Springwell Sessions: Spring Edition 2023 Programme

Page 1

PROGRAMME

WELCOME

We have invited some of our closest friends from across the UK and Europe to come and pour their beers with us here in Leeds. We want to say a special thank you to our friends from Fuerst Wiacek travelling from Berlin, Basqueland travelling from Spain and To Øl travelling from Denmark to join us at the event.

Each brewery has brought an exciting line up of sessionable pales and lagers and limited edition specials. The Springwell Tap bar will be pouring a whole host of North beers – keep your eyes open for some first pours – alongside beers from our US friends Stillwater and alcohol free options from BRULO.

We are also incredibly excited to host our friends from Bottle Chop, who run a gorgeous wine shop and deli in Headingley, and are bringing a selection of natural wines to the festival.

The North Bar team will be mixing and shaking their way through a small but perfectly curated cocktail list, Laynes Espresso are on coffee duty and we have street food traders set up in the beer garden.

The warehouse team have done an epic job making space for our series of talks and tastings that will be running all weekend. These were a real highlight of last year’s event and we can’t wait to attend them this year!

Springwell Sessions is being run in support of our partner charity St George’s Crypt with £1 from every ticket being donated to the charity. Look out for the pay as you feel beer tastings, raffle tickets and donation buckets around the festival!

HOW DO I BUY BEERS?

Please purchase beer tokens when you arrive at Springwell. These can be spent at every brewery bar, and the main Springwell bar. Buying food, wine or coffee? Use your card!

ARE DOGS ALLOWED?

Of course! Well behaved dogs are very welcome. Many sessions have sold out, and the festival will be busy so we ask that all dogs are kept on a lead. We also can’t allow dogs on to the brewery floor so please keep them in the taproom and beer garden.

THESE TASTINGS SOUND GREAT –HOW DO I ATTEND ONE?

CAN I BUY SOME BEER TO TAKE HOME WITH ME?

All our tastings and talks are running on a first come first served basis in the warehouse. Tickets can be paid for with your tokens at the warehouse entrance.

Of course! Our pop up bottle shop can be found in the downstairs office. Beers (and merch) can be paid for with tokens or card payments.

WHEN WILL LAST ORDERS BE?

I’VE GOT SOME TOKENS LEFT! WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Last orders will be called 30 minutes before the end of each session.

Either spend your leftover tokens on takeaway beers or merchandise, or drop them in our St George’s Crypt collection buckets.

At North Brewing, we’ve always been passionate about giving back to our community and doing what we can to make a positive impact. That’s why we’re so excited to support St George’s Crypt, an incredibly important local charity. We’ve brewed beers, cycled and run a lot of miles, hosted all sorts of events and even shaved our heads!

St George’s Crypt is a Leeds based charity offering care, compassion and hope to the homeless, the vulnerable, and those suffering from substance dependence. 365 days a year.

YOU CAN GIVE TO ST. GEORGE’S CRYPT HERE

Every ticket bought for the Springwell Sessions included a £1 donation to St George’s Crypt – adding an extra £2000 to our total!

Throughout the weekend we will be running a series of charity beer tastings in the warehouse. These tastings are running on a ‘pay as you feel’ basis, with a suggested donation of £5 (payable with your tokens) into the charity bucket.

The taproom team will also be running a raffle all weekend long. Head to the taproom bar to buy your tickets with the team!

When we opened the taproom at Springwell we wanted some excellent food to pair with our beers. In came Kerbside Kids. We’re biased but we think they’re the best burgers in the city. Smashed patties, homemade sauces and crispy chips!

The boys from MorMor have turned their heads towards Mexico. Expect tonnes of fresh flavours, mind melting tacos and a little bit of spice!

Real Italian streetfood brought to you by the team behind Meanwood’s Culto. Don’t miss out on their homemade arancini!

Bottle Chop is a fantastic wine shop in Far Headingley. They are based in the former Beer Ritz shop, working towards the aim of making natural wine accessible to everyone.

In their own words:

“It’s quite simple really, it’s just wine made the way it was always meant to be, without intervention and the addition of any crap. It’s vegan, organic and often even biodynamic. It’s grape juice... really really great grape juice.”

Laynes Espresso is an independently owned coffee shop and brunch destination on New Station Street in Leeds. The team have been flexing their incredible dedication to all things coffee for 11years, progressing from a small espresso shop to fully fledged food destination.
