Technologies: what is going to surprise us soon Technologies about which we hear for the first time today, will become common in the years to come – says the article at businessinsider.com, referring to the report of the Global Agenda Council on the Future of Software & Society, a group of advisors working at the World Economic Forum. The group surveyed the representatives of the technological sector, who indicated the areas of our everyday life that easily adopt the latest technology inventions. We will quote just some of their findings – you will find all of them on the website of Business Insider Polska. By 2024 the first transplant of a liver using a 3D-printed organ will have been performed. 3D printers will also aid the medical industry. Works on a 3D-printed bone or human organs have already been started. Doctors have already used 3D printing to create a patient’s
rib cage and bone implants. And the bio-printing, which is a combination of bioengineering with 3D printing, may in the future enable researchers to grow artificial organs. By 2022 the first 3D-printed car will be in production. 3D printers are capable of printing objects from all kinds of materials. Many car companies are already using 3D prints to create prototypes or some of the car parts. A while ago Audi presented a miniature car which was produced using a 3D metal printer. By 2022 10 % of the world’s population will be wearing clothes connected to the internet… and by 2023 10 % of the reading glasses will be connected to the internet. These are only some of the apparently surprising forecasts. To learn more, visit the Business Insider’s website and come ITM Polska fair.
Next edition of the event “Summer at MTP” starts already on 23 June! Just like in the previous years, citizens of Poznań and its vicinity will find a cozy summer retreat in the heart of the city. The premises and garden of MTP will again turn into a sandy beach and courts for team games. For the youngest will be prepared a special game and didactic activities programme, however the adults will certainly get interested in the repertoire of the open air cinema. ill Gates, founder of Microsoft and one of the richest people around the world, believes innovation is the real drive of development. It was innovation that
drove the inventors to the ideas awarded with the Gold Medal MTP – Consumers’ Choice. The interesting fact is that nearly all the products which received the award come from Polish companies. We are no longer a country which only copies ready solutions or manufactures them for global companies. Polish companies are more often winning other markets thanks to their patents. Consumers are becoming aware of this and are showing their recognition more and more frequently which proves invaluable for the Gold Medalists themselves. The awarded products feature advanced technologies such as the Watta energy monitor. It is unique for being wireless and its software, VENO, supports security for facilities, integrates fire-protection systems, CCTV cameras, burglary monitoring and access control systems. Another example comes from the decoder EVOBOX by Cyfrowy Polsat, which might replace existing boxes found within the house. “It is not only a decoder dedicated for satellite channels. It offers the possibility to display holiday pictures and use online radio stations and services. It is a product geared towards all age groups, for people searching for new technologies and those who are a bit less into the latest gadgets, yet still value comfort,” says Adam Klementowicz, the architect behind the Cyfrowy Polsat decoder. This distinction is given to pioneer projects and those which are patent-protected. Interactive fairs New technologies at your stand It took a while for new technologies to creep into stands‌ Some time ago films displayed on LED screens were the most popular. Then, the first touch screens and touch-operated apps appeared. A real boom came a few years ago when multi-touch screens, tablets and smartphones became more common. It will take a while before they get replaced with VR and AR technologies. Author Marzanna Wiśniewska, IDEAEXPO.MTP

An impressively large size Although LED screens have become more common, films and multimedia presentations are still a great means of providing information on the company and the product. The only thing that has changed is the means used for displaying them. Instead of using 40-50” screens, 80-106” screens are getting more and more common. The largest stands are equipped with seamless screen sets, video walls or large-size diode screens. The films displayed on them, recorded with modern cameras and DSLR Full-HD cameras attract visitors from a distance. The screen, additionally, is not only a carrier of information, but also an essential part forming a fully coherent whole with the stand, and sometimes is even its key element. It is widely believed that seamless screens are the best solution, yet it is worth taking notice of the advantages of diode screens. They can be bent into curves, waves or circles, which increases the

amount of possible arrangements. Moreover, diode screen technology has become so developed that diode screens of the highest quality (i.e. P2, in which the space between diodes is only 2.5mm) can display a full-HD and even 4K picture. Undoubtedly, another advantage of such screens is the fact that they can be used outdoors. The only thing they need is a light quadro-system structure. The screens offer a high contrast which makes it possible to use them in full sunlight – no glare effect and no lines separating the picture, which cannot be avoided with seamless screens. Diode screens are better for stands in instances when they are suspended up high; this way they offer more comfort to watch the picture. However, if we care about image clarity from a short range, it is better to use seamless screens. The possibility to use diode screens outdoors is definitely their advantage

A small size also does the trick The time when a product description would be placed on a pulpit or in a display is slowly coming to its end. For some time now, tablets have been an attractive means of information at the fair as their greatest advantage is their capacity to store an unlimited amount of information. Such modern information boards have become popular with, for instance, automotive companies. It is worth bearing in mind that today every visitor owns their own smartphone or tablet. Therefore, there is no problem to create apps especially for the fair which could be downloaded from Google Play or the App Store. The only thing we are then limited to here is our imagination and Internet access (preferably free) within the exhibition halls; however, this is not a problem any longer as Internet access is

now available. Good examples here will be apps for interior arrangement using the products demonstrated during the fair. A little cheaper for us, a bit less involving for the visitors and less demanding for the storage memory of the mobile apps will be the popular QR codes, which will swiftly redirect the client Photo courtesy of 180heartbeats + Jung v. to a specific website or a full company offer. While making use of them, though, one must remember that if QR codes are to be linked to specific information online, they must be easy to scan with a smartphone. For this reason, they cannot be placed either too high or too low. They cannot be too small or too big (unless we want them to be decorative, not practical).
Apps for touch screens Touch devices such as screens, kiosks, tables, interactive floors and info-kiosks are more and more frequently used at stands.

The center of many opportunities We asked Sabrina Żymierska, the manager of Poznań Congress Center about the recipe for a successful event The interviewer Maria Marcinkowska
Poznań Congress Center more and more often assumes the role of a comprehensive organizer of conferences, trainings, business meetings or banquets. What services are included in PCC portfolio? Apart from performing the role of the administrator of the largest congress center in Poland, Poznań Congress Center is also a Professional Congress and Conference Organizer, which in practice means that we offer comprehensive servicing of events, from the moment of receiving an order for holding an event, until the event is finished. The scope of tasks mandated to PCC obviously depends on the customer, but we recommend to mandate the organization of an event to one
Our offer includes: servicing of registration, including accepting payments from participants, issuing invoices and correspondence with participants. We are also responsible for layout of the event, thus for the website of an event and its updating, preparation of badges, advertising gadgets, leaflets or other advertising materials, depending on the needs. Moreover, we also organize catering, accommodation, transport of participants, galas and accompanying events involving artists, as well as ensuring trips in Poznan and its vicinity. 44_ pmt

company, which significantly facilitates its coordination.
Are these services performed only at premises of Poznań International Fair? We certainly also have been organizing events outside MTP. Among our largest projects should be listed e.g. the many years of organization of the Nationwide KRIO Congress in hotel Gołębiewski in Wisła, or servicing of the International Congress of Operational System Tests (Euro2016) at premises of Poznań University of Technology last year. In the past we also successfully organized events in Warsaw or Cracow.

As we are talking about location, what should we take into account when choosing a place where our event will be held? First of all, you should check the accessibility of the venue in terms of transport. This is extremely important particularly when you are organizing international events – participants should be able to get to event place in shortest possible time and with a minimum

One should not forget that in September 2017, for the first time in Poznań will be held the Congress of Women. The Congress of Women in Poznań
Kayah Bregović in the Music Hall
For the first time ever the Congress of Women will be organized outside Warsaw. Its organizers decided that the 9th edition will be held in Poznań at premises of Poznań International Fair. On 9 and 10 September, women from all over Poland will have an opportunity to hold discussions about politics, ecology, culture, motherhood, their rights and many other issues which are important for them. Two plenary sessions dedicated among others to global and national politics and 15 thematic centres will be held in the Earth Hall.
Kayah and Goran Bregović, after 17 years, again have reunited and are going on a concert tour. The artists will give 7 concerts in Poland. On 18 September they will give a concert in Poznań at premises of Poznań International Fair in the Music Hall MP2. They will also present their cult repertoire from the CD “Kayah & Bregović” in Warsaw, Cracow, Wrocław, Gdynia, Łódź and Szczecin. At the concert one will hear such hits as “Prawy do lewego”,”Śpij kochanie, śpij”,
„Byłam różą”, „To nie ptak”, or “Sto lat młodej parze”, however the artists also promise music surprises. Album ”Kayah & Bregović” is a cult CD in the history of Polish music. The CD was released on 1999 and sold more than 1 million copies and received the status of a Diamond CD and many music awards, among others 3 Fryderyks and 4 Superjedynkas. Despite the years, the songs from the album are still current and win the hearts of the next generations.
At premises of Poznań International Fair, doctors from all over Poland yet another time were able to learn about the latest trends in medicine and new solutions in diagnostics and therapy. Congress Top Medical Trends took place on 17 to 19 March. Previous edition of this unique meeting on a national level was participated by as many as 4 thousand doctors. The aim of the Congress is to transfer the latest medical knowledge and therefore it focuses on discussions. – During the majority of congresses there is no time for a discussion. At the TMT we cultivate the habit that after a finished session, lecturers move to different rooms with all interested guests. And there is no time limit. The discussion lasts until all questions have been asked and answers provided – says Prof Jacek Wysocki in an interview for www.termedia.pl. The Congress is organized by Termedia Publishing House, publisher of periodicals Lekarz POZ and Top Medical Trends – Guide for GPs.

Producers and authors of the project “Symphonic Queen” invite everyone to a special concert in Poznań – “Star Wars in concert” performed by the Hollywood Symphony Orchestra and Alla Vienna orchestra, under the conduction of Jan Niedźwiecki. This multimedia show will be enriched by spectacular visualizations and outstanding play of lights. The audience will be able to admire the models from Star Wars, and the appropriate atmosphere will be ensured by costume groups, among others by the Polish Garrison, Eagle Base or Empire of Power. The concert will be held in the Earth Hall on 25 November 2017. The concert will start with the most famous “Star Wars Main Title”. There will also be other well-known motifs such as “Imperial march”. The entire show will be composed of 16 most famous music themes written by John Williams, which will be played in a chronological order, from the first episode “The Phantom of Menace” to the seventh episode “The force awakens”. The music will be accompanied by visualizations on
The legend of rock in the Earth Hall audience all hits from this cult film. The live music constituted a great background for spectacular choreography. The event turned out to be such huge a success that the artists will be back on the stage in the Earth Hall already on 21 June!
Lady Pank – the legendary rock band led by Janusz Panasewicz, gave a concert in the Earth Hall under the tour “Lady Pank – 35 years – acoustically”. Apart from its greatest hits in the unplugged version, the band also presented many surprises, such as e.g. special set list, lighting and gadgets dedicated exclusively to this tour. Lady Pank for over three decades has been delighting its fans and for their concerts come three generations of Poles. The acoustic tour certainly constitutes an interesting proposal for everyone who wanted to hear Jan Borysewicz, Janusz Panasewicz, Kuba Jabłoński and Krzysztof Kieliszkiewicz in unique arrangements and in untypical concert venues. Contrary to typical concerts, this time the musicians from Lady Pank performed sitting, putting aside the usual rock expression.
