Interview: Mr. McKeogh
Q. What qualities do you look for Jeojians?
A. Kindness, empathy, teamwork, resilience, and passion. All of these qualities are really important to me. School can be difficult and stressful at times To me, a good House helps with this by giving students an opportunity to switch off from academics and switch on to being good people. Whether it's supporting a teammate during House Dance practice, cheering someone on in a competition, or just being there for a friend, Jeoji House is about creating a community where we lift each other up and help each other out
Q. What are your vision for the future of Jeoji House, and how do you plan to achieve them?
A. My vision for Jeoji House is to make it the most welcoming, inclusive, and supportive community in the school. Success for Jeoji House isn’t about how many trophies we win; it’s about how connected and valued our members feel. To achieve this, I want to increase opportunities for leadership at all levels so every student can contribute their unique strengths to the House, to flourish and grow. I also want to organize more activities that bring students together across year groups, fostering a sense of belonging. Most importantly, I’ll focus on celebrating every individual's efforts, ensuring that Jeoji feels like a family we ’ re all proud to be part of We want our Jeojians to always be Jeojians in name and nature moving forward, I want Jeoji to be a House which produces leaders of the future whose values and skills align with the real world and demands of the modern workplace.
Q. How would you describe the overall collaborative spirit within Jeoji House?
A. Jeoji House has a unique collaborative spirit that I would describe as “Pride in the Pride ” It’s not just about working together but truly valuing each other’s ideas and efforts. Whether it’s planning for House Song, organizing our Wellness Wednesday activities, helping with teams, taking photos, being part of the media team or cheering each other on during Sports Day, Jeojians bring a sense of teamwork and mutual respect to everything they do Collaboration in Jeoji House isn’t just about achieving results; it’s about the friendships and memories we create along the way. Every voice matters, and that’s what makes us so special.
“We are learning and growing together, we are placing value on each other and the importance of House in helping our young people to develop.”

Ms. Wilson
Q. What qualities do you look for Jeojians?
A. We are looking to develop kind, inclusive and caring Jeojian's who treat others with respect. We want our older students to 'Take Pride in the Pride' and to ensure that they are being great role models for the younger students.
Q. What are your vision for the future of Jeoji House, and how do you plan to achieve them?
A. We want Jeoji House to be a safe place where all of our students feel included, valued and a part of the Jeoji family. We want the House to be driven forward by both staff and students and we want to give the year 10 and 11 students the chances to develop their leadership skills. The Wellness Committee plan and lead activities every Wednesday with the aim of increasing student well-being. We want Jeoji to feel like a family and to do this it is important that students get the opportunity to get to know others in the House. We have introduced 'Family quiz Friday' as a chance to get the students to mix with others they may not know and compete in fun quizzes We (HOH and AHOH) are working together with the Jeoji Leadership team to ensure that everyone is included and organised for the weekly House Competitions.
Q. How would you describe the overall collaborative spirit within Jeoji House?
A. It has been excellent this year to see the collaboration of students working together on different projects. I have enjoyed seeing the students demonstrate their leadership skills and take ownership for preparing and leading events. The year 11's have done a phenomenal job at preparing for the Showcase events such as House Singing, House Commercial Dance, House Ensemble and coming up soon is the House Drama. Other projects include the Media team photographing the events at House Competition and writing the Jeoji Roar, the Wellbeing Committee planning and preparing activities for Wednesday and the House Committee have done an excellent job at ensuring the teams are organised for House Competition on Friday.

Soul’s dedication motivates her peers to try their best even in dire situations.
Hi Jeojians, we are the 2024-25 Jeoji media team. The start of this academic year was enthusiastic and inclusive for Jeoji, and the Jeoji leadership team will try our best to further cultivate such environment.
House singing is arguably one of the most difficult competitions, as it requires everyone to put in a considerable amount of effort. It’s the competition most talked about, or should I say, complained about by people (particularly Y11s) who are eager to get their house to win. However, believe it or not, we have come extremely far from where we started: a few weeks ago, we couldn’t even make a sound or sing the correct notes! Of course, we are not professionals, so we aren’t perfect. You may have heard of the phrase “practice makes perfect.” However, let’s step away from that phrase when preparing for this event, and remember that practice does not make perfect; it makes progress.
"Rewrite the Stars" from The Greatest Showman explores forbidden love and the struggle between hope and reality. It reflects the desire to overcome societal and circumstantial barriers, symbolized by the idea of "rewriting the stars," while acknowledging that love alone cannot always defy fate The song’s message resonates with anyone who has faced obstacles in relationships, blending hope with bittersweet realism.
Although there were many challenges in Jeoji house singing’s journey, we all managed to perform our best. Everyone tried their best to create a wonderful performance, and I was excited to lead such a group of wonderful singers. As a result, we ended up coming 2nd place !
I was truly honoured to be the conductor of the song “Rewrite the Stars.” I am thankful for the staff and fellow students for cooperating and helping me. I wish to continue this journey forever, but I will pass on my role to our current year 10s now and assist them.
We're thrilled to announce that Jeoji House's talented dancers successfully finished their recent house commercial dance competition! Their exceptional skills, creativity, and unwavering passion captivated the judges and audience alike

Your hard work and dedication have paid off, and we're incredibly proud of your accomplishments
The fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 and the song "From Now On" both symbolize breaking from the past to embrace freedom, unity, and renewal through love and community.

Despite the initial challenges of having to get used to leading a group of multiple year groups, I was glad that I had many people supporting me, especially Joon, Eunice, and Sabrina, who helped me get through the process of choreographing and coordinating the performance. The biggest challenge I think that I had to undergo, was having to constantly criticise certain people (Aiden) to make sure they were doing the choreography correctly, which was a struggle, however, I was extremely thankful for their hard work and enthusiasm, and am overall very happy with the performance. One thing that I feel most proud of was how we, as a house were able to come together and create a forever lasting memory, and I am looking forward to next year ’ s performance as well :)
Jeoji’s journey to first place in the house ensemble was a treatment to passion and teamwork! With a team of seven - Soyoon Bang, Seoha Han, Stella Park, Jiho Lee, Derek Park, Payton Lee, and Harang Choi - we came together to deliver a show that blended our strengths into a symphony of sound. For our leaders, the victory was meaningful. They carried the weight of guiding the members through rehearsals, perfecting every detail, and ensuring working in one ‘team’.
The procedure wasn’t always smooth, but their belief in the team paid off. To every member of the Jeoji ensemble, the win is a celebration of hard work and unity. We’ve proven that passion and teamwork can achieve greatness.

The moment Jeoji was announced as first place in the house ensemble competition, I got overwhelmed with emotion. All the members worked incredibly hard for this moment, and I am very proud of our ensemble team. All the hard work and dedication for this moment had led to this moment, which highlighted our unity and passion as key to our success. The process wasn’t easy, with facing challenges, we did not give up our goal
Interview: Seoha Han
The moment our team was announced as the winner of the competition, I couldn’t believe it it felt like all our hard work had finally paid off. We went through so many challenges, like practicing during every lunch break and fixing parts that didn’t work, but we never gave up. I’m so proud of everyone on the team because we pushed through together. This win really showed how much effort we put in and how well we worked as a group. It’s a moment I’ll never forget!
Year 7 Damian Kim:
It was a great competition which was the second “sports” House competition for all year 7 in Jeoji. Year 7 shows passion, kindness and sportsmanship to all opponent houses and it makes me think about the terms “sports” and “unity” again. Despite, Year 7 not being awarded 1st place, the efforts to win and memories never being removed. It will be in Year 7's hearts for a long time and the steps to be adults at this school society

During the house competition, it was great to see students from each grade cooperating with their friends. The event fostered teamwork and camaraderie, as students encouraged one another and worked together toward a common goal. It was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen friendships, build new connections, and showcase house spirit in a fun and supportive atmosphere.

Jeoji House Well-Being Wednesdays: Promoting Fun, Leadership, and Community Jeoji House is proud to host Well-Being Wednesdays, a series of student-led activities designed to support and promote the well-being of our community. These sessions focus on engaging students in enjoyable and inclusive activities, encouraging them to take a break from their busy academic schedules and connect with others.
Research consistently highlights the importance of well-being initiatives in educational environments. Studies have shown that engaging in fun, communal activities can significantly reduce stress, improve mental health, and enhance overall resilience among students. At Jeoji, we recognise that many of our students face immense pressure, juggling rigorous academics, extracurricular commitments, and personal aspirations. Well-Being Wednesdays provide a much-needed space for relaxation and joy, helping students to recharge and manage the challenges they face.
Beyond stress relief, these sessions create leadership opportunities within the House This year, we have been particularly inspired by the contributions of Shayla Hwang and Serah Chung, two exemplary Year 11 students who have taken on key roles in organising and facilitating activities. Their efforts have ensured the success of these sessions, from planning engaging games to supporting younger students. Shayla and Serah have embodied the House values of leadership, inclusivity, and fun, demonstrating what it means to take pride in Jeoji’s community They are leading a team of supportive Year 10’s and 11’s and we are really grateful for all their efforts and energy.
One of the core goals of Well-Being Wednesdays is to foster a stronger sense of belonging and connection among our students. These activities are intentionally designed to bring students together, bridging year groups and creating a family-like atmosphere. In Jeoji House, we strive to make every student feel supported and valued, and these sessions are a vital part of that mission. Through team games, creative challenges, and collaborative projects, students build friendships, develop mutual respect, and strengthen their bonds with the House.
At its heart, Well-Being Wednesdays encapsulate Jeoji House's commitment to holistic development. By promoting well-being, encouraging leadership, and building a sense of community, these activities ensure that every student has the opportunity to thrive. We look forward to seeing even more students step up as leaders and participants, contributing to a House culture that celebrates connection and care.
As always, in Jeoji House, it’s not just about being the best it’s about being the most welcoming and inclusive. Well-Being Wednesdays are a testament to that ideal, and we are excited to see them continue to grow and flourish. Pride in the Pride!
