Recognizing Students: Dayjah Thezan By Kamia Thompson

It’s that time of year again when we all choose that one student to be titled as “Student of the Month.” For this month’s nomination, Dr. Mabe, her iPrep World History teacher, nominated Dayjah Thezan to be student of the month. Dayjah is an iPrep freshman with a 4.0 GPA. Dayjah is also known as a leader in class participation and cooperation. She has some extracurricular activities she does after school. She is involved

with Speech and Debate and the Anime Club. A. When Dayjah speaks she gets in that “Speech and Debate” mode, as she stands on her seat and speaks confidently, as if she were the First Lady of the USA. When you have a debate or presentation-like assignment, Dayjah is that one person you would want on your team. Perhaps Dayjah may become class president or even better, Student Government President in the future. She certainly seems qualified for the job. If you want more information on Dayjah, you can meet her yourself. You should be able to see her in the iPrep room most of the day, which is room 118.

Hello Chargers! Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year. I am your Vice Principal, Ms. Montesino. This is my sixteenth year being a proud Charger and I am pleased to say that I am indeed impressed with the wonderful young men & women who are walking these hallways. As you all know, Alberto Carvalho, our Superintendent, has initiated the Values Matter Campaign. Every day, as I walk down the halls, I see so many of you demonstrating these values and so I thought to myself and eventually asked, “What matters to my Chargers?” Here is what some of you said: one senior voiced her opinion that two teachers matter to her --- Ms.Cromartie and Mrs.Bertani, our #1 Charger, Mr.Miliken, said that respect is what matters to him, and Coach Brooks explained that the well-being of the school is what he cares about. A lot of you mentioned that office staff, sports, and school spirit mattered. Whether it is school colors, food, sports or activities, NMB Nation, I am charging you with this….make every moment matter. Have a GREAT year!!!
