Dear Sir or Madam, I would like to invite you to read this issue of the Poznan Fair Magazine – calendar for 2018. See for yourself that today’s activity of the Poznan International Fair has far more dimensions than just construction of the booths and arranging meetings between exhibitors and visitors. Thanks to our multi-dimensional activities we can be your partner in many projects. Therefore, I would like to encourage you to check what we can do for you. The Poznan Fair of today is not only a dynamically developing international enterprise, which is among the leaders in terms of organizing trade shows in Europe, but it is also the heart of the city. Therefore, our portfolio which includes more than a hundred fairs, exhibitions, conferences, congresses, as well as cultural and sports events will soon have more events addressed to the general public, where one exhibition hall will house a co-working space, start-up accelerator and space for presenting urban ideas. Due to the upcoming centenary of the Poznan Fair, we are planning to create an interactive museum about the Polish economy and the history of the Fair. Being closer to people and creating atmosphere for inspirational direct business meetings is a natural way to develop that goes along the global trend “Human 2 Human”. Przemysław Trawa President of the Board of the Poznan International Fairh

Dear Sir or Madam, These days the Poznan International Fair is a venue for international meetings that is developing in many directions. Trade shows organized at home in Poznan as well as in other towns are just one aspect of our activities. The Poznan Fair is also involved in gastronomy, publishing, and management of such facilities as the concert hall, a.k.a. Earth Hall, and the exhibition and conference facilities in Lublin. In 2018 the portfolio of our facilities will be expanded with the Poznan Arena, a sports and entertainment facility, which will become a venue for sports events, concerts, conferences, festivals and fairs for whole families after necessary modernization planned for 2019-2020. The forthcoming years are going to be an intensive investment time for the Poznan Fair. Thanks to modernizations and the construction of a multi-storey car park, the Poznan Fair infrastructure will become very competitive worldwide within the next few years. The schedule of events will be enriched with the best fair events, which are already amongst the best European trade shows, as well as new ones which Poland has been lacking so far. Tomasz Kobierski Vice-President of the Board of the Poznan International Fair

CONTESTS AND AWARDS A number of trade fair contests and awards help improve the recognizability of the products showcased at the fairs. These awards help guarantee prestige for the company, emphasize the utmost quality of the product and are, thus, one of the main marketing means. The most recognized contest offered by the Poznan International Fair, the Gold Medal MTP, is solely for the best products showcased during the fair. The Acanthus Aureus contest is addressed to the best designed stands which help carry out their respective company’s marketing strategy. Additionally, individual contests are also organized within particular events. These include: the TOP DESIGN award promoting high-end industrial design, the Tastes of Regions Medal recognizing regional products, the Grand Prix Gardenia which goes to the best plant products, the Grand Prix Sawo for the best technical products and solutions in the field of occupational health and safety, fire protection and rescue services, the Motor Show Awards given by the most outstanding motoring journalists as well as the PGA Awards where small and medium-size developer studios showcase their games within the Indie Games zone during the Poznań Game Arena.

MAGAZINES We are experienced in the publishing field. For more than 55 years without stop we have been publishing the Poznań Fair Magazine (PMT) which is read around the world by business representatives, economic self-government representatives and diplomatic corps. Our magazines will help you reach new clients. The Polish market has not seen such magazines before. Our portfolio includes “Rybomania Trade”, a magazine geared towards angling stores, a trend book “Omega” for the funeral sector as well as “Horse Business Club”, a magazine providing advice on how to start, run, maintain and manage studs and agritourism venues offering horse riding lessons.

GIN DOBRY CLUB We organize meetings in a casual atmosphere. The Poznan Fair has always been a venue for international meetings, exchanging products and services, business experiences and the mingling of cultures. The international and multicultural GIN DOBRY CLUB which dates back to the 1960s is the best example of that. It all started thanks to William Kirton and James Lindsay, exhibitors and company representatives who shared neighboring stands at the fair back in the day. It was here that Poles discovered a new tradition of having a glass of gin at noon in commemoration of the time when international business talks kicked off, a tradition that still continues through today. The Gin Dobry Club boasts nearly 1,000 members from around the world, including ambassadors, politicians, rectors of higher education institutions, presidents of professional associations, science and culture representatives, as well as Polish and international business leaders.

held every other year

Konrad Fleśman

Bartosz Zeidler

INSTALACJE and KOMINKI Project Manager

Product Group Director

INSTALACJE keeps changing every single year. It was already during INSTALACJE ON TOUR that we had introduced a new dropoff formula – we replaced the manual installation stands with a virtual game. The task is to install a wide range of products in a virtual house fitted with sanitary and heating installations with a pad. This is our response to the growing popularity of virtual reality. Above all, we invite the following to participate in the fair: installers, installation designers, architects, investors and trade representatives. Each group will find something for themselves here. The visitors will be provided with lots of complementary events including demonstrations and conferences on the sector’s key issues. The 6th Polish Championship Installers, the installation competition for the best professionals, shall provide lots of positive sensations.

In 2018 the Poznan International Fair will house a wide range of the most important construction fairs in Poland and in this part of Europe. At the end of January starts the construction and architecture fair BUDMA featuring a presentation of machines, equipment, specialpurpose vehicles, technologies for construction within INTERMASZ and INFRATEC as well as the spectacular International Fireplaces Exhibition KOMINKI. February is when companies from the sports and recreation sectors will present their offers at SPORT INVEST. April, on the other hand, will see two important events: INSTALACJE and SECUREX, the fair devoted to our safety. In November, we will invite you for the glass industry fair GLASS and the stone industry fair STONE. All the aforementioned events will include a presentation of brand new and inspiring solutions, technologies and trends within the construction industry. They will help you to gain professional knowledge and information regarding legal regulations thanks to the fair’s agenda featuring lectures, presentations and comprehensive debates. Hundreds of brand new premier products will be presented at the fair. We will also find out the laureates of the prestigious MTP Gold Medal award. Let’s not forget about the most important aspect of the fair, namely maintaining relationships with our clients and searching for new business partners from Poland and abroad. It is worthwhile paying attention to the HOSTED BUYERS program carried out as part of BUDMA, which aims at providing exhibitors with support in terms of exporting products to the most promising foreign markets. Thanks to the program, Poznan has so far hosted 1,500 buyers from the leading trade groups and networks from 54 countries around the world.

Dariusz Muślewski BUDMA, INTERMASZ, SPORT INVEST Project Manager According to the forecast for the third quarter of 2018, construction companies should experience economic recovery. In the nearest future, the sector will need to face many challenges. I am sure that participating in Poland’s largest construction fair will help them to stay vigilant and up-to-date with the latest products on the market. According to Deloitte, macroeconomic factors are favorable for the expansion of the construction sector. As forecast by Economist Intelligence Unit, the 3.2% GDP growth for Poland for the years 2015-2018 should make the public sector more open to invest in infrastructure. The new part of European funds should be the main factor benefiting the condition of the infrastructure construction sector in the coming years. Thanks to the new financial prospect for 2014-2020 under the cohesion policy, Poland will receive record-breaking EUR 82.5 billion, EUR 25.8 billion of which will go for infrastructure expansion. It should be noted that in the years to come construction companies operating in Poland are planning to expand their operations abroad to secure their businesses after the year 2020. They usually choose Baltic markets such as Belarus, Ukraine, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Germany and Scandinavian countries.

quality design and which is a confirmation of a product’s superb design quality. VIVA light 2018 – this is the fourth edition of the project held under arena DESIGN. It is to activate creative individuals who care about the development of lighting design. The idea to create a forum for interaction and cooperation for open-minded people from various fields who can think out of the box, including lighting designers and architects, engineers, technicians, producers, suppliers of innovative materials and lighting technology, originated from the assumption that people from different areas have a lot of creative potential.

Małgorzata Czubak arenaDESIGN Manager arenaDESIGN 2018 will be held under the slogan: GENERATIONS. Is it true that age determines the generation we belong to? Can we really define when one generation ends and another starts (Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials, Generation Z)? Particular generations seem to stick to totally different values, stand against different perspectives, have different outlook and views for the so-called reality. It is easily noticeable when you meet people whose age differs by a few years. How to create products for different generations? How to find out what they need and how to build relations across different target groups? To celebrate the 10th anniversary of arena DESIGN, we decided to launch a discussion about cooperation between the Old and the Young: how to take advantage of experience and legacy of the old and make use of the vision and creativity of the young?

In this special zone, it will be possible to make contacts with interior architects and designers of furniture and utility forms, who will present their professional portfolio. The new LOVE Original Association is a partner of the MOOD CONCEPT event. Its objective is to promote good design and popularize fashion for buying original products. the exposition will be open to retail customers interested in buying furniture and

Elżbieta Roeske Product Group Director The B2B2C business model has been growing in importance in the interior design industry for a long time. Manufacturers use communication to both business customers and end-users simultaneously. It is more and more common for an architect and interior designer to act as a sales advisor who recommends that customers purchase specific products. According to a study conducted by TNS Polska on behalf of Agata SA, 29 % of those who are arranging new flats use the services of designers. Experts agree that this percentage will increase in the future. For commercial and office spaces, the vast majority of interior design orders are already recommended by architects. Manufacturers are more and more frequently engaging in direct cooperation with designers, as they can actively influence customers’ purchasing

furnishings, who will have an opportunity to find interesting interior inspirations.

decisions, persuade them to buy additional products and effectively lead them to the final purchase, i. e. orders. Each year, during the spring block of Meble Poland, Home Décor and arenaDESIGN, we can see that the knowledge about the benefits of cooperation between entrepreneurs, designers and stylists is growing. We try to broaden their knowledge by discussing problems and opportunities that arise in the field of industrial design through trainings, workshops and meetings with outstanding designers. How to create an attractive marketable product? What model of cooperation to apply for entrepreneurdesign-client cooperation? How to sell a designer product? We try to find answers to these and many other questions and inspire the participants to look for good and interesting designs. Given the high sales potential of the Mazowieckie region, both in terms of commercial space and end users, we decided to organize a new event in Warsaw, which will primarily be addressed to interior designers.

Maria SzczepaniakKowalska TOUR SALON Project Manager TOUR SALON is evolving as the Poles are changing their travel purchase habits and preferences for destinations. TOUR SALON is a superb event and the way tourist attractions are shown encourages visitors to get involved in interactions. Meetings with travelers inspire people to discover Poland anew and explore distant parts of the world. On one hand, TOUR SALON offers readymade package tours. On the other hand, people who prefer independent trips will also find something for themselves. It should be emphasized that TOUR SALON is also where business meets passion. That feature of the trade fair, a place where people professionally connected with the tourist industry get together, is the fundamental element of the event and as a result TOUR SALON is participated in by representatives of all chambers and associations. The program of events concentrates on matters which address the needs of the fair participants, from professionals to travel enthusiasts.

Probably the most influential magazine in the equestrian sector! The appearance of a new title on the equestrian publishing market experienced a lot of interest. And yet, it took the magazine the whole year of presence in the industry to trigger excitement to each new issue. What does Ilona Rosiak-Łukaszewicz, editor-in-chief of the Horse&Business Magazine, think of all that?

Interviewer: Katarzyna Supa

Despite many years of tradition in the Polish culture, horse riding is still considered a niche sport. A professional magazine is an example of the increasing level of professionalism. Where did the idea come from? The more precisely the target group is selected, the greater the chances of satisfying readers as regards the magazine’s subjectmatter. However, the need to be in more frequent contact with the community around the Cavaliada Tour was what determined the decision to create the Horse&Business Magazine – the only magazine in Poland that combines passion for horses with business. Obviously, we are fully aware that we are addressing a niche area, but, in fact, this is what makes us unique.

So, who is the magazine address to? Our readers are mostly people dealing with horse riding professionally. The biggest target group includes owners of horse riding shops and centers. Apart from that, we also target riders, vets, producers and service providers. Our databases are getting bigger and bigger with every issue of the magazine as the magazine arouses plenty of excitement within the industry.

When running a magazine for the passion-driven sector, it is worth having not only knowledge, but also experience. Do you ride a horse? No, I have never ridden a horse. What is more, I am not even going to. I realize my passion for the industry through fulfilling myself as the editor-in-chief of probably the most opinionmaking magazine in the sector. Love for horses could be a bit detrimental to the business character of the magazine, which at times strays away from passion and focuses on economics. Of course, I know that the whole world is based on emotions, yet through my attitude I can bring into the industry something that the people involved find extremely difficult – distance.

Distance – you often cover long distances when paying visits to the sector representatives. Most of the material is a result of your interviews with individuals, owners of shops and horse riding centers. Are you going to continue that next year? Definitely! This is, at present, the only strategy which allows us to get noticed quickly within the sector. This way I have an opportunity to establish relations, which are the key in every business. Had it not been for the meetings, the materials would definitely have been of a worse quality, somehow lifeless. I cannot imagine any other form of operation. The Horse&Business Magazine is people; let’s keep it that way!

Cavaliada

CAVALIADA represents an international horse riding competition consisting of an indoor equestrian cycle, a. k. a. CAVALIADA Tour. CAVALIDA aims at popularizing horse riding seen as a sport discipline and a form of pastime, increasing interest in horse breeding as well as education. The CAVALIADA Tour is the only indoor equestrian competition in Poland to have been given credit of the International Federation of Equestrian Sports (FEI). Being the largest equestrian show in this part of the world lasting a few days, the event brings horses and horse riding to the spotlight, while the World Cup Qualifiers and the Central European World Cup League Final always arouse sports plenty of positive emotions among the competitors. The CAVALIADA Tour takes place in three Polish cities. CAVALIADA Poznan CSI4*-W

cavaliada

Cavaliada

cavaliadatour

is held in the Capital of Greater Poland and marks the opening of the CAVALIADA Tour series. The second leg is CAVALIADA Lublin. The final clash takes place under CAVALIADA Warsaw. There are three dimensions to CAVALIADA: sport (where world class competitors fight to prove they are the best in exciting equestrian challenges), shows (spectacular demonstrations connected with education for the youngest ones) and trade fair (this encompasses everything related to horse riding and active forms of pastime including horse riding garment, equipment for stables, equipment and horse care agents, vitamins, fodder, souvenirs, magazines and services). Last year the all the events were visited by more than 60,000 people altogether. The number increased significantly thanks to all viewers following CAVALIADA via NC+ channels.

held every year

Dominik Nowacki CAVALIADA Project Manager The CAVALIADA Tour represents the best aspect of horse riding. Visitors can watch great sport and witness the unique kind of understanding between man and horse, their mutual devotion and cooperation leading to a position on the box. The CAVALIADA Tour is not only one of the most important sport events in Poland, but it also has an educational value. During CAVALIADA the youngest participants are lectured about the history of Poland and the role of horse riding throughout our history. What is more, CAVALIADA promotes proecological attitudes, horse riding and active lifestyle. The CAVALIADA Tour is also a superb marketing tool for our partners, as the events are a great means of building a positive image. The most amazing thing about CAVALIADA Tour, however, is the community which was created around the event. #wearecavaliada is not only a slogan worn on tees, sweatshirts or caps by horse riding lovers visiting CAVALIADA. #wearecavaliada is a real symbol and the foundation of the CAVALIADA community. It is amazing to feel the sense of unity experienced by so many youths involved in the Voluntary Program as well as by CAVALIADA’s partners, competitors and thousands of supporters who either take their seats on grandstands or in front of their TVs.
