racing stripes, this Ram SRT-10 pickup delivers an impressive visual impact. With the unique hood that was designed to cover the mighty V10, the power bulge is adorned with the Viper logos so there is no mistaking this for a farm-truck. A tonneau cover for the rear bed is finished off with a spoiler package the reduces lift and drag issues. Wicked looking alloy 10-spoke wheels are employed with low-profile radial tires for road-gripping confidence and plenty of open air to keep the disc brake rotors always cool. As if the mechanics of this truck are not entertaining enough, there is a complete sound system that offers AM-FM reception and a 6-disc CD player mounted in the center. The plush gray leather seats are soft and supple having been well cared for since new. The factory easy-to-read white-faced gauges are in perfect working order as are the interior climate controls with heating, defrosting and most important, air-conditioning. No questions what type of truck the lucky passenger is in with the SRT-10 logos on the passenger side of the dashboard. Stored indoors its entire life, this truck has been treated with kid-gloves from day-one. Used only for very special occasions, this is as close as you can come to a brand new super-performance pickup, one that will be going home to a new owner. If lucky enough, it could be you!

The Never-Built Modern Hemi-Cuda

Odometer: 4,400 Actual Miles

The Model: Back in the heyday of the muscle-car era, one of the rarest of all was a Hemi ‘Cuda convertible. When Dodge reintroduced the Challenger coupe, something was missing, its little brother the Plymouth ‘Cuda. Enter Norm Kraus, better known as “Mr. Norm”. He says he loved Mopar fans and will do anything for them, and that is what he did in the creation of his “Super ‘Cuda”. Starting with a Hemi equipped Dodge Challenger, Norm added a new grill trim reminiscent of the 1970 ‘Cuda’s, and he performed a similar trick to the rear-end treatment. Under the hood, he adds a Kenne Bell supercharger and front-mount intercooler capable of up to 900 HP, but the 650 HP version is a bit more street friendly. A Corsa Performance “cat-back” dual exhaust helps out too. Custom Mopar spider alloy wheels, Brembo disc brakes on all four corners and this is a car that will run rings around the competition.

The Car: Just like the original “Hemi ‘Cuda”, Mr. Norm produced just a handful of the “Super ‘Cuda” convertibles and to find one available is just about as rare of an occurrence as finding an original. This beautifully maintained example is one of Mr. Norm’s finest creations and while it has been enjoyed to a limited degree, today it appears to be as new as the day it rolled out of those shops where new legends are being born. Even with the top up, that sporty appearance stays true. Under the hood, the highly polished supercharger is the star of the show, and for a vocal accompaniment, the throaty roar from the exhaust will make gear heads applaud. It’s not just all glitz and glamour, this fine ride will get up and scoot with unofficial 0-to-60 times coming in under 5 seconds and top speeds well above posted speed limits everywhere. It provides the stock entertainment center, plus amenities like cruise control, power everything, including the folding top, and the most comfortable seats you can hope for at any speed. We searched the records and cannot find when another of Mr. Norm’s Super ‘Cuda convertible crossed an auction block, so this may be your one and only chance to bid on a legend that is admired today and will be treasured tomorrow. Trend Setting Styling for the Era

The Model: While Chevrolet may have started America’s love of domestic sports-cars, Ford perfected the notion of a sporty, personal car that presented the image of positive thinking while establishing styling trends that would continue on for over a decade and be reborn nearly 50 years later. When Ford released the little T-bird, it was an instant love affair for old and young alike. As opposed to the Corvette, which shared virtually nothing with its full-size sisters, the T-bird’s styling kept a family resemblance alive which helped propel Ford into the top-selling position for several seasons during the 1950’s. Thunderbird helped build showroom traffic and even though mom and dad might go home in a Fairlane sedan or Country Sedan station wagon, they felt they were bringing home just a bit of The T-bird flair. In its first year, 16,155 examples were sold, compared to Chevrolet’s 4,460 total sales in Corvette’s first three model years combined.

The Car: Looking under the hood of this gorgeous Thunderbird, you will notice that on the data plate under the “Color” entry is the letter “V”. That represents one of the most outstanding colors applied to the T-bird, Goldenrod Yellow. Introduced towards the latter part of the model year, the Goldenrod Yellow T-birds are treasured among collectors, as well they should be. This example has been treated to a full restoration during which time a couple of convenience upgrades were included. The electrical system was changed to the more popular 12-volts and for cool summertime cruising a modern air-conditioner has been added. Externally, this car is a fresh and pure as the day it rolled off the assembly line at the legendary Rouge plant in Dearborn. Another modern-day accessory tastefully added is a custom-fit AM-FM sound system. The engine is fitted with the accessory dress-up kit featuring finned valve covers, chrome air-cleaner and a look that cannot be beaten. Driving this car is a dream with all gauges working including the all-important tachometer and even the electric clock. Easy to adjust, the seat is power-adjustable and the windows glide up and down electrically. Fitted with a black softtop, this beautiful example of the premiere year for Thunderbird is one ride you do not want to miss out on.

The Model: During the late 1960’s, the image for Oldsmobile went from being your father’s family car to being you big brother’s hot-rod. Ever since the introduction of the Rocket V8, Oldsmobiles had been building a reputation of being a fast car, even if it did have more luxury appointments than say a Pontiac or Chevrolet. With the introduction of the 442 option in 1964, Oldsmobile also meant muscle and reluctantly, GM execs had finally realized that while not everyone wanted 350+ HP, the sporty image that came to the more pedestrian models helped build sales. Hurst had partnered with other marques prior to teaming up with Olds, but no other brand seemed to identify to the degree the Cutlass based models did. For 1970, Olds had been selected for the honors of pacing the Indy 500 and this was a perfect platform to show off the talents of Lansing with this supreme vehicle. Production was limited, interest was high, and unlike some muscle car special editions, by the end of the model year, there were no left over Hurst/Olds to give those close-out bargain prices. 98 W W W. M O T O S T A L G I A . C O M

The Car: As with all of the 1970 Hurst/Olds editions, only one color was available, Arctic White with Gold accents. Customers could opt to have the Indy 500 Pace car graphics installed at the dealership, or left off for a cleaner, meaner look. This example is fitted with all of the standard equipment and a bit more. Under the hood, the detailed 455 Olds engine has been detailed and features all of the production labels and decals. Fitted with power steering, power brakes, discs up front, and the dependable Turbo-Hydramatic transmission, this Olds performs just as the brochures and period review said it would. Extras added to the car include factory air conditioning and for entertainment, there is the AM/FM 8-track audio system. Close inspection will reveal the body panels are nearly flawless in their alignment with the gaps for the doors, deck-lid and hood even all around. The roar of the dual exhaust system is like a symphony for a gear-head. The all vinyl interior is clean and detailed with all of the gauges working as they should. Hard to believe that this is a 47-year-old machine as its lines are timeless and its performance is something to be envied even today. If this was your father’s Oldsmobile, you had one pretty cool dad!

The Model - In 1976, Aston-Martin reached back into the history books and brought out the all new Lagonda Sports Saloon. Styled by William Town, he gave the car crisp lines creating a flying wedge with intricated details such as the low-flat narrow radiator shell that was flanked by the nearly invisible headlights. In its stock form, it was rated as the fastest production sedan in the world. Four passenger seating in luxurious individual bucket seats added to the flair of this car, and while the name beckoned back to a by-gone era, all of the modern amenities were included, including digital instrumentation and even touch-command controls on the dashboard. In production from 1978 to 1992, there were to be several generations, but ownership was exclusive with just 645 units produced during the 14 years in production. Using a DeDion rear axle which was fitted with trailing arms and a Watt’s linkage, the handling of these cars was state-of-the art. Combined with self-leveling coils springs and shock absorbers, the comfort of the Lagonda was unbeatable.

Built-In Updated Amenities

The Model: When the E-Type Jaguar was born in the early 1960’s, its design epitomized just what a sports car should look like and how a sports car should perform. Sayer’s design was the harmonious balance of form and function, long nose, short deck, seating for two, which combined with superb engineering created a legend. A decade later, the E-type continued to be a trend setter, and even 50 years down the road the appearance of an E-type turns head and gets admiring glances. Enter, Greg Beacham, who has given a select few tired old Jaguars a new heart and a new lease on life. Using modern and proven drive-trains, the original “XKE’s” that receive the Beacham touch receive not just a new drive-train, but up-dated chassis with anti-dive suspension, traction control, ABS brakes, plus modern electronics for both operational and entertainment purposes. A custom interior with soft leather and polished dashboard facing that keeps in the Jaguar’s tradition of perfection at every step. Only the keenest eyes can detect the exterior changes that include modern sports mirrors and door handles.

The Car: This beautiful example of Beacham’s handiwork may have started life as a V12 coupe, but today is a magnificent open two-seater that will be the envy of all who dare to inspect this splendid machine. In addition to the powerful new generation V8 under the hood, this car has been treated to new suspension, with Apracing disc brakes on all four corners, a superbly detailed engine bay, complete custom leather interior in comforting and ergonomically correct padding, as well as modern air-conditioning, power windows, full assortment of electronic gauges and an Alpine sound system that features radio, CD, MP3 and Bluetooth capabilities. Also, included in the package is a modern GPS unit, plus 17” chrome wire wheels which capture the style of the original 15” factory wires. The Model: Introduced for the 1961 model year, the Fiat 1500 Cabriolet brought a little bit of romance to a very pedestrian line of sedans and Kombi wagons. With styling from Pininfarina, a number of contemporary critics noticed the more than just passing resemblance to the Ferrari 275 GTS. While the 1.5 Liter inline four provided plenty of horsepower, constant improvements were introduced culminating in the final Tipo 118K version, it added eight more ponies for this final edition. For its lightweight design, this upgrade to the engine’s output made the Fiat 1500 Cabriolet one of the peppiest little economy sports cars on the market with prices in the USA starting right around $2,650. Today the Fiat 1500 serves as a great way to enter the Italian sports car market while on a budget. Economical to purchase, operate and maintain, this car might just be the best bang for your buck in the world of compact sports roadsters.

The Car: In what appears to have been a fairly comprehensive restoration, this 1500 Cabriolet is powered by that time proven Fiat 1.5 liter engine. Fitted with a period correct Weber DATR two-barrel carburetor, the performance of this car is downright awesome. Finished in a deep rich Burgundy, the interior has been done in a light tan which extends to both front bucket seats including the locking center storage bin, the small rear bench, door and quarter panels and the top surface of the dashboard. The color-keyed carpet has been custom fitted for the floor and also includes matching protective mats for driver and passenger. Both the speedometer plus multi-gauge tachometer are mounted in beautifully refinished walnut veneer backings and directly in the center appears to be a period correct multi-band radio. Under the hood the engine compartment presents a patina of light usage but shows no major seepage from the Weber carburetor or oil from any other important parts. Radical Upgrades in Drive-Train and Suspension

Over-the-top Detailing and Components

Detailing Inside and Out, Top to Bottom

The Model: What came first, the Cat or the Snake? In one of the biggest misconceptions of automotive history, Carroll Shelby’s Cobra was produced before he was asked to help stuff a small-block Ford V8 under the hood of a Sunbeam Alpine. While Shelby was figuring out how to shoe-horn the 440 lbs engine into the space normally occupied by a small little four-banger, his close friend, Ken Miles was performing a similar job but on a much smaller budget than Shelby. Both racing icons working independently of each other came up with similar solutions to taking a peppy little Alpine and turning it into a fire-breathing sports-car that was well-deserving of the name, Tiger. While Shelby had been hoping to snag the contract to assemble these cars in the USA, the factory had made arrangements to utilize the Jensen brothers in England, for that task. Shelby would receive a royalty payment for each Tiger produced, while his friend Ken Miles was pretty much left with his prototype car as a consolation prize. Over the years owners have figured out ways to make their Tigers better. Larger displacement engines, tweaks to the suspension, better brakes, wheels and even occupant comfort have been added. In stock form, the Tiger can be lots of fun, but for enthusiasts with a real need for speed, modified Tigers fill the bill.

The Car: Finished in Competition Yellow, this Tiger has been treated to a tasteful build that has improved its performance and created quite an attractive car to be seen in. #187 is listed in the Sunbeam Tiger Registry and has been verified as a real-deal Tiger. Under the hood sits a 347 cubic inch V8 that shares its exterior dimensions with the original small-block this car was born with. Modifications had to be made to the hood installing a function air-scoop to help feed this hungry engine through its Edelbrock carburetor which is mounted atop an Edelbrock RPM alloy intake manifold. Custom alloy valve covers and air-cleaner top set off the beauty of the build, and when run on a Dynamometer it verifies a solid 476 HP are being delivered to the rear wheels. Wilwood disc brakes were installed on all four corners and the suspension has been tuned and balanced to ensure steady handling and responsive actions when needed. Completed four years ago, it has been driven less than 1,300 miles, shown at just a few exhibitions and never raced or abused. Take this car to several local events, win some trophies and then take it out and use it for what it was built for, enjoying the open road, but only at the maximum posted speed limits. Yeah, right.

The Model: This wedge-shaped vehicle first released in 1972 and billed as the remarkable stylist Giugiaro’s “Silver Car”, the Esprit was in production for nearly 30 years. Over the years there were a number of improvements in handing, performance, brakes and electrical systems. However, many consider the Turbo SE models from the early 1990’s to be a high-point in this model’s long and glorious history. For a car that had remained in production longer than Henry Ford’s Model T, there had been volumes written about this car through its many evolutions. It’s handling wasn’t perfect, but experienced drivers loved it. Its performance was far superior to any other cars in its weight and price class. Little problems arose and were addressed by the factory. By the early 1990’s, the only thing Lotus had to try and improve were the sales numbers. For 1991, safety was paramount at Lotus with the introduction of anit-lock brakes and driver’s side air-bags. Air conditioning was re-routed to distribute cool air more effectively. These were cool cars when new, just ask James Bond.

The Car: Red, rare and exciting all combine to make this example we are proud to offer a fabulous opportunity to own a modern-day classic. According to our research, just 22 Esprit Turbo SE coupes were produced for the 1991 model year. Finished in brilliant red with saddle-tan leather seating, this coupe has been given the finest care possible from the time it was new. This is an honest driver quality car that is equipped with all the proper amenities such as modern air conditioning, factory installed AM-FM and cassette stereo, power windows and even a power-activated sunroof. Showing under 36,000 miles, which appear to be from new, there is a light patina of use throughout the automobile, which makes this a very inviting car to take out and enjoy. During our inspection, we looked at several area of concerns with these cars and found no signs of oil seepage and the suspension appears to be all sorted out and ready to go. This could be a bit of a diamond in the rough, that needs just a bit of TLC to become a crown-jewel.

Odometer: 15,921 Actual Miles

The Model: A high-performance sporty Cadillac, why not? A genuine factory built Cadillac station wagon, why not? A high-performance sport Cadillac station wagon, are you nuts? But that is just what Cadillac brought to market when they introduced the CTS, and then stepped it up a notch with the “V” edition. The “V” represents “Vette” as in Corvette. This was the ultimate grocery-getter, which made sure the ice cream wouldn’t melt. If it is starting to get warm, leave the container on the air-conditioned bucket seats. Station wagons are a rare commodity in today’s automotive scene and rarity isn’t the reason to be looking at this Cadillac. The CTS-V wagon is a powerful beast that was perfected in 2014. With 556 HP and 551 pound-feet of torque, there isn’t much on the road that this car can’t pass, well except maybe for a gas station. But when you’re driving a car this cool, who cares about MPG, it is MPH that matters.

The Model: Cadillacs have always made an impression, from their bold styling to the aura of luxury. This CTS-V wagon is no exception. Pampered and loved, cared for and fed on a regular basis, the sparkle of the paint, the glint of the chrome wheels makes it the center of attention wherever it goes. 0-to-60 times are well under the six-second mark which is pretty remarkable for a car that weighs something north of 2-tons. It has all the fixin’s for a luxury ride, heated and cooled bucket seats, power everything, navigation, complete entertainment center, including a backup camera, plus the comfort of owning such carefree performance family wagon. Many of us in the collector world are friends and having a station wagon to take others to dinner is so convenient. Giving them a ride in this CTS-V can be both the appetizer before the meal and a post dessert non-fattening treat. There are some claims that owning a car like this might even help boost one’s testosterone levels too. Sadly the CTS-V wagon has been discontinued and an equivalent sedan would run north of $90,000 out the door. Put your hand in air and your W the W W. MO T Oset S TA L G Iprice A . The Model: During the 1960’s, there was usually only one car a red-blooded American teenage boy could think of, a Corvette Stingray. Almost from the day they went on sale, the Stingray coupes have been a favorite starting point for those who wanted something a little extra. Tweaking the stock engine for a few more HP, adding a few touches to the exterior giving the car a custom look, or refining the cockpit to give the driver and lucky passenger the ride of a lifetime. While there are plenty of purists today who restored their Corvettes back to pure-stock condition, there is another breed of owners who want something different, and those fine folks have created works or rolling art that not only look good but can run like greased lightning. The Car: Starting with a solid chassis, the build on this 1966 coupe is top-shelf all the way. Finished in a deep, rich shade of Daytona Blue, the body work and panel alignment are beyond perfection. Hand-crafted stuffed dark charcoal leather seats cradle driver and passengers, with a premium sound system to help the occupants escape to their own special happy place. Under the hood is a mighty LS3 V8 pumping out at least 438 HP, which many feel is greatly under-rated. Backed up by a six-speed manual transmission, this car rides on a set of C6 styled Spider chrome wheels and low-profile tires with stopping power provided by a Wilwood disc-brake set-up. Showing under 1,200 miles since the build was complete this could be the star attraction at the local cruise-in, or may even be a trophy car at a local or even regional car show. Any way you want to use this mighty Corvette, it stands ready to serve and please.

The Model: Wanting to do something special in 1953, Harley Earl let the design teams at each of GM’s top-line divisions create limited edition convertibles. Cadillac released the luxurious Eldorado, Oldsmobile the slimmed down 98 Fiesta and at Buick, the beautiful Skylark. This modified drop-top features Buick’s new “Nail-Head”, and showed off many cutting-edge design innovations. For 1954, Cadillac continued with the Eldorado, the Olds Fiesta was temporarily retired and Buick brought back the Skylark in a fashion that many consider even grander than the original. With the wheel wells scalloped out and painted accenting colors, magnificent Kelsey-Hayes chrome wire wheels and the restyled rear quarter panels topped with huge chrome-plated tail-light housing, Skylark for 1954 defined what the American automotive scene was all about: big, bold, powerful and an instant status symbol. 114 W W W. The Car: Beauty in motoring is what this 1954 Skylark from Buick represents. Slipping the lever into drive and you are whisked away back to the 1950’s as the Sonomatic radio comes to life. Driving is a breeze with power steering, with sure stops coming from power brakes. Power is found to control the front seat position plus raise and lower the windows. The navy blue soft top fits snuggly in the up position and folds neatly into the rear storage well. With its previous restoration aging nicely there are few cosmic issues which can be quickly remedied. Under the hood looks fresh and in order, glass is good all-around. The body panels are smooth with doors, hood, and deck-lid properly aligned. Even the undercarriage is in show-car condition. A legendary car from when Buick built better cars. 115 W W W. Factory WS6 Performance Package

Eagle Graphics and T-Tops

The Model: 1979 would be a high-water mark for Pontiac’s Trans-Am. It marked this performance edition of the Firebird’s 10th Anniversary, it also marked the first time that Trans-Am would be selected to pace NASCAR’s Daytona 500 race. These two events were rolled into one package that saw plenty of popularity when new. It also marked the end of the installation of the engine that made Trans-Am a legend, the mighty 400 cubic-inch V8. Even in its toneddown form that year, there was enough power at the end of the accelerator to warm the hearts of any gearhead. When mated to the four-speed transmission, it was a force to reckon with. Yes, they had a special two-tone paint treatment and the pretty decals promoting the legendary Daytona 500, but for a select few, there was also the 400-cubic inch V8 and a four-speed manual transmission. Today in the collector-car world, the 1979 models have become highly sought after with unrestored and well-maintained examples commanding premium dollars. W W W. M O T O S T A L G I A . C O M

The Car: Born at General Motors’ Van Nuys Plant in Southern California, this car was technically not available for sale in the Golden State. The mighty 400 was just too much for the highways to handle, also there were some questions about emissions. That little fact aside, these cars were very limited in numbers with just 1,817 produced with this very desired power-train. Everything is right with this Trans-Am, the proper Platinum over Charcoal paint scheme, factory decals on the side and on the hood with the famous “Screaming Eagle”, and under the hood is just as it came from the factory. Showing under 52,000 miles from new, there are a few little tell-tale hints that this car has seen the road, but the appearance is nearly new. Fitted with a factory AM-FM/8-track sound system, glide on back to those Disco days and be the king of cool. Those factory alloy wheels have never been used as curb feelers and are shod with a set of B. F. Goodrich Radial T/A tires, this car is turn-key ready to hit the road and not be hidden away in a dark garage or carted around in an enclosed trailer. Considered by many to represent the muscle-car era’s last gasp, don’t let the chance to own some excitement slip through your fingers.

Celebration of Legendary “Boss” Mustang

Hand Built in 2010 as Pilot Produciton #001

1 of 12 Produced Only 5 Believed to Survive

The Model: When the new generation of the Boss 302 was on the drawing board, the American auto-industry was in a major tailspin. While other car makers were in Washington D.C. pleading for a bailout, Ford was busy coming up with an even more potent version of their production Mustang GT. Rated at 412 HP, the GT was plenty powerful and had received high marks from the automotive press. However, when the Boss 302 showed up, it sported 32 more horses and was hailed as a motoring miracle. Special cylinder heads with strong alloy were port altered for maximum efficiency. A totally different intake manifold was developed with runners that looked like vintage velocity stacks, combined with higher lift cams, larger valves, and race-spec bearings. Also, the baffled oil pan was set to hold 8 ½-quarts of synthetic oil. The blending of this engine’s power to the transmission, rear axle and suspension was seamless, with acceleration resulting in 0-to-60 times of under 4.4 seconds! More powerful than a Camaro SS, better handling in some opinions than the Shelby machines, the Boss 302 was the perfect tribute to the fore-bearer that had been produced to qualify those machines for Trans-Am competition. 118

The Car: There was no mistaking the Boss 302 from other run-of-the-mill Mustangs. Like the original, its unique exterior décor set these cars apart, as if the running gear didn’t do that. Produced for just two years, a total of 3,249 Boss 302 Mustangs were produced for 2012. This example that has barely had break-in miles put on the clock, is finished in Black with the distinctive red markings. Fitted with the Recaro Boss 302 leather and suede bucket seats emblazoned with the car’s logo. The rest of the interior is pretty much down to business with the factory AM-FM-CD player, climate control and steering wheel fitted with numerous remote-controls. The engine roars to life with ease, only a few miles have been put on this car, but the entire engine-drivetrain, suspension, handling and even the Torsen differential combine to make this machine a dream to drive. Just 612 Boss 302’s received the Black-Red treatment, which includes the red anodized alloy wheels which still wears the factory Pirelli tires. 119

Ultimate Art-Deco Automotive Styling

Simple Mechanics, Exotic Coachwork

Airflow Design Positive Head-Turner

Mileage: 65,335 Miles Showing

The Model –The trio of Breer, Skelton, and Zeder were what many considered the three wise men of the Chrysler Corporation. By the 1930’s, all three of these mechanical geniuses were legends with experiences dating back to the latter years of the 19th century! Working with designs that were inspired by Breer’s fascination with the flying “V” formation of wild geese, they experimented with streamline design, testing many of their ideas in wind-tunnels. For a combination of strength and weight savings, the Airflow design was one of the first to combine the chassis and body as one unit. Over 50 different design models were tested before they realized that items like stand-up headlights and flat front grilles were so aerodynamically disastrous that in some cases the car was better off going down the road backward. The answer was a smooth, gently-arced front end that allowed air to flow over the car, cutting wind resistance, providing more speed with less power. This new Airflow design fit right into the then contemporary Art-Deco movement. Walter P. Chrysler loved the Airflow and designated that both Chrysler and DeSoto would receive this break-through design. Many feel the most stylish element of the Airflow’s front-end styling was the beautifully crafted “waterfall” grille which was exclusive to the Desoto line.

The Car: Even today this DeSoto Airflow is a captivating automobile. Restored a number of years ago it retains if fresh appearance and stands ready to hit the road. Finished in dark brown with light tan fenders and accents, the proportions are really made to stand out in the two-tone finish. Under the hood, the engine bay was restored to like new condition both cosmetically and mechanically. Used sparingly since it was completed, the seats look fresh and the simulated wood-grain dashboard contains all the meters needed for trouble-free motoring. Seats are done in a pleasing tan-brown check pattern with the floors covered with wall to wall deep tan carpeting with a lighter tan material used for the door panels. Dashboard and garnish moldings have all been done in a simulated wood finish, while the gauge faces are clean, clear and easy to read. With the engine purring, slip the car into gear, release the light clutch pedal and this full-size sedan is ready to hit the road. Even the luggage compartment has been restored and trimmed out just as it was the day it rolled off the assembly line. For the ultimate expression of Art-Deco, this Airflow from DeSoto is an icon of that exciting era in design.

The Car: Ever noticed that just before GM retires a generation of cars, they always seem to hold the best for last? With history repeating itself over and over again, that was the case in 2013 as the last of the C6 Corvettes were coming off the assembly line, an honest world-class performance machine was born in the ZR1 package. 638 HP right out of the box, superb handling, excellent braking power and modern technology all combined to create an unbeatable package. When Car & Driver compared the “aging” C6 ZR1 against the brand-spanking new Dodge Viper SRT-GTS, it couldn’t hold a candle to the Corvette with lap time differences of up to two seconds. It might have been the last of a generation, but it was the best. Add to that a number of bonus items, such as the 60th Anniversary trim option, the C6 came in like a lamb and went out like a lion. The Model: This is the ultimate in performance, style, and looks, this Arctic White ZR1 accented with the Blade Silver center-stripe is every bit what a modern performance car looks, sounds and acts like. Driven only on short hops, this 2013 Corvette is virtually brand new. With a base price tag started at $111,800, which included a short novel filled with performance items, another $10,000 for the 3ZR option package, and then the addition of the 60th Anniversary package plus gas guzzler tax, the special Design-7 black out alloy wheels and before tax and registration you are right at the $125,000 mark! This car has it all, all of which has been meticulously cared for since new. Who cares about Bluetooth, upgrades Navigation or sound systems, it is the 3.4 seconds of going from 0 to 60 mph that matters and no other car can take to that speed with the comfort of this Corvette.

Always a Favorite Among Buick Fans

Odometer: 56,650 Miles

The Model: Watching Ford single-handedly take over the personal luxury market with the four-seater Thunderbird, got the folks at General Motors to return to the drawing boards and come up with a competitive model. Rakish lines, the most luxurious appointments and plenty of horsepower under the hood were to be the main ingredients. Early on the aim was to market this car as a Cadillac, but Buick protested and was eventually awarded this new sporty coupe. Calling on a name that had originally been used to describe the pillarless hardtop model, the Riviera was a marketing sensation. Priced comparable to the T-bird hardtop, this new Buick soon established its own niche in the automotive world. Introduced for 1963, two years later the design was perfected when the two pods on the sides of the grille concealed stacked headlights behind two motorized grills. With a powerful V8 engine, nearly every power amenity you could hope for, and looks that were distinctive and pleasing all combined to make owning a Riviera a status symbol for success.

The Car: Finished in its original shade of Arctic White, this Riviera is stunning in its design and presentation. Fitted with the legendary “nail-head” V8, there is plenty of power to cruise the boulevard, and to do it with class and elegance. The plush bucket seats are covered with matching white leather while the wood accents set off the controls and instruments for the driver’s delight. This Riviera appears to be an original and unrestored car, with the odometer showing below 57,000 miles. As the engine comes to life, the assortment of power equipment responds to the driver’s wish. With gleaming chrome, supple seating and all of the components in-tune with each other, it will be just as comfortable at the end of your journey as it was at the start. The list of power equipment includes steering and brakes, front seat and windows, plus the radio antenna for the Sonomatic push-button AM radio. Keeping the car comfortable is factory air-conditioning and to wipe your nose sits a tissue dispenser under the dashboard. In recent months these first generation Rivieras have become hot-property, and leading the pack are the 1965’s with unique and attractive styling from all angles.

ot 59 L The Model: When Chevrolet released the SSR (Super Sport Roadster) in 2003, it was just a little bit anemic, to say the least. Yes, the Vortec V8 had 300 HP, but owners often complained this 4,700 lbs beast could hardly get out of its own way. That was resolved in 2005 with the introduction of the LS2 6.0L V8 that was teamed up with a potent supercharger and able to pump out 390 HP. Drawing on a design from the late 1940’s when Chevrolet ruled the pickup market with their Advanced Design styling, the SSR took several cues with the bullnose hood, rounded fenders, and horizontal themed front grille. Running improvements were incorporated throughout the SSR’s four-year life span and critics seem to agree, by the last year, this sporty truck was dialed-in and ready to shine. Considered an instant classic by its fans, they never really hit their stride in the world of sales, falling short of predetermined marks. Over the four years, production was right around the 25,000 mark, making them highly sought after collectibles today, especially the last of the breed, which were simply the best.

SSR’s were well equipped and this is no exception. The metal roof folds neatly behind the driver’s seat and the tonneau covered pickup bed is available for carrying luggage or picnic supplies. The Model: When the original Austin-Healey sports cars were designed, they were not for the faint-of-heart, but were for those who were ready to hit the road and expect white-knuckle rides. From the early fours and sixes, Healey began to develop a more civilized sport cabriolet and the introduction of the BJ7/Mark II 2+2 edition arrived at the end-goal. Roll-up windows, reliable heaters, and performance that won the respect of seasoned motorists. These cars had it all, a warm heater, overdrive transmission, disc brakes up front, and a spirit of competition. It was quick, 0-to-60 in under 10-seconds and a top speed just above the 115-mph mark. Steering was quick and responsive, taking corners level and straight, coming to a stop simple and efficient. The “Big-Healeys”, as they are called by their avid fans, are the perfect machines for driving down the road or on the track at full speed. The Car: With a keen eye for detail and authenticity, this classic example of an Austin-Healey 3000 is finished in its original Colorado Red finish and fitted with a complete black leather seating surfaces. Door panels and dash trim are also finished in black with black carpet for covering the floor. Stashed neatly in the boot is the black folding top reproduced in the exact same grain as the original with the plastic windows showing clean, clear and without major scratches. Under the hood, that legendary inline six gleams and those SU carburetors feed plenty of fuel to the engine keeping it alive and well. Those gleaming knock-off chrome wire wheels sparkle in the sunlight, the chassis has been detailed and is ready to roll. While the early history of this car has been lost, it is believed to have been delivered new in the USA and while very authentic in detail, this car is not a trailer queen. During a recent test run, this Austin-Healey was reported to run quite well and everything appears to have been sorted out including the electrical systems. Restored to Authentic Condition Affordable, Enjoyable Early V8 Ford Delightful Driving Experience

Odometer: 500 miles Showing

The Model: One of the most innovative designs to come on the automotive scene during the 1930’s, was E. T. “Bob” Gregorie’s Lincoln Zephyrs. These vehicles were streamlined and exuded the Art-Deco era on wheels. The following year the Zephyrs little brother, the V8 powered Ford reflected the Zephyr’s styling. Bodies were larger which meant more room for the occupants, and that little V8 engine was plenty powerful. Seats were comfortable and the dashboard presented the driver with all the gauges in a pair of pods, one for the speedometer and odometer, the other grouping oil pressure, charging system, engine temperature and fuel level. For 1937, a total of 26 passenger car models were offered from Ford in the 74 series with the smaller 60 HP V8, and two trim levels in the 78 series, Standard and Deluxe. In the Deluxe line, the price-leader was the basic 2-passenger, 5-window coupe of which 26,738 copies were produced with a base price of $659 delivered at the factory. After WWII, these coupes were in plentiful numbers and ripe for the picking to be chopped, channeled and rodded, or turned into a dirt-track jalopy. Survivors today are rare and highly prized among collectors. The Car: Fans of early V8 Fords, those equipped with Henry’s famous flathead engine, are avid in their pursuit of preserving vehicles from this exciting era of one of the largest family owned businesses ever created. This 1937 Model 78 Deluxe coupe has been restored to its original configuration and today is presented in a highly-polished deep dark Washington Blue. The interior is trimmed in authentically reproduced tan Mohair fabric for the seats, door panels and headliner. All of the garnish molding, as well as the dashboard, have been restored with the proper simulated wood grain finish. Under the hood, the engine has been detailed to like-new condition and even the trunk has been finished and trimmed as original including the spare tire and bumper jack. The all-steel wheels are finished in the same dark blue finish as the body and are wearing proper hubcaps, trim rings, and wide-whitewall tires. One upgrade is that the electrical system has been changed to 12-volts for swift sure starts and brighter lighting for nighttime drives. While this coupe has been given a full restoration, it has been used sparingly and today has a light patina of use. Driving and enjoying this coupe is what it was built for and the high-bidder of this delightful car will be a double-winner.

Chassis Number: XA2S290987A Decoded: X=Mini; A=Engine type; 2S=2-dr Saloon; 2=Square-nose Saloon; 90987=Unit number; A=Longbridge, UK Assembly

The Model: After the end of WWII, a number of small manufacturers in Europe began producing econ-o-mobiles, which Alec Issigonis call “bubble-cars”. They were cheap, reliability was a challenge, often quite uncomfortable and performance was a joke. Working with BMS, Issigonis would settle for a vehicle that remedied all those situations and the Mini was born. After the first units were sold in the early 1960’s, constant improvements were rolled into production models. A strange thing happened, some privateers began to enter the little Mini’s in road-rally events, and stranger yet, they were coming home as winners. Throughout the 1960’s and into the 1970’s, the legend of the Mini grew. Even after they had gone out of production, the British built Mini’s, and a number of other built under license in other countries became hot-ticket items for those wanting to get into the world of rally racing. So popular that in 2002, under BMW leadership, the Mini marque was reborn and today thrives in the new-car market place around the world. W W W. M O T O S T A L G I A . C O M

The Model: The BMW 850i coupe’s design is timeless. Even 25 years after it was released to the public the handsome styling of these cars continue to attract attention from not only the “car-crowd” but also the general populace. For those who have heard of its legendary performance, the V12 engine under the hood only adds to the respect these cars so richly deserve. The origins of BMW’s 8-series was conceived in 1981, but it wasn’t until 1984 that the actual groundwork for this upper-class coupe began in earnest. BMW was a pioneer in the use of CAD software which was used to refine the aerodynamics of these new bodies. Immediately after its unveiling at the fall of 1989 Frankfurt Motor Show, orders started coming in for the 850i. For some customers, there would eventually be a 3-year wait from the time the order was placed until the factory could promise delivery. From 1992 to 1999, just 1,218 of the 850i coupes were be produced making it scarce commodity by any standard. The Car: For collectors, having the first model 850i in a 6-speed manual configuration is the perfect example of what a luxury performance coupe should be. Reported to be in “original” and “unrestored” condition it’s a perfect candidate for restoration. Finished in Mauritius Blue, the interior which is trimmed in maple veneers features lightweight seats luxuriously covered in light tan leathers. The floors are covered in a matching light tan finish with BMW signature floor mats to protract the factory installed coverings. It is well appointed with typical luxury equipment including air conditioning, power windows (which automatically lower about a half-inch when you touch the door handles), a superb sound system, and little convenience items such as a servo operated trunk opening system. Add to this the delightful performance of the V12 engine and the miles of enjoyable motoring that lie ahead and this 850i BMW coupe could fulfill the ambition to restore a desirable V12 BMW.

The Model: When the ZR1 was released, it was the “must have” car of the early 1990’s. While a standard Corvette coupe with the respectable Chevrolet developed 5.7L V8 was a decent performance car, the ZR1’s Lotus designed LT5 5.7L V8 was from a whole different planet. Produced outside the realm of GM by Mercury Marine in Stillwater, Oklahoma, these power plants were in very limited numbers, and they were expensive too. With an advertised MSRP of $33,635, the base Corvette was one of America’s more expensive new cars. The ZR1 option nearly doubled that price adding $31,683 to the bill. Due to limited production, these cars were often sold at a premium with some dealers tacking on another $15,000. A large portion of the buyers of these supercars felt these were investment grade vehicles, storing them away and hoping for big returns. But there were some who felt that GM had produced these cars for financial gains of those lucky enough to get one but to create a legend on the road. Some of these ZR1s were driven and enjoyed and used for the real purpose of their existence, to tear up the road and give Corvette the respect it so rightly deserved for creating a super-machine. The Car: The Pure White ZR1 we are offering is one of those cars that has been put through its paces. Showing just under 80,000 miles, it isn’t hard to pick out a few imperfections on this coupe. While this car has been driven and does show ample wear and tear, this is a rare opportunity to own a ultra-high performance vehicle that can be driven, enjoyed, restored or a resto-mod donor. One would hate to take a well preserved original and go racing with it, but this car it ready to rock and roll. For the builder, imagine your next creation based on a genuine verified ZR1. Or for the first-time Corvette buyer, this genuine ZR1 would be a great experience on how to drive and maintain a supercar. This example is almost like having a clean-sheet to start with where the only limits are one’s imagination. W W W. M O T O S T A L G I A . C O M

Mid-Engine Luxury Coupe

Offbeat Styling, Peppy Performer, Snappy Dresser

Well Preserved and Ready for Show or Go

The Model: Think you know everything there is to know about the Zimmer Quicksilver because underneath it is just a Pontiac Fiero? Well time to think again, there are a lot of reasons why an $11,000 mid-engine coupe cost the original owner somewhere north of $50,000 when this was a brand-new car. Starting with a brand new Fiero, Zimmer and company removed the factory outer shell, then stretched the floorpan out 16” behind the front suspension and in front of the A-pillar. A new body was constructed and outfitted with fine Italian leathers, real wood accents for the dashboard, door panels and console, and the all important gauges. On the outside, the body was long, low and lean with a sloped front nose with just the right amount of chrome accents added. Also added was plenty of luggage space in the compartment ahead of the driver as well as an extended area to the rear of the car making the Quicksilver an honest touring coupe. Hand-rubbed finishes, attention to detail, an upgraded sound-system and re-routed air-conditioning made this little coupe so much more than it had started out in stock form.

The Car: Looking as fresh today as it did when it left the Zimmer Works in Pompano Beach, Florida, this beautiful car has been pampered and cared for from day one. Recorded as #83 of a limited production run of 150 units, this stunning black beauty is fitted inside with comfortable bucket seats crafted in fine black leather bolsters with diamond stitched pewter leather inserts with the Zimmer logos applied to the headrests. All of the wooden dÊcor looks fresh and needs nothing more than a light dusting to be show-car ready. All of the exterior chrome work, and there is quite a bit of it, has retained its deep reflective qualities while the factory black paint is as close to flawless as you can imagine. Of course, it has all the amenities you would expect, cruise control, power brakes, steering, windows, and locks, plus the upgrade Delco sound system for your listening enjoyment. Mechanically the Quicksilver retained all of the Fiero’s original drive train provided an estimated 24 MPG, and able to go from zero to 60 MPH well under the 10-second mark. This is a collectible that is enjoyable, fun to drive and sure to turn heads at every corner.
