HOUSE SINGING Comment from our House Singing leader, Derek Park (Arts Captain)

We had to go through a lot of challenges to make the performance successful: We had extra practice time during break and lunch due to time constraints, we had to make some changes to the music throughout the practice. All the year 11s had to teach the song so that everyone knew what they were singing. Despite the difficulties, the active participation of every Jeojians made us come together and perform the song successfully. I really appreciate all of you who committed to the practices and practiced singing in your own time. I hope that the year 10s will also create a wonderful performance next year.

HOUSE GLEE Comment from our House Glee leader, Jane Koo (House Captain)

It was an incredible honor to lead the house glee this year. As I reflect on the journey, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the opportunity to lead such an exceptional group of individuals. I would like to rise a heartfelt thank you to our glee members, HM, AHM, and tutors. This success would not have exist without your support. While we proudly secured the 2nd place, I want to highlight that our success extends far beyond any numerical placement. The true essence of our accomplishment lies in the unity and collaboration that defined every step of our journey. Witnessing everyone come together, dancing in sync, and sharing infectious smiles filled my heart with immense joy. The memories created during this journey will forever hold a special place in my heart, and I hope this also resonate with you.

HOUSE ENSEMBLE Comment from our House Ensemble leader, Oscar Kim (Y10)

Hello everyone! This is the leader of the Jeoji Ensemble team, Oscar Kim. The team consists of Seoha Han (Vocal), Teddy Shin (Violin), Aaron Cho (Bass), Gabriella Shin (Guitar), Yeju Chung (Drum) and myself (Violin & Keyboard). Our piece “South of the River”, a piece inside the album “Geography", describes a place where the singer and the lover meet, sharing love and relationships. The south of the river acts as a location connecting the two individuals and the lyrics tell us that the connection between the two has started here. The singer constantly attempts to persuade his lover to come to the south of the river, showing the vital connection existing between the two. The success that our team has achieved (2nd place) is something that was done by the tremendous amounts of work that all of our members had put in. I would like to thank all the members of the team for their enthusiasm. I would also like to thank all the audience who came to see our performance. Please show interest and sign up for the Jeoji Ensemble team next year as well. Let’s win 1st place next time!

JEOJIANS IN ACTION Last week of November was a busy week for some Jeojians. Mia Ma, Oscar Kim, John Shin, Simon Lee, Skye Seo, Joon Park, Luna Choi, Alice Ko, Eunice Yoon, and Grace Han were involved in the CATS musical production in one of the roles: main cast, dancer, band, tech crew. They needed to cope with tiring rehearsals and extra practices throughout term 1. Still, they enjoyed the process and led the musical into a great success! The media team interviewed some Jeojians who were involved in CATS. Skye Seo (Y8, Dancer) The cats musical was overall tiring. Constant practices made me very tired and exhausted. However, the memories I got from the rehearsals are very precious and the performance gave me unforgettable great memories. Throughout the journey, I experienced lots of dance styles such as Tap, Acro, and Ballet which was interesting. The songs and dances were good and I loved the way this musical introduced the characters. Joon Park (Y9, Main Cast) I joined CATs because of the strong recommendation of my teacher and friends. Working together with different people was interesting, also it was an opportunity to learn diverse perspectives in performing arts including dance, emotion and drama. In addition, my cool hairstyle was interesting. We did have conflicts sometimes and did stress out due to numerous practices. However, despite every tiring factors we managed to support each other and finished the production on a high. It was a great pleasure to cooperate with diverse students and staff members and did absolutely enjoy it.

Well done everybody!

Joon Park (Y9) as Macavity: The Mystery Cat

A NOTE FROM THE HEAD OF HOUSE DEAR PARENTS OF JEOJI,

THIS YEAR'S NLCS HOUSE COMPETITION HAS BEEN NOTHING SHORT OF EXTRAORDINARY, AND WE ARE THRILLED TO SHARE THE NEWS THAT WE CURRENTLY STAND PROUDLY IN SECOND PLACE OVERALL. THIS ACHIEVEMENT IS NOT MERELY A REFLECTION OF POINTS EARNED BUT A TESTAMENT TO THE VALUES WE HOLD DEAR IN JEOJI HOUSE – VALUES CENTRED AROUND INCLUSION AND CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. INCLUSION LIES AT THE HEART OF JEOJI, AND WE HAVE SEEN IT MANIFEST IN THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WAYS THROUGHOUT THE COMPETITION. STUDENTS WITH DIVERSE TALENTS AND INTERESTS HAVE COME TOGETHER TO FORM BONDS THAT EXTEND BEYOND THE CLASSROOM. THE SPIRIT OF UNITY AND COLLABORATION HAS CREATED AN ATMOSPHERE WHERE EVERY CHILD FEELS NOT JUST ACCEPTED BUT CELEBRATED FOR THEIR UNIQUE STRENGTHS AND CHARACTER. THE NLCS HOUSE COMPETITION IS MORE THAN JUST A SERIES OF EVENTS; IT IS A PLATFORM FOR OUR STUDENTS TO LEARN VALUABLE LIFE LESSONS THAT EXTEND FAR BEYOND THE BOUNDARIES OF ACADEMIA. THROUGH THESE CHALLENGES, THEY ARE DEVELOPING RESILIENCE, LEADERSHIP SKILLS, AND A DEEP SENSE OF SPORTSMANSHIP. IT WARMS OUR HEARTS TO WITNESS THE GROWTH OF EACH CHILD AS THEY FACE TRIUMPHS AND SETBACKS WITH GRACE AND DETERMINATION. AS PARENTS, YOUR ROLE IN SHAPING THE CHARACTER OF YOUR CHILDREN IS IMMEASURABLE, AND WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR YOUR UNWAVERING SUPPORT. THE ENCOURAGEMENT YOU PROVIDE AT HOME ECHOES IN THE RESILIENCE YOUR CHILD DEMONSTRATES ON THE FIELD AND THE KINDNESS THEY EXTEND TO THEIR PEERS. IT IS A COLLECTIVE EFFORT, AND TOGETHER, WE ARE CREATING A COMMUNITY THAT VALUES COMPASSION, TEAMWORK, AND THE PURSUIT OF EXCELLENCE. AS WE CONTINUE IN THE NLCS HOUSE COMPETITION, LET US REVEL IN THE JOY OF SHARED ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND CELEBRATE THE INDIVIDUAL JOURNEYS THAT CONTRIBUTE TO OUR COLLECTIVE SUCCESS. WHETHER YOUR CHILD IS A STAR ATHLETE, A BUDDING ARTIST, OR A QUIET BUT STEADFAST SUPPORTER, THEIR UNIQUE CONTRIBUTIONS ARE WHAT MAKE JEOJI HOUSE TRULY EXCEPTIONAL. IN THE SPIRIT OF UNITY AND ENCOURAGEMENT, WE INVITE YOU TO JOIN US IN CHEERING ON OUR YOUNG COMPETITORS, NOT JUST FOR THEIR ACHIEVEMENTS ON THE SCOREBOARD, BUT FOR THE GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT THEY ARE EXPERIENCING ON THIS INCREDIBLE JOURNEY. YOUR SUPPORT, LOVE, AND GUIDANCE ARE THE CORNERSTONES OF THE VALUES WE HOLD DEAR, AND TOGETHER, WE WILL CONTINUE TO NURTURE AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE EVERY CHILD CAN THRIVE. THANK YOU FOR ENTRUSTING US WITH THE PRIVILEGE OF SHAPING THE HEARTS AND MINDS OF THE NEXT GENERATION. LET US EMBRACE THE REMAINING MOMENTS OF THE NLCS HOUSE COMPETITION WITH PRIDE IN THE PRIDE, GRATITUDE, AND THE KNOWLEDGE THAT, TOGETHER, WE ARE CREATING A LEGACY OF CHARACTER, INCLUSION, AND LASTING FRIENDSHIPS WHICH WILL SUPPORT OUR YOUNG PEOPLE BEYOND THE WALLS OF SCHOOL AND INTO THE FUTURE.
