On November 30th, 2021, Argyle ISD hosted its annual Focus on Education Day. Focus on Education day is an event dedicated to highlighting teachers, students and district supporters. This event started in recognition of School Priority Month which is a public education biennium event where school districts across Texas invite locally elected officials from every level of government to visit and experience firsthand the great work taking place in the public schools.

The event has now become something Argyle ISD looks forward to hosting annually. Argyle ISD was honored to have Texas State Representative Tan Parker as the keynote speaker, Mr. Jim Coffey, Representative from U.S. Congressman Michael Burgess’s Office along with the Argyle Town Mayor, Brian Livingston and the Northlake Town Mayor, David A. Rettig. Several other local elected officials, community members and Eagle Partners were also in attendance. The AHS Cheerleaders and Majestics helped greet and serve breakfast to the attendees. Argyle ISD Superintendent Dr. Telena Wright opened the event with a district update and an introduction of the Argyle ISD School Board, Administrators, elected officials and special guests. The Argyle High School UNICEF Club students assisted the speaker,

awarded introductions and provided guided tours to several classes around the school.

The Argyle ISD Eagle Partners and district volunteers were recognized for their contributions to our district and were awarded plaques. The special guests were able to visit Mrs. Good’s Honors Biology Class, Mrs. Greenwood’s Culinary Arts Class, Mr. Rahman’s UIL Independent Study for Accounting, Computer Science, Computer Applications and Accounting Class, Mrs. Hadley’s Advanced Placement Language and Composition/Dual Credit Composition Class and Mrs. McClanahan’s Forensic Science Class. During the event the AHS Majestics Dancers performed a kick line routine, the AHS A Cappella group Remedy performed two songs and AHS Theater students Srimaan Kolanakuduru and Caleb Leonard performed a nationally qualifying duet that they performed at the State Thespians Convention. State Representative Tan Parker was presented with a plaque and was named as an honorary Argyle ISD Eagle Partner.

We want to thank everyone who attended along with those who helped with the event. Together, we focus on future growth and success of the students in Argyle ISD.
