Resilient

by Monica Alfing

WIKIPEDIA: ‘RESILIENT’ MEANS A PERSON (OR ANIMAL) THAT IS ABLE TO WITHSTAND OR RECOVER QUICKLY FROM DIFFICULT CONDITIONS.

Thinking about resilience, I think about my mum. Even though all the sad and difficult things that happened in her world, she always came back. And maybe with some scars here and there, but never a tear in the world she would show to others. She held her head up high and walked past, like an Amazone that just came from a massive fight.

Thinking of my childhood, my life, the women in my life, they were all resilient. All hard, fighters and heroes to me! I lived my life with these amazingly strong women around me, and here I was, a young girl with a sweet kind heart. I never wanted to play in the dirt like my sisters. Instead, I wore a dress and I was taking care of my stuffed, as well as real (stray) animals.

I was craving for hugs, wanted to give love, create kindness. It took me 12 years to get the courage to write in a letter that I loved my mum. It took her 5 years to say it back, just before I left on a plane to Canada. haha

Being a young widow with 3 daughters you need to provide, work and be an example. For her, love was providing food on the table, education, and clean clothes to wear. And so that sweet girl that was craving for connection, touch, and love, became resilient. Many things in her life happened hard, tough & sad things. Life, we called it. You work hard and you fight and you fall,.. but you get up. Yes, I was taught when I was young, “dust yourself off and get up..!”

No matter what, don’t show pain and or tears.

Ladies, we have so much resilience! But also, don’t forget to take off that backpack sometime, and let your guards down, because being resilient is something you can be proud of even if that means that instead of the dark, you sometimes just need to cry when all eyes are on you. Because I know now, that showing your tears can be as tough as not saying anything at all.

Monica is a Goal achiever and Balance Coach for Women. Her vision is to empower women in their life and to get their inner strength and Health back like Monica likes to call it, Her Amazonian Strength. As all women have this strong force inside of themselves but because of negative self-beliefs, bad health, or trauma in their lives it fades away or never even had a chance to blossom..and her mission in life is to give that balance, health, and self-love and most of all their self-belief back, the strength to achieve their biggest and wildest dreams. “Cause if a Woman is in balance, and has growth and love surrounding her she will have so much power to do whatever she wants.. and with that, she will share her power, her health and will motivate others to do the same. And with that, she will inspire and teach her children, as a woman is a creator and carrier of life she will continue to spread her knowledge and with that, a better world is ahead for the future of our children and Mother Earth”

And with that Monica, her mission is to make the ripple effect bigger with every woman she helps, life, health, or as a business coach.
