Hair today, gone tomorrow Janet Christie understands the frustration of unwanted body hair better than most; she’s experienced the daily struggle with body hair first-hand. It’s what drove her to become a laser hair removal technician. Christie has had hirsutism, or excessive hair. She remembers her mother having to bleach her hair from a very early age. Discovering laser hair removal was a turning point for her. “It’s changed my life,” she says. “The beauty of our laser machine is that we can perform a number of different treatments,” says Christie. “The hand piece used never touches your skin, making it more hygienic between clients. Cynosure Elite, in my opinion, is the Rolls Royce of laser machines.” Christie’s daughter, Sarah Christie-Manvell, works with her at Bodyside. She performs some of the laser treatments and manages the day to day administration of the clinic. “She’s been trained by me so we do things very similarly,” says Christie. “I like people to just understand that they are an individual here and their treatments will be programed according to them as a person.” Body Laser Clinic offers treatments not only for hair removal, but also for skin rejuvenation, pigmentation, spider veins, pore reduction and nail fungus.

INGREDIENTS 3 zucchini 3 tablespoons butter, softened 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

PREPARATION

• Cut the zucchini in half crosswise, then slice each half into 3 slices lengthwise, making 6 slices per zucchini. • Mix the butter, garlic, and parsley in a bowl, and spread the mixture on both sides of each zucchini slice. • Sprinkle one side of each slice with Parmesan cheese, and place the slices, cheese sides up, crosswise on the preheated grill to keep them from falling through.
