The start of this year was challenging yet victorious for Noro House. Frankly speaking, this Term 1 was indeed truly arduous, with House Singing, Commercial Dance and the Ensemble. Despite this fully-packed schedule, each member of the house was willing to engage with the best of their ability, and we were able to get some great results throughout the entire term. Above all, as the House Captain, it was most satisfying to see students actually enjoy the events they were involved in, trying out different events and searching for new experiences. Certainly, the results are important - but in the long-run, I know that those who enjoy the process are the ones who ultimately gain the greatest outcomes With that being said, there are still a whole lot of exciting events planned for the next two terms: Swimming, House Drama, and (of course) Sports Day. As long as we continue to have our smiles, stay determined, and get together as “the” wolf pack, I will continue to have no doubts for not only our success but also for our growth But Noro, don’t forget that it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Enjoy your break and stay safe, dear wolves :)
This first term of the year was quite intense for many of you with major house competitions all taking place at the same time including House singing, House dance, and House ensemble Even though there were moments where the results were dissatisfying, we tried our best every single moment Whatever the result happened to be, as the House Captain, I was extremely proud of every single one of you challenging yourself and putting all of your effort. We may not start as strong as we thought of but as a one wolf pack, we will be stronger and stronger ending the year with a victory This is just the beginning, we have two more terms to go and we still have lots of house competitions waiting for us to shine. Lastly, I want to say that don’t be afraid to step up and try new things whether it is sports or other academic events. I believe in all of you that we can do it and we make it in the end. See you all in 2025! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Jian (Ella) Lee - Year 10 Noro House Vice Captain
Without any doubt, term one has been a hectic time with numerous house competitions and wonderful performances, including whole house singing and house commercial dance It was truly inspiring to see every member of the house committed to Noro and representing the wolf pack on the stage Regardless of the results, our performances were truly remarkable, showcasing not only our dedication and effort but also the outstanding house spirit and teamwork In house competitions within our year group, it was great to witness everyone cooperating and positively participating in practices and preparations From this positive engagement, we achieved delightful results as a team: 1st place in Capture the Flag, 1st place in Dodgeball, and 2nd place in Public Speaking. I am incredibly proud of all members for putting their best effort into every house competition, and I genuinely appreciate your commitment Let’s keep up this momentum in the following terms as well!

This year ’ s house song was “Somebody to Love” by Queen, led by our 2024-2025 Arts captain Simon Shim We saw amazing improvements in our melody, rhythm and synchronization with the piano (played by Philip Im), and saw dedication within all year groups which we are immensely proud about

sisting tens orgettable experience that can t be replaced by anything and won’t be in the future, too Even though the place that we ’ ve earned might not be the place that we ’ ve wanted, I am confident in saying that it was a genuine success for all of us – both for the leaders and the singers. Every one of us has participated in the event under the name of ‘Noro’ and competed against other houses for our victory. This sense of competition has fostered a house spirit amongst us and thus enabled each of us to be the strength of Noro Based on this ignition of a sense of teamwork, I anticipate that on the last day, Noro will retrieve its 1st place. Again, it was a true pleasure for me to lead the whole house singing along with Simon and to be the accompanist of the choir. I would like to thank every single member of the house including our amazing tutors, Ms Torrance, and Mr Lim for supporting us. Let’s go Noro!!

Sasha Kim - Year 9 Noro House Vice Captain
Term one set the pace for the academic year in a positive way for Y9 Noro House It was moving to see our community embrace the essence of teamwork and devotion as a wolf pack to take on new and complicated tasks and challenges. It was praiseworthy that our enthusiasm and passion were not only manifest on the field, but off the field where we encouraged one another and recognized our collective accomplishments As for the results of Y9 Noro’s efforts this term, they were great We were second in the public speaking contest, won the boys’ quick cricket, and were third in badminton In addition, we were the second in the Scrabble Scramble and in the paper plane contest and did not lose a match on the first day of boys’ football. These results accentuate the indomitable spirit and teamwork that we possess as a unit It is worth pointing out that we have not yet finished lower than third (boys) in any single part of any competition which in itself is a statement that we put a strong emphasis on victory, and inclusion To conclude, it pleases me to say that the Noro Y9 students have displayed great energy, enthusiasm, and perseverance through the entire term. With such a great success as this one, I have no doubt that our wolf pack will attain even greater victories in the times to come We will probably secure victory for the Noro House!
Hannah Cho - Year 9 Noro House Vice Captain
Hello, I’m Hannah Cho, the Year 9 Vice Captain of Noro This term has been an incredible experience, and I am truly proud to serve as Vice House Captain. Being part of such a spirited and supportive team has been a privilege, and I’m glad to contribute to the legacy of Noro I’ve been deeply inspired by the resilience and kindness of our year group During House competitions like badminton and quick cricket, Year 9’s teamwork and determination stood out These moments reflected the strength we have when we come together and support one another. There were also times when the results didn’t meet our expectations, and we felt disappointed. However, these moments became opportunities for us to lift each other up with words of encouragement This support reminded me of Noro’s true spirit, a family that stands strong together, no matter the outcome Being Vice Captain has been a meaningful experience for me this term It has taught me the value of leadership and collaboration while allowing me to connect with my peers. I’m proud to represent such an inspiring house and look forward to seeing what we can achieve together in the future.

Yeonah (Yuna) Kim -Year 8 Noro Vice House Captain
It was a pleasure for me to represent Noro house throughout this entire year As a member of Noro, I will never forget not only the moments of pure glory and joyousness when the judges would announce Noro as the winner, but the process we went through together to achieve our goal Being honest, it wouldn't be right to neglect the ups and downs we rode, but watching all of you getting back up again is what I think defines Noro Whatever the result may be, it won't matter since deep down in ourselves, we will remember the tears of utter joyousness we shed together to prove that we are the true winners Have a nice Winter break:)
Jisang (Jason) Son - Year 8 Noro House Vice Captain
It is always such an honour to lead a group of wonderful wolves who are passionate about house competitions and try their best In every house competition, it is very exciting to see all those eager, fiery eyes who want to participate in the week’s competition Although it is very difficult to satisfy every single person as some people have the chance to participate in a competition while others can’t since there is a strict limitation on the number of people allowed for some competitions, I am trying my best to make sure everyone feels happy and included with the final decisions made from the VHCs.
In Term 1, Y8 Noro students achieved amazing results. So far, we did 1st in Dodgeball, 1st in Public Speaking, 2nd in Scrabble Scramble and 2nd in Game Show. Although our team ended up in 4th or 5th place for Drone Dash, I know that we tried our best, even though I wasn’t there because I wasn’t available due to Musical practice, since I never saw anyone not trying their best in any house competition. As always, I am very glad not just because we achieved great results, but because we tried our best all the time. Wonderful work and let’s keep this up team!

Allison Gwak
Hello Noro, this is your leader of the House commercial dance this year, Allison. I hope this term was an enjoyable term for you The biggest house competitions including the House Dance and the Singing are done, and I’ve truly seen a bright future in our house’s leadership. In the process of preparing for glee this year, I might have been harsh on you or SEEMED to be so during practices. However, I would love it if you all understand and know that I was truly impressed by all your passion and commitment to the house, and my strict instructions and attitudes were only for a better performance and not to hurt you… If your time preparing for Glee was fun, that’s enough and that’s all I wanted I hope I was a good leader for you and it was a great honour to lead our house to achieve first place in glee for the first time in our house’s history. I wish you all an early merry christmas and a happy new year We start 4th, end 1st Thank you!
Iris Kim
First of all, I’m glad we achieved a successful result, 1st place, in our House Commercial Dance representing the Noro house. Every student in our dance peace worked and practiced hard only to make a successful result in our house competition, and I appreciate every one of the students involved in the dance’s hard work towards it. Throughout the process, we could see the students cooperating, helping somebody who was struggling with the movements and even individually practicing during their own time. I hope this effort continues in future dance events for Noro.
It was great to work with all of you!

Michael (Hankyu) Kwon and Jiwon Song
The Y7 Noro Wolf Pack were amazing during house competitions achieving a variety of results led by their endless efforts. As Noro’s house motto, “The strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack” suggests great teamwork within the house, all members of the wolf pack have been able to express their brilliant communication and cooperation skills within the house competitions The previous term provided great opportunities for members of the Noro community to shine in their own way by participating in competitions that they were confident about, and even challenging themselves to go a step further and break through their limits. Even Though we couldn’t achieve the best results, all members of the house encouraged each other to build up on their spirits and kept a crucial fact in their mind; ‘ we can always try better next time’. Instead of criticising each other for their faults and mistakes, the wolves tried to overcome the mistake and encouraged them to try better next time Overall, the Noro wolves were empathetic, courageous and resilient, trying their best to achieve a goal and standing back up as soon as they fell.
