En 2011 y 2012 los organizadores de BOGOSHORTS, Laboratorios Black Velvet, desarrollaron un evento, enmarcado en el SOFA - Salón del Ocio y la Fantasía, que buscaba destacar la producción cinematográfica más original en los géneros de la fantasía, la ciencia ficción y el terror: F3 - Fanático Film Fest. En 2013, momento de la evolución del Bogotá Short Film Festival / Festival de Cortos de Bogotá - BOGOSHORTS, el monstruoso evento no se pudo continuar realizando. Sin embargo, la organización lo revivió en 2015 como una sección competitiva de BOGOSHORTS: F3 - Fanático Freak Fantástico.
Siguen siendo tres F, son otras palabras, pero el espíritu es el mismo: apostar por el cine que se arriesga a llevar al límite la imaginación. La selección de F3, curada por el programador Rodrigo Duarte, cuenta este año con casi una veintena de títulos de ficción y animación provenientes de países tan diversos como Bangladesh, Chile, España, Francia Irlanda, Reino Unido, Alemania, Argentina, México, Australia, Países Bajos, Canadá y Suiza. En esta competencia tienen cita cortos de ciencia ficción, terror, humor negro y acción. Continuando con nuestro compromiso por fortalecer la industria audiovisual colombiana, y especialmente, a través de esta sección, el trabajo de realizadores interesados en el cine de género, desde 2021 los cortometrajes dirigidos por colombianos o de producción colombiana que son seleccionados en la Competencia F3, no solo participan por la Santa Lucía que se entrega en esta sección, sino también por los premios artísticos y técnicos de la Competencia Nacional. Este año, un cortometraje colombiano tendrá esa oportunidad: El monstruo, de Gerard Nogueira (2022).
In 2011 and 2012 the organizers of BOGOSHORTS, Laboratorios Black Velvet, developed an event in the framework of SOFA - Entertainment and Fantasy Convention, which sought to highlight the most original film production in the genres of fantasy, science fiction and horror: F3 - Fan Film Fest. In 2013, the moment of the evolution towards the Bogotá Short Film Festival / Festival de Cortos de Bogotá - BOGOSHORTS, the monstrous event could not continue. However, the organization revived it in 2015 as a competitive section of BOGOSHORTS: F3 - Fan Freak Fantastic. They are still three F’s, they are other words, but the spirit is the same: to bet on cinema that risks pushing the imagination to the limit. The F3 selection, curated by programmer Rodrigo Duarte, includes this year almost twenty fiction and animation titles from countries as diverse as Bangladesh, Chile, Spain, France, Ireland, United Kingdom, Germany, Argentina, Mexico, Australia, Netherlands, Canada and Switzerland. The competition features science fiction, horror, black humor and action shorts. Continuing with our commitment to strengthen the Colombian audiovisual industry, and especially, through this section, the work of filmmakers interested in genre cinema, since 2021 the short films directed by Colombians or of Colombian productions that are selected in the F3 Competition, not only participate for the Santa Lucía awarded in this section, but also for the artistic and technical awards of the National Competition. This year, only one Colombian short film will have this opportunity: El monstruo, by Gerard Nogueira (2022).

Actualmente está cursando un doctorado en Media Arts en Lisboa. Portugal-based Bangladeshi screenplay writer and filmmaker. He writes fictions for Bangladeshi television. He won Critic’s Choice Best Screenplay writer’s award in 2017. He graduated in Journalism in Bangladesh, and later in filmmaking in Europe with an European Union scholarship. He started filming at the age of twelve. During his study graphic design, he worked for Dutch television, creating a series of animated films, live action drama and documentaries, using a variety of styles and techniques. For the big screen he created award winning animated short films like Vent and Under the Apple Tree. His new short, The Smile, is a disturbingly funny animated mockumentary.

Artista y cineasta. Es superviviente de un accidente de avión y de una escuela de arte. Durante más de veinte años ha realizado anuncios de televisión, episodios, promos, documentales, animación y efectos especiales para Nickelodeon, Sony, Nike, IFC, MTV2 y otros. En su trabajo personal, el realismo mágico se entrelaza con la memoria, ya que rastrea las raíces de la narración desde los cuentos de hadas hasta las historias familiares. Demon Box combina traumas reales, elementos de animación y documentales, con lo fantástico. Actualmente, está terminando Alteraciones, su primer largometraje. Artist and filmmaker. In the late 17th century, in Querétaro, México, a Spanish maiden gives birth to a creature. The maiden claims to be possessed by African and indigenous demons. Franciscan friars attempt to exorcise the evil spirits, only to accuse a mixed-race witch of summoning them. The commissioner of the Holy Office, investigating the occurrence, draws his own conclusions, but someone has decided to eliminate the creature before he can see it.

Sus cortos se han exhibido en los festivales de cine de Tribeca, Palm Springs, Los Ángeles Latino, Interfilm de Berlín, Morelia, entre otros. Fue artista residente en el MacDowell Colony y participante seleccionado del Taller Internacional de Guionismo Cine Qua Non Lab y del LabGuion de Cinefilia en Medellín. También fue jurado del Fondo de Desarrollo Cinematográfico de Colombia. Fue becario Fulbright con 20 años de experiencia docente en México y los Estados Unidos. His short films have been screened at Tribeca, Palm Springs, Los Angeles Latino, Interfilm, Morelia, among other film festivals. He was artist in residence at the MacDowell Colony and was selected for the Cine Qua Non-Lab International Screenwriters Workshop, as well as the Cinefilia LabGuion in Medellín. He has also been a juror for the Colombian Film Development Fund. He is a former Fulbright scholar with 20 years of teaching experience in México and the United States.

Ha realizado videoclips para la MTV, trabajando con bandas como Half Foot Outside y Reina Republicana. Entre sus trabajos, también, podemos encontrar spots y corporativos. (Pamplona) Scriptwriter and director. His passion for creativity took him to study Sound and Image Engineering at the University of Navarra (UPNA). His last two works, Kiss Me Malibu and Do You Want to Go Out with Me, won more than 40 international awards. (Zúrich 1990) Cineasta. Se graduó en la Universidad de Zúrich, donde estudió Historia y Cine. Trabaja como guionista, director y montajista desde 2012 y es cofundador de la productora Dynamic Frame. Sus anteriores cortometrajes le valieron el Premio de Cine de Zúrich (2019) y el Pardino d’oro en Locarno (2020). (Zurich 1990) Filmmaker. He is a graduate of the University of Zurich, where he studied History and Film. He has been working as a writer, director and editor since 2012 and is a cofounder for the production company Dynamic Frame. His previous shorts earned him the Zurich Film Prize in 2019 and the Pardino d’oro at Locarno in 2020.

(Turnhout, 1991) Director de cine. En 2013, se graduó como Maestro en filosofía en la KU Leuven. Continuó sus estudios de cine en el Real Instituto de Teatro, Cine y Sonido. En 2016, se trasladó a Londres para obtener su maestrúa en Dirección de Cine en la MET Film School. Actualmente, vive en Bruselas, donde trabaja como director de cine, escritor y editor. Su trabajo personal se centra principalmente en la ficción y el documental. (Turnhout, 1991) Filmmaker. In 2013, he graduated as Master in Philosophy at the KU Leuven. Then, he continued his film studies at the Royal Institute of Theatre, Cinema and Sound. In 2016, he moved to London to get his master’s degree in Film Directing at the MET Film School. Currently, he lives in Brussels ), where he is working as a film director, writer and editor. His personal work focusses on fiction and documentary.
