JUST $ If you are an entertainer, you know Tuesday is Media Day. 12-01-2009. It is not only a Tuesday, it’s WORLD AIDS DAY. Cities, brands, organizations and people are coming together from all over the world to make one statement. That today one color unites us. And that color is (red). Throughout mprintmedia’s social sites, home web site, & this 1st edition of Mprinted, you will see the join (red) campaign. Mprintmedia is about supporting. We are supporting artists in in all genres. Directors, actors, models, entrepreneurs and you? I’m not your everyday blogger. Nor do I tweet about my breakfast or my kids’ accomplishments (by the way, my kids have a video on Mprintmedia’s Youtube page). If you ever wanted to do something that took the will to do what the next man or woman wouldn’t, Mprintmedia.com supports you. This month we pulled in artists such as Lil Chevy, who I interviewed over the net via Skype, which is incredible software for free voip calls. (download at www.skype.com, add Mprintmedia to your contacts). He discusses the road traveled from the heart of Atlanta to Virginia. Tre-dot, who is by far using his will to expand his “Carolina Feel-Good” movement. Straight out of ‘bama is dem Deacon Boyz and Infamous bringing hip hop to its knees wit beats and lyrics that praise the lord. Louscious Jones is “the man” for the job. When the Diop Productions cameras roll you need to have popcorn in hand. The drama, suspense, comedy and reality is all rolled into this one indie film production company. Models: April Bell, Precious, Nikkole and “L” (owner of cap models), shows that great looks embodies determination, not to just fit in, but stand out. Sajida is a name that should be on every A&R’s lips. As I sit back and watch “Over the Rhine,” on Mprintmedia tv. I can’t help but applaud our directors: Lee Zellars with Rozmary Basement Media, and Carona Davis-Diop, who brings us her short suspense thriller “Infatuation.” These talented companies, along with the melodic sound of gospel singer Ahlayashabi represents that “standing out” is the goal of worldly achievers/entertainers. Please stay tuned to bware and north lane productions as they stand out and make their mprint on the world. Please remember to join (red) not only today but everyday and everywhere. Now I, “phenix”, invite you to enjoy the initial edition of “Mprinted.”

Skype is a wonderful service (not to mention they pay me), but I have Lil Chevy on the line and its the Jetson’s era ‘09. As he puts one in the air, I put the ichat on full screen. This Georgia born-and-raised mic vet talks of his “85 to 64” mixtape.

Lil Chevy goes on to explain that it’s a tough market on that road in Virginia, but this ain’t no country boy that’s going to take a back seat. Lil Chevy states that, “I might go into the studio, not planning on spittin’…before i get home, i’m on 3 or 4 tracks.”

Lil Chevy has been on the scene, even before 85 to 64. He stretches out over the information highway. His lyrical content has grown since I heard his first set of songs. Adrian, “A-Town”, Dawson has made this net phenom a producers choice. Give him 16 bars and you have givin away your song.

Chevy, who heads up Rocstar Entertainment’s roster, does more than stand behind the mic. He is big on the promoting of Rocstars’ daily blogtalk radio show. More than a artist he is a father who uses his career as a platform to porpel him into other ventures. He says, “I’m doing this thing I do so well, for my children.” Hustling is not a cliche for him its a way of survival. Lil Chevy embodies the spirit of hip hop’s top 100 indie entrepreneur.

His mixtapes have been hosted and mixed by djs who want to get the southern lyricism that is rarely appreciated. Emailing and hand to hand promotions has been his other forms of connecting with the world. Lil chevy has adopted the “mainstream off…underground on” approach to his success.

“For Tha Love of Hip Hop” addresses social issues and social prejudices that our community faces. It also addresses some of my real life experiences and trials and tribulations that I have gone through. Last but not least, it addresses how I love to have fun and party and where I grew up. FLY-TY, real name Tyrone Wade, has had a passion for music since the age of ten. Beginning his career in 2001, freestyle battles and rapping over industry beats was the highlight of his day. Early in his career he saw that while freestyles and rapping over industry beats will get him the respect of his peers and competition, they were not enough to get him signed to a major record deal. So with that in mind he has lived by the motto of rapping only on original beats. In 2003 he signed his first record contract with an independent label named Soliloquy Records. After the contract was over he decided to go totally independent. Simultaneously, he was pursuing a college degree in Health Education. In 2006 he moved from Oklahoma back to his home state of Virginia to gain more excess to East coast listeners. In 2007 he released an Extended play album titled,”The Booth.” In April of 2008 he dropped is first full length album titled “For The Love Of Hip Hop.” In late 2008 he formed a partnership with an independent label titled Money Block Entertainment. FLY-TY in collaboration with Money Block Entertainment will release the highly anticipated album, “Dedicated To Hip Hop”.

SPEL Infamous was born & raised in Gadsden, AL. He had his 1st major release back in 1999, “Bama Bounce” under the moniker “Terry D”. Since then he has worked and performed with artists such as Trick Daddy, Jadakiss, Styles P, DMX, Pretty Ricky, Rick Ross, Pit Bull plus many others. Now in 2008, Infamous has now hooked up with his biggest fan of all...God. In 2006, Infamous gave his life over to Christ and is now dedicating his life and his music to the “Fired Up” movement. This movement is to get people of all ages on fire for the Word of God again and to change this nation with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Infamous’ album is titled “Freedom Music” because it is his testimony of how Jesus set him free from the problems in his life and that He can do the same for all. This new album blends grimy, Dirty South beats, with conscious, street-smart lyrics. His new project “Street Disciple” will feature songs from the “Civil Write: Freedom Music” album along with nine more songs. It will be released under Inf’s new label Street Royalty Entertainment, LLC, and the Atlanta-based company Straight from the Soul Entertainment. Like his movement, Infamous’ first single is “Fired Up” a trumpet-driven track telling of all the wondrous works of the Almighty God. It calls for everyone to get “FIRED Up” and never forget “Who woke you up”.

In the era of Obama, we are learning change is good. We especially need to pay more attention to our change (pocket change that is). Todays numbers are 4...0... 1…o k. Now I am not an expert on the banking industry, but i do know that the future happens everyday and we need to prepare. I got with some “experts,” and they gave 100’s of $ saving tips. Now i know you might say “not gonna read,” but if you have responsibilities then pay attention. Now if you an artist or just want to have your “own,” take these tips seriously.

coupons and discounts. Create a gmail address just for these mailings, collect every card you can, and then check that account for extra coupons whenever you’re ready to shop.

The defenition of 401k defined by wikipedia is a plan allows a worker to save for retirement and have the savings invested while deferring current income taxes on the saved money and earnings until withdrawal. In other words “stacking your $ and letting it grow without paying taxes on your saved $ till later. So here you go ladies and gentlemen.

Cut back on the convenience foods – fast foods, microwave meals, and so on. Instead of eating fast food or just some prepackaged, try making something healthy that you can take with you. An hour’s worth of preparation one weekend can give you a ton of cheap and handy meals that will end up saving you a lot of cash and not eat into your creative time.

Sign up for every free customer rewards program you can. Even if you rarely shop at that place, having a rewards card for that place will eventually net you some continued on p. 32

Drink more water. Not only does drinking plenty of water have great health benefits, water drinking has financial benefits, too. Drink a big glass of water before each meal, and not only will you digest it better, you won’t eat as much, saving on the ol’ food bill. You’ll also find yourself feeling better as you begin to get adequately hydrated.

This may be hard for some… ok many. Give up expensive habits, like cigarettes, alcohol, and drugs. Those habits cause money to flow away from you with nothing in return. Think $’s in your pocket instead of

burning it up and floating away. Keep your hands clean. This one’s simple – just wash your hands thoroughly each time you use the bathroom or handle raw foods. You’ll keep yourself from acquiring all kinds of viruses and bacteria, saving you on medical bills and medicine costs and lost productivity. That’s not to say you shouldn’t explore the world and get your hands dirty sometimes – that’s good for you, too – but basic sanitation does help keep the medical bills away. I like this one: Do holiday shopping right after the holidays. Most people use this technique for christmas, but it works for every holiday. Wait until about two days after a holiday, then go out shopping for items you need that are themed for that day. Get a mother’s day card for next year the day after mother’s day. Get easter egg decorating kits the day after easter. Get wrapping paper and cards and such the day after christmas. The discounts are tremendous, and you can just put this stuff in the closet until next year, saving you a bundle. I have done all of this one: Hit the library – hard. Don’t look at a library as just a place

a free place to do all sorts of things. Use it to surf the internet anonymously, check out movies and cds, grab local free newspapers, and keep up on community events. Best of all, it doesn’t cost a dime. Find daily inspiration for making intelligent moves. I’m usually inspired by my children. Perhaps you’re inspired to make changes by your spouse – or even by someone in the community you respect. Maybe it’s just a personal goal, like an early retirement. Find something that makes you want to make positive changes, then use that person or thing as a constant reminder. Keep a picture of it in your wallet, in your vehicle, and on your bathroom mirror. Keep it in your mind as much as you possibly can.

Make your own beer or wine. If you enjoy an occasional drink, this is a great way to enjoy some of the beverages that you love at a very cheap price. You can easily make five gallons of beer or wine at once and it doesn’t take that long, either, once you have the basic ingredients. Even better, it’s a great activity to do with friends – you buy the equipment, they bring the juice and you both get a few bottles of delicious homemade wine out of the deal. A nice entertainment, plus some free beverages. Connect your entertainment center and/or computer setup to a true smart power strip. A

Always ask for fees to be waived. Any time you sign up for a service of any kind and there are sign-up fees, ask for them to be waived. Sometimes (but not always), they will be – and you save money just by being forthright about not wanting to pay excessive fees. I did this with my last cell phone sign-up and got part of my fees waived, cutting down significantly on the bill. Although this idea is great… be very, very, careful:

device like the smartstrip lcg4 basically cuts power to all devices on the strip depending on the status of the first item on the strip. So, if you have your workstation hooked up to this, every time you power down your workstation, your monitor powers down, your printer powers down, your scanner powers down, and so on. You can do the same thing with your entertainment console – when you turn off the television, the cable/satellite box also goes off, as does the video game console, the vcr, the dvd player, and so on. This can save you a lot of electricity and significantly trim your power bill.

Always keep looking ahead. Don’t let the mistakes of your past drag you down into more mistakes. Look ahead to the future. The choices you make now won’t affect the past – but they definitely will affect the future. Think back, and remember how the bad choices you made earlier are costing you now, and constantly remember to not make those mistakes now so that they don’t cost your future self.

Never give up. Whenever the struggle against debt feels like it’s too much, go read a personal finance blog and remember that there are a lot of people out there fighting the same fight. Read around through the archives and learn some new things – and perhaps get inspired to keep going, no matter what.
