Heart Rock Live is an exciting musical enterprise taking place in Wrexham this summer. And, what’s even better, is that it’s all in the name of a good cause…
Go Live is a band of musicians and music therapists who have been profoundly moved by the pandemic’s devastation. As a result they are launching ‘Heart Rock Live’ – a social enterprise aimed at entertaining with music in order to help those who need it most get over lockdown.
Heart Rock will offer the best of both worlds in a venue accessible to every person, by showcasing the best talent available with cutting edge production in a familiar yet refined setting – but with barriers to entry
reduced by pricing.
The enterprise will be launching a school of rock for teenagers, inspiring them to learn instruments and songs and play them in bands on the Heart Rock stage. Heart Rock is also starting a community rock choir bringing people of all ages together to make music. Subsequently, it is introducing rehearsal rooms and recording studios, as well as video and photo suites, as part of its commitment to creating a talent pipeline helping young artists to realise their career potential.
Meanwhile, every Tuesday night, vocalists and singer songwriters will be invited to the stage for open mic nights, with the chance to win paid gigs. And, on Wednesday’s, there will be jam nights lead by professional musicians utilising the professional PA system, mixing desk and backline. Thursday is the night that up and coming bands will be showcased, including those newly signed to record labels or who are coming to North Wales with their national tours.
Every Friday, a rock tribute to heavy metal giants spanning five decades will play, with the UK’s most
authentic tributes scheduled to appear from ACDC to ZZ Top. Upcoming highlights include The Guns N’ Roses Experience, CODA – A Tribute To Led Zeppelin, Ultimate Leppard, and Classic Rock Heroes – a supergroup formed from stand out musicians starring at the Legends of Rock festivals. Each rock night will culminate with an all on stage monster jam session.
Saturday nights will feature mainstream popular music acts with upcoming highlights including Bulsara and His Queenies, headline act of The Official Freddie Mercury
Birthday Party in Montreux, Switzerland, for four consecutive years and The Stars of The Commitments, featuring original cast members from the cult movie. National theatre touring acts The Wild Murphy’s and One Night In Nashville will also make an appearance.
Every single performance at Heart Rock has a purpose, as they are all being played to support our NHS heroes and care home residents. Heart Rock, which is quickly becoming known as the little club with the big heart, will open its doors on Eagles Meadow Saturday 20th August.
