National Festival SCOTLAND 8 JUNE 2012 10:00-13:00 & 13:30-16:00 PERTH CONCERT HALL & THEATRE YOUNG MUSICIANS FROM ACROSS SCOTLAND WILL TAKE TO THE STAGES OF PERTH CONCERT HALL AND PERTH THEATRE, FILLING HORSECROSS WITH MASSES OF MUSIC FOR THIS BRAND NEW ONE DAY FESTIVAL. A RANGE OF ENSEMBLES WILL BE PERFORMING IN BOTH VENUES - YOU’LL HEAR CHOIRS, ROCK, TRADITIONAL MUSIC AND MORE! SESSIONS WILL RUN FROM 10:00-13:00 AND 13:30-16:00. EIS FANFARE & PROCESSION A BRAND NEW FANFARE WRITTEN BY COMPOSER STEPHEN DEAZLEY EXCLUSIVELY FOR NATIONAL FESTIVAL SCOTLAND WILL KICK OFF BOTH SESSIONS. AT 13:00 MUSICIAN JOE BROUGHTON WILL LEAD A PROCESSION THROUGH THE CENTRE OF PERTH BEFORE RETURNING TO PERTH CONCERT HALL FOR THE AFTERNOON SESSION. FIND OUT MORE AT MFY.ORG.UK/NATIONAL 2012 | 3

MFY MUSIC MENTORS A TEAM of MFY Music Mentors will be working at the Festival. Their role is to listen to each performance and provide focused, constructive feedback that will help each group continue their musical journey. Find out more about MFY’s Music Mentors at mfy.org.uk/national

about MUSIC FOR YOUTH Founded in 1970, Music for Youth is a national music education charity providing free performance and audience opportunities for young people aged 21 and under through an annual season of nationwide festivals and concerts.

MFY is a festival series, not a competition. It offers young people the opportunity to perform live in a supportive and non-competitive environment and more than 2.5 million young people have taken part in MFY events over the years.

THE MFY SEASON The season is designed to inspire, nurture and support musicians at every level of experience. Festivals take place in a variety of venues in over 50 locations across the UK.
