MOYA BRENNAN: VOICE OF CLANNAD When Bono stated recently, “I think she has one of the greatest voices the human ear has ever experienced”, he was heralding what many people know already about The Voice of Clannad, Moya Brennan. She sings like nothing you’ve ever heard before! So it makes sense that her live solo shows - with all the musicality and power of Clannad but with added, heart-warming intimacy - should be such a rich and moving experience. Her effortless vocals and timeless music pay homage not only to her vibrant traditional Irish heritage but also her grasp of contemporary forms. With Clannad she rose to prominence with a pioneering approach to traditional music which has garnered them 15 million record sales worldwide and a string of awards, including a Grammy in 1998. Their sound has since become the benchmark for the Celtic music genre. Supported by

SeeAbility’s young ambassador, Isabella Moore, has challenged a whole new crop of local stars to learn how to dance and raise funds for SeeAbility, a charity that, through their Children in Focus campaign, helps children up and down the country who suffer from sight loss and other disabilities. BERLINER PHILHARMONIKER LIVE SCREENING: FROM THE NEW WORLD CONDUCTOR Gustavo Dudamel ADAMS City Noir DVORAK Symphony No.9 in E Minor From The New World

The Octagon Academy is the place to sing, dance and perform for fun and enjoyment and SHiNE is our annual showcase. Our dance groups and choir will perform for you this evening in a joyous celebration of music and dance. The Octagon Academy will also be joined by other groups associated with The Octagon Theatre to create a thoroughly entertaining evening.

The conclusion of the orchestra's cinema season offers a both exciting and diverse programme under the baton of charismatic conductor Gustavo Dudamel. Following a rendition of City Noir, John Adams’s homage to the great age of bebop, Dudamel will perform Dvořák’s symphony From the New World - a work in which the composer adds a jolt of electricity with the help of stylised musical folklore “to portray characteristics such as are distinctly American”. Broadcast in HD with stunning 5.1 surround sound, this concert also includes exclusive interviews and programme insights.

It will have a unique, never-before seen flavour all of its own! Following on from the incredible successes of their two 2016 tours, where they wowed over 40,000 very satisfied fans, they will be bringing their SOPTV Show in what will be their biggest ever UK tour. Come celebrate the world of TV in an a cappella adventure from terrestrial to digital, from tacky to wacky, in full HD. Expect performances of your favourite TV Themes, sketches about panel shows, quiz shows and talent competitions, and more... all using the human voice. What will Midé cook up on our Masterchef beatbox edition? Will Joe Novelli receive four 10s for his Strictly Come Dancing performance?

This gorgeous mixed programme demonstrates the great creative vision of Frederick Ashton, Founder Choreographer of The Royal Ballet. The Dream is Ashton’s adaptation of Shakespeare’s riotous comedy in which a forest sprite plays havoc, armed with a love potion. Symphonic Variations was Ashton’s first work after World War II, and one of the Company’s first to be performed on the huge main stage of the Royal Opera House, in 1946. Marguerite and Armand is Ashton's beautiful and emotional retelling of a well-known story, familiar to us through Verdi’s opera La Traviata. Ashton famously created this poignant ballet on Margot Fonteyn and Rudolf Nureyev in 1963. This screening will have 2 intervals. This event is an encore screening.
