WELCOME OFFICER HENDERSON
Officer Perry Henderson was sworn in with the NBPD on Monday, February 3rd. Perry comes to the NBPD with more than two and a half years of experience, and most recently worked with the Pasadena Police Department and Pasadena Fire Marshal's Office. He started his law enforcement career with the Dickinson Police Department. He currently holds a Crime Prevention Certification, as well as fire / arson investigation training, and hazardous material investigation certification. Before beginning his second career in law enforcement, Perry earned a Culinary Degree from the Art Institute of Houston and has worked in management positions with the Astros, Rockets, The House of Blues, and Landry’s Inc. He and his wife Tracy have been married for 33 years and have two adult sons.
MAY 2, 2020 CITY ELECTION INFORMATION BALLOT INFORMATION
On Saturday, May 2nd, Nassau Bay residents will be asked to vote for the positions of Mayor, Council Position 2, 4 and 6. The following individuals have completed an application for the May ballot (listed in alphabetical order): • Jonathan Amdur, Mayor • Phil Johnson, Council Position 2 • Ashley Graves, Mayor • Bryce Klug, Council Position 4 • Don Hollowell, Mayor • Matt Prior, Council Position 6 • Bob Warters, Mayor Individual candidate biographies can be found online on the City's website at www.nassaubay.com/election (for those candidates who submitted one). Residents will also be asked to vote on twenty-two (22) propositions amending the City Charter. REGISTER TO VOTE & VOTING BY MAIL
The last day to register to vote is April 2nd. Voter registration cards are available at the Harris County Clerk's Office. The last day to apply for a ballot by mail is April 20th. Eligible voters are able to submit an application for a single election ballot as early as January 1st.
EARLY VOTING DATES
Early Voting will be held in the City Hall Council Chamber (1800 Space Park Drive, Suite 200) from April 20th to April 28th. Voters can stop by from 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday, April 20th through Friday, April 24th. On Monday, April 27th and Tuesday, April 28th, voters can cast their ballots from 7:00am to 7:00pm. ELECTION DAY
Election Day is Saturday, May 2nd. Voting will be held in the City Hall Council Chamber from 7:00am to 7:00pm. Unofficial tabulation of results will be publicized as soon as possible after 7:00pm on May 2nd. Make sure you bring one of these accepted forms of identification: • Texas Driver License issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) • Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS • Texas Personal Identification Card issued by DPS • Texas Handgun License issued by DPS • United States Military Identification Card containing the person’s photograph • United States Citizenship Certificate containing the person’s photograph • United States Passport (book or card) If a voter does not possess and cannot reasonably obtain a photo ID, they may still cast a regular ballot by presenting a supporting form of ID and executing a Reasonable Impediment Declaration, noting the voter’s reasonable impediment to obtaining an acceptable form of photo identification. Just an FYI: When you go vote, you can bring a marked sample ballot or a Voters Guide into the voting booth with you.
