Oils on a Budget. Clair Boone
Welcome! I get it. You see oils and you think they cost a lot. You're wondering how you can afford all the things on your wishlist. Well, you've come to the right place! I'm a frugal living blogger, a money saving guru and a Mama of 3 kids. For 8 years I taught people both online through my blog and offline in various seminars how to save money and live on a budget. When I found essential oils I was super giddy for their benefits but wondered how they would fit into our lifestyle. I couldn't imagine adding something else to the budget. But then I rubbed some Young Living Peppermint on my head and the pain went away. I started using Progessence Plus and found that after 20 years of monthly cramps, they were no longer there. That's when I realized: I wouldn't need anything else to help out. This was my new normal. This was my Farmacy. And what I've been able to save with The Farmacy since 2014 can fill a book. So I decided to do just that to help you save money too.

The Dangers of Saving a Buck. Did you know the average women applies over 300 chemicals a day?! Some of the top most dangerous chemicals in our homes are: air fresheners (candles, plug-ins, and spray), chemical cleaning supplies, fabric softener, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, soap, makeup, shampoo, and other hair care/styling products. Health and safety data only exists for 15% of all the chemicals out there, even though some of them are known to cause asthma and/or endocrine disruptions. In the USA, there are really no regulations on oils. For a bottle to be labeled “pure” or “therapeutic grade” they only have to have 5% of the oil or the oil/floral water!! I've had many friends buy a cheaper oil and add in around 40 drops of oil to their diffuser to make a good smell. With Young Living oils you only need to add in 6-10 drops of oil so are you really saving money getting the cheaper ones? Young Living's oils are super concentrated and a little really does go a long way. Young Living has a Seed to Seal process- promising the purity and grade of the oil. It's a company that has been around since 1993 and still isat the forefront of the essential oils movement.
ifeA.friend came to me. Her son had a rash on his legs and she was putting Young L al Living Lavender on it. While at a family member's house she needed more lavender. e R They had another brand of lavender oil but assured her it would be the same. Within seconds of applying it the son's leg was burning and he was scratching like crazy. The cheap oil had made his leg way worse and my friend vowed never to use another brand again.
Pro Tip. Rose or Melissa may be considered expensive at $2 per drop but if you used just 1 drop a day and it helped do 5 things including nourish your skin and balance your hormones would it be worth it? Considering it takes over 2,000 kg of rose petals to distil 0.5 kg of Rose essential oil you can see where the cost comes from. Over the years I've taught that we get what we pay for. There are some oils that are so powerful that just 1 drop a day is all you need. And some oils can do 5 things with just 1 drop. I don't know about you but I love The Easy Button. 1 oil numerous uses.
Every choice you make when it comes to your wellness is either fighting disease or contributing to it. You pay now in proactive wellness or later in reactive healthcare.
Quick Tip. Buy 15mL bottles whenever possible. The price per drop on some of them is a fairly big difference! You can always split the bottle into 3 x 5mL bottles and give 2 of them to friends to try if you're not sure you'll like it.
Transfer Buying.
You may be thinking I don’t have an extra $50 per month to spend on this and in the beginning I wondered how much I’d use it. But when I looked at all the dish soap, laundry detergent, toothpaste, hand sanitizers, vitamins, lotions, cooking products that I’d buy normally I knew no store was giving me credit back for those. In fact a lot of them were chemically laden and not supporting my body in any way, shape or form. With Young Living’s products I know that the products I use are health promoting and are plant based. The other reason I love ER is I can buy gifts with it. Everything from Baby Shower Gifts to Wedding Gifts can be bought using my subscription (and I get it heavily discounted!)
Monthly Wellness Box. I want you to imagine a world where every month a box of non toxic goodies shows up on your doorstep. A world where instead of needing to go to the store, items were delivered to you? If you're assuming this will cost extra then I've got great news for you! Monthly Promotions. Every month Young Living offers promotions when you spend a certain amount. Currently those levels are 100PV for FREE shipping, 190PV, 250PV, and 300PV, with the occasional 400PV level thrown in. Hitting those promotions will result in you receiving not only your Essential Rewards points but plenty of free products.
All the products received one year if you spent 300PV each month. I always encourage people to hit the top promo level on ER each month so they get the most free stuff they can and earn a large amount of points.
How to Hit 300PV Every Month. Remember, you can hit the promotions without spending all of your own money! Here are some ideas: 1. Grab gifts for your team. 2. Use products to run incentives for your team. 3. Get samples to grow your business. 4. Give useful wellness gifts to new mamas, new graduates, birthday girls, new neighbors, teachers, and other celebrations. 5. Let a friend try an oil or product on your account. Then help them understand the benefits of having their own account. I would only do this one time to avoid being the "Avon girl" all the time.
Gift Ideas. Baby Shower gifts: Gentle Baby, KidsScents Shampoo, Lotion, and Body Wash. Mother’s Day: ART kit, Lavender Lotion, Rose Ointment. Father’s Day: Shutran Beard Oil, Mister, Shutran Shaving Cream. Friend’s Birthday: Mirah Shave Gel, Lavender Oil, Mint Facial Scrub, Wolfberry Eye Cream. Mama Friends: Thieves oil, KidScents products, Stress Away roll on. Clean Freak: Thieves cleaner, Thieves oil, Lemon oil. Fitness Friend: Fit and Active Kit, PanAway, Cool Azul Sports Gel.
PV Assistant.
Schedule your PV Assistant so that you never miss a promotion if something is out of stock. Set PV Assistant in what amount you want to hit and then choose the exact items in order to be pulled onto the order to be sure that you hit your limit. I have mine set with items I typically need to refill every month or so. I would hate to miss out on a free gift or Loyalty Rewards because I missed an item being out of stock.
Stretttttttttttch It! Young Living products are so concentrated that it's easy to double or triple up! Here's some ideas. TRIPLING YOUR THIEVES DISH SOAP: 1. Remove 2/3 soap from bottle and store for later. 2. Add 1 tsp baking soda. 3. Fill with distilled or filtered water and shake until mixed. 4. Use as directed on the bottle. TRIPLING YOUR LAUNDRY SOAP: 1. Split the Thieves Laundry Soap bottle 3 ways into 32 oz. pump bottles. (I like these.) 2. Fill each bottle with water. 3. Add 2 capfuls Thieves Household Cleaner. 4. Add 10 drops of Purification or Thieves to each bottle. 5. Use 2 pumps per load. TRIPLING YOUR THIEVES HAND SOAP: 1. Split the soap into 3 bottles like these. 2. Add 5 drops of Thieves oil. 3. Add 1 TBS castille soap. 4. Fill with water.
Why Switch to Thieves Household Cleaner. Thieves Cleaner replaced all my cleaners ......literally ALL. Pretreats my laundry. Successfully washed permanent marker off granite. Cleans my veggies and fruit. Costs less than any other cleaner I’ve found. It's gentle enough for little hands to help clean. Plant-Based. Thieves Household cleaner is made from natural ingredients, and has a plantbased formula. You can naturally clean your home and feel good about it all. It’s better for you and also better for the environment. No Gross Ingredients. It will give you a deep, effective clean without all the nasty toxins, dangerous chemicals and gross fumes. Safe for Kids. When my children were learning how to walk all they wanted to do was explore cabinets and so we locked the cleaner cabinet up for fear they'd get some on their fingers or swallow some. When my youngest started exploring I handed her some Thieves cleaner and let her "clean". I had zero fears and it was life changing.

Share The Love If you've fallen in love with these products like we have, sharing about them is super simple! While sharing about the lifetsyle is never required if you know someone who can benefit from toxic free cleaners, plant based supplements, or oils, then why not share? Go to yl.pe and enter your member ID in both spots. It will then give you a link to share. If your friend wants to get a Starter Kit give them that number to get started! Young Living will send you a thank you check around the 15th of each month. How's that for an Easy Button?!
What if.... You never had to pay for your Young Living products ever again?
There are many people in Young Living that get paid a check every month that not only covers their product but it pays their bills too. Can you imagine?
Income Opportunities. Members can earn commissions and bonuses as outlined in our compensation plan. As members move up in the ranks of Young Living, they become eligible for additional income opportunities.
What If..... What if we replaced the scary four-letter word SELL, with a simple five-letter word--SHARE! The amazing part about sharing is you don't need an abundance of knowledge. You get to just share the positive experience that you've had with essential oils and Young Living products! It's so easy--just be you while using what you love!
How much money would you need to have saved in the bank, earning interest, to earn residually what YL pays out at each rank? When you hit S T A R, it's a big deal. The median monthly income is $22. In an interest-bearing account, you would need $3,300 to earn $22 per month. S E N I O R S T A R. The median monthly income is $129. In an interestbearing account, you would need $19,350 to earn $129 per month. E X E C U T I V E. The median monthly income is $320. In an interestbearing account, you would need $47,937.50 to earn $320 per month. THAT is the power of residual income. Earning passive income on the work you did in the past... time & time again! And when you compare that passive income to what you would need in the bank (because the bank is probably paying you ~8% to use your money), it takes on a whole new meaning.
Quick Tip. If you live in a state like PA or FL, that doesn’t charge tax on food, get the vitality version of 5mls when available. The FDA recognizes them as a supplement, so you can save a few bucks on tax. Also, in some states supplements aren’t taxed. So use your Loyalty Rewards to get all supplements/vitality oils/NingXia, etc. Then use points for oils and whatever else you may need that would normally have tax when you redeem them.
Simple Switch. Dryer sheets are expensive and unnecessary. There I said it. If you're still using them here's some reasons I believe they're harming your health. The good news? I have a way cheaper alternative! Dryer Sheets are full of toxic chemicals. Chemicals found in dryer sheets go into the clothes we wear and end up right next to our body. Our body absorbs them in. There are no labeling laws in place. There's no regulations and therefore any nasty ingredients could be in them. There are synthetic fragrances in them. Synthetic fragrances are known carcinogens. They cause liver damage and cancer in mammals The toxic chemicals in them can lead to bioaccumulation. Notice the film that builds up in your dryer? It's kind of like that in your body! Easy switch: Dryer balls! They're reusable and not harmful to the environment or your family. Our favorite oils for them: Citrus Fresh, Lemongrass, Purification. g
DIY.
There are thousands of DIY recipes using Young Living oils. So many that I decided to write eBooks dedicated to them. For now though let's look at some using inexpensive oils. After Beach Care 8 drops Lavender + 8 drops Peppermint 1 ounce Raspberry Seed Oil or Sweet Almond Oil Mix together and apply to skin that has been burned by the sun. After Bite 15 drops Purification Essential Oil + 15 drops Lavender Essential Oil Carrier Oil 5ml or 10 ml Roller Bottle Put all ingredients in the roller ball bottle. Add the baking soda into a bowl and add water to make crumbly paste. Add 4-6 drops of oil. Pour into a container with a shaker. Shake a little into the pail or garbage bag each time. Room Spray 4 oz water 1 tsp witch hazel or Epsom salts 15 drops of your favorite oil. We use Purification, Lavender or Thieves. Mix in a glass bottle and spray to your hearts’ content! Lemon Dill Dip 1/2 cup of sour cream 1/2 cup mayonnaise 2 drops of Dill essential oil + 2 drops of Lemon essential oil 1 toothpick of Black Pepper essential oil Mix all together and chill before serving.

Using a roller ball is a great way to stretch oils and save money. I like these roller balls here. Add the required amount of drops in and then top off with V6 oil or another carrier oil like jojoba or almond oil. All the recipes use oils that are less than $31.

Double Duty Thieves Dish soap is not just for dishes! Here's some other great ways to use it: Jewelry Cleaner: Add just a drizzle of Thieves dish soap and clean your jewelry. (Tip: keep your cleaner in a jar and you can re use it) Dishwasher. Add 4 to 6 drops of Thieves dish soap in the detergent compartment. You can add vinegar and lemon essential oil to the rinse aid, or even Thieves Household Cleaner Spot Treatment: Just a drizzle on clothes to pre treat a stain before washing. Shampoo: Yes, this works as a shampoo! Dilute with water and add some great hair oils for the aroma. I like Rosemary, Lavender, Cedarwood, or Tea Tree. Foaming hand soap: Just add a little and fill the rest with water. Hot Tub: Put a couple small squirts of Thieves dish soap, plus two capfuls of Thieves household cleaner, in a jetted bathtub with hot water. Let the jets run for 7-8 minutes, drain the tub, and rinse. Ooey gooey messes: A drop of this and lemon can help scrub a stuck sticker off clothing or other messes. Coffee Stain: Add a few drops to a wash cloth to get a old coffee stain out of your carpet. 1 c water, 1/4 c baby oil, 3 drops Thieves dish soap = cleaner for your car.
Quick Tip. When your Thieves toothpaste tube is empty cut it in half and use from the inside. Replace the part you've cut on the main tube so you keep it from drying out. There's always a few days' worth of toothpaste left in the tube. This can also be done with the other tubes Young Living sells like Cool Azul Pain Cream, Seedlings Lotion, Sunscreen, and Thieves Chest Rub.
Double Duty When you buy a product and use it for something else that's killing 2 birds with 1 stone right there and making some savvy money decisions. Cool Azul Pain Gel as a hair gel. AlkaLime powder for skin issues. Make a paste and apply just a dab. Mineral Essence applied topically for skin issues. Can also do this behind the knee for kids who won’t ingest it. Lavaderm to detangle hair. Lavender Lotion as a leave in conditioner. (just a dab) Deodorant when skin issues arise – also use at night to help detox. Lavender lip balm for diaper rashes, apply to the scalp if too much sun exposure, for skin issues on toddlers that fall often and on kiddos cheeks in the winter to act as a barrier from the cold
Quick Tip. Buy the massage oils and make rollers. This will help stretch the oils. The Ortho Ease is a great massage oil that can be paired with your Deep Relief roller too.
Double Duty

Fill the bottle with water and empty into your diffuser. Do this 3 times. 3. Place your empty bottles in a jar of Epsom salts. Use those scented Epsom salts in a bath. 4. Clean out your empty bottles and use to make your own custom roller blends. 5. Use those empties to share samples with people. 6. You can fit 1 capful of Thieves Household Cleaner in an empty 5 ml bottle. Use it to give samples to friends.
