INTERNATIONAL EDITORIAL- DESIGN & RESEARCH FORUM MARKETING WITH THE ICMA
The ICMA is also to be a marketing instrument for prize winners. Here you see examples of how winners report on the Awards they have won on their websites and in print media. Trade and specialist media also report on these results. It is always good to throw a positive light on one‘s work both for customers as well as the public at large.
SPH Magazines, Singapore, reports on the awards that the magazines of this publisher have won at ICMA.
ICMA plays a special role in the Germanspeaking world: The results of the ICMA and other competitions are used to create an agency ranking. The number of awards is a quality criterion.
The magazine for advertising and media Horizont reports on the awards for Swiss media at the ICMA. It shows excellent work by Migros, a company that operates supermarkets.
The Spotlight publishing house, which publishes language magazines, reports on its awards at the ICMA in social media channels.

INTERNATIONAL EDITORIAL- DESIGN & RESEARCH FORUM INTRODUCTION
Call for Entries 9th ICDA. The ICMA has four parts. This brochure explains the submission for the ICDA – International Creative Design Award. About the ICMA – International Creative Media Award n The competition is well established as trade media report on the winners and the results are used for agency rankings. n Participation fees are manageable and there are no additional hidden fees for winners. n The ICMA is designed as a worldwide competition. Invitations go to more than 4,000 designers and agencies worldwide. n Designers from all over the world are taking part in competitions to promote their work with the awards.
The participants come from these countries: Traditionally, the ICMA is very well anchored in the German-speaking world. Many submissions to this independent competition come from Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Within Europe companies, agencies and designers from these countries have participated: Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Finland, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Slovakia, Romania, Spain, Poland, Ukraine and Greece. Submissions outside Europe came from, among others, Singapore, India, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the USA and Russia.
Why should I take part in this competition? In the magazine “Page” there was the following quote from a designer about this: “We have been in agreement for some years that there is no cheaper advertising than participation in design competitions. How much more would we have to spend without this simple method in order to attract attention! And what’s nicer than the accolade of colleagues?”

THE OBJECTIVES OF THE COMPETITION The objectives of the competition: Exchange of creative ideas. There are competitions in a lot of countries on custom media, books, corporate design and magazine design, which take place in separated competitions. The ICMA aims to support the exchange of ideas at the international platform. This is why the call for entries is send to more than 9000 designers, custom media specialists, book publishers and magazines worldwide. Further objectives of the competition: n Disclosing trends: The results of the competition give everyone the opportunity to classify his or her object in international comparison, and to quickly execute optimisation measures for his or her own product. n Impact outwardly: Winners report intensively on the Awards they have won, on their websites and in print media. They thus underscore their standards of quality and at the same time get involved in their own advertising. n Think tank: Publication of the winners in the ICMA‘s Almanac and on www.icma-award.com promote their own creativity.
