HELLO! Welcome to April’s North Beer Club boxes. This month sees some amazing collabs hitting your boxes. Seb visited our friends at Vault City to brew a playful twist on our TFG series. Watch out, it hides its abv very well..! Alex headed down south to visit Drop Project to brew a Cold IPA. He then joined them for some drinks at their local, which managed to sell an entire pallet of North beer in a week! Elsewhere we have been working hard on planning a summer of events at our venues in

Leeds. Remember when we said we were going to hold a beer festival last year? And then we were still in various stages of lockdown? Guess what! We’re doing it this year, and it looks like it will actually happen. Save the dates - 23–25 September. Some amazing UK breweries. Street food. Natural Wine. Sunshine. THIS MONTH AT SPRINGWELL HAS LOOKED A LITTLE SOMETHING LIKE THIS…

FIELD RECORDINGS Field Recordings is an experimental brewery creating new drinks that represent our interests, passions and long history with beer. Our first release, A Hymn for the Fields, is a nod to North Bar’s love of Belgian beer.

NORTH x ST GEORGE’S CRYPT

We launched our new charity partnership with St George’s Crypt. They are a Leeds based charity who support the homeless and vulnerable in society. We’ve set ourselves a target of £25k in 12 months, and naturally we brewed a beer to get the ball rolling. Find it in your subscription boxes this month.

Finally! This one took a long time to happen! After pouring together at many festivals over the years, we finally got a collab date in the diary. Mark came over and we started cooking a West Coast Pils. This one needs a good while in the tanks, but will be coming to your beer boxes this summer.


TEAM MATT LIVED IN A SNOWHOLE! Matt and Matt took on the Snowhole Challenge to raise money for Mind in Bradford. They completed a three day trek across the Cairngorms, braving sub-zero temperatures, ascending 1309m and digging their very own snowhole to sleep in. Together with 3 others, they raised over £4K to support the amazing work that Mind does in supporting mental health.

PIÑATA Style

Mango + Guava Pale Ale

There is a lot of buzz in the brewery for Piñata’s new core range look. Not only does the label look dazzling, but for the first time Piñata has made its way into a 440ml can! If you’ve never drank Piñata before, welcome to the most sessionable summer beach party you’ve ever come across. If you’re familiar, welcome back to the party! 4.5%, juicy and hoppy, Piñata has got it all! It’s had a few recipe changes over the years but now we’ve got it right where we want it. Unfortunately for us, it’s actually a very complicated process to make Piñata. We fill two separate tanks with the same base beer, one gets a steady dry hop of Citra, Azacca and Mosaic, the other gets pumped full of Kesar Mango and Guava pureé. Once each beer is mixed, we chill the tanks down to settle out any solids, then blend the two beers into one big tank to make the supremely juicy party you’re about to experience. Tasty right? A soft and straight drinking Session IPA full of bright summer flavour. Honeydew melon and fleshy pear upfront with a peachy back tone and a lasting Tangerine zest finish! For every pint and can sold North Brewing Co are donating 10p to our charity partner, St. George’s Crypt. An incredible Leeds based charity who provide food, emergency housing, rehab support, wellbeing support and healthcare to the homeless and vulnerable in Leeds.

NORTH x THICCC SAUCE Style

Chilli Choc Stout

We’ve hooked up with Leeds’ finest sauce slingers, Thiccc Sauce to collaborate on a Mexican mole inspired chocolate + chilli stout. A selection of speciality malts and loads of chocolate malt provide an insanely smooth and rich, dark base. Believe us when we say, it is REALLY chocolaty! Thiccc Sauce brought the heat, providing Pasilla, Chipotle, Ancho and Mulato for the brew. We toasted and deseeded the peppers before soaking them in the stout in our hop cannon, sending the beer back into the tank and repeating the process until the spice was nice! We finished off the beer by infusing cacao nibs, vanilla and cinnamon to round it all off and heighten the chocolatey base. Deliciously smooth chocolate and fudge kick it all off, with a roasty line through the middle and a mild, sweet and smoky heat that builds throughout! VEGAN / CONTAINS BARLEY

Talus + Nelson Sauvin + Hallertau Blanc

Pilsner malt and wheat mashed at a low temperature begin by making a rounded beer with a dry finish. Dry hopped with Nelson Sauvin from New Zealand, German Hallertau Blanc and a small addition of US Talus in the whirlpool, we’ve co-pitched traditional farmhouse saison yeast and wine yeast nutrient, they both boost the vinous flavours of the hops and bring a light tartness and full body. The result is a hybrid between a Belgian classic, a NEIPA and a sweet wine. Light stone fruit flavour upfront with tones of grass, fresh vanilla and a coarse mineral finish.

This is a laid back and sessionable pale ale made for no fuss drinking. A blend of pale malt, caramalt and wheat makes for a smooth and chewy body that leads to a crisp and satisfying bitterness and subtle fruit flavour from Cascade and Columbus hops.

Constellations is our debut at ASDA stores. Starting with a grist of pale malt, oats and wheat we’ve made a full, rounded and slightly dry base for El Dorado, Simcoe and Citra hops to shine. Together they bring a splendour of fleshy pineapple, zesty pink grapefruit, juicy cantaloupe flavour! Tasty right? If you’re finding your subscription box running a little dry of juice towards the end of the month, lucky for you can pick one (or two) from ASDA!

Our pals at North Brewing Co. are renowned pioneers of the British craft beer scene, and they know a thing or two about Triple IPAs. For this collaboration, we decided we can go big or go home… Introducing our Triple Fruited TIPA with guava, pineapple, and passion fruit. In this one-of-a-kind release, you’ll find our signature mixed fermentation base beer, heavily fruited and triple dry-hopped with a combination of Citra, El Dorado, Talus and Sabro, accentuating the intensely juicy, tropical flavours of guava, pineapple and passion fruit.

DROP PROJECT x NORTH LINK-UP Style

Cold IPA

This 5.8% Cold IPA was brewed in our lovely Mitcham home with Leeds legends North Brewing, this is a really interesting and different beer. A little history on this beer style, don’t mistake Cold IPAs for India Pale Lagers. Whereas IPL’s depend on the lager yeast, moderate hops, and a crisp finish with straw-togold colour, Cold IPAs aren’t afraid to unleash the hops and crank up the ABV with a crystalclear clarity. To top off these chilly IPAs, look to adding new world hop varieties rather than the traditional old world hops you’d see in everyday lagers. Its crispy, clean, and dry with a wallop of forward zesty hops.


STILLWATER NEW SENSATION Style

International Pale Ale is our take on the everpopular IPA style that expands the concept to implore technique and ingredients from around the world. A lush blend of English malts and flaked grains are heavily hopped with varietals from the US (Citra), NZ (Nelson + Moteuka) + DE (Hallertau Blanc) all forged together by Norwegian farmhouse yeast.

“We love the outdoors and enjoying nature to the max, whether we are in the sea or in the mountains. Since our formation, our green mandate has been central to everything we do. With an Eco conscious mindset, we are attempting to create as little a negative impact on the world as possible when brewing. Spent

grain is recycled into local agricultural as animal feed and recently reduced C02 usage in the brewery by 90%. We have a one tree one brew policy, where we have committed to planting a tree for every batch brewed. At our Mitcham Taproom, every 100 pints you drink, we plant one tree. We are by no means perfect, but we are trying…”
