New Vice-President of the MTP Board The Supervisory Board of the Poznań International Fair adopted a resolution to appoint Elżbieta Roeske as Vice-President of the Management Board until the end of the current term of office in 2019. The new Vice President will take office on 1st May 2018. Among other things, she will be responsible for supervising the work of the exhibition and congress center. Elżbieta Roeske is a graduate of the Poznań University of Economics. She graduated in management and marketing and has been
with the Poznań International Fair since 1995. She was responsible for managing and organizing trade fairs from the level of the clerk, through the position of the head of the trade fair project team, to being a project manager. Since 2007, she has been employed as the MTP Product Group Director, managing nearly 20 projects, including trade fairs for the furniture, medical and fashion industries. She is also the director of the Poznań Congress Center, i.e. a unit of MTP specialized in the organization of congresses and events.
Integration of the aerospace and automotive sectors under MTP and Aviation Valley While the aviation and automotive sectors are developing very dynamically, Polish companies are showing huge potential, which can be used on a large scale. Therefore, from 6 th to 7 th March 2019, the G2 Arena in Rzeszów will house the largest meeting of representatives of the aerospace and automotive industries in Poland and Central Europe – ASA Meetings. ASA Meetings – International Aerospace & Automotive Supply Chain Fairs – is an initiative of the Poznań International Fair, the leader of the Polish fair industry, and the Association of Aviation Industry Entrepreneurs „Aviation Valley” – the National
Key Cluster. The event will include an exhibition of companies from the aviation and automotive industries, as well as matchmaking meetings aimed at facilitating cooperation and business talks. The Polish aviation and automotive sector is one of the most modern in the world with a crucial role for innovation. The production potential of the companies
lies primarily in the quality of products (resulting from the knowledge of materials processing, casting, mechanics and electronics), qualified staff, very modern machine fleets and high-class technological and construction software. Thanks to the continuous improvement process, Polish companies are geared towards technical solutions used in Industry 4.0.
PGA recognized by the event industry Poznań Game Arena, the largest gaming and multimedia fair in Central and Eastern Europe, was nominated to the category of “Trade fairs” in the MP Power Awards® competition. The Jury of MP Power Awards®, composed of representatives of clients, i.e. corporations and institutions, universities and the organizer – MeetingPlanner.pl, selected the projects nominated in the competition from over one hundred twenty submitted works. It is worth reminding that in 2017 Poznań Game Arena received the annual award of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage for Patrons of Culture in the category of „Digital Culture”. About the competition: Meeting Planner Power Awards is a competition dedicated to the event industry and looking for the best implementations and practices in all its sectors. The purpose of the Competition is to award the best events and projects related to event marketing, to identify places with special event potential and to award personalities and industry experts.

Poznań International Fair to enter the real estate sector The Poznań International Fair, the largest trade fair organizer and leader of the Polish exhibition industry, has signed an agreement to purchase a majority stake of Nowy Adres S.A., a Warsaw-based company organizing the largest real estate trade fairs in five major Polish cities. Over 40 specialists who contribute to the development of Nowy Adres S.A. will strengthen the position of the Poznań International Fair on the Warsaw market and expand MTP’s portfolio by the real estate sector. Nowy Adres is the oldest real estate trade fair organizer in Poland, which has for nearly 15 years been providing professional tools for the real estate sector. These are five main groups: trade shows, conferences, market research, trade publications and thematic websites. All of them serve the same mission: to provide knowledge, contacts and source marketrelated information. The flagship product of New Adres is the Housing Exhibition organized in the largest Polish cities – Kraków, Poznań, Tri-city, Warsaw and Wrocław. “By acquiring the company Nowy Adres, we will expand our portfolio of trade fair and conference events, thus increasing the range of our operations,” says Tomasz Kobierski, VicePresident of Poznań International Fair. “Nowy Adres is an established entity with many years of experience and excellent knowledge of the Polish real estate market.

relations with our Polish partner region,” said Folke Mühlhölzer. On behalf of MTP, the award was received by Przemysław Trawa, President of the MTP Management Board. The Wielkopolska region has been a partner region for Hesse since 2000. Both the regions support European integration through cooperation and exchanges of experiences. Poland is a popular tourist destination for Germans; according to the Ministry of Sports and Tourism, a total of 17.5 million tourists came to Poland in 2016, including 1.6 million from Germany. Wielkopolska itself was visited by 1.1 million foreign tourists, a third of whom were our western neighbors. HA Hessen Agentur GmbH is a public service company. It carries out projects, campaigns and promotional activities, and also acts as a consulting body and a think tank. Its main objective is to help Hesse and other public institutions to achieve their objectives in the context of their economic development to the best of their ability.

Marketing success of the Cavaliada Tour According to the UFI Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, an association of event organizers from 87 countries, the Cavaliada Tour is one of the three best events in terms of marketing. The event organized by the Poznań International Fair was amongst the three projects nominated in the finals of the „The UFI Marketing Award” competition. This year „The UFI Marketing Award” focused on „Innovative formats leading to marketing success”. The jury assessed statistical data proving the effectiveness of
marketing activities, but also information on the use of innovative ideas, new technologies and services. “Cavaliada is a feast for horse lovers, which combines elements of sports competition, show and fairs. It is the only indoor horse riding series in Poland to have been approved by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports. The Tour takes place in three cities: Poznań, Lublin and Warsaw. Thanks to using marketing techniques to develop the project, the number of exhibitors and spectators is growing year
by year, and so is the prestige of the event,” says Karolina Nawrot from the MTP Press Centre. The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry represents 50,000 people employed in the exhibition industry globally and cooperates with 50 national and regional trade fair organizations. The UFI has 754 members from 87 countries. Nearly a thousand international trade fairs proudly bear the „UFI Approved” label, a quality guarantee for visitors and exhibitors.
CAVALIADA among the best Early January saw the Poznań Sports Gala summarize the most important sports events of the past year. CAVALIADA, the popular International Indoor Horse Jumping Competition, organized at the Poznań International Fair, was recognized by the competition jury as the most important event in Poznań. Presented by Mayor of Poznań Jacek Jaśkowiak, the award was received by Przemysław Trawa, the President of the MTP Board, and Dominik Nowacki, the Cavaliada Tour Manager. The Poznań Sports Gala was organized by the Sports Department of the City of Poznań on January 3rd in the Grand Hall of the Zamek Culture Center. A month later, February 2nd, during the Sportsman’s Gala, Tomasz Kobierski, VicePresident of Poznań International Fair and Dominik Nowacki, Manager of Cavaliada, received the award in the 60th poll for the best sports events of the Wielkopolska Region in 2017 participated in by the readers of Głos Wielkopolski. “We are glad that the formula of the event, which combines sports at the highest level with entertainment for whole families, proves itself and is appreciated!” said Tomasz Kobierski. It is worth noting that the fourth place in the competition for the Wielkopolska sportsman went to Jarosław Skrzyczyński, the winner of the Cavaliada Tour 2016/2017, who has never been so high in this ranking. All these awards are the best illustration of the fact that Poznań and the Wielkopolska region offer a good climate for horse riding!

A win-win of IDEAEXPO.MTP The Exposition of the Year 2018 Competition Jury of the Polish Chamber of Exhibition Industry (PIPT) evaluated and selected the best trade fair and event exhibitions of 2017. The competition was entered by leading companies involved in the design and construction of trade fair stands and exhibitions, which are members of PIPT, the only nationwide exhibition industry association in Poland. Two prizes in this prestigious competition were awarded to IDEAEXPO.MTP: – First prize in the category of „Foreign trade fair exhibition over 50m2” for the Polish National Stand at the Hannover Messe 2017 made for the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development designed by Magdalena Gyurkovich. – Second prize in the category of „Domestic trade fair exhibition over 50m2” for the Black Red White stand at Meble Poland 2017 designed by Agnieszka Kuśmierkiewicz. The aim of the competition organized by the PIPT is to promote the best Polish companies providing design and construction services, both at trade fairs and exhibitions during business and cultural events. This service sector is highly valued by customers in Poland and abroad; it is one of the most prominent Polish export specializations in the field of services, having a significant competitive advantage on the European Union market and beyond.

During the „Personalities and Successes of the Year 2018” Gala, which took place on 7th April at the Łochów Palace and Manor Farm near Warsaw, Przemysław Trawa was awarded in the category „Personality of the year 2018”, whereas Cavaliada was honored in the category „Success of the year 2018”.

City marketing together with the fair On March 17th, following the decision of the City Council, the Poznań International Fair took over the governance of bus stops in Poznań. The fair was commissioned with this task for a period of 10 years. This should help to maintain spatial order as well as facilitate the exchange and renovation of the existing structures. Also, in March, the City leased the advertising poles to MTP. Acquisition of the advertising media will, among other things, make it possible to promote trade fairs and other events more broadly. Part of the advertising space of the advertising poles will be made available to housing estate councils for information on the life of the neighborhoods and for community purposes.

MTP support Malta Festival The fourth edition of the Crown of Poznań was held this year. It is an accompanying project of the Malta Festival, which the Poznań International Fair has been involved in for many years now, thus opening up to all Poznanians. On June 24th, the guests could observe the panorama of Poznań from the Spire located on the premises of the Fair. Looking down on the city, the participants discussed the future of the city, what it could look like and what functions it could serve. Designed by Bolesław Szmidt, the spire was built between 1954 and 1955 using original steel structures of the Upper Silesian Tower, which had been situated here before World War II. The riveted joints were patterned on the Parisian Eiffel Tower structure. The spire is 64 meters high. It is a tradition that during every fair the Spire is decorated with the flags of all the countries the exhibitors came from, with the Polish flag being always at the very top of it. During trade fair days and on special occasions the spire is illuminated in different colors. Today, the building houses trade fairs and special events.

Vertical garden at the fair One of the walls of Hall 15, above the entrance to GARDENcity, was used to construct a green wall – one of only a few vertical gardens in Poland. The 33 m2 wall was designed and built by GARTE. There are many advantages of this living façade. In addition to looking beautiful, it captures carbon dioxide and airborne dust, produces oxygen, cools the building down in summer and insulates it in winter. In vertical gardens, plants do not need soil as they are supplied with a special system of watering enriched with mineral salts.

Przemysław Trawa becomes chairman of the International Trade Fair Statistics Association CENTREX CENTERX International Union Statistics of Trade Fair Events was founded in 1997. It is a non-profit organization representing the trade fair industry in Central and Eastern Europe. Replacing Andrzej Mochonia - president of Targi Kielce. Poznań Fair to commemorate the centenary of regaining independence F-16 at MTP An F-16 aircraft was parked in the Eastern Hall, the main entrance to the Poznań International Fair, at the beginning of the year, to mark three beautiful anniversaries: the 100th anniversary of the Wielkopolska Uprising, the 100th anniversary of Poland’s regaining independence, and the 100th anniversary of Polish Aviation. It was also a forerunner of the unique festival of Polish aviation – Poznań Air Show 2018 – which took place 19th-20th May. Never before has any of the F-16 multi-purpose aircraft, the backbone of the Polish Air Force, been exhibited outside the military base. Neither has the Eastern Hall hosted such a unique exhibit of this impressive size ever before. The wingspan of the F-16 is 9.8 m, the length is 14.8 m and the height is 4.8 m. The F-16 was on display in the Eastern Hall until June.
Spectacular historical performance at CAVALIADA A spectacular show for lovers of horses and Polish history – a historical performance „Together for ages” – created in 2.5 and 3D video mapping and animation technology marked the centenary of Poland’s regaining independence during CAVALIADA in Warsaw. Poznań Air Show 2018 was a unique event in many respects. It took place at the Poznań Airport, in a place that can be called the cradle of Polish aviation. The shows were an excellent opportunity to commemorate the following anniversaries: 100th anniversary of Poland’s regaining independence, 100th anniversary of Polish Aviation and 100th anniversary of the Wielkopolska Uprising. Moreover, in connection with NATO TIGER MEET, which Poland hosted for the first time from 14th to 25th May 2018, the best pilots serving in the air forces of the member states of the North Atlantic Alliance could be seen in the Poznań sky. Baking and confectionery in the spotlight Who is the new Polish Champion in Forming a Yeast Pastry with One Hand will be announced at the beginning of October during the POLAGRA-TECH trade fair. At the event, business talks will feature lots of sports and industry-related excitement. This event will familiarize representatives of food producers with a wide range of machines, equipment, components and additives. Two showrooms will be held as part of POLAGRA TECH. The first one, the Exhibition of Baking and Confectionery Technologies, will commence on September 30th with the Baker’s and Confectioner’s Day. The specialized solutions that will be presented here will be supplemented by the products offered by the exhibitors of the Exhibition of Food Technologies, which will start the following day, October 1st. Both events will last until October 4th. This year, most emphasis will be placed on specialist technological solutions used in the baking and confectionery industries. The trade fair will also include a Baking and Confectionery Forum, where industry specialists will share their practical knowledge and skills that are useful in their everyday work. Woodchips all around! FURNICA and SOFAB, together with DREMA held in Poznań at the same time, are the most important events for purchasing machines, components and materials for furniture production for manufacturers from all over Eastern Europe. The RETRO MOTOR SHOW is growing in scale with every single edition. It is a real treat for lovers of classic motoring. Last year, the event attracted as many as 25,347 enthusiasts. For three days, the visitors could admire over 600 vehicles showcased in six exhibition halls, took part in inspiring shows and meetings with enthusiasts who shared their love for historic motoring. It determines whether visitors to the trade fair stand can easily identify which company the stand belongs to. Getting a reliable representation of your company’s image is not enough to get noticed. It is the architecture of the stand that attracts visitors first of all. POSITIVE EXAMPLES OF WELL-UNDERSTOOD CREATIVITY Through a hall in a boat The stand of Agrecol is undoubtedly an example of a very creative approach to design. It was built in the shape of a motor boat. Though it may seem overly complicated, the client’s intention was to show the dynamic development of the company and its strong position in the market. Much bigger than others and using a lot of sophisticated details, it proudly „floated” among the less creative ones. It is worth mentioning that in this case the creative project was combined with exemplary functionality.
A house inside the hall? Yes, yes, yes! All that to show you the best products in the real world. We present an example of an extremely successful stand by IMMERGAS at the INSTALACJE trade fair. The main idea was to present complete installations of boilers, tanks, photovoltaic panels, air conditioners and controllers along with simulated connections between them on the walls and roof, just like in a real house. Compared to the previous stands, we managed to produce not only an effect of surprise, but also to emphasize the innovativeness of the company promoting ecological solutions that are ahead of the current standards. The theme of the house can successfully become a distinctive feature of this company during subsequent fairs.
Company showroom, i.e. successful launch of a new brand on the market At first glance, this project seems to be relatively simple. But in case of that concept, creativity has been „hidden”. The aim for KRISPOL to participate in BUDMA was to promote a new brand, i.e. a chain of showrooms under the KRISHOME brand. And it was precisely half of the stand area that was occupied by a perfectly mapped showroom. It was supposed not only to illustrate the direction of the company’s development, but also to be an incentive for new partners of the project.

Philosophy 360o Impressive pylons attracted attention to the Perchmann’s stand. However, they were not only a fancy decoration. Each pylon was located in a circle to reflect an innovative philosophy based on the 360o model, symbolizing a different attribute: instant data access, effortless solution finding, process efficiency, 24/7 availability, work safety and the prevalence of original state-of-the-art tools. Another factor that attracted attention was the exceptional cohesion of the project with the company’s image, which is not accidental.
K-Dron – a perfect figure as the leading theme of the stand What was very interesting and worth discussing was the concept of Poland to participate as a Partner Country at the Hannover Messe 2017 industrial fair, with the slogan SMART MEANS POLAND as the keyword. Repeatedly reproduced as the stand’s trademark, K-dron – an ideal figure, which is a square inscribed in another square – was the leading theme of the stand. Its surface is both symmetrical and asymmetrical, concave and convex. The application of the Polish national colors in the K-dron symbolized the creative and innovative potential of the Polish economy. This stand received the first prize in the Exposition of the Year 2017 competition in the category of „Foreign expositions over 150 m 2”.
„Relax in the countryside” folk stand This stand has always been a great success wherever it was set up. It is often used because it promotes the „Relax in the countryside” program sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development at all tourismrelated trade shows in Poland. It is atmospheric, as if moved entirely from the Polish village, as we remember it from our childhood, which arouses great fondness and a feeling of nostalgia. The goal of promoting agritourism, a form of recreation that has been known for years, to make it fashionable again, has been achieved.

Does Poznań have the potential to host more sports and entertainment events? Of course! Drawing on their experience in organizing events of various scales, MTP is up for another challenge – to provide Poznanians with even more excitement, opportunities to meet exceptional people and to keep unforgettable memories alive. Arena to become the pride of Poznań once again Since 2018, MTP has been in charge of the Arena sports and entertainment hall. The facility, which is one of the symbols of Poznań, will soon regain its former glory. Tomasz Kobierski, Vice-President of the Board of MTP, talks about the plans to renovate this unique building. Erected at the beginning of the 1970s, the hall requires a lot of investment and comprehensive renovation to become a modern facility where large sports and cultural events can be organized. Renovation works will begin this year and take two years. What will the new Arena be like in 2020? We have taken the first step in restoring the splendor and status of the Arena sports and entertainment hall. We are working on the concept of designing the reconstruction as well as preparing the functional plan, so that the facility can host sporting events of such significance as European Championships in various disciplines, as well as concerts and events. We are aware that Arena is important for the residents of Poznań and that it is a symbol of the city just like the Poznań International Fair. Therefore, we
