FOREWORD The OD Group was founded in 2004 by Jon Kearney to work within the construction industry alongside many of the professional bodies in the interiors market to deliver high quality interior projects across commercial, residential, and leisure sectors. Over the past decade, steady growth and the consistent delivery of projects through some of the UK’s most exciting and challenging times has resulted in OD Projects gaining respect from not only the professional bodies that we work with but also our peers and the wider business community. OD Projects is one of the Capital’s leading integrated design, project management and construction companies. With our partners we undertake various different projects in terms of scale and complexity for a diverse client base. We provide the very best specialist expertise in all facets of the construction process, from project initiation to completion. Our talented and experienced team has been hand picked, trained and supported so that they can achieve the very best results. The team is made up of like-minded individuals who understand the importance of attention to detail and the essential need for a high quality end product. We do not consider ourselves to be builders or contractors, but craftsmen who can be proud of what we produce from conception to completion. We genuinely enjoy working with a diverse range of companies from large multinationals to small privately owned businesses, taking care that each solution we design and implement reflects the individual needs of the client. We have a staff compliment of 43 talented architects, designers, space planners and technicians. Internationally, our primary focus is to deliver strategic workplace solutions and design excellence to our clients regardless of their office location, and we are therefore in the process of developing our reach further. We have a growing network of European alliance partners with established regional offices and the requisite knowledge of local regulations and code compliance to support the effective delivery of projects on the ground. In the USA, we have a strong and very active working alliance with Ted Moudis Associates (TMA), who are based in New York and Chicago, and can assemble joint teams to support clients both sides of the Atlantic. In September 2012 we incorporated our Singapore business, MCM East Pte Ltd, to deliver high quality design and professional services to our clients across the ASEAN region.

The client areas are designed on a highly serviced hotel principle. Clients and visitors from other offices are encouraged to drop in to use the facilities which comprise a variety of work and meeting settings again, supported by appropriate technology, including extensive wi-fi areas, tele-conferencing and video conferencing facilities. The project had a tight programme, where client decisions needed to be made quickly - the challenge to MCM was to provide timely information for these far reaching decisions. The transformation was completed well within budget and on programme, reflectingand supporting Addleshaw Goddard’s ambitions for their business, and has set a new benchmark for the 21st century legal office.

Following a review of moving to a non-cellular working model and addressing key drivers such as communication, interaction, team working, privacy, concentration and confidentiality, the decision was taken to move to open plan. Generic workplace components have been used, which staff can personalise and jewelled colours in similar tones are dotted around, injecting life into the open plan area. The new environment has succeeded in making the workforce more efficient, effective and responsive, and it truly supports everyone’s individual needs. Pinsent Masons’ aspirations to make this the best non-cellular working environment in London are reflected in what is a truly bespoke creative, yet practical fit-out. In order to support our client’s sustainability initiatives, MCM introduced its sustainability charter on this project, which assists in understanding and quantifying the range of sustainable initiatives available and identifying those which the client wishes to embed in the process.

The typical fee earning floors were specifically generic in layout to support effective and efficient churn with minimal disruption to support the client’s growing business. Client facilities on the 9th floor, accessed by scenic lifts from the atrium, take full advantage of spectacular views and were designed to offer world class meeting, dining and entertaining spaces. At ground floor there is staff dining, including a coffee shop, retail outlet, lounge area for staff presentations and informal meetings, along with a large servery. In addition a large training facility and auditorium, all with audio visual equipment, demonstrate the client’s commitment to continuous professional development.
