DETAILED MILLWORK This reception desk is customized, made by warm oak wood. The custom desk has an ADA access as the front of the desk is lower in height compared to the desk at the back, allowing users with wheelchair to communicate with receptionist. The wood movement in between both desks gives a sense of privacy to the receptionist, as its crucial to have closed space. The reception area is the first thing users would see once entered in the space, hence to create a dramatic, big reception desk would draw them into checking the space!
The customised booth seating is dedicated for groups, in order to give them privacy. Therefore, the circular dividers give an enclosed feel, allowing users to feel comfortable and private about their conversations. The booth can easily fit up to 4 people, sitting comfortably. The table is also customised, it has a void on the sides, for users to rest and stretch their legs. The linear cutouts on the divider allows users to breath while sat in there, because the space is tight, it is vital for users breath easily and not feel claustrophobic. The two divider panels are made out of bamboo wood which brings in natural elemtns and culutral aspect of Hong Kong.

The task was to choose three exisiting or new departments of YMCA and to redesign their space according to your concept. Additional blocks could be added to create a bigger center and to serve more programs and circulation space for the members.
BUILDING OVERVIEW YMCA is located at 6400 Habersham St, Savannah, Georgia 314o5. Habersham Street is not is mainly filled with residential houses with department stores . YMCA has a competitor at Abercorn street; The Memoral Day School Day Care since YMCA also has a huge department of child day care. BUILDING ENVELOPE The height of the building varies throughout, as you can see, it has different types of ceilings flat and with arches. YMCA building heights vary from 14 feet to 16 feet.
The project maximizes connectivity with horizontal transparency and vertical continuity with a double height space that brings together each member of the YMCA family. The new main entrance offers easily navigated paths to all activities for people young and old to connect, support and energize each other. Larger windows and open views between childcare, fitness and garden creates a sense of unity and connection. Vibrant color palatte joins zones to serve as a way-finding.

The open space between the two buildings had no connectivity except for a green lawn, hence to incorprate the natural form, I designed a garden and a pathway where members can communicate and feel connected between the two buildings.

Enerspace is a professionally designed
company that offers office spaces in Palo
Alto and Chicago. These spaces range from coworking, dedicated desk, and private
offices. This project aims to introduce Enerspace in Savannah, Georgia. The new location of Enerspace in Savannah intersects between Montgomery Street and West Congress Street.
Anthropologie, founded in Wayne, Pennsylvania, 1992. Filled with women’s apparel. Executive director is Kristin Norris. The exterior of the building has exposed bricks, suggesting it is a historical building.
The corner of Montgomery and West Congress Street is quite slow with few restaurants and the Franklin Square where people sit and relax. however, the stress after West Congress Lane is West Broughton Street; which is one of the busiest street in Savannah. It has variety of
restaurants and shops. The street has easy transportation access. Potential noise include: construction sites, garbage pickup in back lanes, vehicle sounds and people chattering. 38 Montgomery St, Savannah, GA 31401, USA
Placid waters shows the serenity and calming feelings of nature. Being in this atmophere helps people face the challenges of life by bio mimicing nature’s beautiful scenery. Scenery that can be intense, like the roaring water of a water fall, calm like a flowing river or serene like seeing the sun’s rays shining through the trees. These scenes help us to see the natural beauty in life, showing us that there is a more to life than the daily talks we stress about.
