West Coast living at Adera’s remix selling fast
A
dera’s newly finished development in North Vancouver is selling quickly.
Construction on the remix project wrapped up recently and many residents have already moved into their new homes. Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Eric Andreasen, is pleased with how the project has turned out. “It’s a great looking building,” he says. “Everyone’s got great comments about living there.” Adera’s remix features 60 residential apartments atop a vibrant social hub of 10 retail units. Only a handful of homes are still up for grabs. Conveniently located at 733 West 14th Street, just off Southwest Marine Drive, Adera’s remix enjoys a location that’s perfect for West Coast living.

It’s an homage to Adera’s restoration of nearby Mosquito Creek, an active salmon spawning site. “It’s a fantastic public art piece,” says Andreasen. “Probably the best we’ve ever commissioned.” The piece, called “Coming Home” was created by Granville Island artists Michael Vandermeer and Cheryl Hamilton. Since its unveiling at the
grand opening, the sculpture has received public admiration. “People slow down as they drive by to get a look,” Andreasen says. “It’s like a landmark now.” Now that construction on remix is complete, Adera expects remaining units to sell fast. “There’s a great selection still available,” says Andreasen. This is a great recipe that uses root beer as an alternative to the classic beer can chicken. Brining in root beer will add sweetness and complexity to the flavour of the meat that will have everyone asking for more!

1 1/2 cups of brine - we recommend Jules & Kent Daily Brine Denzel’s Root Beer BBQ Sauce Your favourite root beer
PREPARATION Simmer the Daily Brine in 1 litre of water, then set aside and allow to cool. Thoroughly rinse a fresh whole chicken and place in a large stock pot with the cooled brine liquid. Add root beer to completely cover the chicken and use a plate to weigh it down. Refrigerate for 12-16 hours, then remove from brine and rinse thoroughly, then pat dry. Soak 4 handfuls of hickory wood chips for 2 hours. Open 1 can of root beer and pour out half of the soda. Place in a beer can roaster and then slide the chicken cavity over the can. Drain the wood chips and add them to the hot coals or smoker box.
