House Commendations
24/25 House Captains
At the end of this term we see the transition of the student leadership in Noro House from the Year 11 to the Year 10 students. The Year 11 students will still be an integral part of leading Noro House during term 3, however, they also have their IGCSE Examinations to prepare for. With this we see a co-captaincy between the Y10 and Y11 students. Over the past few weeks, Mr Lim and Ms Torrance have had the privilege of interviewing candidates for the next House Captains. The candidates also produce a video for students to watch and vote for within Noro House along with a detailed letter of application.
It gives us great pleasure to introduce our new House Captains, Chloe and YJ
“Hello Noro, we are Chloe and YJ, the next house captains of Noro. We both joined Noro in Year 7 and this is our 4th year being a member of our wolf pack. During our time in Noro, we represented in a variety of competitions with passion, enthusiasm, and zest We would like to build strong relationships just like one family and become the untouchable wolves. We are looking forward to leading the house towards the victory”
Next term we will be interviewing candidates for a range of leadership roles in Noro House including Vice House Captains; Arts, Sports, Media & Publicity, Assemblies and Events and House Secretary. Watch this space...
Thestrengthofthepackisthewolfandthestrengthofthewolfisthepack. As we approach the end of Term 2, the two of us stand extremely proud of Noro house As not only leaders but also students of the house we have noticed that despite not always achieving the best results in house competitions, we have kept our spirits high In every single event Noro has the most passionate and enthusiastic members. This has really paid off for us as we currently stand at joint 2nd place. With Sports Day on the horizon we are more and more eager to see what Noro will achieve this year! We believe that with hard work we will emerge victorious as a house once again
WooHyeok(Rex)Gwon
This term has been a phenomenon. Numerous numbers of wins, with the contribution of every single member of the house. I felt the passion among the student during the days of house competition and this made me proud wearing the purple shirt and the purple badge on my lanyard every day As we are jointed in the 2nd place position we are aiming to focus on upcoming house competitions, especially the Sports Day, the one that will make the difference between Noro and every other houses in NLCS Jeju. I believe that Noro could lift the shield up once again.
Thestrengthofthepackisthewolfandthestrengthofthewolfisthepack. This academic term, arts in Noro grew from strength to strength with a victory in House Dance. The whole 3-minute dance was choreographed by us (Benjamin Han and Freya Nigam), your Arts and House Captain. Derived from the stimulus Snake and Ladders, one of the most famous board games, we danced to the choreographic intention of showing the impact of human intervention (i.e. poaching) on elephant herds and their struggle to stay together as they lose one another Last but not least, we would like to extend our gratitude towards all other 5 dancers who put immense amounts of dedication and work into learning, adapting and performing the movement Thomas Downes (Y11), Shirley Jang (Y10), Allison Gwak (Y10), Iris Kim (Y10), and Ella Lee (Y9).
First of all, thank you to all students and teachers in Noro. This year has been truly remarkable, surpassing all the expectations and setting a high standard for the next year for house competitions It’s been an unforgettable journey full of achievements, memories and valuable lessons. Throughout the year, we have been privileged enough to witness the remarkable succession of victories of Noro. Each triumph not only brought points and happiness to our community but also served as a testament to our determination, teamwork and dedication. But, perhaps above all, what made this year truly memorable is the laughter that always permeated our house That said, let's carry the positivity and enthusiasm for our remaining house competitions!

House Drama was surely one of my proudest achievements this year Facing the immense workload and subtle changes we had to make, and of course the intimidating 'mocks' ahead of me, I was indeed worried. Yet, despite these concerns, we were able to progress smoothly I am obliged to thank our excellent leaders, Eunri and Reina, for taking on the challenges that I couldn’t have managed alone Regardless of the results, I have no regrets as I can confidently say that every moment of House Drama was filled with joy and thrills. Thank you to everyone who participated and worked together as a wolf pack; you all presented a priceless memory that we all will forever cherish
Every week, participating in the house competition is my favorite thing to do in Noro. Even though we did a lot of events, one of the events I had the most fun was badminton What I remember the most is that my skill improved a lot with that competition, since I was in the top team and that also made me play with skilled players. Not only that, I hosted the E-Sports house competition with my E-Sports enterprise’s leader teams, and I was the sub-leader
This was my first time ever hosting and organizing the event. It was a shame that I couldn’t participate as a part of Noro, but it was also fun to watch the competition This was also a good experience for me because even though I am not participating in the competition, organizing the event as a member of Noro made me proud at the same time. YongHyun(Lucas)Kim
Seoah(Chloe)Kim
I have participated in almost every house competition this year I’ve committed myself wholeheartedly to the success of our house with passion and positively. Understanding the importance of teamwork and collaboration, especially in our recent house competition which was a drone dash, I've tried to actively engage with everyone, offering support, encouragement, and ideas to enhance our chances of victory. Whether it's through organising team-building activities, participating in planning, or participating in sports house competitions, I've consistently demonstrated my dedication to the competitions.

Choisung (James) Park
Choisung has been fully committed to his role as a tour representative, actively engaging in a diverse range of activities Not once has he complained about his responsibilities; instead, he embraces them with enthusiasm and dedication. One notable trait of Choisung is his effort to unify the diverse opinions of all tutees, fostering a sense of cohesion and teamwork within the group This collaborative approach not only enhances the overall experience but also ensures that everyone ' s perspectives are valued and considered Choisung's ability to bring people together exemplifies his exceptional leadership skills and genuine commitment to creating a positive and inclusive environment.

Louis has thrown himself into life at NLCS with enthusiasm, giving his best in house competitions and in all that he does. He is kind and compassionate in his interactions with peers and staff, and thinks of others before himself. Perhaps most notably, he is motivated to improve himself for the sake of it, rather than to recieve accolades and awards, and ironically I feel that deserves the recognition of an award.

Jiyin (Reina) Choi
Reina has made significant contributions to Noro house over the past term with not only her infectious smile and bubbly personality, but her leadership in the House Drama. Throughout this whole process she demonstrated kindess, positivity and resilience. We look forward to seeing you involved more in the house leadership over the next 12 months and to inspire the next drama enthusiasts.
Ms Torrance (Head of House)
Yunseo (Claire) Park
Claire is not the most talkative student, but when she speaks, everyone in the tutor group listens, which is a sign of how highly she is regarded by her peers. She did a fantastic job of directing the House Music and the House Ensemble, both of which required a huge amount of time, effort and perseverance As a leader, she is unflappable under pressure, and this sense of calm rubs off on those around her. She has also thrown herself into various sporting activities in the House competition, which undelines her commitment to Noro.
Mr Lutley (Form Tutor)
Yunseo (Louisa) Kim
Louisa is part of the Noro leadership team and can always be relied upon to contribute towards the marketing sides of things such as designing the Noro newspaper, documenting lip sync video with the junior school and putting together the display boards around the Noro Area. She also has demonstrated probably some of the strongest passion when it comes to every single house competition - I’m pretty sure I have seen her nearly cry at each competition, and if she isn’t crying she is certainly voicing her opinion on the results! I think that is real dedication right there! I want to thank Louisa for her active participation during tutor time, house competition and her overall infectious house spirit - well done and congratulations.
Ms Sultana (Form Tutor)
Yunseo (Louisa) Kim and Yunseon (Rachel) Park not only design the overall newsletter, but add the small details like the cherry blossom on the shield They have done a wonderful job bringing everyone together and sharing the successes of Noro House with our comunity.
