Using Permaculture Principles For Business
We can learn a lot about creating a business that nourishes our heart and soul by studying permaculture.
If you’ve not come across the term permaculture, it’s essentially about looking at what already exists in your ecosystem, strengthening what’s working, avoiding waste, doing no harm and caring for people and the planet. There are 12 Permaculture Principles, and what I’d like to focus on in this article is the first one, ‘Observe and Interact’.

If I’d never paused to ‘observe’ what was actually happening, then I would have missed this opportunity of being discovered by new people on a weekly basis.
It’s so easy to get caught up in marketing dogma and believing if we don’t show up online everywhere, every day—then we won’t make it in business.
So pause for a moment.
Think about where your clients have discovered you.
Was it through social media posts? In person events? Writing? Making videos? Word of mouth? Or something else?
And ask yourself, “If I could be really me, how would I do this?”
Enjoy your creative expression.
Break the rules—see what happens!
And do your art.
