Caravan park passes to new ownership after 40 years

A couple are looking forward to retirement after selling their caravan park which has been part of their family for more than 40 years. Glyn and Marian Roberts ran Pentre Ucha Caravan Park, in Penybontfawr, near to the Snowdonia National Park, which was created by Glyn’s father in the late 1970s. The couple took on the ownership in 2003, before which it was operated by Glyn’s brother after their father passed away in 1983. Stewart Smith, a commercial property lawyer at Lanyon Bowdler, which has offices in Conwy and works with clients

across North and Mid Wales, said the caravan park had been a labour of love for the Roberts family. “Glyn’s father created the caravan park in the late 1970s and it has been owned and operated by the Roberts family ever since,” he explained. “Mr and Mrs Roberts decided to sell the site as they were keen to enjoy their well-earned retirement, and it has been taken on by Davies Homes & Leisure Ltd, owned by Steven Davies, who actually lives in Llanfyllin, the same town as Mr and Mrs Roberts. It is very much intended that the caravan park will remain as an independent, family-run business, and we would like to wish them every success in the future.” Pentre Ucha Caravan Park includes 67 static caravan pitches along with a three-bedroom holiday cottage next to the site.

Llandudno KIA to open on the 12th July

The fast-growing KIA brand is expanding with a new showroom in the heart of Llandudno. The showroom will be located at the former Peugeot premises on Argyll Road, opposite Parc Llandudno. “The Covid pandemic hit the overall motor trade extremely hard, with new car sales in 2020, 680,000 down on the previous years’ sales,” commented David Paveley, managing director of North Wales Honda, the family business he started nine and a half years ago. “I saw this as a great opportunity to push in the opposite direction and grow our business with a broader offering of products to adjust to the changing needs of our customers. There is a necessity to stay relevant with a wide range of Hybrid and Electric cars, while also catering for customers who don’t feel the need to embrace the new technologies just yet. Kia offers a different price point and a range of cars that will allow us to build a business sustainable for the town, our growing number of staff and meet car buyers needs in Conwy and the surrounding areas.”
