DAYS 3–5 I DENALI NATIONAL PARK AND PRESERVE/ANCHORAGE Spend two days exploring Denali’s interior on guided hikes, getting a close-up view of its unique flora and fauna. Enjoy free afternoons to relax or explore further. Then travel to Anchorage. Grande Denali Lodge; Hotel Captain Cook Meals: 3B, 3L, 2D DAY 6 I SEWARD HIGHWAY/KENAI PENINSULA Travel the stunningly scenic Seward Highway on one of National Geographic’s “Drives of a Lifetime.” Ride the tram to the top of Mount Alyeska, and get up close to Alaska’s wild residents at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. Seward Windsong Lodge | Meals: 1B, 1L, 1D DAYS 1–2 I FAIRBANKS, ALASKA/DENALI NATIONAL PARK AND PRESERVE Arrive in Fairbanks. Hear Iditarod tales from a trail veteran and interact with sled dogs. Travel through magnificent scenery aboard a deluxe, glass-domed rail car, taking in panoramic views. Then enjoy an introduction to Denali at the Murie Science and Learning Center. DAYS 7–8 I KENAI FJORDS NATIONAL PARK/ANCHORAGE Cruise the coast of Kenai Fjords National Park, spotting all manner of marine life, including orcas, humpbacks, sea otters, and harbor seals; and see an advancing tidewater glacier calve chunks of ice into the water.
