NORTH BEER CLUB

We’ll start off with a much need apology this month. We’ve made some much needed changes to our subscription platform to give you guys a better service, give you more control over your upcoming boxes, and to bring in more membership perks.

This has caused a lot of confusion and delay to June’s box as we migrated over to this new system, which has meant we haven’t given our Beer Club members the service they deserve. For that, we’re really sorry and promise that we’ll do better going forward.

There’s more about the changes to your subscription later in the booklet, but as an apology for last month and a sincere thank you for your continued support, there’s also a £20 voucher enclosed to get some cans for the fridge off the Webshop or to get a round in at any of our venues.

As always, we’ll continue to get as many of the freshest new and upcoming specials as possible into every month’s box, even if it means we have to take the cans straight off the canning line on the day of dispatch.

A variety of cracking releases this month, from a beautiful new TFG flavour to an imperial stout from Field Recordings that has a gorgeously complex depth of flavour from a blend of barrels and vanilla additions. Pinata has new clothes for the first time ever (boozy Lilt anyone?), and we’ve included both a fresh OG and it’s summer variation for you to compare.

On the hoppy front, we’ve a soft bright IPA with Spanish friends Oddity and super fresh Lost Cosmonauts which is tasting all kinds of fantastic. Telstar is now joining the core range so a fresh batch makes its way into July’s box, and Gold members are further treated to one of our absolute favourite summer staples that’s just bursting with elderflower and gooseberry goodness; Burning Sky’s Saison Été.

Brewed with our pals from Oddity over in Spain, who are known for their soft-spoken hoppy beers. Together we decided to go hop forward with a DDH IPA, using 18g/litre.

Smooth, refreshing and full of tropical flavours. Starting off with a grist of wheat and barley to create a soft and luscious body to showcase the combination of New Zealand and US hops. There’s a punch of grapefruit, sweet mango and lime on the first sip, from Waimea and Citra hops. Finishing with a little Simcoe and Kohatu, bringing a satisfying freshly crushed pine needle and waxy lime zest.

Style Barrel Aged Stout with Toasted Madagascan Black Vanilla

Hops Columbus

We’ve had an Imperial Stout resting in wooden barrels, tucked away at Springwell for over nine months, taking on the most beautiful flavours from rum, whisky and bourbon oak casks. We sourced the finest vanilla from an independent farm in the heart of Madagascar, toasting it lightly before blending the stout from these barrels into tank to condition on the vanilla. Giving this barrel aged stout all the time it needed to develop the unctuous and decadent flavours.

Rich, boozy, dessert cherry flow into tones of slick dark chocolate, spiced fruit cake and lavish toasted vanilla. Finishing with a sophisticated balance of lingering cacao and bitter molasses. Our most refined barrel aged imperial stout from Field Recordings.

The name and design. New Alphabet is the name of the font designed by Wim Crouwel in 1967. According to Wim the font was “overthe-top and never meant to be really used.” Despite this it found it’s way onto the cover design of Substance by Joy Division. The angles and shapes within the label design are lifted from that font as nod of appreciation to Mr Crouwel’s beautifully difficult font.

Style Triple Fruited Gose + White Guava + PInk Guava + Mango

As voted for by you, this is a rebrew of a TFG all the way back from 2019. Our signature thick, slick and salty gose recipe comprised of a big dose of oats, ale malt, salt and a sprinkle of lactose is infused with ALL of the organic fruit puree! There’s a special harmony in the way the sweet, zingy guava interacts with the salinity of the beer’s base that makes this TFG extra special. It’s a plethora of sherbety tart of sweet sappy tropical flavour and aroma. A true delight, and if we’re honest, the one we were hoping you’d vote for.

Whilst TFG flavour combinations normally don’t resurface, this one (chosen by you!) was loved so much by Indian restaurant royalty Dishoom that they asked to stock it year round. This means we have a fresh batch for Gold members to compare to July’s new flavour!

Are you ready? TFG is back with an abundance of fruit that creates a party on the palate.

In our 26th edition we’ve combined guava, peach, lemon and hibiscus on our signature, slick salty gose base. Overripe peach ensnares your senses, with a burst of sherbet tartness on the first sip, thanks to the lemon and guava. The sweet, soft peach takes over before finishing with a delicate woody spice from the addition of dried hibiscus flowers.

Style Pineapple + Pink Grapefruit Pale Ale

Hops Azacca + Citra + El Dorado + Talus + Sabro

Summer is here with a brand new edition of Pinata. Bringing vibrant tropical flavours of Pineapple and Pink Grapefruit to this zingy special, ready to sit back in the sunshine and refresh the senses on those warm summer evenings.

Additions of Azzaca, Talus and Pink Grapefruit in the whirlpool to bring those aromas of summers on the beach, zesty and tropical waves of orange, grapefruit and peach. We created this summer edition using our signature Pinata double blending, combining the two tanks before packaging. Sharp pink grapefruit juice and sweet pineapple bring that juicy goodness to the first tank. Whilst the second tank got the dry-hop treatment: loaded with Citra, El Dorado, Azzaca, Talus Cryo and Sabro. These hops provide waves of tropical and stone fruits, complimenting the pineapple and pink grapefruit with a hint of coconut on the finish. Like Lilt™, but beer!

PIÑATA

Style Mango + Guava Pale Ale

Hops Citra + Azzaca + Mosaic

4.5%, juicy and hoppy, Piñata has got it all! It’s had a few recipe changes over the years but now we’ve got it right where we want it. Unfortunately for us, it’s actually a very complicated process to make Piñata.

We fill two separate tanks with the same base beer, one gets a steady dry hop of Citra, Azacca and Mosaic, the other gets pumped full of Kesar Mango and Guava purée. Once each beer is mixed, we chill the tanks down to settle out any solids, then blend the two beers into one big tank to make the supremely juicy party you’re about to experience. Tasty right? All that trouble is totally worth it in the end.

TELSTAR

Style Pale Ale

Hops Citra + Mosaic + Galaxy + Motueka

This super sessionable pale is pillowy soft, with a wheat heavy grist that creates a rounded base for the hops really sing. The most iconic hop duo, Citra and Mosaic make up the fore front of flavours for this Pale, with notes of bright tropical fruits and crushed citrus zest. Delightfully balanced with zesty Amarillo and spicy Chinook, bringing a satisfying light bitterness to finish. Your favourite IPAs made small, with a low ABV for those Summer sessions.

LOST COSMONAUTS

Hops Mosaic + Ekuanot + Columbus

This hazy, hoppy IPA is packed with Mosaic, Ekuanot and Columbus hops, providing piney aroma and tropical, stone fruit flavours. Beer Club Notes Lost Cosmonauts has been a part of the North family for a while now. An unsung hero of our regular brews, we’re putting it in the Beer Club spotlight to show it some love! Since we first brewed it back in March 2019 we’ve been tweaking and adjusting the recipe to bring it to where it is now. We started building the recipe from our beloved Transmission, adjusting the alcohol content and dry hopping schedule to a double dry hop to amp up the profile! Loaded with the iconic Mosaic and backed up with Ekuanot and Columbus, it covers a lot of ground on the flavour scale. Fresh piney aroma and flavour are upfront and rounded off with bags of intense sharp tropical pineapple and guava and rich apricot and mango stone fruit. It’s always a good day at the brewery when Lost Cosmonauts is making its way into cans, the underfill box doesn’t last long.

BURNING SKY SAISON ÉTÉ

This limited seasonal beer has been brewed with fresh elderflowers picked from the hedgerows in the countryside around the brewery. It was then aged on whole gooseberries which, combined with our Saison and wild yeast strains, gives a tart, thirst quenching taste. Perfect for the summer!

2 NO GAP BETWEEN BILLING AND DISPATCH

Billing and dispatch now happen on the same day, the second Monday of the month.

Please note. If it means we can get a new release, fresh off the canning line and straight into your box instead of it being sat in the cold store for a month, we may delay dispatch by a day.

3 FUTURE MEMBERSHIP PERKS
