Where life will take us we never really know until we arrive. July started off with much promise and was quickly, for me, turned upside down when my ex-husband passed away in a motorcycle accident. The heart retching cry of our daughter as she informed me will be etched forever into my heart and mind. As a parent, all I wanted to do was wave a magic wand and fix it for her, make it all better. No magic wand can bring someone back. Each day is a roller coaster of emotions when something catastrophic happens in our lives. We look back on what has been, and yet have to continue to place one foot in front of the other in a forward motion. It can be so daunting even to consider moving forward or imagine how you can move forward. Society while compassionate expects you to keep going. And somehow each of us does. It is not easy, every. It does not matter what event brings a tsunami into your life picking up the pieces and finding normalcy takes time. If you are going through a life, “tsunami be gentle with yourself. Take each moment and day as it comes. Have faith that you can survive. While you may never be the same person you were before the tsunami, you will be stronger, wiser and eventually know peace within your day to day. The deer picture on the left was snapped during one of our visits to my daughter. Deer brings us this wisdom; you have the power to deal with challenges with grace. They remind us to heal our wounds with compassion, love, and gentleness. As a mom, it showed me how diligently she watched over her twin fawns who were hidden behind some grass, much like I was doing with my child. Giving them room to explore but every vigilantly protecting them as best she could. As we gently slip into August, I wish for all of you a quiet, gentle month ahead. May the summer days warm you with enough sun-kissed memories that should a tsunami hit your life, you will have them to reflect back upon and be a ray of love and joy in a gloomier moment.

“I'm late; I'm late, for a very important date!”
ing up on time and your self-regard will receive a boost because those who are expecting you will be appreciative. What you put out comes back to you.
I think we all can remember this phrase from "Alice in Wonderland." The White Rabbit is scurrying along, shirt tails flying behind him, holding a big pocket watch as he dashed off down the rabbit hole. That scene is at the beginning of the story and a paramount part, as Alice follows him down the rabbit hole.
If you don't want to be at a function or just don't feel like doing something for whatever reason, communicate this. It might work out that you don't have to participate. Again, you will be saving yourself the stress of dragging your feet in procrastination, or being bored during the time spent there.
People have speculated that he was late for the announcement of the Queen to the Royal Garden and feared he would lose his head. Another phrase often quoted from this story "Off with his head."
Understanding the deeper meaning of our inability to show up on time allows us the option to communicate clearly and consciously how we feel instead of communicating unconsciously by being late.
I am quoting the story Alice in Wonderland because it is a great metaphor for my article. At one time or another, I am sure we have all been the White Rabbit, scurrying to make an appointment or we have been the Queen of Hearts, left waiting and wanting to shout "off with their heads!"
I have not addressed the Queen of Hearts factor in the lateness game. For those of you who are habitually waiting for others, there are a couple of things you can do.
Being late occasionally should not set off any alarm bells however, if you are habitually late, you may need to look deeper to see what is going on. It is easy to make excuses for our behavior or project responsibility onto others. For true growth, though, we need to take responsibility and accept why we are late, come to terms with it, and work on correcting it.
Address the issue with the person in a non-confrontational way. Let them know that your time is valuable to you. Set boundaries, even if this means leaving when they don't show up or excluding them from the event. You might feel guilty about this, but in the end, you will have taken your power back and will not be held hostage by their timeframe.
Being late can seem like a small thing that doesn't matter, but it communicates a message (even unintentionally) to the person waiting that speaks volumes. In essence, in conveys, "my time is more valuable than yours."
My most recent experience was with a professional. I did address that I was not pleased to be kept waiting without the courtesy of being told the professional was running behind. At the very least I should have been informed, so that I could decide how to spend the waiting time.
Recently I was on the receiving end of waiting for someone. It irritated me, and I decided I should revisit these words I had written and expand upon them. Throughout our day to day life we are often called upon to reexamine lessons that we have processed. I liken it to peeling a layer of the onion, going deeper into the core. Then I think... I am not a big fan of onions; maybe it should be a jawbreaker. Not that I like jawbreakers particularly, but they are sweeter than onions. I do believe in processing what comes to me, of discovering more about myself through the “sweet” and “sour” moments of my life.
Apologies were made, but somehow it did not reach my inner jawbreaker until much later. First thought was, how many were late ahead of my appointment? I am sure that someone earlier in the day was late, and that set the whole booking schedule behind. I had many irons in the fire and having to wait 30 minutes added to my already loaded schedule. However, I needed to understand that sometimes life just slows you down, so you take a break. Eventually all that needs to be done is completed, even with taking a breather.
Being kept waiting is an experience no one enjoys, at best it wastes time, and at worst it indicates a lack of regard. Sure, the person kept waiting is polite and accepts the apologies offered by the late arrival, even if they are seething inside and indeed would love to yell "off with his head."
What do you think? Are you the White Rabbit, the Queen of Hearts or a little of both? Discern your truth with regards to punctuality. Decide to work openly on it and set yourself free!
At some places, if you are late for your appointment, you lose out and have to rebook. Or worse, you have to pay for the appointment you missed and rebook, which ends up costing you double. Some of the main reasons we get into the habit of being late are: Lack of self-regard; we aren’t important anyway, so why will anyone care if we’re late, or don’t show up at all. Being disorganized, or simply trying to do too much in one day. Not wanting to do it really or be there; We communicate our disinterest or boredom by not showing up on time. There is freedom to be gained in taking back your power and addressing the subject of being late! One, you will save time by not running around like the White Rabbit stressing because you are going to be late. Plan ahead and remember most things take longer to do than you think. Remember first and foremost; you are important, or the other person would not have set up an appointment with you! Start show-

One of the themes that I revisit often in my writing and when doing therapy with clients is the idea that the quality of our lives, relationships and emotional state is a function of how we think about things. It is like the difference between putting on dark grey sunglasses, which make the world look grey, and bright yellow ones that give everything a golden glow.
As you release the negativity, sense positive thoughts and feelings replacing it. See peacefulness replacing anger, worth replacing self-doubt security replacing fear. Be compassionate towards yourself. Choose not to focus on the negativity of others. Do not take their negativity personally. If they are important to you, focus on their good points. If they do not need to be in your life, let them go.
Many people do not think they have a choice about how to interpret their world. A feeling, such as anger, hurt or sadness shows up, and it is automatically assumed that something “out there” caused the feeling “in here.” In this view we are the victim of circumstances – like a sailboat with no sail, tossed about by an uncertain sea. It is the ego aspect of our being that view things in a polarized way: ”Is this good for me or bad for me?” Life becomes a win/lose proposition. If we are winning we are happy, if we are losing, then not so much.
Think of your consciousness as a pristine lake. Vow to keep it clean and healthy, continually eliminating or preventing any toxicity from entering there. You have the power to do this. You also have the power to transform turbulence, when it comes, to serenity and calmness. It truly is your choice.
If we can transcend this limited ego perception of life, everything changes. Imagine a hockey scout watching a game between two junior teams. He is not really interested in the outcome of the game, does not really care who wins or loses. What he is focused on is how the individuals play the game. When we align with the soulful or “higher wisdom” part of ourselves we, like the scout, can detach from specific outcomes, and bring our attention and intention to how we are handling our lives. This is where we become conscious, develop insight and utilize our ability to choose. The first step towards developing a wisdom perspective is to begin to be aware of what your mind is doing. What kind of messages is it giving you? Notice if there are a lot of negative thoughts about other people, situations, or even yourself. Perhaps even write these down. Own the fact that there is a part of you that feeds you negative propaganda that makes you upset or unhappy. It may be your inner critic, inner judge or inner “negative Nellie.” Decide that these are uninvited guests in your consciousness and from now on you will systematically tell them to leave when you sense their presence. Visualize them leaving. If you see them as people or subpersonalities, watch them exit. If you sense the negativity as energy, take a deep breath and feel it leave as you exhale.

Take a minute and mentally put yourself in a place that you love. You love the sights, the sounds, the activity you are engaging in. If there are others around they are people you are excited to be with. Take a minute and put yourself in that situation mentally right now.
break inertia and move (i.e. change) for the same reasons or at the same time.
Vision can overcome. Most everyone would be willing to and would even choose to change – even from very comfy places (mentally, physically and emotionally) – when the new situation is seen as even better. She loves her car until the newer model comes out that does automatic parking. He’s happy with his favorite Italian restaurant until he hears people rave about the new Italian in town – including people who love his favorite too! It’s about the faster iPhone, the bigger hard drive, the revised edition of the book; you get the idea. The fact is that when given a vision of something that seems better than what you have now – however much you like what you have – you begin to become dissatisfied and uncomfortable because of the comparison.
Now, imagine that I wanted to take you from that place to some new situation or environment that you’re not all that familiar with, but it’s a place I honestly believe will be even better for you. Even knowing that I think it’s great, how likely are you to be all that willing to leave the place you love to go with me to someplace new? I’m guessing, not likely at all. Of course, if I have excellent influence skills, ask you lots of questions to understand your situation/mindset, etc. and translate my suggested change into your mindset, I might be more successful.
These three facts, when you really think about them, provide useful strategies to help you overcome your personal inertia. These facts also can help you use and acknowledge your team’s, your family’s, your colleagues, anyone’s current comfort zones as a stepping stone to helping them create meaningful and valuable change.
But remember, you love the place/situation you are in. So, generally speaking, regardless of my skills of persuasion, you probably aren’t that interested. After all what you have now is pretty great. And why should you change anything, because you are completely satisfied and comfortable in the current setting.
Your comfort zone is the starting point of all change. The sooner you realize this, the more likely you are to be able to create the change you want and need.
Welcome to the power of the comfort zone. Kevin Eikenberry
When we are happy and comfortable where we are, why would we go anywhere else? This simple little example is at the root of much of the challenge relating to any change effort – whether you’re trying to change a behavior, habit or thought pattern of your own, or are trying to make a change that affects others. Realizing the critical role comfort zone plays in the thinking related to change efforts allows us to talk about some of the key elements of comfort zone and how to use them to stimulate change. The pull of the comfort zone is strong. In the quick mental exercise we started with you can see and feel the pull of the comfort zone. At some level, stability and comfort matter to everyone. We like the known. It reduces mental and physical risk; so, we must have strong reasons to overcome this pull. “Just because” or “because it is good for the business” typically won’t be strong enough.
Kevin is a bestselling author, speaker, trainer, consultant and the Chief Potential Officer of The Kevin Eikenberry Group (http:// www.KevinEikenberry.com).
Everyone is different. Risk tolerances change. Happiness with the status quo differs. Every person has different preferences, which means that while the comfort zone matters to each of us, we don’t all become dissatisfied at the same rate or for the same reasons. Therefore, we aren’t all as likely to

effort to go out and look for Nature’s free bounty brings is back to the interconnectedness we have with Nature. And it is an opportunity for contemplating the natural process of transformation, of birth and growth to bearing fruit, and especially of the aspect of death& sacrifice – because each plant harvested, each fruit picked, is a sacrifice that gives us life and should be properly thanked & blessed.
What our ancestors did… As was common in those times, it didn’t take much to have a reason for a Fayre - for feasting, story-telling, selling wares, athletic competitions, and hand-fastings. It is named after the Celtic god, Lugh, who mythology says started the tradition with funeral festivities and athletic competitions to honour his mother who died from exhaustion.
It is also a time which is ‘bitter sweet’; the time to enjoy the remaining warm days of summer, and yet reflect upon the fact that they will soon begin to cool and make way for the mists of autumn. It is a time when the wheel of the year is turning; when it begins the winding down towards the close of the year. A time for counting blessings.
This is the first of three harvest festivals. Lughnasadh is the time when ancestors began the First Harvest, of grains in the fields, berries in the hedgerows, and early ripened fruits from trees. It is the time of hay-making, to gather fodder to feed the animals through the coming winter. Gathering and bunching of herbs was something done by the ‘wise’ folks with a view to making oils and tinctures for medicinal uses. The fruits were enjoyed fresh for a short while, then added to ‘pots’ as they ripened and fermented – like Rumtopfs – starting with this festival, and added to until the end of the harvest season at Samhain, before sealing with wax for consumption in the winter months. And those that did not make the grade for the table or the pots were made into wines and syrups.
A modern Druid would usually attend a formal ritual, which may be incorporated within other activities like a Fayre, a Picnic, a Feast – usually including story-telling, games, music, singing traditional thanks-giving songs
Ways that you can honour the time…
Harvesting of the grains was so important that a lot of ‘ceremony’ was attached to it. Often the chief harvester with his scythe would be blessed in a ritual as they entered the field for the first swing of the scythe and erupting in cheering and clapping. Then the other harvesters would be blessed and join him.
It was believed that the spirit of the grain lived in the plants, and as the fields were harvested, the spirit was pushed back into the last field. And as the grain harvest starts with ritual, so does it end – the spirit of the grain was forced into the last sheaf of the last field, so it was revered. From the stalks of the last sheaf would be made ‘dollies’ - hollow shapes fashioned from the last sheaf of wheat or other cereal crops to provide a home for the spirit of the grain. These would then spend the winter in the home until the first furrow of the new spring season when they would be ploughed into the earth to release the spirit of the grain.
As Christianity extended it adopted many of the previously pagan festivals, and this one was no exception. The church called the festival Lammas – believed to be a variation of Loaf Mass, when bread was made from the first harvest, blessed and distributed to everyone, including the poor, to give thanks for the good harvest.
What Druids usually do… In modern times with mechanisation and mass production, there is no need for anyone to go into a field and manually cut and gather grains. And with global markets providing supermarkets with year round foods that are out of season, the sense of seasonal occasion is a little lost. But these cycles are important so efforts must be made to create acknowledge what is part of Nature.
Hold your own ritual. A basic script is available from the Beltane issue Attend a Druid public Lughnasadh Rite. Organise a Picnic/foraging trip – this is a perfect opportunity for a day in the outdoors, picking fruits and wild herbs, playing games, telling stories, making music, and ending the day relaxing with family and friends over a lovely meal. If any play instruments then encourage them to bring them to play folk songs (you can print off song sheets for folks). And maybe help the kids to create makeshift maracas and drums to join in. Make a corn dolly – either using traditional straw lengths, or artificial straws from craft stores. There are many designs and instructions available on the internet by googling. To remind us of all the good things you have – all your blessings – get some lengths of ribbons in yellows, oranges and olive greens. Write on each ribbon one thing you are thankful for then, with a strong sense of gratitude to the universe/God/ Deity of choice, tie it to the branches of a tree so that the breeze passing through it carries your gratitude around the world on the wind. Bake Saffron infused cakes and breads; make salads using edible yellow and orange flower petals; make jams and marmalades.

Here I sit writing this article at the last possible moment because I have been so busy with my family commitments. I am a nurturer by nature and at times my inability to set and to keep 'me' time leaves me exhausted. I have my parents visiting me from Australia at the moment which is wonderful but it also means that I have a constant house full of kids and grandkids who also need my attention and my meals. Have I mentioned I am exhausted! Now I also know that this is my fault, I have created this by not saying no. Regardless of me understanding that I have a need to please and also a need to feel in control of situations and that my inner child wants to be loved by doing everything for everyone, I do recognize that it is not healthy for me to not place myself as a priority at times and to say NO.
The funny thing is that I am fully engaged in my behavior before the realization strikes that once again I am exhausted because I did not stop before the exhaustion forced me too. I often wonder if it is my nature that is the culprit here or is it learn behavior from my childhood? Most likely a combination of the two. And I suppose I need to ask myself the important question “Do I really want to change The inner rebel that rules me still thinks I am young and can do 20 things at once but the mature aspect of myself that voice of wisdom and experience questions my motives and tells me to slow down. I know that I am listening and that my wiser self is paying attention and that I am placing some limits around being so available to others as I have not gone into resentment. That wonderful emotion of martyr hood. In my past I would have wondered and stayed in resentment and carried it with me to throw around and to prove that I was right or important. I am happy to know that I have grown and that I have recognized that I was on that path, and I can take the healthier step of just saying and meaning NO. No I am not available for the next hour or two. No I need to spend some alone time. And to realize that by being compassionate to my own needs that I am actually much more available to others when I really need to be. I just needed to remember that No is not a negative word and that it is only my own ego that keeps me on the path of martyring myself. So I would caution all of you nurturers and yes people to remember that if you are walking into feeling tired and resentful to remember that it is you and you alone who has created that scenario and to take a breath or two. Take a step back and to remember the power of saying NO.

Summer is upon us, with all of its delicious heat. Depending on where you live, there may also be an abundance of small winged creatures bent on having you for their last meal. When days are long and hot, tempers can flare and it is harder to keep small children calm – wearing on parents and caregivers.
ing effect will be in place before your wee ones even walk in the door! Oh, and let us not forget the bugs! Lavender and Purification™ are both amazing natural bug repellants. I use both – lavender for mosquitoes and Purification™ for black flies. Both work incredibly well, some people finding one works better than the other. It’s a personal thing! Both also work well on bug bites – the ones that get you before you remembered to put the oil on! If you do not wish to carry a bottle of essential oil around with you, put four or five drops of the oil of your choice in a 125 or 150 ml spray bottle and mist your face and exposed areas.
Essential oils can play a big part in helping us navigate each day with ease and grace – at least for part of the time! You do have to remember this: essential oils have a ‘flash’ point – they are volatile for a relatively short period of time. You will most likely need to reapply every hour or so – which is one of the reasons we dilute, dilute, dilute. Let your experience be your guide – every person is unique. My experience will most likely not be the same as yours!
Enjoy your essential oil experience. Make notes about what works for you and what doesn’t. Use high quality, 3rd party certified organic or wild-crafted oils that have been steam distilled or coldpressed.
First off, let’s tackle the heat. From babies to parents, hot temperatures can play havoc with our bodies and our emotions. Essential oils are a wonderful tool in helping to make it through the day and the night. Spearmint, peppermint and eucalyptus radiata are inexpensive and almost always readily available. ·
For more information about Young Living Essential Oils, please contact me at lightvera1@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you!
Put 1 – 3 drops of peppermint, eucalyptus or spearmint oil in a glass or metal bowl (essential oils and plastics are not compatible). Add some cool water, swirl with fingers to mix. Then put in a face cloth, allow it to absorb the water/oil mix. When it is saturated, wring the water from the cloth and place the cloth on the back of your neck. You can also wrap a child’s calves with this mix. A little bit goes a very long way….for very small children use only one drop of essential oil.
·
Make a mix of ¼ cup aloe vera gel, 3-4 drops each of peppermint or spearmint and lavender, and 8 ounces of water. Put in your acrylic or glass spritzer bottle, shake well before each use. Do not spray on the face! Eucalyptus radiate can be used instead of the mints. Adults and children alike will enjoy this cooling mist.
·
If you are in a pinch and can’t get to your spritzer bottle, take a drop of one of these oils and rub on the back of your neck on the little hump just below the shoulders. I have dipped my fingers in my water glass at a restaurant and rubbed that on my neck after putting the oil on. This helps to spread the oil further.

Everyone from adults to small babies can feel crotchety from heat. For small children, adding the lavender into the cooling spritz or the water/oil mixture can help take that edge off. Citrus oils – lemon, orange and grapefruit – have a calming effect. A drop mixed into a tablespoon or more of organic massage oil and then rubbed on small feet will help soothe sore tempers. Peace and Calming™, and Peace and Calming II™, are easy, already blended mixtures of essential oils that can help fractious children of all ages. Diffuse any of these oils into the sleeping area before putting them down for a nap or for the night and see the difference it makes. These oils are also wonderful for use in daycare settings. Put a drop in your wash water for cleaning surfaces on tables and toys. The calming, sooth21

A nice refreshing dinner for summer. This comes together very quickly and is light, perfect after a day at work or at the beach. Would also make a lovely addition to a ladies luncheon.
INGREDIENTS
Coarse salt and ground pepper ¾ lb. large shell pasta 1 lb. large peeled and deveined shrimp Fresh mini cucumbers ½ c. Roughly Chopped Dill (I would finely chop) 2 tbsp. light mayonnaise 2 tbsp. olive oil 2 tbsp. fresh lemon juice 1 tsp. Dijon mustard
DIRECTIONS In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook pasta until al dente. Add shrimp, and cook just until opaque throughout, about 30 seconds. (I used frozen, thawed, peeled and deveined shrimp—no need to cook) Drain, and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking. Drain again. Transfer pasta mixture to a bowl; toss with cucumber and dill. In another bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, oil, lemon juice, and Dijon; season with salt and pepper. (To store, refrigerate pasta mixture and dressing separately, up to 1 day.) Add dressing to pasta mixture, and toss to combine.

When I asked what the power animal was, this month snail came immediately into sight.
So as snail slowly inch’s into view their message to us is: “slow down and witness” “Remember like us slow and sure is the way to go, it will all get done. The thing about slowness is, it brings greater focus and awareness. With focus and awareness then come the ability to get things done in the time needed. Where rushing may only delay things if you miss details or are confused in need of clarity. Your clouded mind will then rebel. Where a mind that is focused even its awareness of difficulties will calm in it’s witnessing of them. Then in a slow, sure and steady manner clarity will reveal itself.”

Planets to Watch
Mars … Our planet of action, passion and anger. It is important for you to connect to and work with your Martian energy – utilizing healthy expressions of action. Mars is finally moving direct
We have a triple Virgo connection in August as Mercury and Venus join Jupiter. Don’t get caught up in sweating over the small stuff, use this energy to strengthen your mental faculties, gather the facts and material you need in order to create growth and realize much desired gains.
… At first you may feel that you are still unable to express your newly found inner discoveries, but as he slowly gains speed and moves back into Sagittarius in August you may find the changes you have been wanting to go after – are within reach … What changes have you been passionately engaged in, get ready to be a positive and powerful force-of-nature around the middle of August. Get your strategy in place.
Find the solution within a multi-tiered perspective. Mars catches back up to Saturn on the 23rd and 24th in the wildfire sign of Sagittarius, this can be an incredible turning point. Both planets are moving forward to provide a strong outward thrust of energy. Connect your passion with healthy boundaries and don’t let anything get in your way of actualizing your long term dreams and aspirations, stay on the path. J
Mars, watch squares, conjunctions and oppositions with the Moon for the Month – 4,11, 18, 25… Use Caution! Be careful of temper tantrums and accidents! RED LIGHT
Saturn moves direct on the 12th and Neptune and Pluto continue in a deep inner spiral changing the collective landscape within.
Jupiter… Our planet of growth, wisdom, opportunities and excess. Jupiter is very slow moving which allows us to settle in and grasp what opportunities are presenting themselves in your life. Jupiter continues his trek through Virgo. Don’t let yourself get overwhelmed with too many details. Utilize the opportunities and wisdom you have gathered over the last few months.

Saturn in Sagittarius will help you infuse flexibility and passion and bounce back into what you are manifesting, focus on healthy boundaries! Think quality over quantity. Mercury is the planet of creating the paperwork … Saturn supports your ability to get it organized.
Mercury… our planet of communication in all forms from old fashioned verbal & written to communication that travels on sound waves. Mercury moves into Virgo and stays here until the beginning of October. This is a powerful position for him – this is a great time to gather together the facts and information you need in order to restart a project you have put on hold. We start another Retrograde at the very end of August… Re-Do …Re-Work … Re-Think

Uranus … Unleash your Genius, this is our planet of sudden ideas and change. Uranus is slowly moving through Aries – creating impulsive moments that focus on new and innovative ideas. Expect innovative ideas to inspire, new energy sources are available. Be a Rebel with a cause – let the radical inner changes move you. Uranus moved into a retrograde (inner spiral) on the 29th of July until the end of the year.
Venus … our planet of Love, Security which often shows up as monetary wants and what we like to surround ourselves with (art, greenery, food, music, colour, sparkly things) … Venus continues to move through Leo, here she is taking advantage the long hot summer days, bikinis and waterparks, but on the 5th of August she will join Mercury and move into Virgo – Use this time to utilize your critical eye … (but not too critical) Gathering facts is key to understanding what you actually have already acquired and what you still desire.
Neptune … Our planet that dissolves boundaries and limitations, the window into what is beyond the physical world, (the last planet in our solar system as we know it today). Neptune continues through Pisces so take care with experimentation of drugs and alcohol and Be MindFul of what you are creating that is connected to the collective. Take care not to over-indulge in the 7 deadly sins. Connect with a regular routine to your guides, heal-

step into another. The lunar cycle is a monthly marker giving us a time line in which to complete old tasks, then birth the new. Connect to our genetic/collective habits and patterns of our multi-dimensional bodies.
The Dwarf Planets … Take care not to get caught up in the harsher side of these dwarfs – they may not have cleared their orbit of debris but they still pack a lot into their symbolic language. We have just begun the exploration of some of the newly discovered. Except for Ceres they are all very slow moving – change is very slow and gradual.
As above So below. The New Moon on August 2 at 10 degrees Leo at 1:45 pm PT / 5:45 PM AT
Pluto… Our planet of change, control (ego) and power. Pluto slowly plods along moving through Capricorn and is in a very long Retrograde (inner spiral) – Pluto continues to push for change to our old and outworn patterns of dictatorship and inflexible leadership (although you will continue to feel the resistance. Let go of the need to control and simply BE a powerful advocate for change. This retrograde will last until the end of September, focus on inner change.
The New Moon in Dynamic build toward something new and exciting. Snap-shot: Passion in the form of an unexpected WildFire A pleasant unexpected surprise may be on the horizon for you … something you have desired may just show up on your doorstep. There may be an undeniable desire to escape from all limitations that you have placed on yourself. Take care not to overreact … watch your temper and need for control and even though you may not believe anything you are told, you may need to give some latitude … remember the only control we have is over ourselves, through our actions and our communication.
Makemake… who brings quantum experiences and unexpected genius; is traveling at 01 degrees Libra – utilize structures that you have been working on that will continue to bring your relationship with the earth and the macrocosm into balance. Eris… only desires equality! This warrior goddess is a truly feminine version of Mars. Evoke and balance the warrior within, as she fearlessly moves through Aries (very slow moving). She is currently moving retrograde (inner spiral) and conjunct Uranus. Expect your fem-warrior from within to step up if needed.
The Lunar Eclipse / Full Moon on August 18 at 25 Aquarius / Leo at 2:26 PT / 6:26 am AT The sky is lit up – so you can see where you are headed … is it in the right direction? Complete your goals. This Lunar Eclipse will set an overview of your internal Photo: © dusk - Fotolia.com landscape for at least the next 6 months
Haumea… who is the real catalyst for Transformation is currently at 21 degrees Libra. She brings a balance back to the goddess as she takes back her power on earth. Step up to the plate. Ceres… loves the work or activity of the harvest, she continues to move into Taurus. Get your hands dirty – as it is time to plant and nurture new seeds of hope and restoration.
Snap-shot: Make the most of your mind grind … Unexpected breakthroughs help you forge ahead. Here too you must continue to watch your temper and how you react to your external environment. Calm centering will take work (consistency) but it is a necessary component. Your internal landscape eventually makes its way into your external environment … so make it count. Carve out a small amount each day to sit on your meditation pillow in order to create the change within to support your endeavours to create security and well-Being.

A Crystal/Wood Reading for
August 2016
August appears to be about allowing that which doesn’t seem to fit to have a space, a place in your life. Question it if you must, but be open to hearing what it is there for and the long range benefits. Do you know that you are the manager of your life? Do you know that you, and you alone, decide how you are going to feel about any of the events that are happening in your life? Choose love, dear ones. Choose to empathize with that which you know, and choose to be open about that which you do not understand. Love. You are Love, you exist in love, with love, as love. Feel the heat. Namasté

Week 1: August 1 - 6 – Agate: Open your heart, says Agate. Believe, both in yourself and in others. Feel where and when your heart wishes to expand and allow that expansion to be. Some of the people in your life require you to listen to them with an open heart, require that you acknowledge your judgments quietly to yourself, yet not let that cloud your ability to hear what they are telling you. Do not think you have to give advice. All that is required is your open heart, your listening heart, and your ability to let them know they are heard and loved.
Week 2: August 7-13 – Sandstone: Soak up the sun’s heat this week. Relax and find yourself a spot where you can easily move in and out of the sunlight. Smell your skin when you move from the sun to the shade, and vice versa. Pay attention to how you feel when you do that. As you sit, observe the people around you. Are they present in the space they occupy? What is a loved one trying to tell you? Are you present, soaking up the information in the way you soaked up the heat from the sun? Or are you off, thinking about anything but? Use your experience with the sun to help you stay present now.
Week 3: August 14 – 20 – Walnut Wood: You have many tools at your disposal to assist you in deciding what is right for you. Pendulums, crystals, cards. Friends, psychics….in the end only you can make the decision. No one can tell you what to do; they can, at best, give you glimpses of the different routes available to you. Throw caution to the winds – at the very least acknowledge to yourself what it is that your heart desires. Then put it out to the universe to assist you in manifesting your vision.
Week 4: August 21 - 27 – Rose Amethyst: All that you do is infused with love. It is not always easy to see the love that is present, but if you are willing to step back and observe, you will eventually see. Your higher self, your guides and angels are all watching and waiting for you to ask for help, to assist you with clarity. Pay attention. Does your beloved pet require more than you are able to give? Or are you feeling guilty because you are not able to spend the amount of time you wish to spend with it? Let your guilt go. You are the one who judges you…not your pet.
Week 5: August 28 - 31 – Amethyst: Glory in these last few days of true summer. Make time to connect with Spirit. If it is only when you fall into bed at night, or in the few minutes before you rise from your bed…be aware. Reach out and feel the love, allow yourself to be embraced by it. Sleeping or waking – it’s a wonderful way to begin! Carry a piece of amethyst with you during the day to remind you of the love…

new Moon August 2
The new moon in August arrives on the 2nd at 1:46 pm PDT in Leo. Time to tie up loose ends and this new moon asks us to do so practically with a flair of whimsy. Remember, now is the time to make plans for your future, by putting yourself first in those plans. On the July full moon, we did a releasing ritual to shed our history that keeps us locked into the feelings which don’t serve us. We asked to release that which held us back so that we could regenerate our life. Now we have the opportunity to tie up any loose ends and focus on our future. This is a practical new moon, no fancy trappings required, simple is all that is required for tangible results. Leo rules the 5th house in the zodiac wheel, and oversees our children, whimsy and creativity. Perfect to go with regenerating our lives because our life starts out as a child without judgements and an insatiable need for whimsy which is created and only limited by our imaginations. I say let’s let our inner child out for this new moon and create a little magic in our lives! When we are immersed in joy, we create magic and when we create magic all things are possible. I don’t know about you, but for me nothing says whimsy and inner child quite like bubbles. Each bubble is unique. It travels on a whimsical path, sometimes landing on an object other times it bursts midair. They are a joy to create, and I don’t think anyone does not smile when they see bubbles floating in the air. There is just something magical in their perfect iridescent spheres. Purchase some bubble magic. You can keep it simple with just a wee bottle of solution that comes with a wand or if you are into it you can purchase the ingredients and make your own along with a simple homemade wand – instructions below. On the night of the new moon, pick a time when you can just relax and have some fun. If you wish invite some friends over and make an evening of it. If you do this provide a bubble maker for each person. Then simply blow your wishes, one at a time, into the bubbles and watch them float around before bursting into the universal energy with love to be brought home to you as dreams come true. Have fun!
Blessings Marlene
BUBBLE SOLUTION 1/2 cup of dishwashing liquid (Dawn or Joy), 2 cups of water, 2 teaspoons of sugar OR 6 parts water, 2 parts Joy dishwashing liquid, and 3/4-part corn syrup OR 1/4 cup liquid dishwashing detergent, 3/4 cup cold water, 5 drops of glycerin BUBBLE WAND Pipe cleaners work well for bubble wands; they soak up a lot of the solution. To make a wand you can use a cookie cutter to create a shape or take one pipe cleaner and form it into a circle, leaving a bit at the end to twist around another pipe cleaner. As long as you have an open space at the top and a handle to hold onto you are set. If you want a big bubble wand, use a wire coat hanger and form into a shape with a handle.
Blessings Marlene

August brings us the full Sturgeon moon on the 18th at 02:29 AM PDT in Aquarius.
Full Moon August 18
First off, let us look at the symbolism for Sturgeon and Aquarius. Sturgeon signifies inner tranquility, perception, and intuition. Sturgeon will always show you the truth and will help you see below the surface clearly. Aquarius is an air sign, which means that they are thinkers, they use their minds and have a strong desire for freedom. Aquarius can be shy and quiet or eccentric and energetic. The combination of Sturgeon and Aquarius, to me, means we should feel at peace and from this peace will be able to see our next direction clearly. It feels very positive and freeing. Be prepared to have this moon be a roller coaster period of quiet and boisterous times. This full moon signifies the time of harvest. Whatever you have been working on for the past six months will be brought to the front and illuminated so that you can tie up any unfinished business. That is not to say that all will be wrapped up and ended, expect some things to continue until later this year. We have a Lunar Eclipse on the 11th of this month, the energy from this eclipse is supporting us in wrapping up our primary goals and ideas before the solar eclipse happens on September 1st. Recall that we started an eclipse cycle on March 6th with a solar eclipse. Expect some good news to arrive with this moon. Optimism along with a happy frame of mind is being ushered in with the energy. It will push you to complete projects started earlier this year and start to lay down plans. Don’t forget to add a dose of fun to keep the “happy” factor alive and motivating you. For this full moon, it feels right just to bring everything together with a simple meditation. I say everything together, because if feels like we have been collectively building our goals up and releasing what has not been working frantically this year. I sense this moon has a gentler energy. It feels like together we are releasing a breath that we have been holding since January. Simple Full Moon Meditation - Can be done indoors or under the light of the full moon. Sit in a comfortable and relaxed position. Breathe in slowly and relax, clearing your mind and releasing any tension from your body. Open your heart and feel the energy of the full moon all around you. Notice the brilliant light of the Full Moon glowing above you, or imagine it if you are doing this indoors. Know the full Moon energy is connected to the Divine and to All That Is, by connecting with the moons energy you are connecting to all. Feel your energy, mind, and body receiving a cleanse as the positive, uplifting energies of the moonlight streams down upon you. Feel yourself letting go of what no longer serves, and experience your energy being uplifted and recharged. Focus on what you truly desire. What is the desire of your heart at this moment in your life? Visualize your desire, and imagine the light of the moon supercharging your intention. Feel your inner light glowing brightly, reflected in the moon above. Breathe, and just be. By honoring this full moon with a simple meditation, you are grounding the crazy energy of the past few months into a stable, useful form. The sky is the limit, think infinity and beyond, as we go into the last five months of 2016.
Blessings Marlene

Hello dear ones; It behooves you in this time of change to have moderation in all things. For only in moderation can you be flexible. Being flexible in mind, body and spirit is a very good thing. This time requires flexibility, courage, and trust. It is not a time for rigidity of the old ways of being and doing. Change can be smooth and easy if you allow it to be dear ones. For those of you having a hard time with change, know that we are with you guiding and helping you as we are with all of you always. Change is really about the unknown and from another perspective the unknown is an adventure with all it’s plot twists and what good adventure is without them? None, that we know of. So dear ones, set your course, but try and be flexible, moderate and have trust and faith that the divine is leading you on a grand adventure. Plot twists and all. You’re in the great adventure of life The Angels

This month I am going to talk about a reading I specifically did for my daughter. She wanted to know if her upcoming life changes were for the better and I think the resulting cast answered that very well.
The last rune is Gebo. Gebo represents gift and should gladden one's heart when it appears. It indicates a partnership, either in business or personally. That's three out of three kiddo lol. It could mean you will receive a gift, either emotional or material, that you have been asking for.
The first rune or problem rune was Ingwaz. Ingwaz is almost always a positive rune and only in the most negative cast will it even suggest failure. In this cast specifically it shows a successful conclusion of the problem at hand and a sense of relief.
These runes are ones I very rarely draw when I am doing a reading for me, so I am very happy that they appeared for my daughter. Sometimes I think that people may think I just randomly write about runes but I can assure you that all my readings are genuine.
Ingwaz may also herald a milestone in one's life, the birth of a child, a new job, or a new love affair. I will leave that answer up to my daughter lol.
These next sentences are to my daughter:
This rune indicates the ending of an old phase of life and the beginning of a new and more exciting one. Ingwaz shows positive energies and assures one of good fortune.
“J, this is a very positive reading and I feel it should alleviate any apprehension you have. Remain true and focused, and everything will work out as it should. We just have to allow things to proceed on their time frame and not try to force the issue.
The second rune, or cause rune is Kenaz upright. This is a fire rune but unlike other fire runes, Kenaz symbolizes the warmth of the hearth fire. It represents strengths, energy, power, but instead of raw, it shows control and often indicates the importance of a positive attitude. This glyph is also a protective sign and shows an easing of worries.
I want thank J for allowing me to publish her reading and I hope a cast that is more personal helps all of you to get a better understanding of what runes can show you in your daily lives. Until next month, SkĂĽl my friends
Kenaz shows a time of "opening up," of good things coming into one's life and is a good time to start something new. Hmmmm, that is twice lol.
Phil
Kenaz is also the rune of creativity, and is especially important to artists of all types as well as crafts persons and may indicate the birth of an idea. Contact Phil at nourishpublication@gmail.com for more information. 47

Message from the Angels August 2016 Greetings From our vantage point, we can see how your year has been progressing. We would like you to understand and know that while, to you, your year is significant, to us it is just a blink of an eye. There is no way for us to measure time. Instead, we measure in soul progressions, soul evolutions, and you are right on track. It does not matter to us how long it seems to be taking, yet we do understand that to you the progress can be quick, or it can be slow. Right now you are all in a heightened sense of sensitivity. Little things that normally would not bother you are becoming big irritants that set you off. We would like to address this. As you have released that which no longer serves you, your defense mechanisms that you have had for years are falling away. What was once considered ok or tolerable is no longer acceptable. No longer can you continue to go along with the status quo in a relaxed, calm fashion. Remove yourself from harsh environments. That includes all negative thoughts you are experiencing. If you must remove yourself from negative family and friends, do so. If you must change where you live, play or work, please do so. Even if your fear is so great, it encompasses you totally so that you can hardly breathe or move you must take action and remove yourself from all harsh environments. It is a time to trust your body and how it signals to you negative circumstances. Your body will always tell you when you should avoid a situation, listen to it, it will not steer you wrong. This heightened sensitivity is part of awareness; it is what makes your light shine brighter as you step forward to help those around you by first taking care of yourself. Avoid whatever triggers you to be irritable. Ensure you pay attention to the signals your body is sending you and you will stay on the right path for you.
Keep an unwavering focused intent on what you wish in your life. Peace and love are top of the list we hear from most of you. Focus on bringing more love and peace into your life, this is your target. Staying away from negative situations will ensure you stay grounded and centered in your life. Success is bred of balance and focus. Notice when you are out of balance, reclaim balance, and bring your attention back to your target, when you are focused your path becomes clearer, and your aim is never beyond reach. There is no need to hurry or force things. Steady as she goes should be your motto right now. You are in a stage of blossoming, you have nurtured yourself to this point, and we see the beauty of your creation. What we see is you shining brighter than ever before. No matter what you feel you are achieving or not achieving right now on your journey, know that we are right here with you, cheering you on and celebrating how wonderful you truly are. We are in awe of how amazing you are and how you handle all the joy and tribulations of being human. Keep focused, avoid the negative and be proud of how far you have journeyed for you are on the right track! Blessings of love, grace, and peace the power of three
