Ithas been a while since we played Antequera golf, the delightful, interesting and challenging course located at the base of El Torcal Natural Park. Located just a short drive from malaga and the motorway that runs through it, this 18 hole golf course and surrounding countryside offer all the natural beauty you could wish for in a golf course.

It is a tricky course to play for sure, but enjoyable at the same time, not least of all because of the stunning views from just about every hole you play. The course covers 35 hectacres and plays to a par 72 with a slope index of 145. The course was designed in 2003 by Ryder Cup player José Mª Cañizares who clearly knew how to combine the beauty of golf with the beauty of nature and for me, this is what a great golf experience is all about. We noted on our recent visit how well maintained the course was. The large tees and wide fairways had plenty of manicured grass and the bunkers, whilst plentiful, were sandy and ready to play. And that just leaves the greens to talk about which, once again, were so well maintained, they were a credit to the maintenance teams. Aside from a fabulous golf course, players have full access to all the golfing facilities and services including buggy hire, club hire if required, a floodlit 24 bay driving range, a par 3 for short game and chipping practice, a pitching green, 2 putting greens with a bunker, changing rooms, a club storage room and a well stocked pro shop. And after your round the golf club bar and restaurant with its large terrace is a perfect place to relax and enjoy even more spectacular views. Should your game need a little help, call into the pro shop and ask about the many options for lessons and classes with a professional instructor. It is even possible to book a round of golf with one of the club professionals to give you a real hands on lesson as you play the course. All in all, our return trip to Antequera Golf was a thoroughly enjoyable one and one we can highly recommend for your next golf outing. n

Hacía tiempo que no jugábamos en Antequera golf, el encantador, interesante y desafiante campo ubicado en la falda del Parque Natural de El Torcal. Situado a poca distancia en coche de Málaga y de la autopista que la atraviesa, este campo de golf de 18 hoyos y el paisaje que lo rodea, ofrecen toda la belleza natural que se puede desear en un campo de golf. Es un campo difícil de jugar, sin duda, pero agradable al mismo tiempo, sobre todo por las impresionantes vistas desde casi todos los hoyos en los que se juega. El campo tiene una superficie de 35 hectáreas, un par 72 y un índice de inclinación de 145 puntos. El campo fue diseñado en 2003 por el jugador de la Ryder Cup José Mª Cañizares, que supo combinar la belleza del golf con la belleza de la naturaleza.

En nuestra reciente visita observamos lo bien mantenido que estaba el campo. Los grandes tees y las anchas calles tenían mucha hierba bien cuidada y los bunkers, aunque abundantes, eran de arena y estaban listos para jugar. Y eso sin hablar de los greenes que, una vez más, estaban tan bien cuidados que eran un orgullo para los equipos de mantenimiento.

Además de disfrutar de un espléndido campo de golf, los jugadores tienen acceso a todas las instalaciones y servicios, como el alquiler de buggies y palos, un campo de prácticas de 24 hoyos iluminado, un par 3 para practicar el juego corto y el chipping, un pitching green, 2 putting greens con búnker, vestuarios, un almacén de palos y una tienda de golf bien surtida. Y después de su ronda, el bar y restaurante del club de golf, con su amplia terraza, será el lugar perfecto para relajarse y disfrutar de unas vistas aún más espectaculares. Si su juego necesita un poco de ayuda, pase por la tienda de golf y pregunte por las múltiples opciones de lecciones y clases con un instructor profesional. Incluso es posible reservar una ronda de golf con uno de los profesionales del club para que le dé una auténtica lección práctica mientras juega en el campo.

En resumen, nuestro viaje de vuelta a Antequera Golf fue muy agradable y lo recomendamos encarecidamente para su próxima salida de golf.
