North Shore Taekwondo takes a powerful approach to their teachings. Not only does the centre teach martial arts, it also focus on monthly themes that highlight the tenants of those teachings.
The thematic approach is also used in the summer camps, with daily themes focusing on topics like how to respond to bullying behaviour. According to Kook, the program focuses on bullying behaviour rather than “bullies” as bullying behaviour can come from a variety of different sources, even friends.
Each camp lasts one week, running daily from 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

PREPARATION Apply a thin coating of grape seed oil all over the rack. Rub on your favorite dry rub – we recommend the House of Q rub. Set up your grill for indirect heat and find your sweet spot temperature of 220 F. Place the rack on the indirect grill, close the lid and cook for 4 hours, turning occasionally. Your ribs will be fantastic as is or you can increase the heat, move over the direct heat and baste with your favorite glaze – we recommend House of Q Apple Butter – cook for just 10 minutes more over a 350 F heat.
