Pest Management for Cannabis Production This workshop is for persons growing cannabis plants indoors or outdoors and is designed for commercial growers of medicinal cannabis, persons growing cannabis for personal use or persons interested in working in this industry. The content will also be of interest to persons working in greenhouse production of flowers and vegetables. The workshop will guide students through a review of the main pest problems of this cannabis production and discuss management tools that are effective and meet the requirements of Health Canada. Learn the Art of Acrylic Painting
Introduction to Beekeeping Workshop
In this six-week course, artist Lisa Figueroa will share her joy of painting with acrylic paints. Acrylic paints were developed in the 1950’s to have the qualities of both oil and watercolour paints. If you are interested in having the ability to use one medium in many styles in one painting, come and learn the techniques and skills to make this happen. The first part of the course will be spent learning how to make marks with acrylic paints from watercolour techniques (washes, glazes and more) to oil techniques (impasto, sgraffitto and more) along with this we will learn to mix colours and colour theory and applying this knowledge to our artwork to enhance a more dynamic approach to storytelling. The students will choose subject matter for paintings and will be encouraged to make the best possible piece of art from the reference material and ideas they bring to class. Winery Assistant Certificate Gain the knowledge and skills needed to work alongside the many master winemakers in our region as an assistant winemaker, cellar hand or winery owner. Remember, if you are an Okanagan College grad, you’ll receive a 10% discount on most Continuing Studies courses.
APPLY EARLY Okanagan College Continuing Studies programs are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t wait to sign up. Courses that don’t meet the minimum number of participants may be cancelled. If a course is cancelled, we will make every effort to contact you prior to the start date. Fees for cancelled classes will be refunded or applied to another course.

INFORMATION DISCREPANCIES All program information, including course/program content, length, prerequisites, start/ end dates, postponements and cancellations, is subject to change without notice. Okanagan College reserves the right to correct pricing or course details at time of registration. Note: Many programs are offered at more than one campus. However, not all programs are offered at all campuses.
NON-CERTIFICATE COURSE WITHDRAWAL Refund requests must be made at least two business days (48 hours) prior to the course start date. No refunds are issued for requests received with less than two business days’ notice. Students may withdraw by phone, fax, email, mail or in person. Special refund polices apply to courses where indicated. Check the policy when registering. Non-certificate courses with tuition fees of $500 or more will have a five business day refund policy unless an exception is made by the Director.
CERTIFICATE PROGRAM WITHDRAWAL Visit okanagan.bc.ca/cs/policies for complete information on tuition fees, deposits and refunds. It is the student’s responsibility to be informed about refund policies and to contact Continuing Studies when withdrawing.
CAMP OC To withdraw from a camp, contact us by phone, email or in person. A full refund will be given if the request to withdraw is made at leave five business days before the camp start date. Requests made less than five business days before the camp start date, will be refunded at 50%. No refund is provided after the camp start date or for days missed. A $25 administration fee applies to all Camp OC withdrawals. Refunds may take between two and four weeks to process and will be mailed in the form of a cheque.
N.S.F. CHEQUES There will be a charge of $25 for N.S.F. cheques.
