Festivaleando

Cada año esta sección del Bogotá Short Film Festival / Festival de Cortos de Bogotá - BOGOSHORTS busca permitir al público vivir la experiencia de visitar festivales de cine de otros lugares del mundo. A través de estas selecciones especiales de cortometrajes, se pueden descubrir los intereses temáticos particulares de ciertos eventos, las características de la producción de cine del país que los acoge o las tendencias y talentos reconocidos en los cortometrajes premiados en estos festivales.

En ocasión de nuestro vigésimo aniversario, hemos invitado a otros dos festivales que también han cumplido este año dos décadas de trabajo en sus respectivas ciudades. En primer lugar, el Festival Internacional de Cine en Morelia es considerado uno de los festivales más importantes en Latinoamérica y, como BOGOSHORTS, este evento también es calificador a los Premios Óscar en las categorías de cortometraje y documental. En este programa hemos querido hacer un recorrido histórico incluyendo trabajos de realizadores tan importantes hoy para el cine mexicano como Alonso Ruizpalacios y Nicolás Pereda, y los cortos ganadores de la Palma de Oro de Cannes: El héroe, de Carlos Carrera (1994), y Ver llover, de Elisa Miller (2006). Por otra parte, desde 2003, el Festival de Cine Latinoamericano de Vancouver-VLAFF se ha encargado de promover y exhibir el cine latinoamericano en Canadá. Incluso el corto colombiano ha sido protagonista en este escenario consiguiendo el premio principal de su competencia con títulos como Las fauces, de Mauricio Maldonado (Santa Lucía al Mejor Corto de Ficción del 18o BOGOSHORTS) y Atmósferas, de Leinad Pájaro de La Hoz (Santa Lucía a Mejor Dirección de Arte del 17o BOGOSHORTS). Para Festivaleando, el director de programación del VLAFF, Christian Sida-Valenzuela, ha reunido siete trabajos con una fuerte apuesta formal y atravesados por la experiencia del in-between en que se encuentran estos realizadores de ascendencia u origen latinoamericano. Con el apoyo de: / With the support of: Each year this section of the Bogotá Short Film Festival / Festival de Cortos de Bogotá - BOGOSHORTS seeks to let the Colombian audience have the experience of visiting film festivals around the world. Through these special selections of short films, you can discover the particular thematic interests of certain events, the characteristics of the film production of the country that hosts them or the trends and talents recognized in the short films awarded at these festivals. On the occasion of our twentieth anniversary, we have invited two other festivals that have also celebrated two decades of work in their respective cities this year. On one hand, the Morelia International Film Festival is considered one of the most important festivals in Latin America and, just like BOGOSHORTS, this event is also a qualifier for the Oscars in the short film and documentary categories. In this program we wanted to make a historical tour including works by renowned Mexican filmmakers such as Alonso Ruizpalacios and Nicolás Pereda, and the Mexican short films that won the Palme d’Or at Cannes: El héroe, by Carlos Carrera (1994), and Ver llover, by Elisa Miller (2006). On the other hand, since 2003, the Vancouver Latin American Film Festival-VLAFF has been in charge of promoting Latin American cinema in Canada. Colombian short films have even been protagonists on this festival, winning the main prize in its competition with titles such as Las fauces, by Mauricio Maldonado (St. Lucia for Best Fiction Short Film at the 18th BOGOSHORTS) and Atmósferas, by Leinad Pájaro de La Hoz (St. Lucia for Best Art Direction at the 17th BOGOSHORTS). For Festivaleando, VLAFF’s programming director, Christian Sida-Valenzuela, has brought together seven works with a strong formal commitment and crossed by the in-between experience in which these filmmakers of Latin American descent or origin find themselves.
