NASSAU BAY GARDEN CLUB
The Nassau Bay Garden Club is currently on a summer hiatus, however, its members have been hard at work on various projects in June and July to further the Club’s mission, which is to encourage interest in home gardening, promote civic beauty and conservation of resources, and to better horticulture practices. The first meeting of the year will be Tuesday, September 10th in the City Hall Council Chambers (2nd floor). The Club will welcome friends at 9:30am, with a special guest speaker at 10:00am, and Business Meeting at 11:00am. Mayor Mark Denman will address the audience with a report on the State of the City. The Garden Club invites all to attend – please bring a neighbor/friend/relative. All are welcome! A few hot weather tips as the end of summer get closer: 1) Cut off rose blooms as soon as they start to wilt. 2) Water only in the early morning. 3) Do not trim trees or bushes until much later – you will be cutting off new growth and blooms. Go out and enjoy our beautiful City!
