Head of Bizmag Chloe As the academic year comes to an end, we would like to shout out to all who took part in our event and trips in one way or another. Thank you to all our committee members, seniors, members, and friends of ODAC for making this year a great one. To all who have been part of the journey, We hope that the greatest takeaway you had from ODAC are the friendships and memories forged. Let us reminisce on our journey together throughout our various events - Family Day, Games Day, CNY Dinner, Dragon Warrior, Step Up, Suns Up Guns Out, Outdoor Trips, ATC, Paddles Up, Pumpfest and FOOT. Not forgetting moments spent with the bunch of friends who love adrenaline and outdoors, the same bunch who went through tough times to conquer challenges, the same bunch who you worked and played with so often. It is all these little moments that sums up your journey in ODAC, and we hope that you hold these memories close to your heart in the years to come. To our 23rd Management Committee, Thank you for choosing to run along with the rest of us, taking on the responsibilities of leading the club. It has been a long year. As we look back, let’s recall the passion that drove us when we took over, the excitement we had when we first met our sub-commers, the fun and laughter we enjoyed in every event. For some of us, the journey might not have been a smooth-sailing one. Regardless of the outcome, we are proud of all your efforts and contributions to our events. This may be the end of our journey in MC23, but the memories and friendships forged goes way beyond. Good luck and all the best! MC23 OUT! To our Sub-Committee members, Thank you for choosing to join us this year, and devoting your time and effort to plan the various events. From experiencing outdoor activities, to forging new friendships, we hope your journey has been a fulfilling one. Without your unwavering dedication, our events would not have been a success. We hope the adventurer spirit within you lives on for many years to come.

“dear Adsports12
A splendid job on planning, executing and leading every Adsports event! It is hard to take out time from your busy university schedule to cater to the weekly Adsports meetings, event trials, booth duties and other ODAC events but YAY you did it! Apart from official work stuff, we definitely WORK PLAY LOVE HUAT, WORKED HARD PLAYED HARD. It is very heartwarming to see all of you self-initiating meetups and ultimately became a bunch who are so needy of each other (EW). We had a lot of fun from eating together, loads of sing K session, meeting at Hive for study sessions (and not really study), badminton sessions and our retreats to Kukup and Bangkok! Hope all of you had fun in Adsports in 2018/2019 and look forward to the formation of AdSports13. Ok, still got 10 minutes,ML?

Who we are
Adsports is Adventure Sports in short, and 2019 is the Adsports’ 12th year of running. The committee gathers like-minded people who are fun-loving who are also adventure sports enthusiasts. With fostering and strengthening bonds within the club in mind, Adsports plans and executes family events for ODAC. Adsports had organized 4 family-bonding events which includes ODAC Family Day (in collaboration with ODAC main committee), Dragon Warrior, Sun’s Up Guns Out and ends the work year with Paddles Up, an overseas kayaking event. We hope participants who attended our events found newfound friendships and also had a great time doing adventure sports with their old and new friends.

1 Held in late January, participants were made to work together as a team during dragon boating, as well as playing games in the second portion of the event. It served as an opportunity for ODAC members to catch up with one another after the winter break. Through the high intensity of dragon boating, participants forged a sense of camaraderie by working together as one to achieve their goal!
GAMES DAY Games Day was the first Adsports event held in the academic year. With the objective of bonding the participants from all 5 ODAC subcommittees in mind, Games Day was held at Changi Beach Park where the participants played teambuilding games such as Captain’s Ball. The event then ended off with a “surprise” chalet where everyone bonded through movie sessions and barbequed food! The late night talking sessions definitely allowed the subcommers to build stronger friendships which would last a lifetime.

Sun’s up guns out
3
Ready to show your gaming skills? Event 3 Sun’s up Guns out was held in NTU and was based on the popular battle royale game: PUBG! Participants had to clear station games within their small team in order to earn points which gave them an advance during the last part of the event, the battle royale. Participants had to eliminate opposing players through shooting at them using water guns! Despite the strong sun, the subcommittee members had tons of fun through battling with one another in a friendly water gun fight!
Paddles up
Paddles up is an annual longdistance overseas kayaking expedition, organized by Adsports 12. This year, Paddles Up’ 19 was held at Perhentian Islands, Malaysia. Participants had to brave through 35 kilometres of gruelling open-sea kayaking over the course of 2 days.
The dragon warrior
Fortunately, the waves at Perhentian Islands were calm, allowing us to clear the two-day expedition safely. The beautiful view of the rock formations on the side of the islands and crystal-clear waters distracted us from our tired arms, making the expedition that much easier. Apart from kayaking, there were other aqua activities in store for participants! Everyone tried the banana boat, the donut, and some even tried the Superman! Lastly, the event ended off with a breath-taking snorkelling experience! It was an awesome trip to mark the end of Adsports 12 work year with a great success.
We want to be the very best, that no one ever was. To challenge them is our real test, to train them is our cause. We will travel across the land, searching far and wide. Each of you to understand the power that is inside.

dear Atc19 ATC’19 has come a long way. From scratch, we organised a race that was unforgettable, exhilarating and memorable. Most of all, a race that we are proud to call our own. The countless number of recces, the sleepless nights, the crazy lorry rides that we had -- these are memories that we will cherish many years down the road. Although there were many unseen hiccups that arose during our planning process, we never allowed them to dampen our fighting spirit. Instead, we got each other’s backs and helped one another through the difficult times to complete tasks on time. Bringing a large group of strangers together in an attempt to plan a race was a daunting idea at first. However, despite the 19 distinct personalities that we have gathered, you managed to break down barriers, create conversations about pigeons and Pokemon GO, and became more than a planning committee -- you became a family. Thank you for coming on this journey with us. We could not have asked for a better team (*cues aWWWW*). On this note, we wish you all the best for ATC’20, a good life and we hope the legacy of ATC continues. To more raids down the alleys of Cebu, jumping off 10+m cliffs, and our failed attempts at PTs. For one last time, ATC~~~~

adventure trail challenge
ATC’19 participants were flagged off at Woodlands Waterfront Park at dawn. At the sound of the starting horn, participants raced to Kranji Road and cycled along the Green Corridor.
Next, participants ran a gruelling 15km distance along the historical and scenic route of the Rail Corridor, challenging stations were evenly planted along the way to keep participants on their toes.
Upon reaching Pandan Reservoir, they had to paddle hard around the reservoir to complete various challenges. Urban abseiling, was our race’s grand finale. Participants descended down 7 stories of a HDB building.
ATC is a sub-urban, multidisciplinary, time-based adventure race designed for both amateurs as well as professional racers. Participants get to experience an array of thrilling adventure elements, ranging from kayaking, trail biking, mountain running and urban abseiling to obstacle courses, team-building tasks and many more exciting challenges. In the event’s 15-year history, participants at the Adventure Trail Challenge (ATC) race braved through the longest race route to date. With an astounding distance of 33.526km, participants raced from northern Singapore all the way to the southern point of the island. They participated in many exciting stations that served challenging even for serial adrenaline junkies.
As the longest linear route ever in ATC, the committee is proud to have achieved an amazing feat of transporting logistics and deploying sufficient manpower to each station. Through countless hours of planning and trials, the ATC’19 planning committee crafted a series of diverse stations that challenged participants’ brains and bronze alike.
FOOTCOMM has had the luxury of accomplishing many personal milestones as a committee before actually hustling for FOOT Camp 2019. We started with Bukit Kutu as our subcomm trip and marched on towards the highest mountain in Indonesia - Mount Kerinci. Even with several trainings prior, the many obstacles that came on the mountain were completely unexpected and seemingly unexpected to overcome. However, the committee persevered and had every single member atop the summit.
FOOTCOMM19
Thank you FOOTCOMM for opening up in your own little quirky ways and giving so much love to one another over the past year. It’s truly been a privilege to see all of you become strangers on the first day to being friends that are almost inseparable as we ended our year in ODAC. Your dedication and willingness to try new experiences as a committee has really brought everyone together. FOOT’19 is proof that despite the huge responsibilities of the camp, we still can have so much fun and shared experiences together. You guys truly walked your own path over the past year, and we are so glad and proud to have been your SPOs.

Back in Singapore, we continued to be adventurous in our endeavours and signed up for the 2XU halfmarathon. We organised weekly trainings running around the hilly NTU campus, making the completion of the 21.1km extremely sweet and satisfying. Both the mountaineering and half-marathon were new experiences for many of our committee members, defining and firing a new found outdoor spirit in them.

As many of you move on to the 2nd year in ODAC, continue to have these precious memories close to your hearts but keep an open heart to the upcoming year. We are confident that you can pass on the outdoor spirit to the new batch, giving them an unforgettable university experience. Have faith, be daring and let’s give FOOTCOMM another great year again!

Apart from the overseas segment, we also have equally exciting events like night
and kayaking accomplished locally. We bring you to uncharted roads during our night cycling segment where you get to cycle on long trailer roads and past “sweet smelling” chicken farms around Singapore.

FOOT CAMP
cycling, rock climbing
17-21 July
Freshman Outdoor Oversea Trip (FOOT) is a one of a kind 5D4N camp that brings our participants over to Malaysia for waterfall camping and hiking experience. It is an experience that’s extremely friendly towards people whom are new to exploring the outdoors and are finding a platform to do so within NTU.
FOOT aims to introduce as many new outdoor experiences as possible, making it a camp that’s extremely different from many other orientation camps available.
PUMPFEST XXII To Our Dearest Subcommittee
It has been an arduous yet enriching work year with many setbacks and struggles in planning Pumpfest 2019. The climbing scene has been ever evolving and expectations for such a national competition were set higher than before. But you guys stepped up to this mammoth task and conquered it! Although we may say that the journey was long but looking back it felt like it was just yesterday when we were thinking if we were qualified enough to be your SPOs. Fast forward one year, we will say without a doubt, the friendships we forged have outweighed any regrets we ever felt. From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank you guys for giving us this opportunity to grow alongside you over the years, creating unforgettable memories and teaching us countless valuable lessons along the way! To Our Extraordinary Admin and Biz Mag Really thankful to have you guys help us for admin matters, always being on-call for cash booths and for fighting off the weirdest email requests. Shawn, it must have been crazy having to deal with all the emails, detailing and money matters. We really appreciate your initiative when it comes to managing the committee matters. XiaoV, creating the treasurer logs and running registration must have been tedious and hectic. Thanks for committing to your work and giving us your best every time. And finally, our influencer Celine, showing a lot of initiative to source for sponsors and helping us with stuff that we missed out. Going the extra mile in everything that you do! The three of you have been AWESOME and we are very thankful to rely on you guys for admin matters!

To Our Remarkable Proggies Superb work running the competition and dealing with the manpower demands. Fun Climb went well, and it was because of the time and effort all of you put into it. Especially Matthew for taking charge of the whole of Fun Climb segment at The Rock School, takes a lot of courage and initiative to do so! Really look up to you and appreciate the work you have done so that it runs smoothly. My steady whistle blower Shi Ting! Thanks for taking the initiative to closely follow up with the competition formats (despite constant changes), you did a great job in keeping time without a single complain! Pin Zheng no one can beat your adaptiveness and power to control the climbers at the back, detailing ran ever so smoothly with your help. Appreciate the enthusiasm you give to the committee! Last but not least, hardworking Gab, superb work managing all the route judges and even taking up other roles like judging or helping out with miscellaneous stuff! Always ready to lend a hand to help beyond your limits.

To be honest, there will not be an event if it weren’t for you guys! Thanks for being patient with our demands despite other commitments. Jun Rui, being the only one with photoshop and videography experience, you really go beyond your limits to produce astounding products, notable the shirt design! Thanks for being so reliable even when juggling other commitments. DaV, well done on the website! Ever ready to take up the job of working on the website even though you had zero experience with it. Superb work on the banner, it was greatly received by many! Thanks for bearing with our constant requests. Charmaine, we know you don’t really have much photoshop or video editing skills. But really appreciate the effort you put in for the sponsor post and introduction video! And Rong Xuan, started off as a bimbo, but you really stepped up to the task in the end. Appreciate your constant flow of creative ideas, great work on the video together with Charmaine! Congrats on making semis even through this tiresome event, I am sure you can achieve more than that in future! To Our Dedicated Logs You guys received the most back end from us, but you guys stood sturdy and ready to fulfil the logs request for our event! Bryan my champ, we never regretted having you in Pumpfest, stepping up as always to all our demands! Thanks for being so responsible and so reliable all the time! Alfred, we shot a lot of instructions at you, but you never fail to deliver when instructed. Great work in facilitating the logs flow during tear down! Finally Wyman, my MIA king, although you maybe missing unexpectedly at times but we really appreciate the silent effort that you put in for logistics! Takes a lot of courage to deal with the auntie at NYH alone, we are really grateful you stepped up your game for Pumpfest and helped us a lot!

Pumpfest 2019 would not have been possible without the support of NTU, NTU ODAC, Climb Asia, The Rock School and many more. We would like to thank all those who have contributed to the success of the event in one way or another. The success of the event is attributed also to the limitless support and effort of the Pumpfest committee. Running the event was no easy feat, you guys pulled through, growing braver and bolder just like our tagline! The challenges posed helped us to nurture and grow together. No doubt it has been a tiresome yet fulfilling year for us. Just like I’ve always said the event can fail but the friendships forged can never fail! Here’s to many more climbing, drinking and meet ups sessions to come!
In 2019, Pumpfest presented Braver and Boulder- packed with a mixture of old and new school style routes. Participants take on arduous yet dynamic routes, challenging them to surpass their limits, both physical and metal; building a sense of resilience to be braver and persevere through the boulder problem. This year marks the 22nd year that NTU ODAC has organised this highly anticipated annual national bouldering competition. Having a long history and being one of the pioneering bouldering competitions in Singapore, Pumpfest continues to draw the attention of climbers not only in Singapore but also climbers from around the region. The rules of International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) was revised to create a new challenge for our Open Climbers, in hope of changing the game. With support from the People’s Association, we brought Pumpfest back to Our Tampines Hub - Singapore’s firstever integrated community and lifestyle hub. With undying love from almost 700 participants this year, Pumpfest 2019 lit up the event grounds with yet another year of spectacular display of shear strength and skills! The Pumpfest committee strongly believes in the importance of giving back to the society. As always, Pumpfest wants to give back to the community and promote healthy living to the marginalized. This year, we included Charity Climb as another non-competitive segment. In collaboration with The Rock School, Charity Climb ran in conjunction to Fun Climb, the only difference was the target group of this segment was a fully sponsored beneficiary. This year, we invited the children from STARdy Kaki and Glyph Asia, a ground-up initiative aimed at providing education and mentorship to children from low-income families.

TREKXII
We may all come from different backgrounds, study different courses, and are of different ages, but one thing’s for sure- our love for trekking has brought us together. The sight of picturesque views, smell of fresh air, taste of tantalizing meals while climbing mountains, sound of silence amidst the dense forests, and the touch of cool breeze along our skin- in trekking, we share moments that take our breath away. Every trek has its own story, tagged with memories that will stay with us for life. You guys have left behind a legacy far beyond just Jia Wei’s crazy ideas, Spencer’s snake moves, Jialing’s cute sound effects, Justin’s being our ultimate fitspo, Jeff’s over- the- top comments, Claudia’s white girl mannerism, Vanessa’s insightful questions, Bryan’s fast trekking, Shu Qi’s motherly behavior, and Yong Chun’s dad jokes. It is so heartwarming to see each and everyone of you push yourselves to greater heights, literally and figuratively, conquering the ups and downs of each trek. Having travelled to 6 different countries with you guys has shown us the importance of camaraderie and team spirit. It is never just about the mountains we conquer, but what we conquer within ourselves. It seems ironic, to pay good money to seemingly torture ourselves on treks. However, I’ve once heard a quote that goes, “Somewhere between the bottom of the climb and the summit is the answer to the mystery to why we climb.” Indeed, it is not just about the destination, but about the journey. Thank you for coming along this journey with us. With much love, Your 2 amazing/ special SPOs hehe :-)
