FOREWORD
From time to time I like to celebrate – both with my nearest and dearest and also with my team at Northrop & Johnson – and this year has certainly been a year for celebrations. Not only am I celebrating 40 years in this fantastic industry, I am celebrating a new position at the helm of Northrop & Johnson as our President & Chief Commercial Officer. This year we are also celebrating 75 years of Northrop & Johnson’s existence as a company. To work here is an absolute privilege, and one that none of us at Northrop & Johnson takes for granted. Instead, we continuously evolve our client offerings to ensure that we stay ahead of the game. We are, after all, a service industry, and it is you, our clients, whom we exist to serve.
According to a McKinsey report released earlier this year, the luxury travel industry has always had to evolve its offerings in order to satisfy the aspirations of discerning travelers. “Personalization, exclusivity, and sustainability are expected to remain central to the luxury travel sector, paving the way for increasingly sophisticated and impactful experiences.” Fantastic. We are certainly in the right sector then. What other vacation is there that is as personalized and exclusive as a superyacht charter? Here we are in the run-up to the holiday season, ready to do just that and deliver you a personalized, sophisticated, and impactful experience.
With our inventory of charter and brokerage yachts, there are so many opportunities to have your own celebrations and enjoy luxury vacations in whichever corner of the globe you choose. On the pages ahead, our charter experts give their advice on the best yachting experiences available and where to enjoy them. We also step aboard the charter yacht GLADIATOR for a custom tour and discuss many of the other offerings available in the charter fleet.
We’ll explore some of the epic ways to celebrate while on board your yacht, and offer gift ideas for just about everyone on your list. Of course, we also have our usual features on style, auto, jewelry, and watches, but all very much with a holiday twist. Whatever your holiday plans, we’ve got you covered.
I genuinely hope you enjoy this issue and feel inspired to make your yachting dreams a reality. We are here to help make it happen. Happy Holidays to you all; let’s continue the celebration!

Northrop & Johnson discusses the yachting trends making waves
NAVIGATING SUCCESS
Navigator Knows
As Northrop & Johnson celebrates 75 years at the top its game, Navigator talks to Chairman Kevin Merrigan and President & Chief Commercial Officer Cromwell Littlejohn about the story behind the Gentleman’s Brokerage turned marketing powerhouse.
THE EXPERTS
Kevin Merrigan Chairman
The story of Northrop & Johnson may have begun in New York City, but it was Newport, Rhode Island, the American home of yachting, where Kevin began his maritime career 37 years ago. As Chairman, Kevin has taken the company to new levels, but what has always remained is its focus on honesty, integrity, and fair play.
Cromwell Littlejohn President & Chief Commercial Officer
Cromwell Littlejohn has weathered many a storm during his extensive and diverse career in yachting. His 40-plus years’ experience in many sectors of the industry, combined with no small degree of excellent business acumen, has helped build Northrop & Johnson into the leading superyacht powerhouse that it is today.
How has Northrop & Johnson changed over the years?
Kevin When I joined Northrop & Johnson, we had a reputation as being a “Gentleman’s Brokerage” with the focus on honesty, integrity, and fair play. I am exceptionally proud that our excellent reputation continues today, and I have no doubt that given the quality of our people, our stellar reputation will continue for the next 75 years.
Crom Thanks to Northrop & Johnson stalwarts like Kevin, the company retains its reputation for being a trustworthy and honest brokerage house. However, it has also grown into a marketing powerhouse, leading the industry through technological and marketing acumen. Today, we have 11 offices around the world and over 240 talented people working to provide the highest quality yachting experience. In-house we have dedicated video, marketing, partnership, technical management, IT, deep data, legal, accounting, crew placement, wholesale and retail charter, and of course, new build, purchase, and sales departments. We believe all of these in-house skills enable us to be at the forefront of providing a well-integrated and enjoyable customer experience.
How has yachting changed as an industry in the 30-plus years that you have been involved?
Kevin Yachting was a very small community when I started. It was years before I got a seat at the “adult table” sitting side-byside with the outstanding brokers of the time. Having participated in various yachting organizations, such as the International Yacht Broker’s Association (IYBA), Mediterranean Yacht Broker’s Association (MYBA), Leading Yacht Broker’s Association (LYBRA), and California Yacht Broker’s Association (CYBA), it has been a pleasure being involved in the growth and refinement of the industry. When I started, a $100,000 deal was significant. Today, a multi-million-dollar transaction is not unusual; the industry has grown to be able to safely and efficiently manage large deals with excellent client protection.
The technical and safety aspects have improved significantly. Yachts continue to run more predictably, safely, and professionally. There is a high level of personnel training, technological advances, and propulsion advances minimizing environmental impact. Safety standards are much more like commercial aircraft standards now. Safety protocols are constantly monitored, evaluated, and improved.
Crom Superyachts have come a long way over the past 75 years, not only in terms of safety and the evolution of design during this period, but in the sheer number of yachts on the water. This last decade alone, we have seen prevalent developments toward zero-emission yachting and I believe the next few decades will see some of the most ambitious leaps forward that the industry has ever seen.
Kevin What hasn’t changed is the comradery and lending assistance in times of need. Hurricanes, floods, medical emergencies, you still see yachtsmen around the world pitching in to help. This is a community where you can feel at home anywhere in the world where there is water and a boat. I am incredibly grateful to be a part of this family.
Northrop & Johnson has become part of the larger MarineMax Superyacht Division. How do you see this affecting existing Northrop & Johnson clients?
Crom Quite simply, being part of the global superyacht powerhouse permits us to leverage client-facing assets no other firm can offer. This ability ensures that our loyal clients receive the most comprehensive service for all their yachting needs, from a trusted, knowledgeable source.
Do you have a particular ethos that you like to promote at Northrop & Johnson that differentiates it as a company?
Kevin We pride ourselves, and work tirelessly, to create an extraordinary yachting experience. The reputation and success of Northrop & Johnson relies on our people. Every member of the NoJo team is vitally important in facilitating our clients’ enjoyment of yachting to the fullest. Our people are honest, knowledgeable, and without a doubt, the most valuable part of Northrop & Johnson. Without our team, we would not enjoy the reputation and success we are so proud of today, and I never would have been able to enjoy this wonderful journey.
Crom Northrop & Johnson differs from other brokerage houses with our team-like mentality. We understand that strong relationships within the company are as important as those with our clients, ensuring that we can ultimately provide extraordinary service. We are much more dynamic and forward-thinking in our use of technology and data than the great majority of brokerage companies thanks to the strength of MarineMax; smaller firms simply don’t have the resources to compete in this area. With these strengths, and the enormous firepower our parent company brings, we can’t wait to see what the next 75 years reveal!
How is Northrop & Johnson adapting to new markets?
Crom Northrop & Johnson has always been at the forefront of technological evolutions, setting the bar for demand generation. We recognized early on the importance of focusing on the experience that yachting can deliver rather than simply concentrating on the yachting real estate. Whether clients are looking for a multigenerational family charter or they are firsttime owners looking to explore the world with a young family, our team of experts recognizes that owning or chartering a yacht is about far more than simply advising on the most suitable yacht. It’s also about creating moments, looking at each individual with a fresh perspective, and bringing the yachting experience to life. Our teams do much more than simply meeting their clients’ requirements.
What new markets will Northrop & Johnson be targeting in the next year or two?
Crom Northrop & Johnson is currently the fastest-growing yacht brokerage in Europe and Asia. We fully entered the European market five years ago and have made exceptional headway there in a short period. We have also been in the Asia-Pacific region since 2011 and are currently growing our teams and footprint in this area. While it’s currently not a huge growth market we think it will be soon. We also have plans for the Middle East. Watch this space.
“Our people are knowledgeable, honest, thoughtful, and without a doubt, the most valuable part of Northrop & Johnson”

One for All Seasons
Over the next few years we can expect to see big changes in The Bahamas with a number of exciting new developments coming to fruition. Opening in 2026, the highly anticipated Montage Cay leads the pack. The 53-acre private-island resort in the Abaco Islands is set to become the hottest destination for the superyacht crowd visiting The Bahamas. Whether you’re looking for a place to winter your yacht, or to spend a few days while cruising through the turquoise waters of the Abacos, the property’s protected deepwater marina has 47 slips for yachts up to 110’ (33m). What is more, guests on the island –including those arriving by yacht – have access to a wealth of luxurious offerings, including seven beaches, hotel amenities with several dining options, the Spa Montage, swimming pools, and a fitness center. We suspect Montage Cay will quickly earn a top spot on that Bahamian bucket list. montage.com

A Caribbean Hotspot
Everyone loves an island hideaway and for many years The Hut on the U.K.’s Isle of Wight has been a destination of choice for yacht owners and day trippers coming from England’s south coast. Now it’s the turn of the Caribbean island of Antigua to get the same treatment, in a slightly more exotic locale, with the opening of The Hut‘s sister restaurant, The Hut Little Jumby. Opening this fall, the private island beach club and restaurant will no doubt become a firm favorite destination for the superyacht set cruising the Leeward Island chain. The Hut Little Jumby is located off Antigua’s north coast, between the mainland and its sister island, Jumby Bay Island. thehuts.com

With the Paris Olympics, the U.S. presidential election, and everything in-between, 2024 has already been quite a year. See it out - and ring in 2025 a bit - with these fantastic, can’t-miss global cultural events.
WORDS MIKE ESPINDLE
Art Basel Miami Beach
Miami Beach, Florida
December 6-8, 2024
Art Basel Miami Beach is, and will be, seen on lists of top end-of-year cultural calendars pretty much in perpetuity (case in point, it features in Navigator’s annual Holiday What’s On column later in this issue). That is because, while intriguing competition is always growing, it remains as the top American (if not arguably, global) art show in existence. Even in the pre-final planning stages, we can report that significant work and artists representing the best of modern and contemporary art will arrive in sunny Florida from five continents. The main Galleries sector hosts no less than 283 important global galleries and the work they choose to bring to the show, from Spain’s 1 Mira Madrid showroom to the bi-coastal David Zwirner Gallery. Meridians, the show’s platform for large-scale installations, is being curated by outgoing Director of Portikus and Rector of Frankfurt’s Hochschule für Bildende Künste-Städelschule Yasmil Rayond; expectations are running high on her curation. Galleries spotlighting the best of new artists creating new work in the past three years can be found in the Nova sector, and conversely, new, young galleries get a solo artist focus in the Positions channel of the show. A more historical retrospective can be found in the Survey sector, while the Kabinett program pulls focus on galleries hosting more unique, harder-to-find exhibitions. And, of course, you can expect lively seminars, panel discussions, and talks in the Conversations programming of Art Basel Miami. artbasel.com/miami-beach
F1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi, UAE
December 5-8, 2024
Culture? Well, car culture. If the art of speed is more your cup of petrol, the culmination of an already dramatic F1 racing season arrives in the luxurious Emirate while Art Basel luxuriates in Miami. And with team standings shifting at nearly every race on the 2024 program, it is anybody’s guess which team will emerge victorious for the year. At press time, the Oracle Red Bull Racing Team (with lead driver Max Verstappen leading the individual driver standings) was almost running neck-and-neck with the second-place McLaren Mercedes team (whose lead driver Lando Norris is similarly in second place in the driver standings), with Ferrari (and team leader Charles Leclerc) hot on both of their heels. It may come down to the 58 grueling laps on the challenging, creek-surrounded 5.281-kilometer Yas Marina Circuit to determine the final victors. Don’t miss it. formula1.com
Sundance Film Festival
Sundance Resort, Park City, Utah
January 23-February 2, 2025
Utah’s ski region goes Indie Film glitzy each winter with this fabled cinema happening. Launched by the state film commission back in 1978 and taken over by Robert Redford’s Sundance Film Institute in 1985, the rollicking celebration of the best of independent filmmaking may have grown in celebrity-spotting and artistic gravitas, but it is still a fun, disruptive, indie-spirited cinematic experience of its very own. While the festival team is still pulling together programming and spotlight films to screen for 2025, the fact that important productions like Blood Simple, Reservoir Dogs, Get Out, and many others got their first exposure at Sundance gives you a hint as to the festival’s role connecting art, cinema, and popular culture. With over 10 screening venues across Park City, Salt Lake City, and Redstone, you’re sure to see a few new-jack masterpieces (and more than few industry luminaries enjoying the show) well before they arrive at your local theater. sundance.org

01 TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Extreme Sport Tourbillons are a always a desirable high horological complication, which was first created to mitigate the effects of gravity on pocket watches to improve precision. From such fussy beginnings, a tourbillon complication on flat-out super sporty chronographs like TAG Heuer’s latest 44mm Carrera releases redefines the spinning elan of the device. Debuted earlier this fall during Geneva Watch Days, this masterpiece is powered by the advanced TH20-09 in-house caliber, an evolution of the legendary Heuer 02 movement, that utilizes a vertical clutch, column wheel, and a new shield-shaped rotor for an edgy aesthetic. This mechanism also offers a bidirectional automatic rewinding system and a 65-hour power reserve, showcasing the watchmaker’s commitment to superior craftsmanship and reliability. Available in an all-black execution and a resplendent rose gold version, the 18K 5N rose gold model is the one that makes the bigger bang on the wrist. tagheuer.com
THE TIMES THAT SHINE
So very often, the gift of a fine timepiece is also the gift of a memory. A wonderful cruise, a world-class event, a musical moment, a reminder of another of life’s passions... these exquisite timepieces will give the lucky people on your holiday list something to think about, beyond what time it is, whenever they check their wrist.
Bulgari
Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater Carbon
The so-called Minute Repeater, a chiming watch function, not only dates back to the days before indoor lighting, it is also one of the most challenging watch complications to execute properly. That is why the House of Bulgari made quite a splash during Geneva Watch Days by including the sonic feature on one of its most edgy, modern, super-thin models, the Octo Finissimo. Powered by the calibre BVL 362 movement, the Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater Carbon has the instantly recognizable DNA of the Octo line at the core. To add to the modernity, this model’s case is rendered in lightweight carbon (a rarity for the collection), and features the collection’s signature highly geometric octagonal case design and slightly oversized 40mm proportions. However, it also maintains an ultra-thin profile, measuring just 6.85mm thick - not a lot of room to house the elaborate hammers and gongs to generate the gorgeous sound of the Minute Repeater, one that also happens to chime the hours, quarters, and minutes on demand. bulgari.com
Ulysse Nardin
Diver Atoll
With its tasteful use of diamonds, clean white color way, and mesmerizing blue dial, the Ulysse Nardin Diver Atoll released over the summer is not only a legitimate dive watch, it is also clearly a terrific choice to wear on deck (for men and women, to boot). Let’s start with that delightful dial: crafted from stone-cut chrysocolla, each dial execution carries its own unique swirls of deep blues, blacks, light aquas, and earthy island browns; almost like an aerial photograph of tropical waters. Alongside the gleaming polished and satin-brushed steel case (produced from 80 percent recycled steel), which tends to tone down the bling of the 40 diamonds set between the 15-minute intervals on the bezel, the overall result is a decidedly more genderneutral package than you might expect from a jeweled dive watch. An additional 11 diamonds adorn the dial indices for a total of 0.92 carats. With all of its stylish surface appeal, the Ulysse Nardin Diver Atoll also checks the boxes for diving functionality, as it is powered by the UN-816 selfwinding movement with edgy silicon components and is water-resistant to 300 meters. The Diver Atoll is limited to 100 pieces.

Speedmaster Chronoscope Paris 2024 While the 2024 Paris Olympic Games may be chronologically in our collective rear-view mirrors, the memories persist. Who can forget the extraordinary golden accomplishments of U.S. gymnast Simone Biles; shot putter Ryan Crouser logging the first-ever third straight gold medal in his event; the U.S. women’s foil fencing team’s first gold; American runners setting a new record for the 4 x 4,000 relay; and, of course, the awesomeness that is swimmer Katie Ledecky. To capture that spirit, we can’t think of a better way than via Olympic Official Timekeeper Omega’s Speedmaster Chronoscope Paris 2024 timepiece. Released as a form of the 100-day countdown to the Paris games, the 43mm timepiece is available in steel, but it’s the Olympics, so let’s talk gold. Crafted in Omega’s proprietary 18K Moonshine gold alloy (which offers a distinctive paler hue than traditional yellow gold and is more resistant to color fading), the gold version of this special Speedmaster offers a shimmering white opaline dial sporting black chronograph registers at 3 and 9 o’clock in the Omega “two counters” tradition. Moreover, you’ll find technically elaborate sets of three dark grey timing scales – tachymetric, pulsometric, and telemetric – running in concentric circles on the dial, making them a fitting ode to the importance of precision timing in athletic competition. Powered by the immaculate METAS-tested and certified Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9909 movement, and featuring an appropriately etched commemorative case back, this is a “gold medal” we all desire. omegawatches.com
Porsche 911 to Munich
While Porsche’s European Delivery options at U.S. dealers include no price discounts (in fact you will pay an extra fee), airport transfers, a night at a hotel, and 16 days of insurance are included. You can pick up your ordered, say, 911 in StuttgartZuffenhausen (where 718s are also made, while Porsche’s Leipzig factory is home to the Panamera, Cayenne, and Macan programs). The Zuffenhausen Experience includes a tour of the factory, lunch at the VIP Casino and passes to the Porsche Museum, but your drop-off for shipment to the U.S. can be made at the factory in Leipzig, or any of 16 other locations for an additional fee. As always, these plans start with the local dealership you are buying your 911 from. And, as always, getting the exact dates you want might be challenging since the program is quite popular. After that, the offer is pretty open-ended in terms of how long you drive the car in Europe. For a shorter maiden voyage, while Stuttgart is an interesting city in and of itself, Munich is only a little less than three hours away by Autobahn. Try to avoid going to Munich during Oktoberfest, and try to pick up some authentic Bavarian fashions at the popular Almliebe (Hochbrückenstrasse 10, 80331), which has managed to elevate folksy German wear into a fashionable realm. Starting price for a new Porsche 911 Carrera is $120,000, with an additional $1,500 for the European delivery program fee. porsche.com

THE MAIDEN VOYAGE
Before imports became common, many European automakers offered “European” delivery service to North American buyers so they could test drive their car in Europe before it was shipped stateside (and they could save enough money to pay for the trip). While many makers have since cancelled those programs (and the discount days are over for those that remain), when you are talking about arranging for a first drive in your vehicle’s homeland at the very high end, top carmakers can still be quite accommodating.

Aston Martin Vanquish to Scotland
Official details on an Aston Martin European delivery program are very thin on the ground. But, when you’re talking about, say, a new 2025 V12 Vanquish and a whole new, advanced power plant, a U.K. maiden voyage might be a request your local dealership will want to champion for you. Aston Martin’s state-of-the-art factory is in Gaydon, just south of Birmingham, England, but your new Vanquish should eat up the 300-some miles to Scotland’s Western Highlands in short order. That’s because your first drive in an Aston Martin should really include a rip through the incredibly scenic Glen Coe Valley (if you saw the 2012 James Bond epic Skyfall, you’ll remember Daniel Craig navigating his vintage Aston Martin DB-5 to Bond’s fictional home in the valley). Sunny or dour, Glen Coe Valley and the village of Glencoe delivers. While Edinburgh might seem like the likely final destination, ever since Glasgow served as a European City of Culture in 1990, its tough reputation has grown to include a vibrant arts and dining scene, albeit with a welcome dose of Glaswegian authenticity. astonmartin.com
Rolls-Royce Ghost to the Cotswolds Given the always bespoke nature of designing and purchasing a Rolls-Royce, a simple European delivery option request will certainly not be unheard of at your local dealership. With a basic starting price of $352,000 for a Ghost, after the additional cost of making it your own, you can probably ask for a favor or two. Favor one: The factory is located just adjacent to the fabled Goodwood Motor Circuit southwest of London; see if you can score a test drive in your Ghost right on the track? Favor two: Rolls-Royce has its own relationship with 007, so see if you can take a quick two-hour jump up to the Stoke Park Country Club for a few holes. It’s the site of the infamous Bond vs. Goldfinger golf match in 1964’s Goldfinger. The Bond villain parked his 1937 Rolls-Royce Phantom III in the same lot you will use. After that, the bucolic glories of the Cotswolds and Welsh border are only another hour and change away. rolls-roycemotorcars.com
Flying privately is obviously better than dealing with airlines, congested airports, inconsistent service, and missed connections. However, as you may have experienced, it’s still possible for things to go astray when flying the private skies.
Private jets use the same air traffic control system as the airlines. Weather causes reroutes; slot restrictions and limited parking for jets at busy airports impact schedules; and refueling and the availability of customs and border officers can all lead to delays. The big fractional and charter operators work their aircraft so they can often fly multiple segments daily. In other words, you could be the victim of the domino effect. Several flight providers and one company, however, are trying to make that experience as smooth as possible.
NetJets is expanding its network of private terminals in the U.S., having opened private lounges in Scottsdale, Arizona, and Bozeman, Montana. It also announced an expansion of its facility at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey (the world’s busiest private jet airport), the opening of a dedicated lounge at Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS), and future projects in Eagle, Colorado (EGE), Atlanta, Georgia (PDK), Bedford, Massachusetts (BED), Austin, Texas (AUS), and Dallas Love Field (DAL). It has a network of NSRs, short for NetJets Service Representatives, at key airports in Europe. NSRs currently assist departing and arriving passengers at Luton and Farnborough (London), Nice, Le Bourget (Paris), Geneva, Zurich, Milan, and Palma de Mallorca.
Recently, private jet companies big and small have been trying to ensure that ground experience doesn’t interfere with a perfect flight and yacht vacation. A spokesperson says the NSRs work “across many departments and teams from logistics to flight dispatch especially during high flight demand around major sporting, art, or music events, thereby achieving a level of personalization that face-to-face interaction can only uniquely enable.”
Rival Flexjet has also been sharpening its land game. It is planning its own terminal in London to go along with its lounges at Teterboro, Westchester County, Palm Beach, Naples (Florida), Dallas, Los Angeles, and soon Scottsdale. At its Naples location, it even has space for fractional owners to store their cars during the off-season.
Amalfi Jets, a boutique broker based in Los Angeles, has a team of specialists who travel onsite for all departures for its jet card clients. In addition to ensuring catering is correct and loaded, and meeting clients when they arrive, the team reports
back about the upkeep of aircraft interiors, something only sometimes possible by reviewing photos of charter aircraft.
Kolin Jones, Amalfi’s Founder & CEO, says the impetus for the white glove sendoffs came soon after he launched the brokerage. A client who booked a charter flight from Teterboro to London went to the wrong FBO – busy airports can have five or six and can be located miles apart on opposite ends of the field. The FBO was busy and didn’t have the manpower to bring him to the right FBO. As the minutes ticked away and Jones worried they would lose their arrival slot on the other side of the Atlantic, he decided that having an onsite company rep for departures would be critical for success. He hires student pilots from his alma mater, aviation university Embry-Riddle. He says that in addition to ensuring an uneventful departure, customers enjoy chatting with the greeters who are knowledgeable about the different types of charter aircraft, including their capabilities, from range and runway length to how much baggage they can fit.
Suits on the Ground is the brainchild of David Rimmer, former president of two charter operators. After seeing how things can slip through the cracks, and that FBO staff and crew are busy, sometimes arriving only an hour or so on an inbound leg, Rimmer saw the opportunity for a pay-per-use service. He taps experienced private aviation professionals and charges $1,000 per departure or arrival, plus travel expenses.
Representatives arrive at the airport three or four hours before departure and track everything from the incoming aircraft to catering, ensuring the order is complete. In some cases, they have had to recreate the catering when a provider fails to deliver. In another case, the rep drove back to the flyer’s home, where he had left his passport. “There are a lot of issues that come up where the flight crews or FBO staff simply aren’t able to help,” Rimmer says. In another case, his team was able to arrange a visa on arrival, preventing the flyer from being sent back because he didn’t have the required documents.
Rimmer says the service is popular at busy airports, particularly during significant events. “We’ve been to the last three Super Bowls,” he says, adding, “When everybody is a VIP, nobody is a VIP, so it helps to have somebody to represent your interests there on the ground at the FBO.”

Business Travel With Purpose
The ACJ TwoTwenty
As business leaders increasingly seek to align their business strategies with broader societal values, the ACJ TwoTwenty stands out for its exceptional performance, comfort, and ability to support worthy causes.
A recent survey1 commissioned by Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJ) highlights a growing trend in how U.S. hedge funds and private equity firms utilize business aviation. An overwhelming 96 percent of these firms have already used their corporate jets for philanthropic missions, with 85 percent planning to increase such efforts over the next three years. Notably, 34 percent have mobilized their aircraft during crisis situations, including humanitarian relief operations and emergency evacuations. This reflects a broader shift in corporate culture where leading firms leverage their resources to both drive business growth and contribute to corporate social responsibility.
The ACJ TwoTwenty is perfectly positioned to facilitate this dual-purpose approach. With its expansive cabin, generous cargo capacity and long-range capabilities, the aircraft can serve multiple roles - from transporting executives across the globe for critical meetings to providing rapid response in times of crisis. Whether enabling quick access to remote areas during humanitarian missions or offering transportation for medical teams and supplies, the ACJ TwoTwenty can be a powerful asset in a company's corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Moreover, the ACJ TwoTwenty's flexibility and range allow it to support various philanthropic endeavors without compromising on business needs. For example, companies involved with the Corporate Angel Network can utilize this aircraft to provide cancer patients with access to specialized treatment centers, a cause that many executives are increasingly prioritizing.
Additionally, during natural disasters or emergencies, the ACJ TwoTwenty can be swiftly mobilized to deliver critical supplies where they are needed most. With over three times the cargo capacity of other large-cabin business jets, it ensures that essential aid reaches affected areas, offering vital support in urgent situations.
For those committed to leading by example, the ACJ TwoTwenty offers more than just world-class travel; it’s a platform for making a difference. It allows leaders to demonstrate a tangible commitment to social responsibility.
The ACJ TwoTwenty allows executives to extend their influence beyond the boardroom, using their resources to drive positive change while ensuring their business thrives. It’s not just about reaching destinations—it’s about reaching out and making a meaningful contribution to the world.

CHARTER 101
HOW TO CHARTER
When setting off on a superyacht charter, focusing on key details – like choosing the perfect yacht and understanding onboard etiquette – can greatly elevate your experience. Navigator covers everything you need to know about superyacht charters.
WORDS MIRIAM CAIN
The world is your oyster
Chartering a superyacht is undoubtedly one of the world’s most exclusive and luxurious experiences. Ultimate comfort and abundant space to relax and entertain, sophisticated entertainment and communication systems, copious watersports, and six-star service are just some of the reasons why clients return to charter year after year to enjoy this unique environment. If the idea of chartering a superyacht is tempting, but it’s something you haven’t done before, it can be a daunting proposition. How do you know which yacht to choose; where should you go? What’s included in the charter rate and what is extra? Northrop & Johnson’s charter experts are on hand to help guide you in the right direction. First, here are some tips on how to get started, and some answers regarding the facilities, accommodations, and types of charter.
Which yacht...
Most superyachts have certain things in common, but they are each unique and offer a range of features. Selecting a yacht to suit the size and character of your charter party can therefore appear to be something of a minefield. Which one will you choose? Motor yachts are bursting to the brim with the latest technology and are the ultimate decadent ride when out at sea, while sailing yachts offer timeless beauty fused with exhilarating performance. A traditional motor yacht is ideal for a family group, for example, while a sailing yacht is perhaps better suited to a yachting enthusiast looking to bring back the grandeur of traveling on the high seas. Added to this, most charter yachts only operate within specific cruising grounds chosen by the owner, so although there are no hard and fast rules as to which to choose first –yacht or cruising area – the time of year you wish to charter and the location you want to travel to will largely determine the yachts available.
If this is your first yacht charter, you may want to aim for a tried-and-tested cruising ground with every facility on hand and a wide selection of available yachts to choose from. Somewhere in the Mediterranean, for example, or the Caribbean. Family charters or chartering with large groups of friends is also about having fun, so look at the water toys and entertainment facilities available. The makeup and nationality of the Captain and crew is also key.
Where to charter...
The best cruising grounds for family charters tend to be those with great beaches, warm climates, and safe waters. The Bahamas, for example, are ideal for family yacht charters as their shallow waters provide ample opportunities for snorkeling and diving, while all the islands are close in proximity, allowing for short crossings between each anchorage and minimal cruising time. The same goes for the British Virgin Islands.
If you are planning a summer charter, consider the cruising grounds of the Western Mediterranean. With countless islands and mainland harbors to choose from, plenty of distractions ashore, and cuisine to suit all tastes, this area is popular for all types of charter, including families and groups of friends. For those with older children, the Pacific Northwest guarantees great memories, with awe-inspiring terrain to encounter and fantastic wildlife, as does Scandinavia, Australia, and New Zealand, to name just a few. If you are considering a more adventurous charter, choose based on your preferred time of year, as many cruising grounds are inhospitable off-season.
If you are chartering a yacht with friends, it might be the cuisine and dining that appeals most, and many cruising grounds are famed for their fine gourmet fare. The Western Mediterranean –
in particular the Côte d’Azur or Amalfi Coast – would be an ideal choice for a gourmet-style charter, with some of the world’s best restaurants located along their coastlines. Of course, the chef on board your yacht will also play a major role in creating a memorable charter experience by introducing you to the fresh local ingredients used to make regional specialties and creating your own personalized menu on request.
Those fascinated by history might enjoy a charter in some of the Mediterranean’s cultural hotspots, including the southern coast of Turkey, the Greek islands, or the east coast of Croatia, all of which are steeped in history and provide interesting day trips ashore. Or, perhaps you are simply keen to try new water sports, or looking to experiment with a new activity in some of the most stunning settings in the world. Mountain biking through the pine forests of New Zealand, or quad biking through the sands of Mexico? Or, perhaps staying on the water and kayaking through the Norwegian fjords, or deep-sea game fishing for marlin in the South Pacific?
Simply gather as many ideas as you can regarding the type of charter, and when and where you think you’d like to go, and leave the rest to the experts.

Downtime
The coastlines of the more popular Caribbean islands are beautiful but they can also be crowded in high season. Knowing where to escape the crowds during the holiday season can be the key to enjoying your vacation. From tiny cays in The Bahamas to coastal hideaways in the Leewards, a superyacht allows access to coves and beaches that are only accessible by boat and that can also provide peaceful overnight anchorages. Promising more scenic anchorages than any yachtsman could wish for, the Virgin Islands offer plenty of quiet spots for those who know where to venture.
Northrop & Johnson is 75 years old this year, and to celebrate more than seven decades of incredible yachting moments, Northrop & Johnson charter experts present 10 reasons to charter a superyacht this holiday season.
WORDS MIRIAM CAIN
02
Dinner Time
Tailor-made gourmet cuisine is an intrinsic part of any charter vacation – on board any of the charter fleet you will be met with an enlightened chef and a neverending stream of innovative menu choices. Most cruising grounds are famed for their fresh market produce, with sumptuous displays of fresh fish, fruit, and regional delicacies available for chefs to incorporate into their cuisine. The best gourmet superyacht experience usually combines a little of dining both aboard and ashore, and the majority of cruising grounds offer a wide choice of gastronomic – even Michelin-starred – restaurants, which are an integral part of any superyacht charter.
03
Family Time
A superyacht provides the perfect setting for a family holiday; it’s small enough to bring everyone together, but still big enough to give everyone their personal space. Spacious superyacht decks can also be multi-purpose; while you are on the bridge deck enjoying lunch, your children can be sheltering from the strong afternoon sun watching a movie (many of the larger superyachts even have dedicated cinema rooms). While you relax on the beach club, they can be splashing about in the Jacuzzi on the sundeck (supervised). Evenings on board can be equally flexible, with adults socializing in the main salon and the skylounge becoming the “kids’ zone” (or vice-versa). By its very nature a superyacht is also mobile, so there is something new for the children to see every day, along with plenty of water toys on board to entertain them. Boredom is very rarely a factor on a superyacht charter.
One perfect yacht for a family charter is the 121’8” (37.08m) OPTIMISM (pictured above). Her communal areas on the main and upper decks are vast, while her friendly crew are renowned for going above and beyond – organizing treasure hunts, sports days ashore, and activities galore –to keep the children entertained and ensure that everyone has a fun-filled vacation.
04
Active Time
There was once a time when a superyacht was a place of indolence, where exercise meant a languid swim around the boat at anchor, but today’s health-conscious yacht owners and charterers prefer to maintain their fitness regime on vacation rather than letting it all go. Gyms are therefore no longer just the preserve of sports stars and fitness fanatics and have become an essential amenity on board larger superyachts. The 203’5” (62m) SEA OWL (pictured above), for example, has a spacious gym, with an adjoining massage room, where guests can stay active and relaxed. Some yachts even have personal trainers within the crew, such as the 180’6” (55m) REVELRY. Equally, for those looking to ditch the gym and take to the water, there are plenty of alternative ways to exercise on board a superyacht with watersports equipment that can be used for fitness as well.
05
Party Time
Should you ever feel like a change of scenery for the day, the Caribbean islands play host to some of the hottest beach clubs in the world. Drop anchor and step ashore to discover the superyacht crowd’s favorite hangouts. On the island of St. Barts, the Eden Rock and nearby Nikki Beach remain the hip institutions that they have always been, welcoming a steady flow of yacht tenders throughout the holiday season, while Basil’s Bar (pictured above) on Mustique is always a welcome sight while cruising the Grenadines. The party vibe also remains strong on the island of Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands, with the Soggy Dollar Bar attracting the superyacht set aiming to combine some high-energy partying with some chillout time.
06
Play Time
No matter how you like to spend your time on board your yacht, the Northrop & Johnson charter fleet has a fun activity for everyone to enjoy. From mini-golf driving ranges to inflatable slides and just about every conceivable water toy imaginable, active life simply doesn’t get any better this holiday season while cruising on a superyacht.
When it comes to watertoys, a yacht that rates up there with the best in class is the perennial charter favorite RoMa. Renowned for having a fantastic crew, this 203’5” (62m) yacht goes all out for fun in the sun. From stand-up paddleboards to kayaks, snorkeling and scuba diving equipment, and inflatable toys galore, RoMa will please both the young and the young at heart. She is also certified as an approved RYA training center, so guests looking to improve their watersports skills or maybe even learn an entirely new watersport can rest assured that they have the best instructors at hand.
For those looking to channel their inner child, inflatables are always popular. Most of the charter fleet carry some sort of inflatable on board, and some even have extensive inflatable water parks. The 153’3” (46.7m) BALISTA (pictured above), for example, offers an extensive inflatable park where adults are just as welcome as children.
07 Movie Time
How about watching the latest Disney animation with the children on the big screen? Dedicated cinema rooms have become one of the most popular features on board charter yachts. The 203’5” (62m) RoMa, for example, has a dedicated cinema room that incorporates a twinkling fiber optic starscape on the wall that mimics the night sky above.
Alfresco movie nights under the stars are also popular on warm summer evenings. To meet demand, several yachts now feature cinema setups on their exterior decks for screenings. The 164’1" (50m) VICTORIA DEL MAR’s (pictured above) sundeck offers a large Jacuzzi, sunpads, and alfresco dining. There is also a bar, making this space a favorite for guests by day and by night, especially when the space is converted to an outdoor theater with a 100” screen.
08
Chilled Time
To enhance your superyacht experience, many yachts have their own dedicated spa areas. Some are in the form of cabins that can be transformed into a treatment area, while others have entire purpose-built spa decks with everything you would expect to find in a top spa ashore. If you are looking for the ultimate onboard pampering experience, opt for a superyacht with a masseuse on board, such as the 203’5” (62m) SEALION (pictured above). A few yachts have crew members that are also trained as beauty therapists, and if not, your Northrop & Johnson charter expert can arrange for local specialists to come onboard.
09
Cultural Time
Getting a dose of culture doesn’t have to involve remote, off-the-beaten-path destinations thousands of miles from home. While cruising in the Caribbean, for example, why not spend some time on the exotic island of Grenada? Ideal for a fun-packed family adventure, explore the spice plantations and learn where all those magical spices that end up in the kitchen come from, or even take a chocolate tour at the historic Belmont Estate. The kids will never look at their favorite sweet treat in quite the same way after dancing, barefoot, on trays of cocoa beans. Alternatively, the Leeward island of Antigua is steeped in maritime history. Once home to the Royal Navy’s West Indies fleet and for a time under Admiral Nelson’s direct command, English Harbour (pictured above) and in particular Nelson’s Dockyard, remains a visible symbol of England’s powerful navy past, with many Colonial naval buildings remaining completely intact. Overlooking this is Shirley Heights. Formerly a military lookout point for Nelson, you can still see cannons and the remnants of the barracks and fortifications.
10
Alfresco Time
The superyacht lifestyle is all about alfresco living and the perennially favored charter yachts are those that blend interior and outdoor areas and provide spacious living environments in both. From fold-down balconies to beach clubs and multi-use spaces, any superyacht that allows guests to enjoy a complete on-the-water experience is always going to be a favorite. A beach club, for example, not only allows for plenty of exterior space to sunbathe at sea level in privacy, it also provides easy access to the water and watertoys. The beach club found on board the 254’11” (77.7m) MALIA (pictured above) is a haven of relaxation. Opening to 180-degree views with drop-down terraces and an open stern, the large area includes a health bar and seating areas. Alternatively, some yachts have private terraces in the master cabin, which can be used as a private retreat while also making the cabin feel much bigger when deployed.

NIKKI BEACH, SAINT BARTH
The French Riviera’s Caribbean counterpart holds a certain je ne sais quoi that’s amplified by the beach club staple, Nikki Beach
Reminiscent of the Côte d’Azur, the French-speaking island of St. Barts boasts a rugged coastline, miles of beaches, and some of the finest cuisine in the entire Caribbean. It is also home to a number of offshoot eateries and clubs from the French Riviera, including Saint-Jean’s famous resident, the pioneering Nikki Beach Saint Barth. Much like her sister beach club in St. Tropez, Nikki Beach Saint Barth attracts the superyacht set ashore to enjoy the intoxicating joie de vivre vibe.
The oceanfront setting with plush, all-white sunbeds and warm Caribbean breezes is the perfect place to enjoy a long, rosé-filled lunch. DJs and live saxophone players set the mood with lively tunes until late afternoon, perfectly amplifying the chic island vibes. Gourmands will be delighted by the delectable offerings on the menu. Combining seasonal ingredients with global flavors from Nikki Beach locations around the world, Executive Chef Antoine Durand’s menu includes classic Caribbean dishes, such as rotisserie chicken, along with seasonal favorites, such as lobster linguini and Exotic Rum Baba. Retire to the bar for an aperitif from the carefully curated cocktail menu, and when ready, head back on board for a peaceful night at anchor. saint-barth.nikkibeach.com

Celebrate in Style
Swap the cold weather for some sunshine and celebrate on board a superyacht this holiday season. Not only does a yacht provide security, privacy and the opportunity for endless activities and tailor-made cuisine, it is also bespoke to you. Whether your annual holiday tradition is to wake up and celebrate with a Champagne brunch anchored in a quiet bay, or you prefer to toast the new year in style with a lavish celebration, the choice is yours. But where to celebrate? The exclusive islands of The Bahamas are a firm favorite for the superyacht set. A safe haven for celebrities looking to escape the crowds and celebrate, the islands also set the tone for all-out extravaganzas, with festivals and colorful parades on the main islands. Charter broker Carl Sputh recommends celebrating the festive season in The Bahamas on board the stunning motor yacht SILVER LINING. “Boasting acres of deck space, she is designed for outdoor living and her alfresco dining and entertaining areas are ideal for a starlit New Year’s Eve dinner party,” says Carl.
Alternatively, those looking to ring in the new year with a lavish celebration should consider the chic island of St. Barts. Without doubt the New Year’s Eve capital of the Caribbean, the island marks the new year with impromptu New Year’s Eve boat hopping parties. Most of the yachts in the fleet have a choice of alfresco dining and entertaining areas. “The bar aboard ALFA NERO is the perfect spot to start the party with a glass of Champagne before dining under the stars,” says charter broker Mimi Andain. “As the clock ticks toward midnight, enjoy the colorful fireworks displays exploding over Gustavia Harbor before dancing the night away on the huge aft deck dance floor.”
At One With Nature
A superyacht charter almost immediately conjures up images of endless white sand beaches and days upon days of sunshine, but many of the cruising grounds visited by yachts are also fantastic destinations for discovering a vast array of wildlife. From humbling encounters with humpback whales in their migrating pods, to the sheer unbridled biological diversity of rainforests, there’s no end to the wildlife experiences both ashore and beneath the waterline. Turn your attention to the cruising grounds of Southeast Asia and explore the shimmering blue waters. Home to thousands of deserted islands, amazing underwater life, and well-protected anchorages, a yacht charter through Thailand’s Andaman Sea or the adventure playground of Indonesia’s Raja Ampat, can be both eye-opening and meaningful, while still being restorative and luxurious.
Alternatively, follow in Darwin’s footsteps while cruising through the enchanted Galápagos. One of, if not THE most enthralling wildlife havens in the world, this archipelago of islands straddles the equator approximately 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador. This wildlife utopia inspired Darwin and may just inspire you and your guests to think differently about the world, too. Offering accommodations for up to 16 guests with crew numbers to match, the 164’1" (50m) AQUA MARE is the perfect explorer charter yacht for cruising the Galapagos. “She has two crewmembers who are professionally trained naturalists,” says charter broker Adam Fitzmaurice. “You could even host a National Geographic film maker to help create your very own documentary and capture memories of a lifetime,” he says. “These types of activities give a vital perspective of the fragile environment and the tangible effects of climate change.”
Fun for Everyone
Most superyachts have an array of water toys, adding not only a fun dimension to a family yacht charter but also allowing for the opportunity to learn a new sport. With all the equipment you’ll need right on site, the whole family can hit the waves while cruising aboard the 102’7” (31.09m) CARPE DIEM. “The crew really know their stuff, and armed with the yacht’s 43’ (13m) Midnight Express towable tender, they will ensure every guest has the thrill of taking to the water in safety,” says charter broker Fiona Maureso. The Caribbean is perfect for watersports, with balmy temperatures in the water hovering around 82°F. Over in The Bahamas, the shallow waters are perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and all manner of watersports, while outside the reefs the waters provide some of the most popular deep-sea fishing in the world.
The crew aboard REVELRY know the best fishing spots and can teach guests how to cast a line. “While cruising aboard REVELRY, take advantage of the 54’ (16m) Viking Open Sport Fish and the extensive fishing program on board, with fly, deep sea, and spearfishing equipment,” says charter broker Kevin Damgaard.
Delve Deep
The underwater realm is a fascinating place bursting with all types of sea creatures – all you have to do is peek beneath the surface to gain a better understanding of the life that lurks below. Coral reefs dance with iridescent fish that will leave everyone bursting with enthusiasm at what they’ve seen, while marine creatures both big and small can elevate your immersion to a new level. The beauty of these ecosystems is that they are all unique. In the waters lapping the Caribbean islands, for example, you will be rubbing your eyes in disbelief at the colorful tropical fish, while the Indian Ocean atolls of the Maldives and Seychelles can also provide rainbow-colored coral in abundance and a magical but very different array of sea life. Hiring a local marine guide to come on board elevates your immersion, or simply following the yacht crew’s guidance will also lead to new discoveries.
A number of charter yachts are outfitted with dive gear in their toy boxes, and some even operate PADIcertified dive centers with their own dive instructors on board to safely teach scuba diving to guests of all ages. “RoMa has all the equipment and credentials for underwater adventures, including scuba equipment, a Bauer dive compressor, and an emergency oxygen generator. “Licensed as a PADI on-board diving school, RoMa’s guests are in safe hands with fully qualified scuba instructors and dive masters among her crewmembers,” says charter broker Natascha Weber.
Northrop & Johnson’s charter experts are on hand to deliver the perfect experiences for all ages, interests and personalities. With global knowledge and a handpicked collection of captivating charter yachts, you’re sure to create memories that will last a lifetime.

WORDS MIRIAM CAIN
Escape
French Polynesia
It doesn’t get much more remote than cruising in French Polynesia. A scattered archipelago of volcanic islands and atolls strewn in the South Pacific, these islands represent the epitome of the tropical island idyll. Divided into the Society Islands, the Tuamotus, the Marquesas, the Australs, and the Gambier Archipelago, they are otherworldly cruising grounds of biological riches. Share these pellucid waters as you snorkel and dive beneath the surface with rippling rainbows of fish including parrotfish, emperor angelfish, striped snapper, and even the occasional black tip reef shark to add some spice to your dive.
Smart Set
French Riviera
Prepare your summer wardrobe for the jet-set glamor of the Côte d’Azur. Luxury, style, and elegance are what epitomize the glittering coastline. From Monaco to St. Tropez, these cruising grounds are without a doubt a mustvisit summer playground for anyone who considers themselves a bonafide charterer.
On par with some of the fashion capitals of the world, the sky is literally the limit when it comes to shopping. From designer boutiques in St. Tropez, Cannes, and Monaco, to the hidden local gems in the quaint towns and villages, the gilded icons of high fashion are calling.
Adventure
Pacific Northwest
There are many compelling reasons to travel further in the year ahead and for those with their sights on far-reaching adventures, a yacht provides the perfect platform to dust off that bucket list. If you are seeking a new experience, look west to the Pacific Northwest for a fresh combination of luxury and adventure. No other cruising ground offers such variety for the waterborne. Cruise the wild coastline of the Pacific Northwest – from Vancouver all the way up to Southeast Alaska – and immerse yourself into both nature and culture. An action packed, bespoke itinerary takes in up-close encounters with wildlife alongside Inuit guides, while activities such as kayaking through the glacial ecosystem and trekking through a temperate rainforest provide great adventures for all ages.
Gastronomy
Amalfi Coast
Lovers of gourmet food will love cruising in Italy. It is perhaps not surprising that the Amalfi Coast has a plethora of fantastic restaurants, the best of which center their menu around local seafood. From Capri and Ischia to the vertiginous stretch of mainland that runs from Sorrento to Amalfi, this sun-drenched coastline is known for its generous helping of Michelin-starred restaurants, as well as more traditional, family-run establishments. There are too many to mention, but the must-visits include the original Italian Michelin-starred restaurant La Caravella in the town of Amalfi, Quattro Passi on the Sorrento Peninsula, La Sponda in Positano (pictured), and Lo Scoglio da Tommaso in Sorrento.
Fun & Sun
Grenada
While the Caribbean Windward Islands are often overlooked in favor of the Leeward Islands, the likes of St. Barts and Antigua, the islands of St. Lucia and Grenada, and the stunning Grenadines chain, have more than proven themselves as worthy contenders for the superyacht set. The southernmost of the Windward Islands, Grenada is the place to head for a taste of Carnival spirit with year-round parades, food, dancing, and performances. The horseshoe-shaped harbor of St. George’s is at the center of the action. Head ashore and join the locals as they dance the night away to the sounds of a steel drum band.
Culture
Cyclades
Is there anywhere more popular than the Cyclades right now? The Greek archipelago that includes Mykonos, Santorini, Milos, and Paros – to name just a few – were the most popular cruising grounds for charters this past summer and the trend looks set to continue. This could be due to their beach clubs, nightclubs, and boutique properties with fantastic spas and restaurants, but their infinite appeal also lies in their historical splendor. A charter through the Cyclades is a dot-to-dot tour of archaeological ruins left by ancient civilizations over the course of five millennia, and the best thing is that you can dip your toes in to the highlights on each island. From the sacred grounds of Delos, supposed birthplace of Apollo and Artemis, to catacombs and ancient ruins on Milos, each island is unique and surprisingly different.
Nature
Costa Rica
A sublime territory regularly cited as one of the most biodiverse countries in the world, Costa Rica was one of the first countries to promote responsible eco-tourism. As a cruising ground, Costa Rica offers two beautiful coastlines – either the tranquil Caribbean or the vast Pacific Ocean – both with protected marine reserves that guarantee extraordinary underwater sealife. If you can tear yourself away from the water, there is also plenty to see on land. Virgin rainforests, untouched beaches, immense volcanoes, and mountain peaks provide a sensory experience like few others.
For charters along the Pacific coast, embark from the IGY Marina Bahia Golfito and discover the surrounding Corcovado and Piedras Blancas National Parks. Alternatively, step onboard in IGY’s Red Frog Beach Island Marina on Bastimentos Island, Panama, and embark on an adventure through Panama’s Bocas del Toro Archipelago and north along the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica.
Bayfront Sanctuary
Step into a glorious bayfront property on the storied sands of Southampton’s Meadow Lane
Just 90 minutes from New York City, Southampton is known for its beautiful beaches, high-end boutiques, and dynamic nightlife. Catering to a luxurious and diverse lifestyle, Meadow Lane plays host to some of the finest waterfront properties in all of The Hamptons, including 809 Meadow Lane. An unparalleled haven of luxury, the classic shingle-style home offers one of the largest bayside settings, with over 300’ of bulkhead sheltered shorefront and a private dock.
The property’s expansive 5,400-square-foot floor plan is ideal for alfresco living and entertaining. Walls of glass doors seamlessly blend indoor and outdoor areas as they open to spill out to the surrounding terraces, waterside pool, and lush landscape. Natural light floods the modern and inviting interior, while jaw-dropping sunsets appear from every vantage point. The expansive living room, kitchen, and dining room all offer grand exposures to the picturesque views that are symbolic of The Hamptons’ lifestyle.
Those looking for a little privacy can retreat to the first floor primary suite or one of four additional bedrooms located on the second floor. All of these accommodations offer large terraces, positioned to highlight the stunning ocean and bay views. The estate also includes a tennis court and detached, two-car garage. The adjacent lot is also available to purchase.
809 Meadow Lane is perfectly suited for both full-time living, weekend getaways, or long summer vacations from the city – a bayside sanctuary for a water-lover who enjoys welcoming good company and an active cultural roster that includes open-air concerts, local fireworks displays, and a rich list of well-planned social events throughout the year.
809 Meadow Lane, Southampton, NY is offered at $34,000,000.

Opening up New Horizons
LEGEND YACHT TRANSPORT
Whether you are looking to explore new cruising grounds, race in a regatta on the other side of the Atlantic, or looking to purchase a yacht further afield, moving your yacht to new shores could not be more simple
For owners looking to transport their most prized possession, booking their yacht on a transport ship opens up new horizons they may not have otherwise considered. Allowing the owner to visit places that would be difficult to reach on the vessel’s own keel, or to use their yacht in the Mediterranean throughout the summer and spend the winter season in the Caribbean are just some of the benefits of transporting a yacht by ship. It can also be a quick and cost-effective method, while at the same time any wear and tear issues are eliminated.
Of course, given the complexities and logistics involved in transporting such a valuable commodity, choosing the right carrier for the right destination is of vital importance. Reputation and reliability are big factors to consider when choosing a transport service. Legend Yacht Transport is one of the largest yacht transport companies in the world and has built a reputation for reliable, year-round sailings, competitive pricing, and customized logistics. Specializing in heavy lift and complex lifts, with their own lifting equipment and loading teams, their operations team and logistics are second to none. From superyachts to tenders, they have a transport solution backed by over 25 years of experience.
With Legend Yacht Transport concierge yacht and boat transport logistics, owners and captains can be confident that their yacht will be handled with care, anywhere in the world, with zero mileage and in ready-to-sail condition. The only downside? Having to choose the destination for your next yachting adventure. legendyachttransport.com

Cannes Yachting Festival
The Cannes show opened its doors to a host of industry professionals and keen yachting enthusiasts, as well as existing and new buyers. Reports suggest healthy sales figures, despite a lack of inventory and long lead times for new builds. There were nearly 600 yachts on display, many of which made their world debut both within the show and at anchor in the beautiful surroundings of the Old Port and Port Pierre Canto, making this the largest in-water yacht show in Europe. Northrop & Johnson made its mark with a selection of outstanding yachts on display, including the classic 126’ (38.5m) Feadship, BLUEMAR II, and the 121’1” (36.93m) BLUE ANGEL.
During the show, Northrop & Johnson and Doggersbank unveiled two highly anticipated models: the Doggersbank 90 Offshore and the flagship Doggersbank 105 Offshore. Northrop & Johnson have been appointed the exclusive Europe-wide agent for the sale of this innovative new range, designed by Vripack and built on Doggersbank’s renowned explorer yacht pedigree.
Memories of Monaco
The Monaco Yacht Show is the most highly anticipated event of the Mediterranean season and this year, it did not disappoint. The 33rd Monaco Yacht Show was a flurry of excitement as the biggest yacht in the show’s history, the recently delivered 400’ (122m) KISMET, berthed alongside the 388’7” (111.9m) RENAISSANCE. It wasn’t only the large yachts that attracted all the attention. The 140’3” (42.75m) power catamaran SEAWOLF X, from Rossinavi, also made its debut. Featuring AI and a hybrid electric drive, she is a showcase in the future of yachting and will be available to charter.
Joining the excitement, Northrop & Johnson celebrated 75 Years of Extraordinary with a fine lineup of sales and charter yachts, and a number of prestigious social events throughout the week. Sales brokers and charter experts were kept busy with the showcase of fantastic yachts, retreating to the new stand to discuss clients’ yachting needs. Fitted with furniture and furnishings from Verge and Perennials, and joined by valued partners, including NetJets, Starboard Card, Four Seasons Yachts, Legend Yacht Transport, and Newcoast, the welcoming area was met with much appreciation for those looking to take a step back from the bustling quayside and enjoy a cold glass of Whispering Angel.
Despite a few periods of inclement weather, Northrop & Johnson clients were able to enjoy plenty of outdoor partying at signature events, including the annual Captains’ Beach Party at Neptune Monaco Beach. Hosted by Northrop & Johnson, together with partners MHG Insurance, MTN Sat, Liquid Yacht Wear, and Zelim, the evening brought together captains to enjoy an evening of great food and entertainment. The Friday saw Northrop & Johnson’s MYS Signature Starry Night Soirée hosted aboard the beautiful 201’ (61m) LADY KATHRYN V. Attendees were chauffeured from their varied locations to the yacht in the latest Inverted EV vehicles, while sponsors, including Quantum Marine Stabilizers and Whispering Angel, were on hand to join in the 75-year celebrations. A winning show for all.

Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show
The sun shone for the duration of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, bringing out crowds for what has now become the world’s largest boat show. Twelve yachts from the Northrop & Johnson fleet attracted a lot of attention and were inundated with viewings, including the 191’ (58.22m) UNBRIDLED and the 177’ (54m) STARFIRE. Clients and brokers took refuge from the sun on the welcoming Northrop & Johnson stand, where they could relax on furniture and furnishings from Verge and Perennials, and talk to representatives from valued Northrop & Johnson partners, including NetJets, Bahamas Tourism, Starboard Card, Four Seasons Yachts, Exclusive Resorts, Legend Yacht Transport, Northern Trust and Newcoast.
Northrop & Johnson hosted various events throughout the week, including the annual Captains’ Cocktail Reception, which was held at Bo’s Beach. Sponsored by Benetti, MHG Insurance, and Liquid Yachtwear, the event welcomed captains from the Northrop & Johnson fleet to enjoy some fun and entertainment. Clients and VIP guests were also treated to Northrop & Johnson’s signature client event at its estate on 821 Solar Isle Drive. Valued sponsors and partners, including Sage Intracoastal Residences Fort Lauderdale, were joined by Bahamas Tourism, who presented Bahamian fare with a Junkanoo performance and a Pink Sands Liquors Bar. Guests were treated to a Caviar and Champagne welcome provided by Antonius Caviar and Jacquart Champagne, while Chopin Liquors ensured everyone’s glasses were topped up throughout the evening.

Q&A
Richard Higgins
Senior Yacht Broker
British native and yachtie, Richard Higgins has more than fifteen years’ experience as a broker. Transitioning from crewing yachts and returning to land to expand his superyacht horizons, today Richard is a senior sales broker at Northrop & Johnson. Here we catch up with Richard to get a snapshot into the life of a successful superyacht broker.
Your first (full-time) job was working in the defense sector. How did you end up in the yachting industry?
I grew up around the water, learning to sail in the South of England, followed by a stint working as a crewmember on an 85’ sailing yacht in Australia. After graduating in the U.K. I worked in the defense industry but I was always drawn to the sea, and so I upped sticks and moved with my wife to the South of France, where I joined a brokerage house as a trainee broker.
Can you explain how you went from trainee broker to a senior sales broker with Northrop & Johnson?
I started at Camper & Nicholsons as a junior broker learning the trade with some of the industry’s pioneers who taught me everything I know. If I am honest, it took me about 10 years to really grasp the industry, learning the ropes so to speak and truly understanding how and what clients want in a yacht. The biggest lesson I ever learned was being mentally resilient. Often you fail more than you succeed in this industry and I was told numerous times that I didn’t have what it takes to be a successful broker. Luckily for me, I am pretty thick skinned and played a high level of sport throughout my life which taught me to never give up. I am quite glad I didn’t, however there were many moments throughout my career where I was close to throwing in the towel. Every broker has their own unique style in selling boats, and you just have to find the right stye that works for you. It takes a lot of hard work, luck, knowledge, and being in the right place at the right time. My biggest
successes (to date) came once I moved to Northrop & Johnson. Is this a coincidence? Maybe. However, I do believe change is good, and that by trying new things and working with people who offer different skills can help to open new doors.
2022 saw you play a part in one of the industry’s largest sales. How has this impacted your career?
Being involved in the sale of the 312’3” (95.15m) PALLADIUM had a massive impact on my career as a broker, but all of the yacht sales that I have been involved with are as important as each other. With each sale or purchase, or new build project, I learn more and take that knowledge on to the next.
What are some of your most memorable sales over the years and why?
I am not at liberty to mention a number of sales in which I have been involved, however, my involvement in the sale of PALLADIUM (pictured above), and more recently the deal I brokered on the 269’ (82m) ALFA NERO, have both been memorable, not just for their sheer size but for the complexities involved. For the latter, I acted on behalf of the buyer. Although complex, the transaction took just 10 days from getting on board with the buyer to completing the final negotiations and closing the contract. I have been told this is “phenomenal” for a boat of this size. It certainly taught me a lot and selfishly it was a great milestone for me as a broker but also for the company as I have now sold the two largest yachts Northrop & Johnson has ever done in its history so far. That is something I am very proud of.
