Resilient by Monica Alfing
WIKIPEDIA: ‘RESILIENT’ MEANS A PERSON (OR ANIMAL) THAT IS ABLE TO WITHSTAND OR RECOVER QUICKLY FROM DIFFICULT CONDITIONS.
I
think many words and the stories we tell, we tell before we even know what they exactly mean, they mostly come from our past and/or what we saw, heard, or learned.
Thinking about resilience, I think about my mum. Even though all the sad and difficult things that happened in her world, she always came back. And maybe with some scars here and there, but never a tear in the world she would show to others. She held her head up high and walked past, like an Amazone that just came from a massive fight. Although I am freaking proud of her, being resilient is not always a good thing. Thinking of my childhood, my life, the women in my life, they were all resilient.
