For the first day of the Connect 5 week, the Noro House enjoyed numerous fun games amongst ourselves to increase house spirit and teamwork Students were divided into groups from A to G and participated in games such as rounders, quiz, and delivering eggs on spoon. Such activities provided a pleasant opening to the connect 5 week and enriched the team spirit of Noro house.

This painting displays the intertwined relationship between nature and humanity, symbolised through the dynamic use of a red string. The forest situated on the top gradually transitions into the skyscrapers on the bottom. This transition illustrates the merging of the natural world and human civilization, emphasising how these two domains coexist and influence one another. .In the centre, one giant wolf sits representing the whole wolf pack The fact that the wolf has been united into one figure suggests the trait of strong collaboration of the wolves The wolf holds a red ball of yarn in its mouth and the thread extends to a tiny child on the bottom right Here, the child represents vulnerability, innocence, and the purity of early humanity The red thread tends to symbolise the life span in Asian culture This thread, which connects the wolves (nature) and the child (humanity), emphasises the value of mutual coexistence.

This week saw the return of the KS3 Art competition We had 8 students from Y7 and Y9 represent Noro House during this competition They worked on individual canvases and then bought them together to represent some of the essential vital connections.
Can you guess which piece of art work depicts the following: team work, inclusion, trust and friendship?
Thank you to the following students:

This term and this year have been more than successful for Noro Of course, we did gain outstanding results from various house competitions, but the true value of becoming a unified house ultimately made this year memorable From before I became House Captain to now, there have been significant changes in how students of diverse year groups engage with one another as well as with Noro House. I can see clearly that students are building a passion for the house, always trying to give their best in everything they do and feeling proud of our community More and more students are willing to put their hand up for activities or roles that might seem challenging, and the amount of confidence that we have built up is simply exceptional Next year, we want to continue with this achievement Our aim remains unchanged: to support the passion of each and every student and progress further as a house. It is truly exciting to see where our potential will lead us in the future, and there is no doubt that we will be victorious
This last term has been tight and intense with many things going on from House Art, Connect 5 week, and Sports Day However, the moment passed by will remain long in our memory There have been numerous times where we weren’t able to achieve what we wanted, however, changing failure into opportunity is an important value in order to improve one step further as a whole wolf pack Especially with the house shout, even though it was the first house competition that the Y10 leadership team have led, I was very proud of the effort, energy, and teamwork that every one of you have shown I know that we will become the most powerful and strong wolves in Sports Day where we will be able to win again just like last year. Have a wonderful break and see you all back in August ready to win!
It was such an honour to work with Noro, including the students, teachers, and the leadership team Indeed, there were a series of failures and disappointments which followed with the success we brought all together Nonetheless, I never thought of those times as failure We, as one wolf pack, learned lots of lessons through those failures. Still inexperienced, but we learned how to be one team, not an individual, and how much power such unity can bring to us. Let’s show them how strong we are as a wolf pack
During this term, Noro has achieved remarkable success with our new leadership, despite it being our first time leading the entire house I deeply appreciate every house member, the leadership team, and the teachers for being such wonderful companions as Noro. I am immensely proud of how Noro as we are able to turn challenges into an opportunity to step further Currently, Noro has had an exceptional year in sports, securing first place in token runs and I’m looking forward to getting first place in sports day. I believe there’s nothing impossible if we gather as the strongest wolf pack. Let’s go Noro!
The last term of the 23-24 academic year has provided me with a memorable experience as next year ’ s Noro Arts Captain. I was able to observe the joyful and energetic participation of all noro members, for example, house shout Although it was the first time that the Y10s have lead an entire house competition, I believe that the leadership team has done a great job on working as a group and resulting in a strong unification in Noro. Despite our work, the results were not satisfactory but I am looking forward to converting such bitter experiences into an opportunity to advance forwards For the sports day which would take place at the very last days of this academic year, without doubt, I believe that the wonderful members of Noro will derive fabulous results as an outcome of their hard work and dedication.
Noro’s last term of the 2023 - 2024 Academic year has been busy for all of us Surviving through all the end of year exams and at the same time, actively participating in house competitions, you have shown your great enthusiasm and passion towards Noro. I am very proud of the unity and energy we showed in House Shout All leadership team members were responsible with their roles and all our house members actively engaged in the practices led by Y10s. The house shout was a very special house competition for me as it was the first competition the new leadership team had to lead We might not have been perfect, but you still believed in us and I deeply appreciate it. Despite the results of the house competition, I believe everyone knows that Noro performed the best. I hope all our passion continues further to the next academic year as well Thank you Noro, for all your hard work this term. I hope you have a great summer break, and see you in August.
Noro’s last term was especially exciting for the visual art sector, because it included Arts week. We took part in two visual arts competitions each for KS3 and KS4/5. Over the course of six days, our KS4/5 art students painted a giant mural putting so much effort into the project We associated the concept of “Vital Connections” between the natural and human worlds, symbolised by a wolf and a child linked by a red thread Despite the fact that painting the huge canvas with acrylic paint was a first experience for most of the members, I am glad that we were all dedicated enough to produce a fantastic piece. All members of the KS3 art competition as well had worked hard as well to paint four interrelated pieces in one day They have Noro's core values related to connections: teamwork, inclusion, friendship and trust. Thank you to everyone who participated in the competitions.

In particular, the most memorable activity was rafting In rafting, we went through the torrent all together, shouting ‘One! Two! One! Two!’ in unison. I think it was nice to strengthen our friendship by riding the same boat together
-YrThe hike was the most memorable experience I have had on the trip The idea of reaching the top of the Ulsanbawi Rock was quite intimidating at the beginning, for lots of students including me. I haven’t had the opportunity to hike for a long distance before, nor was I confident to do so This activity, however, has encouraged me to enge myself beyond my limits - while g the time with our close friends at the me. Most of all, it made me feel that I tually achieved something, and pushed myself beyond comfort
