Tweens and Teens Advanced Art Class (Ages 10-16)
Activities in this monthly class will help students hone their artistic skills and practice in a variety of mediums. Experienced instructors will guide students with suggestions and teach them standardized practices. Projects will range from painting, drawing and pastels to clay, mosaics and weaving. Participants should dress to get messy. Most projects will be ready to take home at the end of class; however, some projects may need to remain at the facility to dry, seal or secure properly before pickup. This class will run 1-3P. Fire Hydrant Decorating Contest and Scholarship
Wentzville Parks & Recreation is offering a scholarship to assist deserving high school seniors who intend to pursue higher education at an accredited community college, four-year college or university. Participants from Holt High School, Timberland High School, Liberty High School and a Wentzville resident high school senior enrolled in a private school or homeschool program will compete to design and decorate a fire hydrant according to each annual theme. This year's theme celebrates Wentzville’s Sesquicentennial! A scholarship will be awarded to five high school seniors. Teen Acting (Ages 13-15)
Taught by actress/improv artist Maria Romine, this course will focus on the different disciplines of a performance: diction, projection, movement and characterization. Students will be asked to bring a comedic and dramatic monologue of their choosing with them on the first day of class. The monologue can be from a movie or a play and will be used in each class. Eagle Scout & Gold Award Project Partnerships
Wentzville Parks and Recreation wants to support our local Boy Scout and Girl Scout leaders by partnering with them to complete their Eagle Scout and Gold Award Projects. Participating Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts can work alongside the Wentzville Parks and Recreation Department to complete a project that makes a unique, positive impact on our community. To start a partnership, please call (636) 639-2087 or email Amy.Hays@wentzvillemo.gov with a detailed project proposal. If you do not have a project in mind, we can offer several suggestions. Based upon the details of your project, we will put you in contact with an individual who can support you and your project the most.

Calling all teen singers, dancers, jugglers, magicians, comedians and more! We are searching for a variety of local talent to perform at our events. Selected performers will take the stage for up to 15 minutes and share their talent, skill or ability with the community. Judges will score each performance based on a number of categories. Select winners will receive a cash prize. Winners of the contests will also have additional opportunities to perform at future City events. All participants must complete an application and could be called upon to display their skills via an interview.

Are you looking for a way to better the community you live in? This once a month, one-hour volunteer program will take place on the third Wednesday of each month. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from the destination. Projects are subject to change as volunteer needs change. W W W
This Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program from American Safety and Health Institute gives teenagers and young adults everything they need to know for safe and successful babysitting. From getting started with their business, to working with parents and children, to key safety, caregiving and basic first-aid tips.
