Over 400 years ago this astounding work marked the end of the Renaissance and the beginning of the Baroque. The publication in 1610 almost certainly helped Monteverdi gain the prestigious post of maestro di cappella at St Mark’s in Venice, which he kept until his death in 1643.

A new production of the opera Tosca A dramatic masterpiece where love and politics collide and murder takes place at the highest level.

Enjoy a celebration of Britpop culture with three superb tributes to great British bands: Oas-is, Stereoironics and Blurd.

Music by G.PUCCINI Libretto by G.GIACOSA and L.ILLICA Sung in Italian with English Surtitles

Oas-is are five Oasis fanatics who live and breathe Manchester’s finest band and are now dedicated to giving you the best look and sound that you should expect from an Oasis tribute band. Stereoironics are the UK’s number one Stereophonics tribute band and have been recommended to many by The Stereophonics themselves. These guys are easily the closest that you will find to the real thing. Blurd are the longest running and most authentic tribute to Blur. The approach is simple; to sound like and look like Blur, and thousands of music lovers, festival-goers, and fans of Blur testify that they do just that! Over 18s only

Tosca is one of the most iconic operas of all time. There are three famous arias, Recondita Armonia (Hidden Harmony), Vissi d’Arte, Vissi d’Amore (I Live For Art, I Live For Love) and E Lucevan le Stele (And The Stars Shone). If you’ve never seen opera before, you will love this full orchestra experience with fantastic colourful costumes, exquisite singing and wonderful tunes that the audience will still be humming on their way home, making this a must-see opera production for everyone.

DO YOU LOVE TO SING?

In Private Lives, strong passions and stronger personalities set the stage for a classic battle of the sexes. 1930. Deauville, France. Two newly-married couples occupy adjoining honeymoon suites in the same hotel. As a distant orchestra plays, Sibyl gazes adoringly at charismatic husband Elyot, while Victor admires his new wife, the vivacious and sophisticated Amanda. Champagne flows and the sea shimmers in the moonlight as the newlyweds prepare for the evening ahead. But when Amanda overhears a familiar voice singing a forgotten song, an old spark reignites, with spectacular consequences. Full of razor-sharp wit and quick-fire dialogue, Private Lives remains Coward’s most popular and enduring stage comedy. Since its opening at London’s Phoenix Theatre in August 1930, the play has retained its remarkable appeal, captivating audiences worldwide.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO MAKE NEW FRIENDS AND HAVE LOTS OF FUN ON MONDAY EVENINGS? A musical play adapted and directed by David Wood, based on the book by Judith Kerr. The doorbell rings just as Sophie and her mummy are sitting down to tea. Who could it possibly be? What they certainly don’t expect to see at the door is a big, stripy tiger! Following a smash-hit West End season, the tea-guzzling tiger is back on the road in this delightful family show; packed with oodles of magic, sing-a-long songs and clumsy chaos! A stunning stage adaptation of the classic tale of teatime mayhem... expect to be surprised! David Wood OBE is undisputedly the country’s leading writer and director of plays and musicals for children. His many successes include The Gingerbread Man, BFG, The Witches, Meg and Mog, Spot and Babe the Sheep Pig. Running Time: Approx. 55 minutes (no interval).

Now you can give the gift of...

JOE BROWN: JUST JOE Joe Brown MBE is unique, a genuine one-off. With a history that spans music hall, skiffle, rock ‘n’ roll, theatre, films, TV, radio and even circus (his Grandfather performed with Buffalo Bill), there aren’t many that can claim such an entertaining background. He is one the very few to have successfully traversed the years and the genres and still be absolutely contemporary. So now for a real treat and, for the first time ever... Just Joe, the man by himself, uncut, solo, uncensored, an audience with. Just Joe will see Joe talk about his early days, growing up in a pub in London’s East End, discovering skiffle, becoming a rock ‘n’ roll pioneer and touring with the likes of Eddie Cochran, Billy Fury and Gene Vincent before headlining shows with The Beatles as opening act. The heady days of rock ‘n’ roll will be laid bare and the evening promises to be an intimate glimpse into the hectic world of one of Britain’s most enduring and best loved performers.

Eliza Carthy & The Wayward Band released Big Machine (Topic Records) to critical acclaim in February 2017. The album is undoubtedly one of Eliza's most adventurous and accomplished works to date and their live show, which features a who’s who of names in the folk world, is equally as impressive, ambitious and exhilarating. First assembled in 2013 by English traditional folk powerhouse Eliza to explore and celebrate her long and varied career in folk music, The Wayward Band loved playing together so much it seemed natural and inevitable that this 12-piece would set about recording an album. Early in 2016 they did just that and Big Machine was the result.
