to our vision WELCOME TO THE JANUARY 2019 EDITION OF NEWPORT VISION. A MASSIVE HAPPY NEW YEAR TO OUR READERS AND WELCOME TO OUR FIRST EDITION OF 2019! As I am sure a lot of our readers have, the Newport Vision team took some time to reflect on 2018 and have been thinking about what we would like to do differently this year. Looking back now, last year went by in a blink of the eye and with a lot of changes and success we concentrated on getting the work life balance right. I’ll hold my hands up, towards the end of the year, I personally thought I had cracked it. At the time I was juggling a busy work schedule and still managing to spend time with my other half and our two sons. I managed to attend football matches, school meetings and helped our eldest as he started his new journey in College.

It was only when I planned a pamper day for my Sister-in-laws 30th birthday and my partner suggested I also go and be pampered, that I realised I forgot about one person in 2018 – ME! I’m instinctively a do-er and giver and so it is not a natural thing for me to put myself first but that is my resolution for 2019, I’ve decided it’s OK to be a little selfish and make sure I’m looking after myself as well as everyone else. So along with some of our regular feature’s Infinite Travel have brilliantly found us 3 options for getaways that focus on our wellbeing and I have also included a review of our Spa day at The Celtic Manor Resort. We also have a fantastic feature on Bar Piazza’s new venture, Bar Piazza Catering!
We are of course as always wishing you all the success, love and happiness in 2019 – just remember to take that time every day to look after yourself also – to rest, reflect, recuperate and treat yourself, after all, we are here for a good time, not a long time!

From opening for Madonna and moonwalking in Michael Jackson’s famous footsteps, to waltzing his way into our living rooms in ‘Strictly’ and conquering his fears in 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!', this popstar-turned-presenter has been making waves in the music and entertainment business for an impressive quarter of a century. Global singing sensation and star of the stage, Peter Andre, talks exclusively to Angela Sara West about his 25th anniversary tour, 90s nostalgia, and how he’s now making a new name for himself in Hollywood. He’s entered The Guinness Book of Records, supported Bobby Brown, written songs with the late, great Robin Gibb, graced the ‘Strictly’ dancefloor and entertained us in the ‘Celebrity Jungle’. With 25 years in showbiz under his belt, plus a plethora of projects in the pipeline, this irrepressible star is just hot off the stage from a retro 90s tour, following filming for a new movie role in LA and launching a new interiors range. And now, pop sensation Peter Andre’s set to celebrate with a very special anniversary tour, taking him on the road again!
New Faces - Big Break
Born in England but raised in Australia from the age of six,
Peter discovered his passion for music at an early age, with Michael Jackson his biggest inspiration growing up. “I’ve loved music ever since I was young, but I have to tell you, my parents didn’t want me to go into music, so when I went into the business, they were petrified! They were thinking of all the common pitfalls, but I wanted to show that, if you are honest as a performer, it can be OK.” And that ensuing career in the industry has worked out as a whole lot more than okay... it’s been a total triumph! Alongside his singing success, Peter’s become a popular TV personality and is now finding fame as an actor, too. Let’s face it, not many people can claim to have owned a mansion that previously belonged to Tom Cruise!! But how did it all begin for this global icon? He first rose to fame as a singer during the '90s, after his big break at sweet 16, when his 1990 appearance on the Australian TV talent show ‘New Faces’ resulted in a recording contract. Following success in his adopted Oz, the pop star sang his way into the limelight here in Blighty. After moving to London, Peter forged a successful music career in Europe with his much-loved single ‘Mysterious Girl’, which

25 YEARS IN SHOWBIZ - IT’S ‘INSANIA’! 06 NEWPORT VISION JANUARY 2019

“I’ve loved music ever since I was young, but I have to tell you, my parents didn’t want me to go into music, so when I went into the business, they were petrified!"
enjoyed 18 weeks in the UK charts in 1996, peaking at No.2 and making the Top 10 in 13 countries worldwide. Follow-up singles ‘Flava’ and ‘I Feel You’ (also from the chart-topping album ‘Natural’) both hit the No.1 spot in the singles chart and Peter went on to become the sixth best-selling artist of the decade in the UK.
Supporting Madonna
Opening for the Material Girl’s Girlie Show World Tour stadium tours 25 years ago also put him on his path to superstardom. “I mean, it was Madonna! The biggest pop star in the world… it totally blew my mind. Walking out onto that massive stage and seeing everyone in the stadium in front of me was just incredible.” He went on to become an internationally-acclaimed music star, touring with his own shows all over the world, winning countless accolades along the way. Having clocked up three No.1 singles, a No.1 album and 10 Top 5 singles in the UK alone, he’s also clinched two platinum and three gold albums along with numerous gongs, including a prestigious World Music Award and no fewer than three ARIAs (Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards).

Following four further Top 10 singles, the ‘90s pop pin-up took some time out, but came back with a bang after his break from the public eye, finding fame again when he entered a certain well-known jungle in 2004, where he wrote the song ‘Insania’ and gave fans a daily
dose of those impressive abs. Along with reality shows a-go-go, there have been small-screen appearances aplenty, including presenting gigs galore on shows such as '60-Minute Makeover', showbusiness reporter jobs on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ and cookery slots on ‘Lorraine’. Peter’s also a sought-after host for prestigious events, such as OK! magazine’s Beauty Awards, while the in-demand personality recently entertained fans with his ‘An Evening With Peter Andre ‘My Life Story’’ talks and Q&As at his speaking events, interspersed with the odd acoustic song or two. Gracing our screens to show off his enviable dance moves on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, and going back Down Under to take on jungle challenges as a contestant on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here?’ were both big learning curves for the celebrated singer. “’Strictly’ and ‘I’m a Celebrity…’ are two shows that are completely poles apart, but where you learn different things about yourself. Let’s just say that both shows taught me a lot!” Shortly after leaving the jungle, the 2004 re-release of ‘Mysterious Girl’ went straight to the top of the UK charts, eight years after its original release, seeing Peter enter the Guinness Book of Records as the only singer to have the same song hit the top of the UK charts three times!
90s nostalgia…
A couple of years ago, the record-breaking pop star was cruising’n’crooning on board P&O’s flagship cruise ship, LUXURY LIFESTYLE MAGAZINE 07
Al Pacino and is unrecognisable in his new movie role. “Although it was very full-on, I can honestly say shooting was an incredible experience. It was intense and very dark, and becoming the character took months of preparing. Thankfully, it paid off.”
Britannia, with Ant and Dec and an eight-piece swing/jazz band, Ashley Roberts, Stephen Mulhern. James Nesbitt and Katherine Jenkins. 2018 saw Peter perform at festivals alongside artists such as Ronan Keating, Midge Ure, Right Said Fred and The Cheeky Girls, as well as headlining arenas around the UK at the Stepback! 90s Concerts, featuring B*Witched, Blazin' Squad, East 17, 5ive and S Club, among other 90s bands. The nostalgic gigs saw him headline at Wembley Arena again for the first time in over 20 years. “They were great shows to do… 08 NEWPORT VISION JANUARY 2019
really fun,” he says. The 90s was a golden era for pop music and the decade’s much-idolised music is currently enjoying a welcomed revival. What is it that people enjoy so much about 90s songs? “I think people really just love pop nostalgia. It can take one song just to take you back to a great place, time or memory in your life.”
King of Pop
Peter also recently performed several Michael Jackson hits to rave reviews at ‘Thriller Live’’s special gala night, where other guest stars from the world of music and entertainment
included Russell Cane and Jon Culshaw. As a huge fan of the King of Pop, how was Pop Prince Peter’s experience of the ‘thrilling’ night? “Can I just say, it was one of the biggest honours of my life! I am a massive fan of Michael Jackson and to go out on stage and sing some of his songs was just incredible. It was to celebrate 4,000 performances of ‘Thriller Live’ in aid of The Prince’s Trust – I was so proud to be a part of that.”
La La Land… An official Hollywood actor!
From the small screen to the silver screen, the singing star is now officially a movie star, having landed a leading part in ‘The Inheritance’, directed by British director James Hickox and recently filmed in LA. Putting his all into his new-found craft, hardworking Peter took online acting lessons from
Another big-screen part, which left his kids especially impressed, entailed voicing the character of a mischievous rally car in the latest ‘Thomas the Tank Engine’ film. “It was a real honour to be voicing the character of Ace in the new movie, and it was such a buzz for me to be doing my first worldwide movie voiceover for something that I grew up on and loved as a child and that my kids now love, too. All the kids also love the new film and, secretly, I think they were quite proud of me doing it!”
Back on the road…. Celebrating 25 years in showbiz!
He once performed three shows in two countries in one day phew!! And, as a music and entertainment business stalwart, he’s showing no signs of slowing down… 2019 sees the record-breaking Aussie Brit back on stage to mark his impressive quarter-century milestone in showbiz. “My ‘Celebrating 25 Years’ tour will see me performing at 25 venues around the country. I’m so excited to celebrate with everyone who has followed me over the years!” Showcasing his musical journey through the years, he’ll perform his best-loved hits from his early years right up to his most
recent tracks. What else can fans expect? “It really is going to be a great show, with lots of the old classics as well as some of my more recent stuff, plus a few surprises thrown in along the way! I hope everybody loves it…”
not forgetting that if you’re after a makeover, Peter’s your man! He ventured into the world of interior design through his work presenting ITV’s ‘60 Minute Makeover’ and never passes up an opp to showcase his creative side.
Kicking off in Aberdeen in February, the tour takes in Swansea plus many of the UK’s other big cities, before winding up in London’s O2 and The Brighton Centre. Meet-andgreet packages are available for superfans to get up-close-andpersonal with Peter, who always enjoys giving back to his fans.
Fancy spending the night with Peter? Well, now you can make his bed and sleep in it, at least!! With many strings to his ever-expanding bow, he recently launched his new interiors collection A. By Andre, with luxury furniture retailer HOS Home, kicking off with bespoke, luxury handmade beds. The celeb-loved brand’s famous fans include Amanda Holden and Brian McFadden and Peter says he has much more in store!
On first entering the industry, did he ever think he would be SO staggeringly successful that he would still be recording and performing today? “When I started out, I was so determined to make it because singing and performing was all I wanted to do. But if you had told me that I would still be around in 25 years’ time, I don’t think I would have been able to answer that, honestly.”
Go… Grease Lightnin’!
This summer, he’s set to star as Teen Angel in 'Grease the Musical. ' ’Grease’ is such an iconic film isn’t it?!! And after ’Thriller Live’, I’ve got a real taste for musical theatre, so it’s nice to dabble a little in that world. It’s a great new door to open for me. Unfortunately, I couldn’t commit to the whole tour, so I won't be performing on every date, but it’s gonna be fun!”
In bed with Andre!
With a flair for design, Peter’s created several fragrances in the past plus a fashion collection,
Family life
In 2010, along came Emily… The pair met after Emily’s doctor dad treated Peter’s kidney stones. The loved-up couple wed in 2015 and have two young children, Amelia and Theo. And it looks like Junior and Princess, from his first marriage, will be following in Peter’s musical and acting footsteps; they both made Peter proud as punch on attaining their drama scholarship recently. “I am so proud of Junior and Princess. They both passed the LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) exams and got a distinction!” With a wife and four children, plus such a diverse portfolio, family man Peter has a lot on his plate, but somehow manages to juggle all his projects to strike a happy work/life balance to ensure quality time with Emily and the kids. Of GreekCypriot descent, when it's
time for a break from A&R, the keen chef heads to his home in Cyprus with his family for some much-needed R&R and to indulge in the Greek gastronomy. The proudest moments of his career so far? “I’ve had so many, I don’t think I could possibly choose… I’ve been extremely lucky that I’ve had so many opportunities in my career, from singing to TV presenting and even acting now. As for the most rewarding aspect of what
he does, he says he’s grateful for the opportunities that have been offered. “It’s just been amazing that I’ve had so many doors opening and I’ve been lucky enough to give new things a try!”

Relax, Recharge and Re-energise in 2019 AT THE CELTIC MANOR RESORT SPA BECAUSE IT’S TIME TO PUT YOURSELF FIRST As my Sister-in-law was saying farewell to her 20’s and had planned quite a few nights out to celebrate her 30th birthday, I thought it would be a good idea to book her in for a treatment or two at The Forum Spa. We had previously been to The Spa at The Celtic Manor Resort for treatments but felt this particular birthday celebration warranted a full day of pampering. It took very little 12 NEWPORT VISION JANUARY 2019
persuasion from me, when my other half he suggested I join her. I looked through the extensive treatments that they provide and booked us in for The Forum Herbal Steam Temple, a Forum Massage, and for us, the “piece de resistance”, an Elemis Pro-Collagen Age Defying Facial. Although I have been on numerous pamper days, both locally and abroad, I must admit, a facial just isn’t something that
up until now has appealed to me. I’m often mistaken for looking younger than I am and have been blessed with good skin. I very rarely suffer with any blemishes, redness or break outs (we’ll thank my half Greek, half Scottish heritage for that). As far as my face goes, I do the bare minimum and for the best part, have got away with it! I generally wear a tinted moisturiser, with a dusting of Mac’s Mineralize Skinfinish
powder and then remove this at the end of each day with a wet wipe! But as I have promised to put myself first this year and with my 40th looming next year, I thought it was about time I look after my skin. When we arrived we were greeted at the reception area of The Spa and shown around the facilities which are simply outstanding. With several chill out area’s available we found it hard to decide which area to relax in whilst we waited for our treatment times. We decided on trying them all and spent some much-needed chill-time in the comfortable and tranquil relaxation spaces. I will mention, that this is often the part that I am most disappointed with. In other Spa’s the treatment rooms and pool sides are often the main attractions with the relaxation and waiting areas sometimes
being overlooked. Not the case in The Forum Spa where not only have the dedicated areas been well thought out and furnished to the highest standard but the atmosphere with the music, lighting and gorgeous aromas combined all added to the experience ensuring you can linger and luxuriate at your leisure. The Herbal Steam Temple and the Massage that we had were absolutely amazing and we have already re-booked to have these treatments again but I’d really like to focus on the facial as I was pleasantly surprised and I would even say, am now a convert when it comes to facials. At my allotted time I was welcomed by my therapist, Nicola, who introduced herself and immediately put me at ease. Nicola asked if I had had

sure if it was the surroundings, the atmosphere or friendly, calm and professional confidence that Nicola showed, (quite possibly all of these combined) but I genuinely felt relaxed and as if I was being listened to and looked after by a friend. When we went through my skin-type and daily routine, I let Nicola know I was conscious of an oily T-zone which I had suffered with since I was a teenager and through the winter months, I sometimes get dryness on my cheeks.
Nicola expertly advised and recommended things that I could try to resolve these issues and as she used the amazing Elemis products on my face, neck and shoulders she took the time to explain what each one was, what it did for my skin and how it could help with my particular skin type. The 50 minute treatment was above and beyond what I had expected, I left the treatment room feeling, relaxed and with a glow to my face like I have never had before. On a closer look in the
mirror I could see a definite difference in my skin and it looked visibly plumper and younger looking. After enjoying the healthy and tasty Wellness Lunch provided for us, some alcoholic beverages (a necessary addition on such an occasion) and the other treatments, we ensured that we booked ourselves in again for a repeat experience and promised ourselves that we would be doing this every 8 weeks, as we are worth it. We then took a leisurely stroll through the Celtic Manor Resort Mall where treated ourselves a little more!
a Facial before and I began to confess that I did very little to care for my skin and was a novice when it came to facials and skincare. ‘No problem’ she reassured me, ‘you are in good hands, you just relax and let me do the rest’. Now when I say that from that moment on, relax is what I did, I’d like to explain why this is no small feat for me. I am not a great fan of being poked or prodded, touched or smoothed by a stranger. Whilst most love to be pampered at the hairdressers, beauticians or like this occasion, in a Spa, I am normally forcing myself to enjoy these experiences. This however was a totally different experience, I am not 14 NEWPORT VISION JANUARY 2019
The amazing Elemis products were used on my face, neck and shoulders.
By what I have said, it will come as no surprise that I would highly recommend the Spa and treatments to all, however, I’d like to end by saying this, you do NOT need an occasion or excuse to pamper yourself, the fantastic facilities and experienced professional team are on our doorstep and available to make us look and feel amazing all year round. So why not make 2019 the year that you put yourself first!

Interior Design Colour Palettes for 2019 We predict the colour palettes that we will all be fawning over in 2019.
DARK GREEN This has been creeping in over the last couple of years with the introduction of the much loved 'Jungle style' trend with leafy wallpapers and live plants and shows no signs of slowing down. Teamed with beautiful gold accents or dark woods this shouts class and a confidence to go dark and bold. 18 NEWPORT VISION JANUARY 2019
DUSTY PINK We have been graced with the millennial pink for a number of years now and you'd struggle to find a scandi style interior without it being thrown into the mix somewhere along the line. 2019 is all about change and we are now going for a more timeless look with the Dusty shades of pink leading the way!
WARM CREAMS Whilst our beloved "grey-everything" era is slowly making an exit we replace it in 2019 with another neutral, warm cream. This is exciting as it is a little more welcoming than the harsh cold whites we have come accustomed to and softer than the tans of previous trends. This versatile colour goes with all metallic and if you get the lighting right, your natural, calming cream interior becomes a showstopper.

THE QUAY TO HOSPITALITY The banks of the river Usk in Newport are beginning to attract some great new businesses with the newest of them being Quay Apartments at Clarence House. 20 NEWPORT VISION JANUARY 2019
Whether visitors are attending Newport for business or pleasure they now have an alternative to the accommodation offered by hotels in the area. Quay Apartments offer fully furnished serviced apartments at a highly affordable rate and are designed to provide the comforts of home with the luxury of a hotel stay. Situated on the top two floors of Clarence House the apartments have fantastic views of Newport’s city centre, have 24 hour security and car parking. Each of the 14 apartments are ensuite with fully equipped kitchens, offering the most modern facilities and comfortable living dining rooms, ensuring a relaxing break whether it be for overnight or a longer term stay.
Newport is the newest location for the chain that have apartments in Manchester, Leeds and Salford Quays, the initiative of Ali and his 3 brothers. When Newport Vision asked Ali, Why Newport? "A business opportunity came up in Newport and we did our research and found that newport had a lot to offer so we went ahead with it. "We were looking for an up and coming city and with all the development going on in Newport, plus it being sandwiched between Cardiff and Bristol it seemed perfect as not only is it attracting it’s own visitors for business and leisure but it also acts as an overflow for Cardiff when their hotels are full.
When we actually visited the city it was a done deal, the warmth and help we received from everyone we came into contact with was absolutely overwhelming and we really felt like it was a community that we were being welcomed to and that we wanted to become a part of." The decision has been a great one for the brothers and they have wasted no time in quickly redeveloping14 of the apartments in just two weeks. Recruiting a team of staff from Newport has gone seamlessly, Ali says, "it was important to us to hire the right people, as we are a family business and that's how we treat our staff also, we all work together, side by side, our staff give us 100% and they get the same back from us, our team in Newport are great!"
The hard working and ambitious brothers have no plans to stop at just the apartments. "The regeneration that is happening in Newport is really exciting and we can't wait to be a part of the growth that is happening here in this city" said Ali. When I asked Ali about adding more apartments on some of the floors that were vacant, he told me, "The 10th floor is in progress and all going well, work will start in February/March next year. We'd love to occupy some of the lower floors, but maybe add something different to complement the apartments. We are happy that there are other great business right next to us such as The Riverside Sports Bar and Kitchen, Sixteen Brasserie and The Pod. A short walk from The Neon, Quarters Coffee, Monusk Tapas and Horton's Coffee "Having come from a larger city, there are still a few things that Newport is missing and having already met local business owners and seeing their passion, it won't be long before Newport is thriving". It is definitely an exciting time for Newport and Ali is right, the fantastic businesses that have graced our riverfront are thriving and definitely adding support to the nearby Friars Walk and the City Centre. Long may it continue and we can't wait to watch as Quay Apartments, Clarence House and the other businesses on the riverfront continue to grow and prosper.

FOOD REVIEW
Bar Piazza in John Frost Square has long become a staple for shoppers in Newport Town Centre and with some of their best selling dishes being, the Italian sausage, mozzarella and peppers toasted ciabatta or the Chicken Milanese, rocket and mayo ciabatta, you can see why. This favourite family owned Italian coffee shop first opened in 1999 and reflects the type of traditional coffee bar you would find in Italy. Mandy and Angelo first opened a Continental shop on Ruperra Street in the 80s and 90s selling pasta, fresh meats and cheeses but the love of food and cooking actually runs through generations of the Attorre family.
A tavola non si invecchia is an Italian saying that means, At the table, you don’t get old. Italians never eat alone so this phrase implies that if you’re at the table, you’re also surrounded by family and friends. That is exactly the feeling you get by the warm and welcoming Attorre family if you have ever visited Bar Piazza! 22 NEWPORT VISION JANUARY 2019
Angelo’s mother was a fantastic cook and passed on tasty family recipes such as their Pugliese Lasagne which has mozzarella instead of béchamel sauce as well as eggs, ham and mini meatballs. And if that isn't a dish that would get your mouth watering you can choose between filled panini’s, antipasti platters, Italian sausage with peppers, chicken with potatoes, chicken Milanese & cannelloni as well as delicious italian desserts such as Cannoli’s, Della Nonna,
They do fantastic breakfast catering for corporate and private functions where you will be delivered a variety of sausage or bacon baguettes, bagels, danish pastry platters, granola pots, fruit salad pots, tea and coffee. At Lunchtimes you can order a selection of sandwiches, artisan baguettes, salads, and wraps. Buffet catering can be any of the above mixed with homemade finger foods like savoury pastries (parcels and Italian sausage rolls), Lebanese chicken, pasta salads, potato salads, spiced chickpeas & homemade coleslaw and pizzas. They also cater for corporate functions, weddings and events to a large scale and being a local and family run business have the flexibility to be as creative as you'd like offering bespoke menus tailored to suit any requirements using the very best and freshest ingredients.
Pasticiotti’s and the timeless, Tiramisu. The latest generation to branch out is Mandy and Angelo's Son, Marco. Along with wife Rebecca, they added a touch of Italian magic to Caerleon when the second coffee shop was opened a couple of years back. The Caerleon coffee shop followed in Newport's success and quickly became a favourite meeting point.
In 2018, Marco decided to share the 'Attorre magic and flavours' with even more customers by offering a wider variety to the coffee shop menu and lunchtime buffets already catered for and Bar Piazza Catering was born! Covering all of South Wales, Bar Piazza Catering now supply other coffee shops and restaurants with their much loved cuisine which includes their own branded coffee beans, Panini’s, Sandwiches, afternoon tea boxes, soups, salads and desserts.
Although they lovingly call Newport, home, they try to visit Italy and in particular, Ostuni, as often as possible, only to return inspired with new recipes and ideas for new dishes!

VIRGIL ABLOH LEADER IN THE FASHION GAME THE DESIGNER’S AT LOUIS VUITTON CREATES FASHION FOR THE MASSES! As 2019 begins…
… here at Newport vision we wanted to share who we believe is currently at the forefront of the fashion world of mens and women apparel. There are many outstanding things about the designer’s LV baptism. First and foremost, the fact that Abloh is the first African American to helm an LVMH house make this journey ground breaking before he even got started. “I think that these platforms are super big,” “They resonate in the outside world in a super way. I’m not just playing into that; I’m just using the models as people, not just bodies to make my clothes look good,” he continued. “Not only are they dark-skinned, they’re all artists and friends.” States Abloh. The clothes present a new direction for the LV brand. To say that Abloh’s collection is conceptual would be an understatement. Reimagining is what Abloh is all about. The American designer’s appointment as LV artistic director was the culmination of his rise over the past three years and makes him the first designer of colour to hold such a high-profile position.
What makes his new role the most interesting is his unorthodox trajectory. The 37-year-old didn’t go to fashion school; instead his formal qualifications lie in engineering and architecture and he has had a successful career as a DJ and producer for the past two decades.
We are thrilled to see how his innate creativity and disruptive approach has made and keeps him so relevant, not just in the world of fashion but in popular culture today. His sensibility towards luxury and savoir-faire will be instrumental in taking Louis Vuitton’s menswear into the future.
The way he has challenged the preconceived notions of what a fashion designer looks like at his five-year-old label Off-White, is exactly the fresh perspective that has captured the millennial ultimately having Louis Vuitton knocking on his door. When news broke of the hire, Louis Vuitton’s chief executive, Michael Burke, praised Abloh’s “innate creativity and disruptive approach”.
"It is an honour for me to accept the position of Men’s Artistic Director for Louis Vuitton. I find the heritage and creative integrity of the House are key inspirations and will look to reference them both while drawing parallels to modern times," said Abloh.
What Abloh continues to bring to fashion is certainly strong statement’s of intent, particularly heavily focus on his streetwear style and his relative nascence to the industry - he founded in his brand Off-White in 2012. Abloh, has been awarded International Designer of the Year at the GQ Men of the Year awards in 2017, he debut his first LV catwalk show in Paris in June.

TRAVEL REVIEW
Along with the rise of Dry January and, hot on its heels, Veganuary, one trend I’m seeing in the travel industry this year is an increasing shift from a destination focus to experience focused itineraries. And one area which is soaring in popularity is “wellness”. Just lying on a sun lounger for two weeks isn’t enough for many these days. They want Insta-worthy experiences and to come home with real personal benefits from their precious time away. Some people may still think of the traditional ‘yoga retreat’ as a holiday reserved for tie-dye clad hippies but things have moved on a long way. Wellness tours offer the perfect balance of awe-inspiring destinations, rejuvenating activities, and healthy food experiences, helping you return home feeling even better than when you left. Taking time out to discover the real you, recharge your body and nourish your mind allows you to find your balance again.
EXPERIENCE TRAVEL Shift your focus from destination to experiences and return with real personal benefits from your precious time away.
You can learn to cook new dishes with the locals and bring home recipes and skills to share with friends when you’re back home, and meet like-minded people along the way as you drop in and out of activities. Holidays focused on disconnecting from our increasingly digital lives are also gaining in popularity. Taking time out allows us to reconnect with our partners, families and values and return to the hamster wheel of life knowing first hand the value of less screen time all round.
So, whether deep inside you’re a romantic retreater, gourmet globetrotter, arty adventurer or frequent weekender, don’t just discover the world, discover you too! Across the page is some inspiration for wellness trips worldwide. There are lots more out there to suit all budgets, from Italy to India, Cornwall to Columbia. Just get in touch with us and we’ll help you find the perfect trip to get in touch with yourself again!
