THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS begins on Nov. 28 with a tree lighting ceremony at the Summit Lodge. The event includes classic carolling, performances by Sea to Sky singers and a family-style fondue dinner. Santa parks his sleigh on the peak for two special appearances in early December. Families can enjoy a pancake breakfast, get photos and share their Christmas lists with the big man, Dec. 6 and 7. Cap off a day of weekend winter fun with the Gondola’s candlelight dinner series, running Friday and Saturday nights throughout December. “Your gondola ticket is good for the day and into the evening on candlelight and fondue dinner nights,” says Allan. “You can make a whole adventure out of it.” Served up long-table style, the dinners will feature delectable winter menus with great shared selections such as platters and fondue. “The chef is doing an amazing job with the winter menus, preparing cozy winter fare,” says Allan. “We think it’s going to be really unique.”

The gondola whisks visitors up to stunning panoramic views of Howe Sound and a bevy of winter activities. Christy Allan, Director of Sales and Marketing at Sea to Sky, says visitors from the gondola’s inaugural season will definitely want to check out the attraction during its first winter season. “Everything changes with the snowy landscape,” she says. “It’s going to be a different experience up there in the winter.” Enjoy a winter walk in a place where sparkling snow meets spectacular views. Rediscover the joy of winter and go for a slide in the new four-lane tube park. Venture out along an extensive network of snowshoeing trails. Experience pristine backcountry trails – recommended for experienced backcountry enthusiasts only.

The gondola’s winter season launches Nov. 27 and lasts until April 30. The gondola is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday to Sunday and stat holidays. Open daily from Dec. 19 to Jan. 4. Do the holidays give you heartburn? The holiday season is around the corner, and with it brings chances to indulge in rich foods and drinks. If you suffer from digestive complaints, these social occasions and temptations can be difficult for the digestive system to handle.
