Hey, I’m Dr. Diane!
Fall is here, and it’s time for everything: pumpkin, apples, cider, and spices! Even here in SWFL, where it’s still wonderfully warm and sunny, I love all the fall flavors and scents. And the Halloween (my favorite holiday) decorations here rival some of the best I’ve seen in New England!
In this issue, we have some great articles on IV therapy for immune support and longevity, light therapy, and stress reduction. Considering stress is a significant factor in why we get sick, there are some great tips and insights to help you heal your body and stay healthy this winter. Since I’ve been doing more meditating, I’ve found that one of the ways to stay healthy is to focus daily on what I’m grateful for—and with Thanksgiving around the corner, it couldn’t be a more appropriate time.
"Practicing
gratitude is fundamental to the law of attraction and learning how to manifest and create your ideal life."
—Dr. Diane Hayden, PhD
Practicing gratitude is fundamental to the law of attraction and learning how to manifest and create your ideal life. The theory is that to bring what you want into your life, you must be grateful for what you already have. And you have to give thanks for what you receive in the future. This enables a constant flow of positive energy into and out of your life. If you are not thankful for what you receive, it will block the flow, and you will have difficulty attracting what you want.
Whether you believe in the law of attraction or not, practicing gratitude makes us better people. Take a minute to see how you feel after the next time you thank someone for something. Doesn’t it give you a nice, warm feeling? And check in with how you feel after you should have said thank you for something and didn’t. Not as nice a feeling, right?
Think of all the opportunities you have to show gratitude every day:
• You can thank your spouse for getting up early with the kids so you can sleep in.
• You can thank your kids for cleaning up their room.
• You can show gratitude to your assistant for helping you run a successful business every day.
• You can thank the server who waits on you for dinner.
• You can show gratitude to the person who b ags your groceries at the market.
among our most important positive emotions but one our consciousness, boosts our energy, and enhances
Doesn’t it give you a nice, warm feeling? And check in with how you feel after you should have said thank you for somewith You can thank your kids for cleaning up their room.
Practicing the fine art of gratitude is not only among our most important positive emotions but one that links directly to physical and mental well-being. There is a special kind of magic in gratitude, for it raises our consciousness, boosts our energy, and enhances our self-worth.
Wishing you health and happiness,

The unique mission of BOOSTIE™ is to simplify healthy eating.
In a society where an organic “protein” bar may not actually be a healthy choice, we aim to provide quick and easy food that truly benefits our bodies.
The real value of BOOSTIE™ is found in the sprouted nuts and seeds it contains—the only type of nuts and seeds that offer a powerhouse of nutrients. Each ingredient was chosen purposefully and with intention, and I added cacao nibs for additional nutritional value.
In addition to being healthful, BOOSTIE™ is super convenient. After a long day or when traveling, cooking may not be a convenient option. Adding either BOOSTIE PINK LEMONADE or RASPBERRY to good quality plain yogurt provides a fast, complete meal—and because BOOSTIE™ is nutrient-dense, you’ll feel full and satisfied.
BOOSTIE NAKED is low in sodium and rich in vitamins, minerals, micronutrients, plant protein, fiber, omega-3s, and electrolytes. The PINK LEMONADE and RASPBERRY versions are perfect for intense exercisers, athletes, and people over the age of 50. Why? We need them! Istartedmy life coaching practice
to address a need I observed while teaching university courses and in my consulting work with disabled adults. The courses I taught prepared future teachers and administrators to work in K-12 educational settings, and the students in these courses consistently came to me for mentoring and guidance, especially in the current very stressful educational environment. The disabled adults I work with were also regularly seeking mentoring and guidance.
My adult life has been marked by a consistent role as a guide, mentor, and support system for those around me. This unofficial role, which I held for many years, eventually led me to pursue a life coaching certification. My genuine interest in the health and well-being of others, coupled with a passion for serving and advocating for those who may be marginalized, forms the bedrock of my coaching and consulting practice.
My practice is designed to support individuals facing personal and professional obstacles. I specialize in teacher and administrator wellness, as well as the well-being of human service and other support service professionals. I also work with graduate students and disabled individuals and their families, offering guidance and support tailored to their unique circumstances.
As a life coach, I love watching my clients grow and find their purpose. It brings me joy when I am able to assist clients in overcoming obstacles, recharging and restoring their focus, reducing stress, building self-understanding, and creating a blissful life.
Theresa Edmunds, Certified Health Coach Naples Robotic Pain Relief
Idiscovered Robotic Precision Therapy after my husband had a shoulder injury from golf. He had been suffering for two years with no resolution. After three robotic muscle treatments he was pain free and the problem completely resolved. I was so impressed with this technology that I decided to become certified in RPT as a neuromuscular therapist, and we opened Naples Robotic Pain Relief in 2022. I find my work very rewarding and enjoy helping people resolve their pain and get back to doing the things they love.
Robotic Precision Therapy is a revolutionary technology that deeply relaxes muscles in a way no other therapy can. As muscles are relaxed using the gentle pressure of the robotic arm, the muscle tissue releases contraction. This precise, computerized therapy allows muscle tissues to lengthen back to their original state—something no other method is capable of. Using static pressure in combination with vibration, this technology releases tension, taking pressure of bones, joints, and nerves. As this happens, not only is range of motion restored and posture improved, but long-term pain relief is also achieved.
Many clients have been seeking relief for months— or even years—before finding Naples Robotic Pain Relief. This innovative technology succeeds where other therapies have failed. With over six hundred muscles in the body, Robotic Precision Therapy is often just the solution people are searching for. Why simply manage pain when it’s possible to actually resolve it?

Longview Vitality | Longview Consulting
At Longview Vitality, we are dedicated to helping business owners, leaders, and professionals unlock their peak performance and achieve personal and professional success. Through a holistic approach, we combine executive coaching with high-performance methodologies to enhance emotional intelligence, clarify goals, and connect individuals to their true purpose. Our personalized high-performance protocols not only improve mental and physical health but also remove limiting beliefs, empowering our clients to lead more fulfilling, purpose-driven, and prosperous lives to help make a greater impact on the world.
After spending 25 years working with C-level executives, I realized that success isn’t just about professional achievements—it’s about finding balance between career, happiness, and personal fulfillment. My passion for holistic coaching was born out of my own experience with burnout, where I faced the consequences of putting myself last. It wasn’t until I incorporated wellness, self-care, and mindset work that I achieved peak performance in my own life. At 50, I discovered cognitive behavioral therapy, neurolinguistic programming, hypnotherapy, and meditation, which helped me heal childhood trauma and overcome a 35-year emotional eating disorder through rapid transformational therapy. This profound experience drove me to integrate these powerful tools into my practice, helping others who, like me, struggled with stress, limiting beliefs, and lack of purpose.
Our unique blend of mindset reprogramming and executive development sets us apart, allowing clients to not only achieve professional prosperity but also experience deep personal and spiritual growth. We guide high-achievers to align their inner well-being with their outer goals, transforming them into fulfilled, purpose-driven leaders.
One of my greatest joys as a holistic practitioner is witnessing my clients reach new heights of success, whether it’s through business and career success, life achievements, or breakthroughs in self-development. While I’m always grateful for the acknowledgment of client success, the truth is that my role is to bring out the best in them—they do the hard work. I create the space, provide the tools, and facilitate the process, but they are the ones transforming their lives and the lives of their clients and customers. Some of my favorite moments happen during retreats, where I get to watch people evolve over a weekend—experimenting with yoga, gaining clarity, or having profound epiphanies. It’s these experiences that remind me why I’m so passionate about this work. When we prioritize our own well-being, we can help others reach their full potential, multiplying the positive impact on the world.
Aproduct of life’s best and worst experiences, Mind’s Eye Hypnosis was born from my battles with the weight of family trauma and the freeing healing power of hypnosis. My journey to becoming a hypnotist began with a painful break between my mother and me that spiraled me into a debilitating depression. After exhausting all traditional methods of therapy with very little improvement in my emotional or physical state, my husband suggested I try hypnosis, and I thought, why not? The sessions that followed would change the course of my life in the best way.
Experiencing the profound and permanent change that hypnosis made in healing my trauma moved me to become a licensed hypnotist so that I may help others heal the way I did. I am now the founder and owner of Mind’s Eye Hypnosis, based in Simsbury, CT, where I specialize in trauma release via Root Cause and Spiritual Hypnosis. My sessions are tailored to your specific needs to ensure the full release of trauma, negative emotions, and limiting beliefs.
My Healthy Eating Weight Release Program is well-known for working to restructure your perspective of food and reform your relationship with it, achieving a healthier weight and lifestyle. I also serve as a Spiritual Coach and Teacher via my Path for Discovery courses, which combine hypnosis, spiritual coaching, and life coaching to connect you with your most diving energy.

Can a Facial Really Improve Your Overall Health and Well-Being?
By Nadia Barsamian
Perhaps“In a world where societal standards often shadow our selfworth, remember this: you are inherently beautiful, unique, and enough, just as you are.”
—Nadia
Barsamian
unsurprisingly, one of the biggest risk factors for developing or triggering significant skin and overall health conditions is stress. Conditions such as hormonal disruptions, psoriasis, and eczema often flare up right after a stressful life event. Natural healing remedies, increasingly sought after in addition to or in place of traditional care options, often involve mindbody techniques, such as relaxation, meditation, and hypnosis.
The Healing Power of Facial Massage
But what about facials—is there healing power in facial massage? Can facials really promote a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being?
A Journal of Biomedical Research study revealed that facial massage reduced anxiety and negative mood status and increased sympathetic nervous activity. The study revealed that the effects of a 45-minute facial massage significantly decreased negativity and anxiety and suggested that facial massage, in general, is beneficial for stress alleviation and psychological relaxation.
Facial massages also help to relieve tension, increase circulation, and act as a natural facelift. When facial and scalp muscles are tense, there’s a greater chance for wrinkles. Just as increased blood and oxygen flow stimulate relaxation and
circulation, facial muscles respond similarly. By stimulating the pressure points and relieving tension, blood flow is revitalized, providing benefits not only to the face but throughout the body. Facial massage, in addition to boosting blood circulation, also brings oxygen to the skin, which leads to increased collagen production and a healthy, radiant glow.
Gua Sha
Gua sha uses stones to activate facial fascia—a powerful, ancient technique that promotes the body’s natural healing by creating balance, movement, and radiance. “Gua,” meaning to scrape or rub, and “sha,” meaning flowing to the skin’s surface, involves pressing and stroking a small stone to gently massage, manipulate, and stimulate specific energy points along the face and body. The process, called coining, spooning, or scraping, helps break up blood and pigmentation stagnation or adhesions in the skin. With the gentle pressure of gua sha, lymphatic fluid is moved along its traditional pathways and drains into the body. The free-flowing movement of blood and lymph allows toxins to be released, revealing glowing, healthier skin and improved function of the immune system.
Immediate results and benefits include:
• Instant firming, renewal of facial contours, and natural lifting
• Reduction of fine lines and wrinkles in the eye area, in addition to decreased puffiness and dark circles
• Flatter and smoother smile lines and deep wrinkles
• Reduction of wrinkles and sagging on the neck
• Diminished age spots, hyperpigmentation, sun damage
• Greater penetration and absorption of active skincare ingredients
• Aids in healing acne breakouts and inflammation
Muscle tension, inflexible fascia, and stagnant lymph are three vital causes of excess aging that typical skincare regimes don’t address. Facial gua sha aids the skin’s ability to release dirt, sebum, and general buildup within the pores and helps relieve many skin conditions, including rosacea, dryness, and hormonal acne. Through gua sha, circulation and flow of blood and fluids are enhanced, natural hydration is improved, and radiance is restored.
Bringing It All Together
The face reveals what is happening inside the body, illustrating feelings, thoughts, and emotions. When you’re stressed, it will show on your face, regardless of your skincare routine. Facial massage helps to promote well-being, and the peace it fosters will deliver healing that surpasses surface-level benefits.
More than just a skin enhancer, an Herbaluxe facial is a haven for your mind and body. During our consultations, we delve deeper than skin types—we want to understand you so we can align our treatments with your journey.

How Light Therapy Changed My Life
“This new wearable patch technology works on a similar principle, much like the sun’s light energy penetrates the skin and stimulates the synthesis of vitamin D. Using a unique and patented technology based on photobiomodulation (phototherapy), these nontransdermal patches are designed to stimulate upregulation of the body’s regenerative cells to promote healing and well-being.”
—Caroline Thonon, MBA
By Caroline Thonon, MBA
Who would have thought we could use something as simple as light to heal ourselves? It sounds too simple and too good to be true, right? However, looking at nature, we see that light is essential in many chemical activities. Light energy affects water temperature, biological processes (such as the relationship between predators and prey), and plant photosynthesis and growth. Light is responsible for all life—for the production of the air that we breathe, the cycles of our oceans, the magnetic fields around our planet, gravity, warmth, and our weather. So, why wouldn’t light be essential in our biological processes and how we heal as well?
How Does Light Therapy Work?
Phototherapy, or light therapy, is now a wellestablished treatment modality that uses specific wavelengths of light to achieve therapeutic benefits. This new wearable patch technology works on a similar principle, much like the sun’s light energy penetrates the skin and stimulates the synthesis of vitamin D. Using a unique, patented technology based on photobiomodulation (phototherapy), these nontransdermal patches are designed to stimulate upregulation of the body’s regenerative cells to promote healing and well-being. This phototherapy technology is a game-changer in transforming the trajectory of aging, especially for the average person who cannot afford—nor wants the invasiveness of—traditional stem cell treatments. Providing a painless and affordable alternative, each quarter-size patch contains organic crystals that interact with body heat to emit specific wavelengths of light when adhered
to the skin. This stimulates the upregulation of the body’s regenerative cells to promote healing and well-being.
How Long Does It Take to Feel the Results?
Your body has innate intelligence, so the regenerative cells are naturally directed to repair what is needed most. That said, you may not feel anything immediately. Some people sleep better or have more energy the first week. Others feel reduced pain levels or notice their skin looks better. Within the first 24 hours, the patch has been shown to upregulate about 5,000 genes to a more optimized state.
The rule of thumb for significant outcomes is to use the patches daily and at least one month for every decade of age. At 70, you would want to commit to seven months; at 40, four months. Since nothing goes into the body except a frequency signal, this natural stimulation is safe. One caveat could be that if you take medications, you may want to have your doctor carefully monitor you because, typically, your medication needs will decrease as your body functions more and more optimally, restoring you to a more youthful state. Three years ago, I had no energy and couldn’t even walk half a mile. I started using the light therapy patch, and within two months, I saw a considerable decrease in the brain fog I’d been having. After six months, I felt my energy returning and was able to walk much further. My bloodwork even showed that I was thirteen years younger than my biological age. Now, as I write this article, I’m about to embark on a five-hundred-mile walk in Spain!
Light therapy has helped people avoid surgeries, eliminate pain, and regain their lives. I’ve been awed and inspired by the multitude of situations in which I’ve witnessed people going from the restrictions of being in a wheelchair to being fully mobile and active again. Many studies have even shown improvements to people's mental and emotional states. One trial that used brain mapping showed that after only six weeks, the brain was calmer and more balanced. These type of changes lead to a decrease in symptoms such as memory issues, depression, anxiety, sleep, and more.
Rejuvenate Your Cells for Better Health
Welcome to a noninvasive, effective way to change the trajectory of aging with a patented technology that is safe, affordable and easy to use.
You can look, feel, perform, and live younger— stem cells are the key! They are a vital part of our immune system that repairs and regenerates damaged cells. And with an easy-to-wear innovation, you can now activate your own stem cells.
Stem cells can transform into almost any cell needed to repair and regenerate damaged cells such as blood cells, skin cells, and liver cells.
The stem cell activation patch stimulates your body’s own stem cells in a completely safe, noninvasive, non-transdermal and cost-effective way.
Feel your best—regardless of age.
•Sleep better
•Stay mentally sharp
•Experience less pain
• Be vital and active
• Reduce appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
•Speed up wound healing
•Reverse aging
•Enhanced athletic performance and recovery
•Restore a healthy body

Flotation Therapy Enhances The Immune System
Beyond Ozempic: Exploring Natural Ways to Boost GLP-1 Levels for Weight Loss
By Denise A. Pancyrz, CHN, DSS™
“GLP-1 medications are synthetic, typically an injectable taken daily or weekly. It is released in response to food intake by mimicking how your GLP-1 hormone acts in your intestines and the messages sent to and from your brain.”
—Denise A. Pancyrz, CHN, DSS™
Weight loss tips, tricks, and tools will always be a booming industry. Medications such as Ozempic, Trulicity, and Mounjaro had originally been approved for type 2 diabetes patients. Over time, though, word spread that patients were losing weight, which even caught the attention of the Hollywood crowd. These drugs were used “off label” for non-diabetic patients who wanted to lose weight, “off label,” meaning the FDA only approved their use as a diabetic medication.
Other medications have finally been approved as weight-loss-only drugs: Saxenda, Wegovy, and Zepbound. What is different between these drugs? Nothing, mostly…except the weight loss drugs are a higher dose than the diabetes version. Diabetes patients need to be cautious with these medications, especially if they are taking more than one diabetic drug.
What Is a GLP-1?
GLP-1 is a glucagon-like peptide-1 hormone. The GLP-1 hormone is located in the intestines and is released when you eat. This hormone helps:
•Trigger insulin to be released from the beta cells in the pancreas.
•Inhibit glucose from being produced from the liver, which helps keep blood glucose lower.
• Keep healthier insulin sensitivity levels.
•Slow gastric emptying, acid secretion, and gut motility, all of which help to reduce post-meal blood glucose levels.
•Reduce your appetite, as it activates a neurotransmitter, a messenger between the gut and brain, to let you know you are no longer hungry and feel satisfied.
GLP-1 medications are synthetic, typically an injectable taken daily or weekly. It is released in response to food intake by mimicking how your GLP-1 hormone acts in your intestines and the messages sent to and from your brain.
What Does It Cost?
For most people, there is an out-of-pocket cost. These types of medications can cost from $10,400 to nearly $17,000 per month. Some patients may stay on the medication for one to three years. There are also some potential side effects, from stomach pain and nausea to vomiting and kidney or gallbladder problems, to name just a few.
Does It Work for Everyone?
The long-term results are a bit surprising:
•Ten percent of users seem to maintain weight loss after two or three years.
•Fifteen percent of those who tried one of the medications did not respond after one year.
• At one year, weight loss is about eight percent; at three years, it is down to about six percent.
•Thirty percent of those who used one of these medications stopped because they did not see the weight loss they expected—this includes people who suffered from the side effects.
• An altered gut microbiome can affect the efficacy.
• On average, patients regain two-thirds of their weight back, gaining it at a faster rate. There are multiple reasons for gaining weight back after stopping these medications, including:
•The medication dose is much higher than a naturally produced GLP-1 hormone.
• Medication masks the gut-brain dysregulation, so food cravings and appetite return.
•Regained weight is usually more fat and less muscle.
•Not adhering to lifestyle changes!
Luckily, There Is a Natural Approach
•Test your digestive tract—this is important for absorbing vitamins and minerals.
•Learn the foods you are intolerant to and those that are therapeutic for you—we call this “food that loves you back.”
• Metal toxins can impede your weight loss progress—those should be checked.
• Be committed to making lifestyle changes where necessary. This is a must—coaching keeps you motivated and moving forward.
•Food additive testing lets us select the supplements specifically for you.
• Specific supplements are selected that focus on stimulating (not mimicking) your body’s own production of the “un-hunger” hormone. Perhaps the best news? This testing only takes half an inch of hair! Benefits reported by users include reduced overall food cravings, weight loss, and maintenance, and enhanced natural GLP-1 production for diabetes and non-diabetes patients alike.

Have Pain? Don’t Have Pain? Robotic Muscle Therapy Is for Everyone!
By Theresa Edmunds, CHC
D“For ninetyfive percent of the population, hips are out of alignment, putting pressure on the lower back and pelvis. This is significant because the pelvis is the foundation for the torso and upper body.”
—Theresa
Edmunds, CHC
o you have pain and can’t find relief? Hidden muscle imbalances are the source of your pain, and almost no practitioner has investigated them. Don’t have pain but want to stay injury-free? Unidentified tight muscles are setting you up for injury. Chronic pain is an epidemic. Most people have some aches or pains. But what if you don’t have pain? You still benefit from releasing tight muscles that cause imbalances and can lead to potential injuries.
Most people aren’t aware that tight muscles put pressure on the skeletal structure. Muscles attach to bones and joints, and when muscles are chronically tight (which is the case for much of the population), they exert pressure on bones, joints, and nerves. As this happens, our posture changes, and not for the better.
Shoulder, Rotator Cuff, and Neck
These postural changes cause muscle imbalances, leading to muscle strains and tears. For example, rotator cuff issues—you don’t generally know you have any underlying issue until you strain or tear a rotator cuff muscle. That is because you aren’t aware that the muscles around the rotator cuff are chronically tight, putting pressure on the muscles that eventually give way.
The pectoral muscle is always involved in rotator cuff issues. Almost everyone has an anterior roll of the shoulders caused by the pectoral muscle, which connects the shoulder to the ribcage, being chronically tight.
This muscle becomes shortened because many of our regular activities involve using our arms directly in front of the body—driving, computer use, food preparation, and the like. As we overuse the pectoral muscle without using the opposing muscles on the
back of the body, the pectoral muscles get tight and shortened. This causes the shoulders to be pulled forward in an unnatural position.
The anterior roll of the shoulder also causes the trapezoid muscles to engage, leading to tension in the trapezoid and neck area. The trapezoids also cause a forward head posture, which is bad for the spine and can lead to headaches and cervical nerve impingement.
The pectoral muscles can affect the arms, elbows, and even the hands. This is often where carpal tunnel and numbness originate. Not only can it affect the muscles in and around the shoulder, but it can also cause joint dysfunction. As the muscles cause imbalance, the joint cannot move properly, eventually affecting the bones.
Back, Hips, and Legs
The other chronic misalignment that most people don’t realize they have is a pelvic tilt, which causes the upper body to be imbalanced.
For ninety-five percent of the population, hips are out of alignment, putting pressure on the lower back and pelvis. This is significant because the pelvis is the foundation for the torso and upper body. This imbalance will affect the hips, spine, and muscles of the back. It can also cause the muscles in the glutes and the legs to tighten and shorten. This can create knee and foot pain, including plantar fasciitis.
The muscle that causes this pelvic tilt is a little-known muscle called the psoas (the “p” is silent, pronounced “SO-AS”). This muscle connects along each side of the lower spine, winds around the hips, and connects to the top of the thigh. You have a right and a left psoas. It is the only muscle that connects the legs to the torso.
One psoas is almost always tighter than the other (usually your dominant side). This imbalance causes one side of your pelvis to tip forward, causing your hips to be out of alignment.
The psoas is one of the body’s largest and most important muscles, yet no one talks about it. Why? Probably because until now, there hasn’t been a way to affect change in this muscle.
Discover the Difference in Robotic Muscle Therapy
Most people who are in pain have tried many different therapies but haven’t found a solution. What makes robotic muscle therapy different?
With this technology, using vibration and gentle pressure, we can deeply relax the muscle in a way nothing else can. This allows the muscle to release the contraction that is causing it to be short and tight. With robotic muscle therapy, the muscle can lengthen back to its proper state, taking the pressure off the bones and joints. As the pressure is alleviated, posture improves, and muscle imbalances are corrected.
The two major muscles discussed in this article cause many of the problems people commonly face, but with twenty-six different placements, we can help with most types of pain. This technology can provide lasting, long-term pain relief (or pain solutions) without drugs, injections, or surgery.
If you don’t have pain but want to be proactive, one to three sessions can release tight muscles and correct imbalances, leaving you healthier and able to stay active without fear of injury. Our average client has been looking for solutions for eighteen months and has tried several treatments before finding us. Many of our clients get pain resolution, even though they have almost given up before trying robotic muscle therapy. The average client starts seeing results in three to five sessions.
Don’t wait any longer to get back into balance! Whether you have chronic pain or no pain, muscle imbalance takes a toll on your body. Why not feel the best you can and stay healthy?
We offer a complimentary consultation so clients can learn more about this revolutionary technology. We learn about your condition, and you discover whether this therapy can help you. You truly have nothing to lose— except your pain. Theresa Edmunds is a Certified Health Coach and co-owner of Naples Robotic Pain Relief. She is passionate about helping people feel better. BOOSTIETM: Clean, Sprouted Nutrition for Your Health
By Goldie Rose, MS
We“All our nuts, seeds, cacao nibs, and blueberries are grown on organic or regenerative farms. Regenerative farming is a step beyond organic— it rebuilds soil health and restores ecosystems, ensuring that what you eat is truly clean and pure.”
—Goldie Rose, MS
live in a time when it’s increasingly difficult to determine the origin of our food and uncover the hidden ingredients. The FDA doesn’t require all ingredients to be listed, leaving many loopholes. Just this morning, I watched a video from a reliable source explaining how fake organic foods have now entered the marketplace. If you’re a “clean” eater like me, you’ve probably wondered what is truly organic, non-GMO, and free from harmful additives.
But How Do You Know What to Buy, and from Whom?
In my quest to only eat “clean” food, I get up very early every Saturday morning to shop at the most revered farmers market in Houston, TX. With our favorable weather, farmers can grow fruits and vegetables year-round. Having maintained a large organic garden for seven years—fourteen growing seasons—I know which fruits and vegetables are in season and which aren’t. Yet, the busiest stands at this farmers market are selling perfect-looking produce that I know is not in season!
Looking into this further, I discovered that the revered farmers market is billed as “local and organic.” If the vendor buys any produce from anywhere, and the vendor’s business is registered in Texas, the farmers market allows them to sell it as “local.” Oh my!
This experience was a wake-up call, reinforcing my commitment to knowing exactly where my food comes from. I began chatting with the vendors, asking the right questions, and listening carefully. Through these conversations, I could distinguish who was genuinely committed to clean food.
How Can You Be Sure Your Food Is as Clean and Nutritious
as It Should Be?
That’s where BOOSTIE comes in.
BOOSTIE is a purposefully selected combination of ingredients (for their nutrient profile) from suppliers I’ve personally vetted. All of our nuts, seeds, cacao nibs, and blueberries are sourced from organic or regenerative farms. Regenerative farming is a step beyond organic—it rebuilds soil health and restores ecosystems, ensuring that what you eat is truly clean and pure.
But offering clean ingredients isn’t enough. The true power of BOOSTIE lies in its sprouted nuts and seeds.
Why Sprouted Nuts and Seeds Matter to You
Regular nuts and seeds are often considered healthy, but there’s more to the story. Nonsprouted nuts and seeds contain phytic acid and lectins, which can block the absorption of essential nutrients and can even cause inflammation. To unlock their full nutritional potential, nuts and seeds need to be sprouted (or activated).
In the sprouting process, the nuts and seeds are soaked in clean water and then gently air-dried, which removes the phytic acid and lectins, making the nutrients more bioavailable and easier for your body to absorb.
With BOOSTIE, you’re not just getting clean food—you’re getting superior nutrition. Each one-ounce package is a balanced meal, providing you with protein, fiber, vitamins (including antioxidants), micro-nutrients, minerals, omega-3s, amino acids, and electrolytes—all in a form your
body can fully utilize. Whether you’re looking to support heart health, boost your immunity, reduce inflammation, or simply stay energized, BOOSTIE is designed with your health in mind.
The Power of BOOSTIETM:
What the Community Says BOOSTIE is a complete meal that, when eaten five to seven times a week as a meal or snack, has many health benefits. BOOSTIE supports heart health, lowers blood pressure and cholesterol, helps with weight loss, boosts immunity, reduces inflammation, and helps hydrate your cells and organs.
Yes, these are a lot of claims, and our government won’t spend money on food studies. I have to rely on the testimonials from the BOOSTIETM community:
• “BOOSTIE has eliminated my need for over-thecounter pain meds. My joints no longer hurt.”
• “BOOSTIE has become my go-to snack. It’s convenient and delicious, and I love that it’s packed with nutrients that my body can actually absorb.
I’ve been eating it regularly, and I’ve seen a positive impact on my skin clarity and digestion.”
• “BOOSTIE has lowered my LDL by 40 points. My cardiologist was impressed.”
• “Since I started to enjoy BOOSTIE, I haven’t even gotten a sniffle.”
• “BOOSTIE really fills me up. It’s amazing, considering it’s only one ounce of food.”
If you’re looking for a convenient and trustworthy way to eat healthfully, I invite you to email or call me to discuss good health or try BOOSTIE. Experience the difference that clean, sprouted nuts and seeds can make in your well-being.
Oh, and a final important note: BOOSTIE isn’t just about nutrition—it’s about enjoyment! With a satisfying crunch and delicious taste, you will enjoy every bite of your BOOSTIE treat. I am excited to offer BOOSTIE—a one-of-a-kind food.
Goldie Rose holds an MS in Special Education/Learning Disabilities. When struck by premenopausal breast cancer thirty-one years ago, she started on a journey of getting and staying healthy.
To her, being healthy means no diseases, no prescriptions, no over-the-counter meds, and zero pain. Her journey led her to a personal food plan that included clean and incredibly nutrient-dense food—her great state of health interested family and friends. BOOSTIE™ is an essential food in her anti-inflammatory daily eating program, and she began packing it, by request, for her family and friends. Desiring good health for all, her company was born. Magnesium Can Change Your Life
By Lynn Brewer, Owner of Cloud9 Float Spa
“Magnesium deficiency has also been implicated in diseases of cognitive function, such as Alzheimer’s disease, as well as serious mental health problems, such as depression, anxiety, and ADHD.”
—Lynn Brewer
This may seem like a strange statement, but it is so very true: Magnesium can change your life!
One of the most crucial nutrients for mental health is the humble mineral magnesium. Magnesium is involved in over three hundred actions in the human body, many of which are brain-related, making it a true “rock star” of optimal mental health.
Unfortunately, most Americans now suffer from magnesium deficiency due to the inferior nutritional status of our soil caused by factory farming and the standard American diet, which consists mainly of processed foods that are void of many vitamins and minerals. This perfect storm puts millions of people, particularly children, who tend to avoid foods that are high in magnesium, at risk of developing magnesium deficiency and mental distress.
Inadequate levels of magnesium correlate with numerous health problems such as heart disease, diabetes, and neuromuscular diseases such as chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. Magnesium deficiency has also been implicated in diseases of cognitive function, such as Alzheimer’s disease, as well as serious mental health problems, such as depression, anxiety, and ADHD. In fact, in one alarming report, magnesium deficiency was found in ninety-five percent of the children with ADHD who were tested for the study.
As alarming as these statistics are, there is some good news: increased intake of magnesium by ingestion and floating has been shown in clinical
studies to decrease symptoms of mental distress in both children and adults.
Magnesium has neuroprotective effects:
•It helps maintain proper levels of magnesium, which supports brain health.
•Low magnesium is linked to a risk of neurological and psychiatric disorders.
• Magnesium regulates calcium homeostasis, modulates NMDA receptors, and supports neurotransmissions, making it a promising aid in treating neurological disorders.
Understanding Magnesium and Anxiety, Depression, and Other Mental Health Issues
Magnesium plays a crucial role in nerve function, mood regulation, and stress response within the body. It’s involved in over three hundred enzymatic reactions, making it indispensable for overall health. Research suggests that magnesium deficiency may contribute to anxiety symptoms, as this mineral influences neurotransmitter pathways and hormone regulation linked to stress.
Here’s what the evidence from scientific research says:
•Studies have found correlations between low magnesium levels and increased anxiety symptoms. A systematic review published in the scientific journal Nutrients in 2017 highlighted that magnesium supplementation can improve subjective anxiety measures in vulnerable populations.
• Another study from Nutrients in 2020 states that magnesium is essential “in many functions within the central nervous system, including transmission and intracellular signal transduction. Several studies have shown its usefulness in neurological and psychiatric diseases. Furthermore, it seems that magnesium levels are lowered in the course of several mental disorders, especially depression.”
• Magnesium regulates the hypothalamicpituitary-adrenal axis, which controls the body’s response to stress. By modulating cortisol levels and enhancing gammaaminobutyric acid (GABA) activity—a neurotransmitter that promotes relaxation— magnesium may exert anxiolytic (anxiety-reducing) effects.
How to Incorporate Magnesium
• Dietary Sources: Incorporate magnesium-rich foods such as leafy greens, nuts, seeds, and whole grains into your diet
• Floating: Floating introduces a large amount of magnesium to your body, which is utilized both physically and mentally. Studies have shown that a one-hour floating session can provide the body with the same amount or greater than infusion. For typically healthy people, a float twice a month can significantly increase their health. Those with diagnosed ailments usually see a large difference by starting to float once a week and then switching to twice a month when their magnesium level improves.
While magnesium shows promise as a supportive therapy for all autoimmune diseases along with anxiety and related situations, it’s essential to approach its use with informed guidance and awareness of individual needs.

One Simple Tip to Help Avoid Shoulder Surgery
By Dr. Jake Berman, PT, DPT
“In relation to biomechanics and how your shoulder is supposed to work efficiently, even the slightest rounding or forward tilt of your shoulders will increase the strain on certain muscles, making you much more prone to inflammation and, ultimately, shoulder pain.”
— Dr. Jake Berman, PT, DPT
Shoulder pain can be one of the most excruciating and debilitating upper body pains you can experience. It has been described as a sharp, stabbing pain that can drop you to your knees and, at other times, be an annoying dull ache that just won’t go away. Most of the time, people experience shoulder pain when doing overhead reaching tasks or even simple things such as tucking in their shirts. However, when it gets bad, it will start to interfere with your sleep, and that’s usually the tipping point for most people to seek out help. The problem is that most people tend to associate shoulder pain with rotator cuff tears and, ultimately, surgery, so it’s not uncommon for people to try to live with it for as long as possible, not knowing how simple it can be to resolve some shoulder pain (notice I said simple—not easy!).
The truth is that it’s quite common to have a rotator cuff tear as you age, and most of the time, it is not problematic. The reason for this is that the rotator cuff is composed of four tiny muscles, and there are at least (depending on who you ask) fourteen other, bigger muscles that help move your shoulder. Because of this, it’s actually very rare that your shoulder pain is directly caused by a rotator cuff tear. With that said, though, I must clarify that I am referring specifically to nontraumatic insidious onset shoulder pain. That means that there was no associated injury—your shoulder just started hurting for no obvious reason one day.
Is Posture the Problem?
What I’ve found in my clinic and throughout my career is that ninety-nine percent of nontraumatic shoulder pain is due to impingement syndrome, which essentially means something soft (muscle, tendon, ligament) is getting pinched between two bones (humeral head and your acromion). A quick Google search will give you a simple, clear picture. Also, ninety-nine percent of the time, impingement syndrome is caused by posture imbalance, with the shoulders rounding/ tilting more forward than neutral. Now, I know that some of you who have shoulder pain are thinking, “My posture isn’t bad,” and it may not be compared to what the general population might consider “bad posture.” However, in relation to biomechanics and how your shoulder is supposed to work efficiently, even the slightest rounding or forward tilt of your shoulders will increase the strain on certain muscles, making you much more prone to inflammation and, ultimately, shoulder pain.
Here’s a super easy way to help you decide if your posture may be the true root cause of your shoulder pain. Do you typically sit more than you stand throughout the day? If so, it is highly likely that your posture is at least a little off because it’s nearly impossible to maintain good, neutral posture in any comfortable chair on the market these days. Take me, for example; as I sit here
writing this article, I’m sitting on the edge of a hard-surfaced chair, which forces me to use my posture muscles to remain upright, maintaining as close to neutral shoulders as possible. Of course, I don’t always sit like this; however, when I know I’ll be sitting for more than twenty minutes, I try my best to use the hard-surfaced chair to simply give me a better chance at maintaining decent posture and avoiding shoulder pain.
The Two-Finger Drill
Now that you have some background knowledge of shoulder pain and its root cause, let’s go over the simplest and most effective way to ease shoulder pain and ultimately avoid shoulder surgery! I call it the “two-finger drill.” Simply take the pointer finger on your right hand and place it right in the middle of your chest, then take the pointer finger on your left hand and poke it right in your belly button. Now, suck your belly button in as hard as you can toward your spine as if you’re putting on a super tight pair of pants, and keep breathing as you hold your belly button in. Then, use the muscles in your middle back area (not lower back) to lift your chest up toward the sky. This will allow your shoulder to sit more neutral and allow those fourteen bigger muscles mentioned earlier to work more effectively. This, in turn, will improve the natural biomechanics of your shoulder, allowing the right muscles to control the correct motion and help you avoid those impinging pains. The key to this is to work toward getting into the position the two-finger drill promotes as much as possible throughout the day. The more often you get there, the more likely it is that you’ll be able to avoid surgery. Drip Your Way to Longevity and Better Health
By Lori Hubbard, MA
While many people take vitamins and supplements regularly to maintain or improve their health, another form of vitamin therapy is growing in popularity—IV vitamin therapy, which offers people a way to inject extra vitamins and hydration directly into their bloodstream.
A healthy body is a result of healthy cells, which require a balance of necessary macro- and micronutrients. Maintaining a healthy diet is a great way to get these nutrients; however, even with a near perfect diet, it can still be difficult to get everything the body needs. Getting the necessary micronutrients is made easier through the process of IV infusion.
IV vitamin therapy can ensure the cells obtain nearly 100% of the nutrients that are provided versus only about 30% of nutrients that might be absorbed through oral supplementation. Providing the cells with the nutritional “fuel” through IV therapy provides a much faster boost of energy, a more robust immune response, easier recovery from stresses on the body, and a slowing down of the aging process.
I recently had a chance to speak with Nick and Dave, co-owners of The DRIPBaR in Naples, to learn a little about their process and what sets them apart from other IV therapy options.
What Is IV Vitamin Therapy?
Vitamin intravenous (IV) therapy infuses vitamins and minerals directly into the bloodstream. It can also offer the body some extra hydration.
Intravenous (IV) drip therapy, also known as IV therapy, is a procedure that delivers fluids, medication, or nutrients directly into a patient's bloodstream through a vein using a small plastic tube or catheter. The catheter is connected to a bag of fluid that contains vitamins and other substances. The IV bypasses the digestive tract, allowing the body to receive essential nutrients and fluids quickly and efficiently.
A downside of this process is that most IV vitamin therapy treatments use premixed solutions, so customers don’t see what is going into their infusion. Additionally, their facilities may not be required to maintain the highest health standards, making the cleanliness and safety of these treatments a considerable unknown for potential clients.
“Every once in a while a new business opens up in Naples that goes beyond my expectations in terms of customer service and aesthetic. DRIPBaR is one of them. They have a full-blown menu with a a variety of injections and IV drips to choose from. They also have an infrared sauna with breathing salts where you can relax for 20 minutes and rejuvenate. Modern atmosphere with a lovely staff that is deserving of your business. I had the B12 injection but will definitely try an IV next time I go.”
“I've had several IVs in the past and never really felt a drastic difference afterward. The morning after my IV at DRIPBaR Naples I feel better than I've felt in years! I honestly didn't expect to feel this great. Must be attributed to the quality of ingredients and the on-the-spot mix they do. The owner is super friendly, too. Do something great for yourself and give DRIPBaR Naples a try!”
“The people at The DRIPBaR take health and wellness very seriously because they know that quality care demands adherence to the highest safety standards. They follow strict safety protocols, with a medical director overseeing the compounds to ensure their efficacy and safety.”
—Lori Hubbard, MA
The DRIPBaR Is Different
The people at The DRIPBaR take health and wellness very seriously because they know that quality care demands adherence to the highest safety standards. They follow strict safety protocols, with a medical director overseeing the compounds to ensure their efficacy and safety. Their high safety standards provide peace of mind and ensure that all treatments and facilities are free of microbial contaminants.
Most other IV therapy facilities mix their infusion compounds in open-air, non-sterile environments. The DRIPBaR prioritizes ensuring their environment is safe and sterile, from the facility and equipment to monitoring and maintaining optimal temperature and humidity levels. They understand the importance of a safe, sterile environment to their clients’ health and well-being, so they work hard and test regularly to maintain their USP 797 compliance standards.
Not only does the DRIPBaR set the bar high for its facilities, but also for its staff and customer care. They hire registered nurses to administer your IV, and they are gowned up and fully sterilized, so you can take comfort in knowing you’re in a clean, safe environment.
Additionally, other IV therapy facilities' infusions are premixed, so consumers don’t see what is going into their infusion. At the DRIPBaR, your infusions are mixed fresh right in front of you, so you know exactly what is going into your drip. Not only that, but the vitamin content of their drips is more robust than those offered by other facilities.
Each of these factors significantly impacts IV therapy care. The DRIPBaR’s sterile environment, along with its freshly mixed compounds, helps ensure optimal health and well-being.
Benefits of IV Drip Therapy
Because the IV fluids bypass the digestive system, you can feel the effects of the nutrients faster than if you took an oral supplement.
Vitamin IV therapy can also help people with digestive conditions absorb the nutrients they need to live a full and healthy life.
Other benefits of IV therapy include:
• Feeding Cells More E ciently: Intravenous nutrients enter straight into the bloodstream instead of the much slower digestive tract.
• Supporting Organs and Functional Systems: Optimal nutrient absorption allows organs and drainage pathways to function at a peak level.
• Strengthening Immune System: Intravenous antioxidants and nutrients are fully absorbed into the cells to boost the immune system.
• Neutralizing Harmful Free Radicals: Antioxidants provided in drips help the body fight disease and injury by binding to free radicals.
Health Drips
The DRIPBaR offers four IV health support infusions, all of which require a consultation with a medical provider. These health drips include their High C, Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA), Heavy Metal Detox, and NAD+ options.
• High C: Super doses of vitamin C have been shown to kill cancer cells and alleviate some of the side effects of chemotherapy. In addition to helping those fighting cancer, monthly doses of vitamin C can also help prevent cancer from returning for those in remission. The DRIPBaR recommends their High-C drip as a supplemental and complementary treatment to traditional cancer treatment protocols. There is a growing body of research that shows that high doses of intravenous vitamin C are a safe and effective treatment for cancer. Their medical providers can discuss the best dosage for you. This treatment requires a consultation and lab work.
• Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA): There’s a lot to love about ALA, an antioxidant present in every cell of our bodies. The ALA drips at The DRIPBaR are recommended for those fighting cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, and chronic liver disease. ALA has also been shown to be effective in reducing neuropathy. Their ALA drip is available in three different strengths and may require lab work prior to treatment.
• Heavy Metal Detox: This drip can detox heavy metals from your body with powerful antioxidants and prevent damage to your body and brain from environmental toxins. At the same time, it fulfills common nutritional deficiencies.
• NAD+: As discovered by Nobel winners, preserving mitochondria is one of the best ways to delay aging. Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD) is essential for healthy mitochondrial function, youthful energy, and good health. NAD is found in all living cells and is responsible for producing energy. If the mitochondria aren’t working properly, they— and you—will lack energy. NAD is a critical component of mitochondrial health, and as NAD levels decline as we age, it can contribute to the aging process itself.
Lifestyle Drips
DRIPBaR’s IV lifestyle drips are divided into four categories: energy, anti-aging, immunity, and recovery. Each lifestyle drip is designed to deliver the perfect balance of vitamins and nutrients to help your body perform at its best.
• Energy IV Drips: These drips are designed for anyone looking to increase their energy and get a leg up on the day. They offer brain and cellular benefits that include a high dose of vitamin C, B vitamins, L-arginine, Tri-amino, antioxidants, and micronutrients. These drips will also replace magnesium, which can be lost through sweat.
• Anti-Aging IV Drips: If you’re looking to prevent or reverse the signs of aging, focusing on what you put in your body is just as important, if not more so, than what you put on it. The DRIPBaR’s anti-aging Time Machine drip pulls out lead and other toxic metals while flooding your body with vitamins to support healthy organs. Another IV drip, the Firm, contains high doses of vitamin C, B vitamins, and biotin, which support healthy hair, skin, and nails.
• Immunity IV Drips: Your immune system works hard to keep you healthy and feeling your best, but try as it might, it can’t keep out all viruses and illnesses. The immunity IV drips at DRIPBaR are designed to help boost your immune system to minimize the risk of illness. These drips are perfect for fighting off colds, sinus infections, bronchitis, and other infections caused by viruses. These drips may also help prevent stress-induced viral illnesses such as cold sores, shingles, herpes, and more.
• Recovery IV Drips: The recovery IV drips provide aid to tense muscles as well as tense minds. This drip combines high doses of vitamins and magnesium to provide support to your cells and reduce muscle pain, spasms, headaches, and anxiety symptoms. They also offer B vitamins, zinc, vitamin C, and other micronutrients to support mental health. The recovery IV drips are also great for those looking to rehydrate or minimize the effects of alcohol consumption, long-distance traveling, or a poor night’s rest.
“Because the IV fluids bypass the digestive system, you can feel the effects of the nutrients faster than if you took an oral supplement. Vitamin IV therapy can also help people with digestive conditions absorb the nutrients they need to live a full and healthy life.”
—Lori Hubbard, MA

Weight Loss Programs
Semaglutide and Tirzepatide for Weight Loss—A Breakthrough in Weight Loss Treatment
Semaglutide and tirzepatide are prescriptive weight loss support peptide medications that work by mimicking the action of a hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), which plays a role in regulating appetite. By activating GLP-1 receptors in the brain, semaglutide and
tirzepatide help reduce feelings of hunger and promote a sense of fullness, leading to reduced food intake.
Benefits of this peptide therapy include:
• Significant Weight Reduction: Clinical trials have demonstrated substantial weight loss in individuals compared to those on a placebo.
• Improved Metabolic Health: In addition to weight loss, semaglutide and tirzepatide can improve other metabolic factors, such as reduced waist circumference.
• Sustainable Results: The effects on weight loss are sustainable, making these peptide therapies promising options for long-term weight management.
As with any health therapy, it is important to ensure the safe use of semaglutide and tirzepatide. Some of the safety guidelines The DRIPBaR uses are:
• Dosage and Administration: Your Drip Specialist will determine the dosage, which is administered weekly.
• Possible Side E ects: While generally well-tolerated, some individuals might experience mild side effects such as nausea or diarrhea. Inform your healthcare provider if these symptoms persist.
• Precautions: It’s critical that you disclose your complete medical history, current medications, or any allergies to your Drip Specialist before starting this therapy. Prior lab work is required for peptide weight loss therapy. Semaglutide and tirzepatide are intended for those with a BMI of 27 or greater. During the twelve-to-sixteen-week program, weekly visits are required. These visits include monitoring blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature; weigh-in and BMI analysis; and your weekly dose injection. Before starting, your Drip Specialist will meet with you to discuss your weight loss goals, medical history, and any existing conditions to determine if peptide therapy is suitable for you.
Metabolize Drips Used for Weight Loss

Arecent study showed that 82% of Americans lack a written plan for retirement. Whether you are nearing retirement or already retired, putting a plan in place to help ensure you will have income throughout your life is critical.
With better health care and nutrition, Americans are living longer than ever, so you may spend 20 or 30 years in retirement. Two or three decades without a regular paycheck means that you must make the assets you have saved—along with Social Security and any pensions you may have—create the income you need through retirement.
Successful retirement planning begins with understanding. Our financial professionals can help you develop a comprehensive retirement income strategy that addresses:
• the risk factors impacting your retirement
• the importance of income diversification and planning
Understanding Retirement Risk Factors
With retirement comes a change in your financial management and your life. This is a time when living without employment means your income will come from various retirement sources such as savings, social security, and pensions. It is important to have a plan that considers certain risks that may threaten your retirement security. The key is to acknowledge the risks to your retirement income and develop a plan that helps manage them.
Longevity and Health Care Costs
Longevity is a critical factor impacting retirees today. While none of us can predict how long we will live, individuals at age 65 have a high probability of spending 20 years or more in retirement. Ensuring your assets last throughout retirement requires careful planning now to determine how inflation, rising health care costs, nursing home care, and other vital factors may affect your income over time.
Are You Confident That Your Savings Will Last a Lifetime?
Obviously, your longevity is unknown, but creating a suitable investment plan can help provide the income you need to live your retirement in the style you choose—for 10, 20, 30 years, or more. Consider these average life expectancies shown in the table above.
Inflation and Rising Costs
As life spans increase, many people will spend more time in retirement than they spend working. The longer your time in retirement, the greater the potential that inflation may erode your savings and impact your lifestyle. This makes it important for you and your financial professional to develop an income strategy to help outpace inflation. Many basic living expenses have increased dramatically in the past two decades. Furthermore, steadily rising healthcare costs represent a particular risk for retired Americans—especially as we live longer, more active lives.
Market Volatility
Today’s financial markets have become increasingly volatile and complex, leaving many people wondering when they will be able to retire and how long their retirement assets will last. A sudden market downturn can significantly impact investors who are not well-diversified or do not have the time frame to wait out a market recovery.
How Exposed Are Your Retirement Assets to the Markets?
As shown in the graph on the right, if a large percentage of your retirement portfolio was in the market in 2008 (point A), it may have dropped substantially in value (point B). Based on the S&P 500 year-end returns for 2008, a $100,000 investment portfolio value would have dropped to $61,500. If you were fortunate to have assets in the market in 2003 (point C), your $100,000 would have risen to $126,400 based on the S&P 500 year-end returns for 2003 (point D). While market volatility can generate positive long-term rewards over time, it can also have a negative impact on investment portfolios during shorter time frames.
Understanding Your Retirement Needs
For many years, you may have pursued an investment strategy emphasizing growth to help build retirement assets. However, once retired, your income will likely need to outweigh your need to accumulate new assets. This makes it critical to re-evaluate your risk tolerance and preferences to help ensure that both your investment strategy and spending plan are aligned with your retirement lifestyle needs and goals.
How Long Will Your Income Last?
For most individuals, an essential part of retirement income planning is determining an appropriate withdrawal or spending strategy. What is the appropriate withdrawal rate for you—4%? 5%? 6%? By establishing a withdrawal rate that’s too high, you could potentially outlive your money. As the graphic on the following page shows, the rate at which you withdraw from your retirement savings is a central factor in the sustainability of your retirement portfolio.
Finding the Right Balance
Ensuring you will have the income you need at and throughout retirement is a balancing act, with savings on one side and your income needs and associated risks on the other. Achieving the
right balance to ensure your income needs are met throughout retirement requires a comprehensive retirement income plan and strategies that holistically address:
•risk factors that threaten to undermine your plans (longevity, inflation, market volatility, withdrawal rates)
•your personal goals and tolerance for risk
•how you will protect and grow income in retirement
•priorities and trade-offs that may help you better manage your income needs and spending
Strategies to Help You Retire with Confidence
Working with you to develop your retirement income plan begins with mapping out specific strategies addressing your needs, concerns, and timeline. Using income modeling tools, our financial professionals will work with you to evaluate retirement income scenarios and potential tradeoffs. Only then can a fully diversified retirement income strategy be designed that is compatible with your situation.

Income Strategies with Your Retirement in Mind
Asset allocation and diversification are essential components during your years of saving for retirement. How you allocate your assets across various asset classes during this accumulation phase can have a profound impact on the savings you have upon entering retirement. However, once in retirement, the focus will likely be to include an allocation designed to meet specific income objectives, including asset protection, growth, and guaranteed income. To help meet these objectives, consider the three elements of a retirement income strategy:
1. Stable Income: Provides stable income with principal preservation to help protect against market volatility.
2. Investment category: Bond and fixed-income investments
3. Guaranteed Income:
Provides guaranteed income to help protect against outliving your assets.
4. Investment category: Insurance and annuity products
5. Growing Income:
Provides growth and income to help offset inflation. Subject to market volatility.
6. Investment category: Equity income investments such as stocks

One Simple Tip to Instantly Improve Your Golf Swing
“If you don’t have a 100% reproducible speed swing, adding speed will only result in more inconsistency in what the ball does. If you’re a golfer, you know exactly what I’m talking about. It’s always that one shot when you were so relaxed and almost didn’t really care what the result was going to be that you absolutely smoked!”
—Dr. Jake Berman, PT, DPT
By Dr. Jake Berman, PT, DPT
With all the noise out there in the world of golf, it can be extremely difficult to know who to trust and what information you should be listening to—especially if you’re a golfer over the age of 50 and you’re watching some technique drill that only a 20-year-old could do!
As golfers age, many find themselves facing new challenges on the course, particularly when it comes to maintaining a powerful and consistent swing. However, reaching the milestone of 50 doesn’t mean the end of your golfing aspirations. In fact, this can be the perfect time to refine your technique, embrace a more strategic approach, and enhance your overall enjoyment of the game. The right mindset and targeted exercises can help you adapt your swing, boost your confidence, and continue enjoying the sport you love.
I am a firm believer that ninety percent of the advice out there is great—if you already have solid technical knowledge and the physical ability to execute the technique. There is a big difference between understanding a technique and being able to physically perform it.
Hint: It’s Not About More Strength or Speed
This is where things started to make sense for me regarding the golf swing. When I first got into this world of golf performance, I initially thought
it was all about speed. I thought this because the PGA of America says that for every MPH club head, the speed increases, which should result in 2.8 more yards of carry. I work primarily with aging golfers who have lost distance in their drives, so that was a very attractive concept. Now, the speed concept may be true for those physically and mentally gifted enough to pull it off; however, for the overwhelming majority of us amateur golfers, speed is more likely to hurt our swing than help it. If you don’t have a 100% reproducible speed swing, adding speed will only increase the variance and result in more inconsistency in what the ball does. If you’re a golfer, you know exactly what I’m talking about. It’s always that one shot when you were so relaxed and almost didn’t really care what the result was going to be that you absolutely smoked! It might have even been the best ball contact, shot shape, and total distance of your round, which usually makes you even more frustrated because you “didn’t even swing hard.”
That’s Right: Slow Down!
I wondered what might happen if I asked my clients to swing slower, specifically in the backswing. My rationale was that you are more likely to maintain control of your swing when you’re moving slower into the transition from backswing to downswing, which should result in
a more consistent swing overall. Lo and behold, my clients were starting to see an average of 10 more yards carry while only gaining one more MPH clubhead speed!
Obviously, this doesn’t make any sense at all if you use the equation mentioned above, so the only way I could explain this using the laws of physics is that because more muscles were being used to deliver the club head to the golf ball, more power was being transferred into the golf ball, resulting in longer ball flight. And because my clients were now using more muscles as opposed to momentum to swing the club, their ball contact was getting better and more consistent. These two combined were helping my clients get significantly more carry without trying to swing any faster.
So, the simple tip is this: The slower you go into the backswing, the farther the ball will go.
Think it sounds too simple? Then let me end with this: Over all the years and thousands of clients I’ve worked with, both locally in my brick-and-mortar locations and around the world in a virtual setting, I’ve never worked with anybody who needed to speed up their backswing! I can also honestly tell you that as you get older, too fast of a backswing will exponentially hurt your ball contact. So trust me on this one, and just give it a try.
Here’s one of my favorite tricks to slow down your backswing: say your first name and middle name out loud—that should be how long it takes you to get to the top of your backswing. Then, yell out your last name to initiate the downswing. What most of you will find is that you’ll be long into your downswing before you ever start saying your last name, which will be clear proof that you need to slow down your backswing.

Can Mouth Breathing Really Be Harmful?
“When
the oxygen drops, our brains shift into survival mode (sympathetic gear) and order our bodies to work hard at getting precious oxygen in. No wonder kids are exhausted today—sleep is meant to reboot and refresh everything, but instead, their bodies are working overtime just to get the air they need.”
—Dr. Josephine Perez, DMD
By Dr. Josephine Perez, DMD
Afunny thing happened the other day—my husband and I attended a band and orchestra performance at our teenager’s high school, and as I watched these beautiful teenagers march into formations as they played their instruments to inspiring music, I was so proud, and these kids were clearly having fun. But one thing kept distracting me. Originally trained as a ballet dancer, I had learned long ago that posture is everything! As I panned out to the entire group, I noticed that “forward head” position everywhere I looked. As each section took its breather, I noticed the long faces and open mouths. Those kids were mouth breathers!
You see, mouth breathing starves the brain and the heart. Breathing through your nose floods the lungs with precious nitric oxide, which, among other things, relaxes your blood vessels. We are losing our ability to breathe properly, and most people don’t even notice it. Honestly, most people don’t even think about it.
What’s so wrong with mouth breathing, though? A small amount of mouth breathing is normal if you have a cold or during strenuous exercise. But when we are at rest, there are several reasons mouth breathing is bad for us—most importantly, it is a symptom of lack of oxygen, also known as airway issues. It is a major sign the body is not getting enough oxygen.
Every Breath You Take
Anthropologists are telling us that the human skull is getting smaller and narrower, teeth are coming in more crooked than thirty or forty years ago, asthma and allergies are at an all-time high, and teeth grinding is rampant—not to mention the high blood pressure, autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, concentration issues, and overall school performance issues that are related to our shrinking skulls and elongated faces causing airway issues and ultimately affecting our nutrition.
Studies show that 90% of the population has an inadequate airway. Why? Because the jaws are not growing adequately. Our faces are growing longer, our teeth and tongues don’t fit properly in our mouths, our tonsils are huge, ear infections are on the rise, and so on. It’s a hard conversation to have when I see kids with underdeveloped jaws swallowing incorrectly and chewing incorrectly—all essentially because we are breathing incorrectly.
Time for a Rebuild
In the forward head posture, the jaws are not growing anteriorly and horizontally, and the tongue is pushed backward. Oxygen, therefore, has a limited and constricted space to go through on its way to the lungs, so the head tips forward to bring the tongue forward so we can breathe. This also happens when the palates are vaulted and take up the space that was intended for the sinuses. Meanwhile, when the oxygen drops, our brains shift into survival mode (sympathetic gear) and order our bodies to work hard at getting precious oxygen in. No wonder kids are exhausted today—sleep is meant to reboot and refresh everything, but instead, their bodies are working overtime just to get the air they need.
The good news is we do have the genes to correct this, they just haven’t been expressed—or have been turned off, so to speak. Every cell in our bodies is in constant communication with the rest of the body, so just one small change in nutrition or mechanics can flip a switch in our DNA. We now know that it takes four generations to have a change in our DNA, and currently (and perhaps alarmingly), most of us are in the third generation. Since the early 2000s, technology has helped us understand genes and DNA further, so for most of us, through early interventions, small changes in nutrition, and learning to breathe through the nose—along with myofunctional exercises and maybe certain appliances—we can flip our good genes back on.
Biological Dentistry May Be Your Solution
Biological dentists perform the same treatments conventional dentists do; for instance, we numb patients, restore teeth, take radiographs, and follow infection control standards. By
maintaining optimal dental health holistically, a biological dentist aims to improve whole-body well-being and longevity. We use the least toxic approach in the world of dentistry and supplement it with all-natural and pure alternatives while maintaining the highest standards. This is biological dentistry.
Dentists have historically been taught that all aspects of dentistry are safe, and any toxicity is downplayed. We were even taught that fluoride is a vitamin! However, biological dentists believe that many conventional dental materials are toxic— mercury, fluoride, BPA, and Bis-GMA top the list.
At Pure Dental, we work to eliminate toxic materials from our environment, and if we must deal with them, we work hard to control, minimize, and eliminate the exposures to ourselves and our patients. The office has specialized air purifying systems running 24/7; ozonated water is made fresh every day and runs through all our dental equipment and water lines, state-of-the-art technology, and supplements to mitigate ionizing radiation. We provide a green, natural, and healthy approach to dentistry that is tailored to the individual and offer organic, non-GMO products for sanitizing and moisturizing, including essential and ozonated medical-grade oils. Because we want to treat the whole you, safely and holistically. Biological dentists are trained to see these symptoms and possibly help and/or guide with early intervention. Here’s the thing: once I see it, I cannot unsee it. The earlier you start, the better the outcome. We can prevent a number of adult malaises, including hypertension, sleep apneas, and autoimmune disorders, that some physicians will just dismiss as the “you-are-getting-older” rule. The literature teaches us that there’s even a connection between snoring/mouth breathing and serious diseases such as heart disease, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease. I simply will not dismiss these symptoms because we can correct mouth-breathing habits today. For now, I will close my eyes and open my ears to Brahms, Sousa, Williams, and Stravinsky as these beautiful high schoolers transport me to my ballet days.

Comfort—with a Splash of Bourbon— at the Chateau Bourbon Luxury B&B in Louisville
By Dr. Diane Hayden, PhD
The first thing I saw walking into my suite at Chateau Bourbon Luxury B&B was a pillow inscribed with the quote, “I dream of shiplap walls, chippy paint, subway tile, farmhouse sinks, and barn doors.” I grew up in Avon, Connecticut, when it was more farms than box stores, and back then, I couldn’t wait to get to the big city. But little by little, I’m realizing that that I do dream of shiplap walls and farmhouse sinks! Don’t get me wrong, I still love the energy of cities—but after a few days, I’ve had my fill.
Chateau Bourbon Luxury B&B has the best of both worlds. It’s the perfect choice for travelers seeking upscale accommodations in a downhome atmosphere. Located in the heart of Norton Commons, Louisville’s most unique and vibrant walkable community, you can “park and walk” during your stay with everything you need just beyond their doorstep. It’s an actual thing called New Urbanism. And just 10 miles from downtown Louisville, you’re only minutes from everything the big city has to offer.
Owners Missy and John Hillock designed and constructed the bed and breakfast with every comfort and convenience in mind. After years of traveling, the couple knew exactly what they wanted to create. Taking standards from traditional five-star hotels, the unique accommodations and personal touches added by proprietors and innkeepers Missy and John Hillock have created an unforgettable guest experience. It doesn’t hurt that Missy loves to cook and decorate, and John is a fantastic handyman, so their passions and
skills are ideal for owning and running a bed and breakfast. Missy and John both exude genuine hospitality, impeccable attention to detail, and down-home Southern charm. They’re people you immediately want to be friends with. They show you what southern hospitality is all about, from their amazing breakfasts to the evening bourbon cocktail hour—but more on that later.
Accommodations
Chateau Bourbon is a 100% chemical-free and allergen-free property. They use all-natural, ecofriendly cleaning mixtures primarily consisting of water and ingredients such as vinegar and baking soda. I was interested to learn that they use Norwex cleaning products throughout the inn. The global mission of Norwex is to “improve quality of life by radically reducing the number of chemicals in the home.”
We stayed in the Angel’s Share suite—a magnificent second-floor suite featuring a king-sized bed, spacious sitting area, soaking tub, oversized tiled rain shower (seriously, you could have a party in there), deluxe linens, towels, and spa robes. In addition, there’s a cozy, private balcony overlooking the town center of Norton Commons. Each suite is individually zoned for air conditioning and heat, so you can set the temperature to your comfort level. They’ve even added a guest pantry with complimentary snacks, and a fridge, microwave, ice maker, and glassware. Six porches and patios allow guests to access the outdoors from nearly any room at the inn, including each of the guest suites
Let’s Eat (and Drink)!
But let’s get to the food! I hope you’re hungry because their three-course southern breakfast is sure to get your day off to a fantastic start. Using only the freshest, high-quality ingredients, many of which are produced locally in Kentucky, everything is prepared from scratch. Who says you can’t drink your bourbon and eat it too? I loved how Missy incorporated bourbon into many of the house specialty dishes, from homemade bourbon granola to bourbon caramel sauce to bourbon-infused sweet dishes.
Our first course was their signature Bourbon granola, served with a choice of yogurt, milk, or almond milk and topped with drunken cherries. The second course was egg cups in thinly sliced prosciutto over grits with fresh melon. The third course was French toast with bananas and drizzled with caramel and butter-bourbon maple syrup. It sounds like a lot of food—but I was pleasantly surprised to see that the portions were small and you didn’t leave the table feeling stuffed at all!
I was also looking forward to the bourbon happy hour! As avid bourbon drinkers, John and Missy happily mix you up a refreshing bourbon cocktail each night. Whether it’s a classic bourbon drink such as a Manhattan or Old Fashioned or a more creative use of bourbon and ingredients such as fresh herbs, fruit, or homemade mixtures, it’ll quench your bourbon thirst. We enjoyed the Kentucky Mule, which is essentially a Moscow mule using bourbon. The happy hour included a sweet treat, and we enjoyed a delicious mint julep ice cream.
It was an absolute delight to be able to stay at Chateau Bourbon Luxury B&B. Out of all the wonderful places we’ve stayed, this is in my top five. Missy and John’s attention to detail is world-class, and it’s so obvious to see their passion, hospitality, and genuine care for everyone who walks through their doors. We can’t wait to come back!

Genetic Variants, Personal Choices, and Disease
By Jacob Appleton, IIN CHC, and Dr. Deanna Cherrone, MD
Inthe intricate tapestry of human health, the interplay between genetics, environment, and personal choices forms a complex narrative that shapes our susceptibility to disease. Genetic variants, the unique alterations in our DNA, set the stage for individual health profiles, but they do not act in isolation. Increasingly, research highlights the pivotal role of epigenetics—the biochemical modifications that can turn genes on or off, influenced by factors like diet, stress, and lifestyle choices. This dynamic interplay raises profound questions: How do our choices interact with our genetic predispositions? Can understanding these relationships empower us to mitigate our risks?
Here, we will explore the connections between genetic variants, epigenetic mechanisms, and the impact of personal choices on health outcomes, illuminating the path toward a more personalized approach to disease prevention and management.
Humans are 99.9% genetically identical to each other, so how significant is that 0.1% difference when it comes to health? It turns out that the more we learn about the human genome, the more we realize that it can make quite a difference, especially regarding disease susceptibility. An extreme example is trisomy 21, more commonly known as Down syndrome, where an extra copy of chromosome 21 is inserted into the genome. Genetic variation, along
with a variety of environmental and lifestyle factors, can impact gene expression and how the enzymes that run all of the chemical processes going on in our body function. When these reactions are disrupted, symptoms or disease can result. During conception when the sperm and egg come together, half the genetic code from each parent is passed down to the child in the form of chromosomes. Each chromosome carries hundreds to thousands of genes. Genes code for proteins and enzymes that allow us to take food, water, oxygen, and sunlight and produce energy for the body.
Genetic Variants and Disease
Genetic variation refers to changes in the DNA sequence. These variants can cause a gene to be more active, less active, or to have no effect at all. Another significant factor is whether the variant is homozygous or heterozygous. Homozygous refers to both parents donating the variated gene, and heterozygous is when only one parent passes on the variant. Heterozygous gene activity can be 70 to 80 percent of normal (wild type), whereas homozygous variants can have as low as 30 percent activity. There are exceptions to this rule, as is the case when there is an upregulation or “gain of function” variant where the activity of the gene is increased.
Genetic variants can explain why some people have symptoms while others do not. For example; The ABP1 and HNMT genes create enzymes that break down a chemical in our body called histamine. The immune system releases histamine in response to a foreign toxin, pathogen, or allergen, and foods such as bananas, avocados, and fermented and packaged foods contain large amounts of histamine. The inability to break down histamine efficiently sets us up for excess inflammation, which we know contributes to symptoms of disease. High histamine is also implicated in allergies, anxiety, headaches/migraines, insomnia, brain fog, skin rashes, dizziness, IBS, diarrhea, bloating, nausea, constipation, and painful menstrual periods.
Exposure to mold, extremes of hot and cold temperatures, Lyme, pesticides, and plastics can trigger a histamine release. Knowing that you have a genetic susceptibility to high histamine allows you to be more intentional with your choices. Specifically, it allows for the implementation of dietary and lifestyle changes as well as supplementation with specific nutrients to help the body break down histamine.
Another gene that has the potential for impact on someone’s day-to-day life is the CYP1A2 gene. This gene is directly involved in the breakdown of caffeine. Variations in this gene offer an explanation as to why some people tolerate caffeine better than others.
Individuals with homozygous variants on this gene metabolize caffeine much slower. It has been hypothesized that the half-life (the time it takes to eliminate half of the substance from the body) of caffeine in these individuals can be up to 9.5 hours or longer! No wonder you can’t sleep, even though your last cup of coffee was at 10:00 a.m.
Epigenetics
The interplay between your environment and your genes is called epigenetics. Epigenetics is the study of changes in gene expression that do not involve alterations to the underlying DNA sequence. These changes can be influenced by various factors, including environmental influences, lifestyle choices, and developmental stages. According to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), epigenetics “turns genes ‘on’ and ‘off.’ Your epigenetics change as you age, both as part of normal development and aging and because of exposure to environmental factors that happen over the course of your life.” Epigenetic changes can have an impact on your overall health in a variety of ways.
Epigenetic changes, unlike changes (mutations) in genes, are reversible, which opens up potential
therapeutic avenues. Researchers are exploring drugs that target epigenetic mechanisms, aiming to restore normal gene function and combat disease. Epigenetic changes also affect how genes are expressed without changing their DNA sequencing. Your epigenetics change throughout your life—they are not the same during childhood or adulthoos as tehy are at birth, and they can change in response to your behaviors and environment.
In the context of disease, epigenetic modifications—such as DNA methylation, histone modification, and non-coding RNA activity—can play a significant role in the onset and progression of various conditions, including cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and neurological disorders. For example, aberrant DNA methylation patterns can lead to the silencing of tumor suppressor genes or the activation of oncogenes, contributing to cancer development. Additionally, epigenetic changes can affect how the body responds to environmental stressors, potentially increasing susceptibility to diseases.
Overall, epigenetics represents a crucial intersection between genetics and environmental factors, offering insights into disease mechanisms and potential new treatment strategies. Epigenetic factors include sleep, stress, exercise/movement, diet, exposure to pathogens and toxins, drugs, supplements, and over-the-counter medications. Many human diseases, such as cancer, neurodegenerative disease, and autoimmune disorders, as well as psychiatric disorders and mental illness, can result from the choices we make in how we live our lives.
Genes provide potential for disease, but they are not our destiny. With this information, we realize we have much more control over whether we are healthy based on our lifestyle choices.

Why Emotional Intelligence Matters
By Kelly McCarthy
The“Emotionally intelligent individuals make phenomenal leaders due to their resilience, optimism, and commitment to personal and professional growth. They stay calm under pressure, adapt to changing circumstances, and always strive to understand and share the feelings of others with empathy, which involves recognizing emotional cues, considering others’ perspectives, and responding with compassion.

topic of emotional intelligence is becoming a focal point in discussions among top thought leaders today, yet it remains an underdeveloped skill in many societies, essential for our healthy evolution amidst the surrounding noise. Emotional intelligence is the ability to recognize, understand, and manage your emotions while also being able to recognize, understand, and manage others’ emotions without letting them affect you and how you live your daily life. It is crucial for effective communication, empathy, conflict resolution, and overall mental well-being.
The lack of emotional intelligence stems from our conditioned, unconscious patterns formed by the natural fight, flight, or hide responses of our ancestors living in survival mode. This state triggers stress, anxiety, and fear, diminishing the ability to think independently and making you reliant on others for validation and guidance. Every emotion you feel creates a neural pathway linked to previous experiences. When triggered, these pathways automatically generate reactions without conscious thought, perpetuating a cycle of impulsive reactions rather than thoughtful responses.
Unregulated emotions lead to heightened stress, anxiety, frustration, anger, and emotional outbursts. The inability to manage emotions effectively can make it harder to cope with setbacks and adversity, leading to self-sabotage, lack of confidence, self-worth, and even isolation in some cases. Lack of emotional intelligence can have far-reaching negative effects, impacting relationships, mental health, career success, and overall life satisfaction. Developing emotional intelligence is crucial for leading a balanced, fulfilling, and successful life.
Developing Emotional Intelligence
Those who choose to cultivate emotional intelligence can accurately perceive and understand emotions, as well as recognize their own strengths, weaknesses, and triggers. They
understand how these factors affect their thoughts and behavior and do not let others’ opinions influence their decision-making process. Emotionally intelligent individuals make phenomenal leaders due to their resilience, optimism, and commitment to personal and professional growth. They stay calm under pressure, adapt to changing circumstances, and always strive to understand and share the feelings of others with empathy, which involves recognizing emotional cues, considering others’ perspectives, and responding with compassion.
The ability to inspire and motivate others is a powerful result of emotional intelligence. Emotionally intelligent individuals can connect deeply with others, fostering a sense of trust and mutual respect. This connection allows them to effectively communicate a vision and goals, instilling enthusiasm and a shared sense of purpose. Their resilience and optimism are contagious, encouraging those around them to adopt a positive mindset and strive for excellence. It creates a supportive environment where people feel valued and heard, further enhancing motivation and inspiration. Ultimately, emotional intelligence not only transforms individual behavior but also elevates groups and communities, leading to greater collaboration, innovation, and success for all. They understand emotional intelligence is a “we” and not a “me.”
Nurturing Emotional Intelligence
So, how do I help create emotional intelligence in the lives of my clients? I show people how to become so conscious of themselves they can no longer remain unconscious. We begin by acknowledging and accepting that we all need to become more conscious of our emotional intelligence levels. Take time each day to reflect on your emotions and what triggers them. Create daily practices of mindfulness and meditation to better understand your feelings, your thoughts, and the
actions you take because of them. Stop worrying about what everyone else is doing and spend more time being curious about what motivates you. Being motivated by internal factors rather than external rewards actually enhances your emotional intelligence.
Learn to listen by creating a space for others without interrupting or planning your response. Share compassion by trying to understand situations from others’ viewpoints. Ask questions and seek to understand their emotions and motivations instead of assuming or stating they are wrong because you don’t agree. Work on your verbal and nonverbal communication skills. Believe it or not, your energy, body stance, and facial expressions share your thoughts and feelings before you do. Learn to practice clear, assertive, and respectful communication without emotions getting in your way. Invest time in building and maintaining relationships even when it feels hard. Show appreciation, provide support, and be open to collaboration. Remain grateful for every experience and every emotion as they are all discerning moments from which to learn, expand, and grow.
The journey to developing emotional intelligence is not an easy one, but it is immensely rewarding. By becoming more conscious of our own emotional states and learning to manage them effectively, we can break free from the conditioned responses that keep us in survival mode. Cultivating emotional intelligence requires daily practice, from mindfulness and meditation to active listening and empathetic communication. It’s about understanding and embracing our internal motivations and building meaningful relationships based on mutual respect and trust.
As we grow in emotional intelligence, we not only transform our own lives but also positively impact those around us, fostering environments where everyone can thrive. Ultimately, the development of emotional intelligence is a collective effort that can lead to a more compassionate, connected, and successful society. Let us commit to this journey of self-discovery and emotional growth, paving the way for a brighter, more harmonious future.

Dr. DI’s CORNER s
Inhis book, The Master Key System, Charles Haamel says the following about how to learn to manifest:
“The first step is realizing you have this power.
The second step is believing you can direct it.
The third step is to center your thoughts on what you want and shut the door on every suggestion of fear or worry or lack or disease—or influence from others to the contrary.
Once you gain that ability, nothing is impossible.”
Before I even knew what manifestation was, I was doing it. I bet if many of you think back to a time from your childhood, you’ll remember you were doing it too. The first time I can remember, I was in 8th grade A school dance was coming up in a month and there was this boy I was just dying to go with. I would think about him every night. I would daydream how the phone would ring. My mother would answer it and yell that it was for me, I’d pick it up and he would be on the other end of the line. He’d say, “I was just calling to see if you wanted to go to the dance with me?” I would literally visualize this happening day after day for weeks. Well, you can guess what happened. One day, about a week before the dance, that scenario played out exactly as I had envisioned it.
Everything we see around us had to first exist as a thought. Every product, every business, every building, every vehicle, every communication device. Just think about it for a minute.
Where did all of these things come from? An idea in someone’s mind. A thought. But lots of us think about things all the time that never come to fruition.
So how is it possible that some people can take a thought and create a reality? How is it that some of us can manifest some of the time but not all of the time? And how is it that others seemingly can’t manifest at all or create negative conditions of lack, limitation, and poverty?
I’ve realized that we manifest by utilizing things we cannot see. Our thoughts, our mindset, our consciousness. I don’t know about you, but for me it was very hard to understand and believe that I could make things happen without physically working harder at something. But if I think back to all of the things I knowingly manifested in my life—none of them were achieved by “working harder.” They were all accomplished by a fierce concentration of thought, an unwavering belief that it was going to happen, and taking small steps in the direction I wanted every day. The right people come into your life, you’re in the right place at the right time, and all sorts of other “coincidences” happen, and BOOM! You manifest.

Freshen Up Your Social Media: 5 Fall Cleaning Strategies for Engaging Content
By Deirdre Tindall, Founder, Tind-All Creative Marketing
As the leaves change and the air turns crisp, it’s the perfect time to freshen up your social media presence with engaging, relevant content that captivates your audience. AtTind-All Creative Marketing, we believe that attention to detail and a strategic approach can revitalize your social media presence and drive meaningful engagement. Here, we will explore five fall-cleaning strategies for refreshing your socials and captivating your audience.
1. Spruce Up Your Visuals
The first step in fall cleaning your social media is to spruce up your visuals. Refresh your profile and cover photos with seasonal imagery or colors that reflect the fall spirit. Use tools like Canva or Adobe Spark to create eye-catching graphics and infographics that convey your brand message in a visually appealing way. Incorporating autumnthemed visuals can instantly grab your audience’s attention and create a warm, inviting atmosphere on your social media pages.
2. Update Your Content Calendar
Take a fresh look at your content calendar and identify opportunities to align your posts with fall-related themes, events, and holidays. Consider featuring seasonal promotions, product launches, or special offers that resonate with the fall season. Whether it’s a cozy fall-inspired recipe, a behindthe-scenes look at your team embracing the season, or tips for navigating the changing landscape, tailoring your content to the season can make your social media more relatable and engaging.
3. Dive Into User-Generated Content
Fall is a great time to tap into user-generated content (UGC) to amplify your social media strategy. Encourage your audience to share their experiences, stories, and photos related to your brand and the fall season. Curate and showcase this UGC
on your social channels, which not only fosters a sense of community but also provides authentic and relatable content that resonates with your audience. UGC not only catalyzes engagement but also strengthens brand loyalty and trust.
4. Embrace Seasonal Storytelling
Tell compelling stories that evoke the essence of fall and connect more deeply with your audience. Whether highlighting the journey of your products from field to shelf, sharing the inspiration behind your brand’s fall collection, or featuring testimonials and success stories, leveraging seasonal storytelling can captivate your audience. Use the changing season to connect emotionally, demonstrate authenticity, and build meaningful relationships with your followers.
5. Conduct a Content Audit
As part of your fall cleaning efforts, conduct a thorough content audit to assess the performance of your social media posts over the past months. Identify high-performing content, as well as any underperforming content that may need to be revised or repurposed. Use the insights from the audit to refine your content strategy and ensure that your future posts are impactful, relevant, and tailored to your audience’s preferences. This fall, let’s embrace the opportunity to freshen up our social media with engaging content. With a strategic approach to fall cleaning, we can revitalize our social media presence, foster meaningful connections, and drive impactful engagement.
At Tind-All Creative Marketing, we are passionate about helping businesses leverage the power of strategic content for social media success. Let’s embrace the season of change and transform our social media into a vibrant and engaging platform that captivates and inspires our audience.
“With a strategic approach to fall cleaning, we can revitalize our social media presence, foster meaningful connections, and drive impactful engagement.”
