Meet Bella, Ahyoung Kim - New Writer For Our Newsletter Team
Hello everyone! My name is Bella, Ahyoung Kim from Yr 7, and I have recently joined the Sports Council newsletter team. Although I am thrilled to participate in many sports like running and other field events, I have always been particularly interested in swimming. Hence, I joined our school’s swimming squad at the start of this school year and have been part of it since then. Unfortunately, I have been unable to participate in the Swimming KISAC and other tournaments that took place over the last few weeks due to an injury. Still, participating in the various activities within the Sports Council and discovering more about the marvelous achievements of our school’s sports teams helped me not to feel depressed about not being able to join those events myself. As I am enthusiastic about sports, being part of the sports council and its initiatives suits my passion and is enjoyable. Specifically, writing articles about recent sports news has not only helped me discover more about sports and their influence but also helped me broaden my view of the world. I am indeed delighted to be part of the team, and my articles will be consistently published, so please enjoy!

The Olympics Without Any Spectators? Sharon Yoon
One of the most popular sports competitions worldwide is the ‘Olympics.’ This vibrant and thrilling event is held once every four years in a particular country. Likewise, the 2020 Summer Olympics was also supposed to be held in Tokyo, Japan. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Olympics competition had to be postponed until 2021. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic is still severe in most nations, which led the sports ambassadors of Tokyo and officials from the International Olympic Committee to make the following decision only a few weeks ago: to hold the Tokyo Olympics without any spectators. Now, the Tokyo Olympics is scheduled to be held from the 23rd of July, 2021 to the 8th of August, 2021 in the absence of spectators. The Olympics with hundreds of thousands of spectators we were used to seeing, we will not see this year. Following the decision, over 630,000 tickets that were pre-booked by spectators had to be refunded. On the brighter side, if the Tokyo Olympics take place as scheduled, even if it is held without any spectators, we will still be able to see the sporting stars showing off their startling skills through our television screens.
