Is Facebook Turning Into Snapchat? By Gissel Garcia
On March 28, 2017, Facebook users were able to use the same-alike features that Snapchat has, like short visual stories, effects on the camera, and messages that can disappear. When you open the camera on Facebook you will see that they even have similar filters that can be added to the pictures. Also, these Snapchatlike features are available on Messenger and Instagram, which are owned by Facebook. In 2013, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg tried to buy Snapchat, only to be declined by Snapchat cofounder Evan Spiegel. After that, Facebook created two Snapchat rip-offs that never got famous. Now, Snapchat and Facebook are known as opponents. These new features of Facebook may be working since Snapchat’s stock was down nearly 4% and their growth rate has slowed down.
