Se olvida de llevar los plátanos a casa y se embarca en un viaje para encontrarlo. Leidi no volverá a casa hasta que encuentre al padre de su hijo. Leidi lives with her mom and her baby. Her boyfriend, Alexis, hasn’t shown up in days. That sunny morning, after she bathed her baby, Leidi was sent by her mother to buy plantains. She meets a guy that tells her he has seen Alexis with another girl. She forgets about bringing home the plantains and embarks on a journey to find him. Leidi won’t return home until she finds the father of her child.

Nos miran fijamente, para interrogar el pasado y reclamar el lugar de las personas en las imágenes del presente. Among the film collections lie fragments of the history of the native peoples. Paradoxically, their gestures, voices, and looks remain absent from these documents. Through this video essay, images of the communities of southeast Mexico burst forth. They stare at us, in order to interrogate the past and demand the place of the people in the images of the present.

We always want to know where singers and artists come from. What makes their melody and their line so particular as to make our skin crawl? Pogue is a place in the middle of the Chocoan jungle where they the rain, the memory of the dead, the work of the river and the of the dead, the labors of the river and of the house, the songs of a of a score of women who seek with their chants to maintain their religious heritage, to make resistance and balance the forces that surround the jungle environment.

Ella sonríe sin ser consciente de la cámara y aunque tampoco sabe dónde está Rusia en el mapa, la realizadora se vale de la distancia para escribirle una carta desde el otro lado del mundo. The director brought one picture of her grandmother from Colombia to Russia. She doesn’t even know where Russia is on the map, but because of being far from home the director writes her a letter from the other side of the world.

Oscar lives with his grandparents in a humble country house that has been left in the middle of a large hydroelectric project. It is the last day to vacate their house and his grandparents, faced with the pain and uncertainty of leaving the land where they were born. They’d rather end up under their soil.
