Word From the Editor How to Generate Momentum When motivation alone doesn’t bring desired change. Many of us strive for change that heightens our happiness and sense of fulfillment. Making change, however, is not easy. Once patterns are set, they resist being altered; we develop habits of living that do not allow for change without considerable effort and discipline. Often, we look to motivation as the exclusive means to change. Motivation is the why of change. Momentum is the how. The next time you are feeling stuck remember that your desire to get unstuck is part of a momentum already present in your life. That momentum, if harnessed, can fuel powerful change. The following is one way to harness that power: Generating momentum toward desired change: Recognize and amplify your motivations for change. Know why you want to develop this new habit or to curb an old habit. Remain open to the growth or transformation of your motivation over time. I hope the reading of this month’s issue of M REAL Magazine | Success Talk for Men will not only encourage you but get your momentum started and be stay hopeful about your future. What Clutter Does To Your Mind and What To Do About It!

Part of the Momentum Speaks Podcast Series Hosted By Hammond Bouldin

What is really clutter all about when it's starting to affect the way we make decisions? Because clutter can affect your attention. Clutter can deplete your energy, impact your mood? Yes, impact your mood? and clutter has these subtle ways to really start affecting us in certain ways that we really don't want to have that much bearing, but they do.

material things, it's just that the material things are more obvious because we see them everyday in our homes. Peter Wall says, "clutter robs

I want to say a quote on what clutter looks like and how it affects us from Eleanor Brown and she says, "clutter is not just physical stuff. It's old ideas, toxic relationships, and bad habits. clutter is anything that does not support your better self." So I wanted, to share with you about, what we have to learn on how to unpack the clutter, and release and surrender some activities that we need to let go of, and then there's some that you need to keep. So we really need to take a look at that. And organizing the good stuff. Deciding what needs to take priority in your life, right, incorporating them back into your life wisely. What do you think that means? Because clutter is really not just about

us of life. It robs us socially, when we're too embarrassed to have people over. It robs us spiritually, because we can't be at peace

in a cluttered home. And it robs us psychologically by stealing our ability to feel motivated in our space." What do you think of that? So what kind of emotional spiritual clutter are you stuffing into your spiritual closet? Or stuffed in your drawer? Is it fear? Is it anxiety, worry, guilt, maybe shame. These things start taking over your thought life squeezing out the joy, the peace and contentful spirit that God wants you to experience. So once we have identified right, your messiest spiritual closets, it should be time for action towards improving your spiritual and emotional health. You must drag out all the stuff and lay it all out. And you got to kind of ask yourself some real grown up questions. Like, what activity or practices feeds your spiritual and emotional growth, what distracts you and keeps you away from hearing his voice? So, as in any decluttering process, you can start today with the small stuff and celebrate your small wins along the way. And you will start to see a tremendous uplift in your emotional and spiritual life. #clutter #declutter #clutterfree #decluttering #clutterfreeliving #

Managing Grief

Since Covid 19, death and dying has become more and more the center and subject of our daily lives. Death has never been so prevalent than it is these days with over 100,000 deaths in the U.S. alone and 800,000 worldwide. The sad reality is that these numbers grow exponentially each day. We can only imagine the number of families and friends that have been impacted by their loss. Researchers and physicians have long studied grief and its effects. Dr. Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, a psychiatrist, underwent an extensive study to examine how terminally ill patients adjusted to their imminent death, only for her to discover a grief model that accurately describes the process of those who grieve. Her model consists of 5 stages: (1) denial, (2) anger, (3) bargaining, (4) depression and (5) acceptance. Although those who grieve may not experience all of these stages or even in the order in which this model presents them, many will experience most of the stages of this model. (Gregory, 2020)

1. Tune in to your Source of Strength. We are genetically built with internal strengths. For example, self-determination; hope; and resilience. Thus, our source of your strength is inside of us. The key is to tap into your strength by centering yourself to leverage your strength. Your source of strength may be prayer, meditation, or yoga, for example. These kinds of sources help release agonizing tension, brings you a sense of calm, and helps to restore your inner strength. However, some people may be so overwhelmed that they may require external sources of strength to supplement what they already possess. Such as, support from family, connecting with positive associates, or consulting with a grief counselor.

Grief has a long and lasting effect on everyone, and the extent to which one is affected varies among people. Accordingly, there is no timetable for grieving. Most scholars agree that grief is categorically classified into two groups. First, there is what is called “acute grief.” This category is characterized by signs of grief which lasts anywhere from 6 to 12 months. Secondly, there is “prolonged grief.” This category of grief is associated with more extended periods of grieving that typically extends beyond 12-months. In the latter category, however, the griever could benefit from spending time with a grief counselor to help them navigate through the process of grief. (Eisma, 2021) Nevertheless, I recommend the following steps to manage your grief:

Page 46 M The Magazine for Today’s Male Executive

Subscription Link ETMMedia.net

2. Turn it Up. Oftentimes, the griever experiences a loss of appetite or engages in a “sugar diet” that stimulates you and makes you feel better. This is a temporary fix that will eventually lead you to “crash.” Therefore, engaging in a healthy diet will not only provide you with a nutritious balanced diet, but it will restore your energy without the side effects of a sugar diet.

3. Work Out/Walk It Out. Researchers have discovered that exercising or walking is a viable treatment to reducing sadness and fatigue for those who grieve. They have also discovered that exercising or walking reproduces one’s well-being, helps to restore mobile functioning, and reproduces energy that is often lost as a result of grief. (Alisha L. Brosse, 2002) Dr. Eric Bui and other researchers suggests that engaging in a body-mind program decreases the mental and physical stress. This kind of program serves as a new coping mechanism and when performed with a partner or in a group, it provides the social support needed to help with grief-related stress. (Eric Bui, 2017) 4. Take on a new task. The loss of a loved one cannot be replaced by anyone or anything. However, loss does present us with an opportunity to create new traditions, new rituals and engage in new tasks. Scholars believe that post traumatic growth is a means to foster positive psychological changes and helps us grow beyond our grief. There are at least three benefits to taking on a new task: (i) it begins the process of coping with one’s loss; (ii) it cognitively shifts your thinking from a negative realm of thought to a more positive one; and (iii) it counteracts one’s emotional distress. New tasks create a new birth that manifests new possibilities. (Rama Krsna Rajandram, 2011)

Page 47 M The Magazine for Today’s Male Executive

5. Stay connected. While it is not uncommon to want to be alone when your loved one dies, support systems are important to those who are grieving. Support systems not only include close family members and friends, but they can also include grief support groups or individual professional grief counseling. Communication is key to coping, and sometimes talking to someone who has experienced loss can be a powerful healer. Whatever method one chooses to stay connected is completely based on what makes them comfortable. (Nordal, 2011) 6. Wind down. Grieving is often emotionally draining, and this often leads to sleepless nights. In order to wind down, you must set the mood. Music, chamomile tea, and a hot bath is a perfect remedy to winding down and getting a good night’s sleep. Music will sooth your soul; the chamomile tea sends signals to the brain and decreases anxiety, and a hot bath relaxes the tense muscles in your body. In a recent study, scientists discovered that healthy habits create healthy results. Therefore, a grief strategic plan is necessary for the self-care you need to wind down.

7. Live Their Legacy. Honoring loved ones or memorializing them is not an uncommon practice. At funerals, friends and families often share words of endearment or stories associated with their relationship with their loved ones. Even coworkers may dress up their colleague’s workstation, create candy stalls, or display photos around the office to celebrate their life. Since grieving is a life-long reality and takes on many forms, living your loved one’s legacy fosters an Earthy eternal life of a loved one. For example, starting a foundation, a college fund, or being an organ donor. As a Chaplain, I have often shared stories of my late father and brother as a way of living their legacy. Sharing these fond memories have allowed me to live their legacy with others. The key to living the legacy of your loved one is to choose how you want them to be remembered.

Michael Jordon’s NASCAR team and its sponsors have a primary goal: Diversity By Alex Andrejev

Bubba Wallace is shown exercising alone in a dimly lit gym. The camera cuts to a small, staticky screen in the corner as a news reporter’s voice is heard saying: “Bubba Wallace asks for a ban on Confederate flags at NASCAR events.” Wallace grinds through his workout, heaving and sweating as he crunches his body weight in what seems like a symbolic representation of his burden as the only Black driver competing full-time in NASCAR’s top series. Voices continue broadcasting headlines involving Wallace from this year, including references to a tweet issued by President Donald Trump, a Black Lives Matter car paint scheme and a noose incident some have labeled a “hoax.” Wallace is driving. It’s raining. The commercial lasts for a pulsating one minute and 17 seconds, and reaches a climax when Wallace walks through a gaggle of reporters — a young, Black fan looking on admiringly — and stops next to one who asks, “How do you respond to requests that you apologize?” Wallace’s eyes flick to the Page 54 M The Magazine for Today’s Male Executive

camera, then back to the reporter, and he walks on. His response is silence. Then the words, “Progress owes no apology” flash on screen before the audience is hit with an inevitable promotion for ... auto insurance? What the? “Proud to support unapologetic change. Proud to support Bubba Wallace,” the tagline for the Root Insurance ad reads. The commercial dropped in October along with the announcement that the car insurance disruptor was partnering with Wallace to “champion progress that is long overdue.“ Wallace called the ad toned down. “It just shows where we need to go as a generation, where we need to go as a nation, to not make (racism) to where it’s such an, ‘Ooh, I don’t want to touch that,’ ” Wallace said. “These conversations need to be had. That’s the problem. People don’t want to talk about it because it doesn’t affect them.” Subscription Link ETMMedia.net

At first glance, the campaign seemed like a shock to NASCAR’s system. The sport doesn’t typically see new brands launching into sponsorship with an explicit stance on a polarizing topic. But this week Root Insurance became one of five founding partners for Wallace’s new Toyota team, 23XI Racing, co-owned by NBA legend Michael Jordan and three-time Daytona 500 winner Denny Hamlin. The company joined other IPO and stock market giants sponsoring the Cup Series team in its first season. Those sponsors include DoorDash, McDonald’s, Columbia Sportswear and Dr Pepper, which are contributing to a fully funded first 2021 season for 23XI Racing. No sponsors shied away from Wallace’s social activism in their announcements.

Page55 M The Magazine for Today’s Male Executive

“As a company that values diversity, openness, and empowering local communities, we are proud to partner with 23XI Racing to build upon our shared foundation of creating a more inclusive environment for NASCAR fans,” a statement from DoorDash vice president of marketing Kofi Amoo-Gottfried said. The company was expected to spend between $10 million and $15 million with Wallace’s former Richard Petty Motorsports team and is likely investing in a similar range with 23XI, according to Charlotte Business Journal. “Two years ago, McDonald’s partnered with one of motorsport’s rising stars, Bubba Wallace, and we couldn’t be more proud to witness him succeed on and off the track, while breaking barriers and becoming one of the sport’s truest change agents,” McDonald’s USA president Joe Erlinger said in a statement. “As a founding partner of

23XI Racing, we’re excited to continue our partnership with Bubba as he and the team advance the sport and make it more relevant to a larger audience.” Wallace said the team’s sponsors share his goals for promoting diversity, inclusion and equality. He said his talks with the brands, four of which had established relationships with Wallace before signing with the team, were about “off-track stuff.” The 23XI Racing team said promoting diversity will be a goal internally as well. The team has been connecting with NASCAR’s Diversity and Inclusion office in order to consider more people of color for positions within the organization. NASCAR’s vice president of Diversity and Inclusion Brandon Thompson told The Observer that his office has referred possible candidates to 23XI, although the team makes final decisions. He said the excitement around Jordan’s entry into the sport has also generated more interest from potential applicants. “Who wouldn’t want to go work for Michael Jordan, right?” Thompson said. “There has already been an uptick in inquiries about is Page 56 M The Magazine for Today’s Male Executive

(the team) hiring and if (we) know about anything that comes open over there.” Thompson, a graduate of NASCAR’s Diversity Internship Program, said he believes the presence of the team will strengthen the already-established internship pipeline for minorities in racing, especially on the corporate side. Although Thompson said he hasn’t yet heard how many of his office’s recommendations have been hired, reports of diverse hires at 23XI have emerged. Kreig Robinson, a Black motorsports marketer who worked for Jordan’s motorcycle racing team, was named director of partnership management at 23XI, per Sports Business Journal. There is no metric in place currently for the number of diverse hires NASCAR is encouraging teams to make, Thompson said, but that is a point they could one day get to. He also said the office isn’t solely leaning on 23XI to be a target for its diversity pipeline. “Right now, it’s just more or less being intentional about it,” Thompson said. “Certainly,we have talked a lot about what Subscription Link ETMMedia.net

we need to do to strengthen our recruitment practices, strengthen our retention practices quite frankly, and any support programs we have around the company and in the industry, to make sure we’re supporting diverse talent throughout the sport.” “We’ve raised our hand that we want to be right there alongside (NASCAR), with our partners, trying to develop ways that more people can see NASCAR and the industry as a place to build their career, gain experience, and we can become more inclusive as a sport,” 23XI Racing president Steve Lauletta said. Thompson is one of 25 individuals from the Diversity Internship Program working in the NASCAR industry. More than 400 students have participated in the program since its first year in 2000. Some graduates have gone on to work in other sports professions, but the momentum around 23XI could keep more in NASCAR. “Industry-wide I think there’s just so much excitement around the team and Michael Jordan’s involvement and Bubba being able to establish himself in a competitive ride,” Thompson said. “I think there’s just a lot of general industry momentum behind that and excitement behind the team.”

our sport and it’s up to me as the car owner to be supportive of that.” If the momentum around 23XI continues, Wallace could be one of many making the conversation around race and social activism less taboo with greater corporate support. “There’s a lot of people like that inside the sport, outside of the sport, just in the world that are like, “(Racism) doesn’t bother me. I don’t care,’” Wallace said. “...If you respect me, if we’re friends, if we’re family, whatever, then it should affect you as the same way ... Just as human beings, we want to step up and make sure that our brothers and sisters looked out for.” FILE - Driver Bubba Wallace wears a Black Lives Matter shirt as he prepares for a NASCAR Cup Series auto race Wednesday, June 10, 2020, in Martinsville, Va. Bubba Wallace, the only fulltime Black driver in the elite Cup Series, said that decision should not be interpreted as “turning away from the dark and evil acts that have taken over our nation.” (AP Photo/Steve Helber, File) STEVE HELBER AP

Hamlin has already said he wants to expand the organization to a multi-car operation, and both he and Jordan have expressed their support for Wallace’s social activism and the goal of promoting diversity in racing. Thompson said that Jordan has been in constant contact with NASCAR leadership and that “it does not appear that he’s going to be an absentee owner by any means,” a promising sign that the team’s goals will be met. “(Wallace) didn’t ask for all the popularity and the eyes to be put on him,” Hamlin said. “It was because he’s broken a lot of barriers within NASCAR racing, and so he feels like this is something that he’s passionate about. He wants to continue to break barriers within Page57 M The Magazine for Today’s Male Executive

The Timeline of Computer Security Hacker History provides a fascinating look at what is considered hacking, not to mention how it has been documented. [1] As early as 1903 a magician and inventor named Nevil Maskelyne disrupted a public demonstration of Guglielmo Marconi's purportedly secure wireless telegraphy technology, sending insulting Morse code messages through the auditorium's projector. In 1932 Polish cryptologists Marian Rejewski, Henryk Zygalski, and Jerzy Różycki broke the Enigma machine code created to read Morse-coded radio communications that had been enciphered. War helped propel hacking. In 1939 Alan Turing, Gordon Welchman and Harold Keen developed the Bombe, an electroPage 100E The Magazine for Today’s Female Executive

mechanical device used by British cryptologists to help decipher German Enigma-machineencrypted secret messages during World War II. René Carmille, comptroller general of the Vichy French Army, hacked the punched card system used by the Nazis to locate Jews in 1943. It was at MIT in April 1955 that the term “hack” first came to mean fussing with machines at a meeting of the Tech Model Railroad Club stated, "Mr. Eccles requests that anyone working or hacking on the electrical system turn the power off to avoid fuse blowing.” The first ever reference to malicious hacking was “telephone hackers” in MIT's student 1963 newspaper. configuring the PDP-1 to make free calls, war dialing and accumulating large phone bills. The first known incidence of network penetration hacking took place in 1967 at a suburban Chicago area high school where members of a computer club were provided access to IBM's APL network. Evanston Township High School experimented with four IBM 2741 Selectric teletypewriter-based terminals with dial-up modem connectivity to an experimental computer system that implemented an early version of the APL programming language. The students worked independently and quickly learned the language and the system they were free to explore, often using existing code available in public Workspaces as models for their own creations. The students eventually explored the system's wider context and this proved to be the first informal network penetration effort. However, the U.S. government’s IBM Professional Office System (PROFS) and the mainframe support personnel were backing up his emails, and all were recovered. In 1983 the 414s, a group of six teenage computer hackers broke into 60 computer systems at institutions ranging from the Los Alamos National Laboratory to Manhattan's Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. As a result, the U.S. House of Representatives held hearings on computer security. By 1984 the Comprehensive Crime Control Act gave the Secret Service jurisdiction over computer fraud, and after more and more break-ins to government and corporate computers, Congress passed the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act in 1986 which makes it a crime to break into computer systems. He will reside for the rest of his life in a maximum security prison in Colorado, known as the "Alcatraz of the Rockies.” In 1990 Secret Service agents swooped down on organizers and prominent members of BBSs in 14 U.S. cities, including the Legion of Doom, conducting earlymorning raids and arrests. The result was a breakdown in the hacking community, with members informing on each other in exchange for immunity.

Hanssen used old-fashioned mail drops to communicate information to encrypted disks, flash memory cards, and even a Palm Pilot. Hanssen hacked into the computer of the FBI’s top Russian counterintelligence officer in the early 1990s. While the FBI was monitoring Hanssen’s computer use, cell phone calls, and had a wiretap of his home and office phones, he was surfing the FBI computers for references to his name in ongoing investigations. Hanssen pleaded guilty in 2001 to charges that included conspiracy to commit espionage, 19 counts of espionage, and one Page 102E The Magazine for Today’s Female Executive

A 1992 movie, Sneakers, featured fictional security experts who are blackmailed into stealing a universal decoder for encryption systems. It was the first major Hollywood movie to focus on the NSA and was a boxoffice success. In the July 18, 2013 issue of Time Magazine, intelligence section writer, Eli Sugarman, stated in his article Too Many Secrets?, “Sneakers provides even more prescient insights into the modern surveillance state, especially recently revealed National Security Agency collection programs. Sneakers centers on the development of an advanced decryption device that can break all U.S. codes — and the NSA’s attempts to obtain the device at all costs.” Robert Tappan Morris graduated from both Cornell and Harvard Universities, and in 1989, he created the Morris worm that nearly shut down 6,000 major Unix machines, causing millions of dollars in damage. In 2015 he was elected a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery for “contributions to computer networking, distributed systems, and operating systems.” In 1996 Russian crackers siphoned US$10 million from Citibank and transferred the money to bank accounts in Finland and Israel, all from an after-hours work laptop of a 30-year-old ringleader. DEF CON is for computer security professionals, journalists, lawyers, federal government employees, security researchers, students, and hackers with a general interest in software, computer architecture, phone phreaking, hardware modification, and anything else that can be “hacked.” The event hosts speakers, War Games, contests for the longest Wi-Fi connection (aircrackng), and hacking computer systems. DEF CON 28 will take place in August 2020. What happens in Vegas doesnʻt always stay in Vegas.

Los Alamos scientist Wen Ho Lee copied computer tapes with information related to nuclear weapons. In 1995, Lee downloaded 1.4 gigabytes of data, the equivalent of about 400,000 pages, from the secure computer system at Los Alamos while working nights, weekends, and circumventing security safeguards. Lee moved the data to desktop computer and to pocket-sized tapes, made over 40 hours of those tapes in 70 days in 1993, 1994 and 1997. He claimed that he made the tapes due to fear of Los Alamos losing material. When his security clearance was revoked in 1999 he dumped some in landfills. Forensics specialists were able to recover data on the tapes but they were not related to the investigation. Although Lee had erased classified files and transferred them to unclassified computers, he never admitted to espionage. In 2000 the government dropped 58 of the 59 charges, sentenced him to nine months, and freed him. The lesson was that the investigation was mismanaged, and the U.S. District Judge reprimanding the U.S. government and apologized to Lee. A positive result of these countless cybercrimes led to the first DEF CON, the world's largest hacker convention held in Las Vegas in 1993. Since then Electronic Disturbance Theater, an online political performance-art group, attacked the Pentagon website in 1998. The group called Level Seven Crew (L7) defaced the U.S. Embassy in China's website in 1998, and placed racist, antigovernment slogans regarding U.S. embassy bombings. L7 was rumored to have been involved in the bitcoin terror attack on the Pakistani intelligence agencies with the help of little known French group The Mozart and an unknown Indian group called the Bafu-moshai. The attack was the most advanced server breach of its kind.

Canadian Michael “Mafiaboy” Calce took down the websites of Yahoo, Amazon and eBay in 2000 at the age of 15, by using denial-of-service attacks across 75 computers in 52 networks. Microsoft became the prominent victim of a new type of hack that attacked the domain name server - the denial-of-service attacks on the DNS. Dutch password cracker was released with viruses named after Anna Kournikova. The Code Red worm infected tens of thousands of machines. The hacking group World of Hell was exposed for breaking into the Defense Information Systems Agency computer system on June 2001. Soon more worms with names like Kama Sutra, Black Worm, Mywife, Blackmal, Nyxem version D, Kapser, KillAV, Grew and CME-24 began spreading through e-mail client address books to destroy or delete user files. In November Klez.H worm became the biggest malware outbreak. Teenager Sven Jaschan released a series of worms in 2004 that eventually became known as Netsky and Sasser, and accounted for as much as 70 percent of all the malware spreading at that time over the Internet. As a teen he received only a suspended sentence and was immediately hired by a security company to help come up with antidotes to computer viruses.

More recent famous hackers include Kevin Poulsen who hacked into the phone lines of a radio station to win prizes; broke into phone systems to reactivate old numbers. He is now a Senior Editor for Wired News.

From around the globe hackers were operating in the U.S., Turkey, India, Iran, Israel, Russia, or on a Chinese Island – anywhere with access to electricity and a web network, the digital world was rapidly transforming with security breach one after another. In 2010 Symbian OS was released by a hacker named A0drul3z to gain access to cell phone data, and soon after in 2011 Bank of Americaʻs website got hacked by a Turkish hacker named JeOPaRDY. It was estimated that 85,000 credit card numbers and accounts were stolen due to the hack. Bangladeshi hacker TiGER-M@TE set a world record in 2011 by defacing and hacking 700,000 websites in a single shot. He also hacked the websites of Youtube, MSN, Bing, Dell, Western Union, Linkedin, HP and Microsoft Kenya. When the YouTube channel for Sesame Street was hacked and then streamed pornographic content for 22 minutes, it hit mainstream America like never before, stealing its way into homes and also the minds of children. Endless pages could be filled with hacking incidents in France, Norway, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Egypt – anywhere on the planet, but the point was that whether it was military, governments, banks, corporations, movie

In 2014 the White House computer system was hacked and the FBI, the Secret Service, and other U.S. intelligence agencies categorized the attacks “among the most sophisticated attacks ever launched against U.S. government systems.”

Whether it was an individual like phone phreaker Steve Wozniak, or The Mentor Loyd Blankenship who authored The Hacker Manifesto, or a group of hackers like the Legion of Doom, the Masters of Deception, or MoD, it seems that the earliest generation of hackers did the world an inadvertent service. By creating viruses, worms, denial of service attacks, or breaking into victim’s systems like AT&T, the digital world woke from the benefits of the internet to the nightmares that can be caused when forensics and security is not maintained. Ironically, all of these now former hackers are industry professionals helping to correct the very wrongs they perpetrated. What magician and inventor Nevil Maskelyne inspired in 1903 spawned a consciousness that will last for an unknown duration, and I doubt he could have ever imagined that. Cyber War & Cyber Peace in th "Cyber War and Cyber Peace in the Middle East tackles the history of a new and complex domain in a richly historic and notoriously complicated region. Assembling a diversity of perspectives from the Middle East and around the world, it captures a snapshot of the region's cyber flashpoints, delineates their underlying drivers, and begins to chart a path forward. With finesse, it distills a rapidly developing universe of conflict that thornily defies distillation." -Eric Rosenbach, Co-Director of the Harvard Kennedy School's Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs

This book examines the issue in the context of a region whose history, geopolitics, and potential is as complex as cyberconflict itself." -Matt Devost, CEO of OODA LLC and Founding Director at the Cyber Conflict Studies Association "'Cyber War & Cyber Peace' raises important issues of the war that is not on the battlefield: sabotage of critical infrastructures, “lone-wolf terrorism” embodied in hacktivism, informational warfare between state actors, and the clash

“Nations and courts struggle to keep pace with the worldwide cyber enterprise and are in danger of being trampled by the proliferation of tools and applications that threaten economic systems, critical infrastructure and those vulnerable sanctums, hearts and minds. The Middle East is an open marketplace for this race, where legal restrictions, defensive platforms, and privacy rights are neglected in pursuit of offensive capabilities with unknown second order effects. Policymakers owe thanks to the authors of “Cyber War and Cyber Peace in the Middle East” for distilling the urgent questions about international law, authorities, and comparative partner and adversarial capabilities into an explainer that ends with actionable, real world recommendations for international regulations and agreements to prevent interstate cyber conflict going forward, even as the field continues to accelerate.” -Kirsten Fontenrose, Director of the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Middle East Security Initiative "We've spent a lot of cycles looking at the macro-level dynamics of cyberconflict or focused on the implications for a single Page 108M The Magazine for Today’s Male Executive

The volume’s proposed solutions for establishing international norms to tackle the threats in cyberspace are a welcome and much needed addition to the literature. The Success Code - Ray Brehm Do you ever wonder why some people always seem to succeed, and others fail? You already have access to all you need. If you want to learn how to use your true ability to access the secrets of success, then this may be the most important book you read this year, here's why ... But first a warning: Despite how success is portrayed in the media, or in movies, most of it doesn't happen overnight. The principles in this book are readily at your disposal right now, but some of them take time to implement in your life. If you are impatient, or looking for a quick fix, this book probably isn't for you. On the other hand, if you are willing to implement some simple habits and new mindset ideas into your life, then we encourage you to read on. Most "overnight" successes have been developed with small changes in daily habits and mindset tweaks, one day at a time. You will be surprised how simple these habits are, yet the majority of the people you know do not implement them on a regular basis. We asked over 20 experts to describe these habits for us, and the result was The Success Code. The Success Code is a life lesson of habits, mindsets and stories of how they have been used to overcome obstacles and achieve success. Yes, that's a lot of great information, but it gets better because you are also getting access to all of the private video conversations with the authors about these breakthrough principles (Sept 2020). Start using these principles in your life!
