AHS Spirit Squad Among the Best in State
For the second year in a row, the Argyle High School Spirit Squad showed it is among the best in the state.
The Eagles earned the Class 4A Division I silver medal, marking the second consecutive year they have finished second in the state championships. The UIL Spirit State Championships were held at the Fort Worth Convention Center in January.

“We’re super excited that we were able to defend our place from last year,” AHS Cheer Coach Laura Truebenbach said. “The cheerleaders work so hard and put so much into this, and it’s an amazing feeling to walk away with a silver medal.”
After competing in the preliminary round, the Eagles placed top 20 which promoted them to the finals round. Argyle has been a state finalist every year since the competition began in 2016.
The Spirit Squad is composed of 20 AHS varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders. The squad began preparation for this event in October and the state competition includes three categories - Band Dance, Crowd Leading Cheer, and a Fight Song.
